As a female it's hard to know if someone is taking advantage of you when servicing your vehicle...THIS SHOP I TRUST ENTIRELY.If you broke down near I80 they're just up the hill take a right on 3rd street then left on Spruce Street. My battery light came on, I was alone and on my way to Oregon; I knew it was my alternator. After spending the night in my car, I contacted many repair shops (One sop told me couldn't guarantee their labor...What!!) and settled on Mntn West Motors. They had a Cancellation that morning (blessed) and the rebuilt part I purchased was installed within a few hours. They allowed me to use the bookkeepers car to go get breakfast (thankful). Shortly after my return manager advised me battery light was still on. They did a diagnostic test and discovered the part was bad (auto part store had to come out and confirm- they should have tested before selling). That meant spending another night to wait for the new part. They let me hang out in lobby all day (couch/TV). I have a pay it forward due (once I get a job again) - as I did not have to sleep in my car that night (very grateful)Stand up group of people work there, they really take care of you like a friend. Their honest and hard working.I made it to Oregon, then back home to Indiana with no issues from my alternator repair.Thank you to everyone who took care of me, I truely appreciated the honesty and hospitality. Oh and keep feeding those deer that walk through town (like they own it) those Poptarts, and veggies lol.Service: Electrical

I will definitely be going back to Mountain West Motors for my vehicle maintenance and repairs. I'm very happy with their customer service, pricing, and with how much better my SUV is running!

The people at Mountain West Motors are awesome! They diagnosed our Ford Excursion diesel truck problems within a couple hours and had a repair estimate ready. We ok'd it and the parts were ordered. Once the parts were here, they got busy working on our truck. They finished ahead of schedule and under the estimated costs! The truck ran great and easily pulled our 20 foot trailer the 1600 miles back to Tennessee. Dean and the crew were awesome and treated us like we were neighbors from around the block! I would highly recommend this repair shop!!

We needed a car repair during a cross country road trip. They got us in immediately, were super nice and even had a garage kitty to keep me company. Thanks for getting us back on the road.

Passing thru town on a cross country trip these people saved my life I would give them 10 stars if I could my car broke down getting back on the freeway I expected a $1200 fix they quoted me $980 and the car was fixed in a few hours even before checkout time and when I came to pick up my car he said he quoted me to high and lowered the price to $746 I honestly did not have the extra money and him saving me a few hundred dollars was great I m traveling with my children they where nice and respectful and that s an understatement!

I limped into town with my Ford F550 4x4 PowerStroke Diesel shuttle bus on my way from Denver to Sacramento. Something blew, but I didn t know what. Even though they were backed up, they checked out my rig, while the kind woman in the front held a lively and fun conversation with me (You ll love her! If we lived closer we d be besties). Turns out I blew my left inlet turbo hose. They had one and had me back on the road in two hours. I can t express my gratitude for their kindness and help. When I m in the area, I ll definitely be scheduling maintenance on my rig with them. It s important to know where to go and who to trust when your rig needs service. Mountain West Motors in Rawlins Wyoming is the place.

I told them the errors I was getting, which I'd gotten for free from O'Reilly's, and that the errors went away for awhile, then came back worse after I hit a pothole. They charged me almost $160 to give me the same codes I had given them, said it was probably the PCM, and referred me to the local Chevy garage, Skyline. It was the fusebox, not the PCM. They could have replaced the fusebox if they had put any real effort into correctly diagnosing it. Preferred ripping off the out-of-state female. How cliche. If you have a Chevy, take it right to Skyline.

While traveling to Colorado my truck had the front left axle seal and u-joint break.Mountain West Motors was the only shop that would check it out the next morning. They were able to fix the problem the same day. They had it repaired quicker than expected and we were made it to Colorado on time. I give them 5 stars for friendly and efficient.I recommend them.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Helped me a great deal while facing a car issue in the middle of travel with snow and road closures all around us. They are very knowledgeable and they are kind to those of us who are not skilled in automotive issues or terms. I recommend them especially to fellow travelers and contractors!

