We stayed mid September so nearing the end of season for the resort. A few menu items were not available due to them winding down inventory. Not an issue for us, but something to keep in mind. Be patient with the staff. The room was spacious and had beautiful wood furniture. Same with the restaurants on site. The staff was friendly and everything was clean and convenient. The food was really good and the view of the mountains at sunset from the resort is lovely.Cell service wasn't great which they were upfront about. The rooms do have nice TVs to watch at the end of a long day of hiking and exploring. The room was priced high for what it offered but I understand that is due to the convenient location to GTNP.The drive from the resort to GTNP is beautiful. Oxbow Bend wasn't far from the resort and a great place to see the sunrise. We would book there again.

The location is super handy and the price we paid for the night was fair for the area. The room is pretty to look at but ours was in an unsavoury location- next to the trash and closest to the highway. I asked if an alternative was available but was told there was no vacancy. This seemed unlikely given how few cars were parked outside the rooms. The count did not increase in the late evening or early morning. The other disappointment was the shower. The water pressure was so weak it took forever to get wet and nicer all at once. The lack of water might explain the tissue thin towels but that in turn made me worry about how well / often the excessive bedding is laundered. The food at the Whetstone only mediocre and the service was poor. The view of the Tetons is fun tho not spectacular.

I absolutely loved my stay here at Hatchet Resort. I came from Oklahoma and stayed 4 nights. The rooms were clean. The property was clean and everyone from the cleaning crew to the chefs and the kitchen to the front desk. People were also very friendly my dog even made a friend here and loved being able to run around, I got the standard room and it was very cute and cozy and was able to relax comfortably after a long days at Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The fan was sufficient enough to keep the room cool and there is heat available at night if you get too cold, there s no air-conditioning so I think me coming in September was the perfect time . The view of the Tetons, every day was amazing. I ve read reviews about the food being pricey but honestly it s no different than anywhere else to go and the quality is incredibly great. I would hands-down come here again with no hesitation. thank you hatchet resort for making my experience so great.Safety: I traveled by myself as a woman, and felt incredibly safe here.

We booked here this summer. But they overbooked and needed to move us. Normally for this inconvenience they pick up the cost. Not these guys they book you at another hotel using your own credit card. Didn't believe they could do this. This is after I had confirmed the reservation a few days earlier. Then with all that they talk to you over the phone like it is a privilege to do business with them. Not good honest people. I would just book somewhere else where they appreciate your business.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hatchet Resort.Pros: the rooms were so cute. Very clean and conveniently laid out. We booked a suite and I m so glad we did! It was worth the price! The head housekeeper (I didn t get his name, but we had a window fall in our room and the front desk said they were sending the housekeeping manager) was super professional and kind. Did a thorough job and is top notch. I felt like the housekeeping department was tight and didn t miss any details. The front office was officiant, professional and pleasant. Always there when we needed. We dined 3 times on property and the food was very good. Excellent breakfast and dinners. Dining room staff seemed a little spread thin, but our dinner server each night couldn t have been nicer.Cons: really none. I m glad we stayed! I was a little concerned it was too far off the beaten path, but it s not too far from the junction. Would have been a breeze w/out the construction delay.

We didn't stay overnight here, but we stopped for lunch while our motorcycle club was riding through Yellowstone. It was raining pretty hard, and we stopped for void and to get out of the rain and to see if we could wait out the storm. The food was ok, but the service was great. There were 14 of us, and they had enough tables open to seat us all and accommodate our wet gear from the rain. We really appreciated that.

I really enjoyed my stay here at The Hatchet. The suite was incredibly comfortable and well-equipped (including a jacuzzi!) while still maintaining a traditional log cabin atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is also nice with proximity to Grand Teton NP and its own little meadow. I liked the addition of the two restaurants within the resort. The only problem was that the microwave did not work.

I would not reserve a room here again. Poor management. We had reservations for 2 nights starting August 29. Our flight was cancelled into Jackson Hole, so we could not arrive until August 30. I called the lodge and advised them. At that time the desk clerk stated that the room deposit may be forfeited. When we arrived, I again asked about the room deposit and was told it would be forfeited but that I could talk to Pat the manager. I have called and he is never available. I have emailed twice and have gotten no response. No offer to comp food service while we were there or give any refund of the room deposit. Very poor management and very poor customer service. We will not consider staying there again.

