We needed a good halfway point stop on our roadtrip West. This place, although on the way, was off the beaten path and I'm surprised I found it but oh so glad I did. The owners, a sweet older couple, were so hospitable and kind. They let us choose whatever open spot we wanted. The bathrooms were super clean and because we got to choose our own spot right across the street. For $24 a night I couldn't have asked for a better spot!

The owners, Bruce and Jane, are wonderful hosts and went above and beyond what others would. This was supposed to be a quick, easy overnight stop on our way to the Black Hills, but our truck broke down when we tried to leave the next morning. Bruce and Jane were so helpful, allowing us to stay a week while the truck was in the shop and even helped with transportation. With full hookups and laundromat, we will definitely stay here when traveling this way.

We re from Alberta on our way to New Orleans on a cross America road trip and stopped here for the night. I can t say enough good things about how nice this campsite is. Bruce was a kind and welcoming host that took his time to show us around, answer our questions, and give us some recommendations for the area. The showers and bathrooms were impeccably clean and the prairie views were lovely. We camped in a tent and it was such a nice wake up to hear the meadowlarks in the morning. If you re on your way through and want a safe and welcoming place to lay your head, this is your spot!Thank you Bruce for a great time!

We found Prairie View Campgrounds through the Roadtrippers app on our way back to New York from our cross-country road trip. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best campground we have stayed at yet. They have everything you need and the place is extremely well-kept! I think they need to start charging a higher amount of money for the services they provide considering that we have stayed in campgrounds that give us far less for far more. Each site has a hook-up, running water and a picnic table. They have a laundry room, bathrooms and actually hot showers. There is a beautiful view of the prairies and you can see all the stars at night. A perfect stopover. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We found this RV park to be a friendly and comfortable stopover for one night. Nothing flashy, but very hospitable and accommodating. The pull through sites are gravel with a picnic table, interspersed between some shade trees. The bathrooms were the best setup we've seen so far. They have laundry on-site. There's a bit of traffic noise from the highway but it didn't bother us. There are big prairie views all around, just like their name says. The owners were nice people and offered suggestions for what to do in town. We would stay here again if traveling thru.

This place just perfect: quiet, a little out of town, small, quaint. With very clean bathrooms, showers, complete. hook-ups( power, water, sewer).A lovely get away. Wish we could have stayed longer, on our way home, stayed one night. Will keep it mind when we travel back this way!! Thank you Prairie View!

The owners are the best. Jane was very cordial and helpful. She gave the rundown of the place and the small town. Shared some of her story with us and how they became owners of the Prairie View CG.We had a choice of spots for our Bounder 35K with tow dolly and dinghy at 55.5 ft long, no problem. The gentleman next to us was at least 5-8 feet longer and he's rig fit with a bit of room left over. There is plenty of space. She also offer some of the other spots. However, the fit would have been a bit tight. The facilities: bathroom, shower, laundry are very clean and kept up. She has plenty of quarters in case you need them. There are a few window that are broken do to a heavy storm that damaged the windows. The property is very large and it is easy to navigate. We only stayed one night on our way to Mount Rushmore. Otherwise, we would have extended our stay. There was no hurry to check out by 12pm. I am certain if you missed the midday check out, they would give you a bit more time.In case you are interested, the owners said that the CG is for sale. If you know of anyone, have them contact the owners. Not many large trees, lots of sunshine and of course the prairie to look at.TORTUGA GRANDE REPORTING

Very nice campground with all of the basics...excellent Wi-Fi too! The hosts are exceptional - very nice and accommodating - interesting too! They were very helpful to point out things to see and do in the area. We really enjoyed the Stagecoach Museum - well done! The bathrooms are the nicest I've seen yet! The sites are spacious "on the hill" and plenty long for our 65' equipment. Gravel campground off of a busy road but the noise was not bothersome. Good location and proximity to Lusk. We stayed for four nights with our HDT & 38' Fifth Wheel.

Arrived tired. The latest review I read said the rate was $34.50 per night. Much to my surprise, it was $49.50! Site was relatively level. I thought the water pressure was kind of low. It was just an overnight stay. So, aside from the price, it suited my needs.

This was a great campground for me. The rest rooms were clean, very clean! I was camping with a tent and this campground is set up to support RVs, but they gave me a spot with no problems. The owners are very nice people! The site itself had shade, grass, was level and with electrical, and water. I plan to return.

Only 4 stars because we had a couple issues, however the owners Bruce and Jane were very accommodating and helpful. We arrived in time for a nasty snowfall, ended up staying two nights. We knew it was only 30amp pulling in, not a problem for us. We didn t hookup to water bcuz of the freezing temps. Easy in and out, didn t use facilities. The Outpost Cafe in town serves up a great breakfast.

My grandparents used to own this property when I was a kid with the drive-in, I lived there for some time and I can agree the views are spectacular, it's unlike camping you find in other locations anymore and I miss that. It's good to see that it's in good hands and still running strong, if ever passing through WY again I would make sure to stop here for the night!

We only have stayed one night. Check went very smoothly and staff was very pleasant. Bathrooms are not up to date but very clean. Small laundry room but clean. We couldn't connect to the internet but went to the office and they reset the modem and internet was great after that. They have a nice coffee shoppe that serves a variety of coffee, teas, sandwiches and salads. They also have a nice breakfast menu we might try out tomorrow. The dining room was very clean. If you don't like kids or dogs this wouldn't be the place for you but I would stay here again!

Perfect for our one night stop. All sights are pull through. All are 30 amp service plus some offer 50 amp as well. Also all sites offer sewer. Small public bath house is very clean and up to date. Very affordable, with a great staff!

We have been here in July just for one night to go to Yellow Stone, it is a very clean and super friendly campground. Bruce an his wife are very helpful people, we had from the first minute a very personal atmosphere just a good feeling that means your are very welcome. If you love to be not just a number and like to have a wide and spacious RV site with all hookups and a lovely nature around you, that is your spot. BTW there are also very cool old antique cars on the campground, have Fun.

Parks nice and clean, the people here are really friendly. My first night here I went to the office - for a good place to eat. Jane told me that just ordered pizza and she would order me one also if I wanted. The pizza was delicious, handmade.Wyoming's beautiful, stay on those back roads.

I stayed here for 1 night on my way to Colorado. The campground owners were very friendly. The sites are relatively large so you don't feel like you are camping right on top of your neighbor. They were finishing the tile in the shower in the mens restroom while I was there. The tile was completed in the bathroom and was absolutely gorgeous. It appears that it is also the U-haul Dealer so there are a few extra vehicles by the road but the campground was well maintained. We were towards the back of the campground and the free Wi-Fi worked great!

The host/owner Bruce is helpful, sweet and cheerful. We were car/tent camping and the site had electric and water hookup for us. It's also a full service RV setup. The bathrooms were clean, the showers free and Bruce even located a grill that we could use to cook our food. There are fire pits, too. All in all, a convenient and decent place to stay. There's a little noise from the highway, but the skies at night shine brightly with stars. If you can deal with a little road noise, it's a good place to stop.

Great service! We got our propane filled for our motor home, and Bruce is super friendly and quick to help! This campground is always kept clean and neat. A great place right west of Lusk, not a far drive to town!!

We were traveling to Custer when we suddenly had car trouble. We ended up staying overnight to get the needed repairs. We stayed at Prairie View Camground. Bruce and his wife were the nicest people! Bruce helped us get set up. We had a nice visit. The park has a great prairie view which we thoroughly enjoyed. Bruce felt bad for us breaking down in our vacation and refused to accept payment. I recommend this place highly. You can't meet any nicer people!