5+++ stars to this incredible team and professional shop.So this review is actually 2 years in the making, which I think is a testament to how great our experience was at this shop, considering that's a long time to keep thinking "Oh, I should really write a review for that amazing repair place!"My partner and I got stranded in Rawlins on a roadtrip from Oregon to Colorado. Towing our (apparently) overweight trailer, we managed to grind our front-axle into dust and limped into Rawlins on a weekend with two dogs and no plan. We were well and truly stuck. And the worst part? Literally every shop was booked solid for two weeks!Fortunately for us, we were able to connect with the team at Mountain West Motors, who were incredibly kind and so helpful. They were able to sneak us into an afternoon appointment the following day (no doubt adding more work for themselves in their already jam-packed schedule!). They explained all the problems clearly, letting us gently know that we had been towing the trailer too hard up and down all those hills and that this problem would continue even if we made the axle repairs. They had nothing but sympathy. The team was knowledgeable and compassionate to our plight. They explained all our options with concise, fairly priced estimates printed out for us. In a frustrating and demoralizing situation, it really felt like there was someone on our side. There seemed to be a lot of places to pick from in Rawlins to get your car fixed up. If you're wondering which one is best: it is far and away Mountain West Motors.Service: Auto maintenance

I broke down in the area and had my car towed here for a second opinion. I am a type 1 diabetic and when they found out I had run out of insulin on my trip, they offered to pick me up and take me anywhere I needed to go or bring me anything I needed. I ended up needing a new engine for my SUV and they are letting me keep in there since I live in Alabama until I can get it sold.

The man I met at the dealer was attentive, friendly, and on time. However, when I got a second opinion on what was wrong with my motor, it completely contradicted what I was told from Mountain West. Best part is, the other mechanic took 30 minutes to find what was wrong and didn't charge a dime, when these people charged me 140$ for not even an hour of work, just to eyeball the motor and lie to me. They said rods were bent and valves were broken, when there were no signs of such things. The only reason this place got my business in the first place is because we though we were stranded in Rawlins, and he was the only place open with reviews above four stars. I dont know if it was just an honest mistake or if I've been downright scammed, but either way, I won't be coming here again.

Huge shout out to Dean Parker at Mountain West Motors. MWM has been our go-to for vehicles since moving to Wyoming but this time we were shopping for our son's first rig. We knew Dean wouldn't put him in anything he wouldn't put his own boys in. When we realized our son was too tall for the truck he initially wanted, Dean worked with us on a newer model with a bit more leg and head room. So happy kiddo and happy parents knowing we have our son in a safe, reliable vehicle.

I took my '06 Camry in last year for an issue and it came out spewing oil. They didn't set one of the boots when they checked the spark plugs. But I, knowing full well that an unaccompanied woman in an auto repair shop never has a chance to fight back, ended up having to purchase a new vehicle because of their carelessness. 0 out of 10, would not recommend you let them touch your vehicle.

Get the parts yourself. Waaaayyyyy cheaper. They charge a 30% upcharge for parts you can go get at the parts store yourself for less and it's the same parts they get. All the do is call o'Reilly's or carquest and order them. $120 an hour is ridiculous and the charge an hour minimum for a diag just to tell you what's wrong with the vehicle. If you buy a car on the lot you'll end up taking it to get it fixed within a month. And they will tell you that it wasn't a problem before when they know it actually was. These guys are shady and valarie is to sweet to be working there. All they do is replace parts till it seems fixed. And if you're a corporation or seem to have money, the rates go up. Zane also does work for Alex and Nicole.

$120 for an oil change... Was not asked what type of oilI wanted and waited for almost 2 hours. I'm sure it is quality work but $120 seems like a bit much.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

They fixed our F-250 diesel and thanks to the owner I was able to get reimbursed $7835.35 for the repairs and etc. I purchased bad fuel in Montana and our truck shutdown outside Rawlings wyoming 40-60 miles. The fuel had lots of water and all the injectors and ECM had to be replaced. We were quite sick over it all and the owner and Valerie told me that my insurance would pay for it. I wouldn't have known that I'm sure. Anyway we were reimbursed for all but the deductible. They got us back on the road as quickly as possible. (10) days in a motel in Rawlings. Which wasn't too bad now that we're home. Lol

This is a great place to go for car needs. They did exaclty what they said listened to what i needed. I have had a hard time finding decent people to go to when it comes to vehicles. But this place is great all around. Will definitely keep going back to only these people. Beyond happy with my service from them.

They failed to explain the situation to the Mechanic. They were unable to resolve the original complaint and maybe even made it worse. Their facility is outdated and smells like feces because they don't have bathroom fans. Would not recommend

Great people. Checked out my car and instead of telling me 100 things that are wrong and giving me a huge bill, instead said everything's runs good. You have a couple small things we did but it was pretty minor. Had it fir two days under 100 bucks. Thank you. You just git my truck next.

Very please that they helped us out. We are from iowa and broke a brake line on our truck. They were quick to get it in and get it fixed so we could get back on the road. Very professional and explained everything they were doing. They are also reasonably priced.