I hate to even give a review because I don't want people to know about it so I can still get a room! If y'all knew how great this place was, I'd never get another reservation! It's clean, it's rustic, it's charming, it's perfect! The view of the Tetons is an added perk! It is our go-to place and defines what the Tetons and Yellowstone really is. It's quiet but not far from anything. We LOVE it! (Please don't go lol!)

This was a room over top of the store that had a single bathroom at the end of the hallway, shared with a few other rooms. I would have given it a higher rating except for the entire upstairs floor is so squeaky that it was almost embarrassing to try and go to the restroom. You had to cause a lot of noise for the other rooms in order to go anywhere. Rooms were nice and clean. Working television, and staff was kind and helpful. Menu was very overpriced and they had an additional charge to share a plate. For medical reasons I cannot eat a full plate of anything so we checked out early and went to eat elsewhere. Bring bug spray. Like everywhere in the area, mosquitoes are horrible here too! Beautiful view of the sunset over the Tetons if you just drive up a few miles to the recreation area on the hilltop. Also we saw lots of deer at this spot at dusk.

We stayed here to visit Grand Teton National Park. Location was great. For the price, I would have liked a little more comfort including a microwave and mini fridge, which it did not have. The room had carpet on the floor which made me question the cleanliness of it. The room felt damp but once we turned the heat on the dampness got better. The Whetstone Grill on the property served pretty decent food.

Unpleasant stay in a cabin of unrealized potential. We stayed at the Hatchet Resort in the Hunter s Cabin in September 2023. The experience was an expensive disappointment. The location is ok, actually the location of the resort is nice (aside: this place will make you question the difference between a resort and a motel is it the presence of a gift shop?) But the cabin The description on the website doesn t do it justice. Perhaps if the words were not crafted by a reality distorting tourist trapper then justice could have been done. The description on the website says that you have to Cross a bridge to get to (which is a culvert over a ditch) this secluded cabin. It is so secluded that we had to close the blinds to stop the glare from the security lights on the cabin 20ft away. So, the cabin itself? Overpriced uncomfortable unsafe tourist trap (is the acronym OUUTT taken, because I m about to coin it). The website describes the cabin as quirky with the uneven floors were left as a nod to the history of the cabin. Ok, the unlevel floor was the last thing that we noticed. The decor had a significant yard sale vibe garnished with a furnished from an estate sale feel. One big exception (perhaps the only exception) was the recliners in the living area. Think of what the Cracker Barrel rockers dream of becoming. The recliners were nice, and that was it.The front door did not lock from inside. You can see where the interior lock used to be, but it sought out better accommodations. Not saying that we slept with our bear spray as visions of 80s horror flicks danced through our heads, because we didn t (sleep, that is). That security lighting bathing our secluded cabin from the cabin next door all night actually gave a sense of security. They were so bright that vampires would be left sparkling and were the main source of light in the bedroom. We were freaked out because of the bugs. Don t be mistaken, I m not picky or prissy. I live in Louisiana and have been bitten bugs bugs from around the world. I m ok with bugs. But at $400 a night I d like it to be somewhat bug free. The areas that we could see were pretty buggy, which made us wonder about the unlit bedroom. The globe covering the light in the bathroom seemed to be collecting insects for an elementary school entomology board. Of course, most people would not notice the light in the bathroom because they would be looking at the mirror and wondering WTH? The bathroom wall mirror is a classic example of what happens when you combine redecoration with bourbon (or similar). The mirror is set on the wall next to the door at a 90 angle to the sink at about four feet off the ground. The only way to use the mirror is to kneel on the toilet seat. Kudos to the proprietors, though, they tried to fix it. They left the WTH mirror and mounted a cheap extendable magnifying mirror next to it. Usable Oh, so the upstairs. This is where the only bed resides (seriously, why not put a Murphy bed downstairs? You could accommodate families). Only access is narrow stairs (is that up to fire code with the windows mostly blocked by furniture and no fire escape ladder?). Two lights upstairs, one not working and one with an occasional flicker (most of the light came from the security lights from the next cabin over). Missing bulbs downstairs where previous guests tried DIY. Ceiling so low you have to stoop. King size bed barely fit into the area, and you have to get in from the foot. If you sit on the foot the head of the bed flies up, stopping when it hits the ceiling and you are ejected. No headboard, woke up to pillows everywhere but under my head. No outlet near the bed to charge your phone. Did I mention no working lights? We used flashlights. It really is unsafe. Would a queen sized bed on a sturdy frame with a headboard and nightstands with outlets and working lights be too much to ask?The place has promise, but the description sucks. And it is overpriced. I ve stayed in an over-water-cabana in the Maldives at an all inclusive resort for cheaper.Rooms: Our cabin vacuumed bison balls.Safety: Safety is not something that I would associate with this property. The place is either a lawsuit waiting to happen or a potential site of the Wyoming Chainsaw Massacre.Food & drinks: The Whetstone restaurant was awesome!!! The restaurant is worth a visit by itself.

I booked a trip for my parents to stay at the Hatchet Resort as they traveled through Yellowstone. My parents arrived on Sunday evening and as they entered their room there was rat. When my mother went to go speak to the manager, the manager did not care to help with the situation and told them he had no other rooms. My parents took matters into their on hands and my trapped the rat inside the bathroom and still no sense of urgency to resolve the issue from the manager. Then he said, the only options my parents had were 1) stay in a room that clearly had not been used in while and had septic/sewer backup issues (terrible smell) or 2) stay where the rat was (with no cleaning services done). Needless to say, they opted for option 1 and dealt with the septic/sewer issues on the first night. Consequently, they checked out first thing the next morning.Totally unacceptable how this was handled by management. If management would have handled this differently, I would be writing a different review. To make matters worse, the manager is unwilling to reimburse/credit the additional two nights even through my parents had to book another hotel. This matter has been elevated to my credit card fraud department for the two nights my parents are unable to stay.Would not recommend whatsoever.

We stayed in one of the connected cabins, and it was the best sleep I've had in a week of camping. The rooms are cute with coffee and cable TV. The heating was just right and the bathrooms were super cool and clean. The only downside was that the shower didn't drain great, so after a couple of us showered back to back it retained water, but we told the owners on our way out. I was hoping to see some bear, since they tend to come through that area, but it was probably for the best. Lol

During our stay at the Hatchet Resort in Teton this July, my wife and I encountered a few issues that left us disappointed with the overall experience. Upon arrival, while my wife checked in at approximately 4 pm, I ventured to the restaurant to review the menu. As I entered through the front door and picked up a menu, a staff member, who appeared to be a manager doing paperwork at a nearby table, reacted defensively and asked how I did you get in? When I explained that I entered through the front door and wanted to look at the menu, she responded sarcastically, attributing the unlocked door to the cleaning staff's oversight. Her demeanor and tone were incredibly rude, leading me to decide against dining at the establishment that evening. I requested her name, which she declined to provide. A couple of encounters at the front desk were more inline with what you would expect at a gas station. It appears that the ownership does not want to be in the hospitality business. Location was ok except that its essentially a roadside motel with log cabin siding in the $300 per night range during high season. In addition to the unwelcoming encounter, we were assigned a handicap room without prior notification, which would have been acceptable had there been no other available options. While we observed the maintenance staff placing black plastic tape between the bathroom and the main room. After showers we noticed issues with the bathroom's shower installation. The water extended approximately two feet into the bathroom due to inadequate installation. Furthermore, we observed numerous cracked pieces of laminate tile in the bathroom and dirty carpeted floors in the main room. The room itself was warm, and there was no nearby outlet or window with sufficient trim to accommodate the placement of a fan.To be fair, the beds were comfortable, and the room boasted appealing decorations. However, the overall cleanliness and condition of the bathroom and floors left much to be desired.

We booked this hotel to spend the night on the way to Yellowstone. We arrived checked in and when we came in our room. The room was clean and definitely fit the rustic, cabin feel. We went to the restaurant at the resort for dinner. Food was decent but over priced and the steak, baked potato and burger were lacking flavor. Service at the resturant was great. We had fun looking in the wagon and the tipi on the property. We went to the little store inside the office to little breakfast things for the next day. The sunset just a few miles down the road was beutiful. We showered but the water had a sulfur smell which was disgusting. The beds were comfy I slept great but one of my family members woke up to the neighbor banging on the door at midnight they must have got lock out of their room. We woke up bright and early to go to Old Faithful. The office wasn't open but there is a little box outside to drop your key into. Everyone we interacted with at the resort was nice.Rooms: The room was clean, cozy and rustic.Nearby activities: Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National ParkSafety: Doors on the room had two locks one on the door handle and a deadbolt as well.Food & drinks: Food was okay but was overpriced and lacked flavor

We stayed at the Hatchet for 2 nights in the hostel room with a shared bathroom between the 3 rooms. The room was very comfortable and nice. Just be advised that since all 3 rooms are in the upstairs of an older cabin, the walls are very thin and you definitely can hear absolutely everything from your neighbors, even conversation at a normal tone. The bed was really comfortable and everything seems very clean. The Whetstone grill that serves dinner was pretty good food and is open late, which is nice when coming back from a long day of hiking. They also have gasoline and a small convenience store with drinks and water which was nice.I would avoid the Grill for breakfast. On the day we went they only offered a continental buffet style breakfast, like the kind that is usually complimentary at most hotels. It cost $30 for the two of us and the food wasn't great. The hash browns were way too salty to eat. We also found out later that they automatically add an 18% gratuity to all checks. This would be fine if it operated like a normal restaurant, but at least the morning we were there, the waiter set coffee at our table and that was the only service offered. So 18% seems like a lot for that combined with the cost of the food. There are other restaurants and convenience stations not far into the park that offer better options for breakfast.Otherwise, we had a very nice experience with the lodging and other accommodations.

Hatchett Resort was a surprise in almost the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by several ranches and rich in history of its location, it was a bright spot in our travels. The cute log cabin design and modern amenities were a welcome addition. The owner has done a great job at accommodating almost every need. The cabin type rooms adjoin s great place for breakfast called The Grill that has great homemade breakfast and next door is a place for dinner called the Whetstone. We had a wonderful dinner served by Brandi and Addi who were a delight to talk to and they work hard at their jobs. After dinner we walked outside and watched the sun set. We met some wonderful people, had some great conversation and hope to come back soon!

Best location when you are visiting Yellowstone from south entrance and already visited Great Teton National Park. You would see active wildlife in the surroundings. Rooms are outdated needs revival, i dont mind if you are here for stopover. Great onsite restaurant , I liked the black bean burger and my wife liked the red blend wine they have in the menu.

First, we stayed in one of the standard rooms, not one of the cabins that seem to have the most negative reviews. We stayed two nights while exploring Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons and Southeast Yellowstone. The location was the closest I could find and was not an unreasonable distance away. Our room was nice, it met expectations. Bed was comfy, rooms stayed warm despite cold temperatures, towels were soft and TV had a good amount of channels. This may be hard to believe, but the dinner food was outrageously good (breakfast was great too), as was the service. We are huge foodies and we were blown away. A restaurant in the middle of a town of 300 people served the best food out of our entire trip, including Jackson Hole! When we come back to the Tetons, we will stay here again. Manager and all service folk were very accommodating.

Simple yet comfortable offering limited electric sites but still nice enough to accommodate a multitude of RV sizes . And the overflow parking is a major plus .I'd suggest expanding water access other than that great place to stay. The hosts were kind and helpful and ral people not snobs likes many we meet .

There were few outlets in the downstairs of the Osprey (two bedrooms.) Beds are very comfy but we saw no outlets for lights or our phones. Kitchen had one outlet I think. Bathroom had no outlets. The Osprey was well-cleaned but we didn't like the idea of using a used kitchen sponge; there were two dishtowels but no dishcloth. The cookware and utensils were sufficient. We didn't know there was a $5 Resort Fee until we saw the receipt and didn't understand what it covered. It is in a beautiful location and a quick drive to the tetons.
