We stayed at Rand Creek Ranch for 3 days. Great place and great people. Joel and Crystal are very down to earth and wholesome folks. We already miss them. We also did an all day trail ride with Joel. Jasper and Stetson were our horses and they were awesome. Joel was very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable of the area. We also saw a bull moose on our ride. Best trail ride ever. We will return soon!Nearby activities: Close to both Cody. WY and Yellowstone!

Phenomenal place to stay! Hosts are great and the views are breathtaking. We loved it so much the first time we had to return! No better way to spend your vacation than at Rand Creek Ranch near Wapiti, WY!

Take a trail ride up one of the most amazing views of the Wall in Wapiti. Our trail guide was on point in making sure that everyone was comfortable, even the guy that almost dumped himself and Deets into the first creek crossing...wont mention any names as to who that was (cough "me"), made sure 1st time riders (again caugh..me) were well but quickly and strictly educated on the dos and donts of riding. She also educated us on the landscape and history of the terrain.Affordable, hospitable, and on point with everything.

Went on a 2 hour ride with Chief and Deets, very smart, sweet, well tempered horses. Amazing views on the ride. Highly recommend for a proper way to see the Wyoming mountains.

We recently spent 10 days in the Cody, WY area and must say that our two hour trail ride was one of the highlights of our entire vacation. Such a professional staff at the ranch, well mannered horses and an exceptional guide! The views at the Rand Creek Ranch are some of the most breathtaking!! Thank you for sharing your horses & beautiful ranch with us!! Highly recommend a full two hour trail ride at Rand Creek Ranch!!

We stayed here for a night during a roadtrip in Sep 2022, and took one of the trail rides in the morning. The ranch is really conveniently located, less than an hour outside of Cody and about 40 minutes from Yellowstone East entrance. The cabin was great, lots of room and all basic appliances (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker) and they had super-fast Starlink internet. The horseback riding was fun as well, we took the 2-hour ride, the horses were friendly and well-cared for and the trail had some stunning views.Definitely worth a recommendation if you want to have a place to stay before, after or while exploring Yellowstone!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful place and views. Loved the views from the horse ride. Even if our cabin was a little outdated, it was very clean and worked well for us. They were always very prompt at bringing us fresh towels and everyone there seemed very nice. Our kids enjoyed the bonfire every night. If ever in the area again, we would love to go back.

We did the 1 hour horseback ride today with myself, my husband, and kids - 6 and 9. We had the most amazing time. The guides were amazing and very knowledgeable and my kids had an awesome experience. Highly recommend! Perfect ride into real Wyoming!

My review is two parts...first, I give the horses and the 2 hour trail ride, 5 stars. Breathtaking views, Sam was a great guide and we enjoyed very much. I highly recommend. The second part is the ranch which its unfortunate to say I would only give 3 stars. The cabin was very nice and cozy but there were lots of flys. The ranch was pretty but they would not allow bon fires and they did not serve the breakfast baskets that I had read recently were a nice perk. Considering the limited dining options nearby, this would have been a wonderful treat to have with the long drives to the park. The location was ideal to the East Entrance of Yellowstone and to drive down to Grand Tetons. It is over 2 hours to Lamar Valley if you are interested in seeing the wildlife. Overall I would recommend staying here and definitely taking the 2 hour trail ride. Hopefully in the future they will bring back some of the ranch's amenities to guests.

The cabin was very nice. A great location for our Yellowstone trip. The sunrises and sunsets at the ranch were spectacular. They are about 35 minutes from the east entrance but well worth the little extra miles.

I definitely know that my review won t do this place justice. I did the two hour ride with a horse named June who was well behaved and was very calm. Lynne was our guide and she told us facts about the land we were on and where wildlife has been seen in the past. The trail brought us up to the top of the mountain and the view was amazing there is nowhere I have been where you could get a view like the one we saw. On the trail it was very quiet and peaceful and in our group it was just our family so it was very nice. I would definitely come back.

Great place to stay between Cody and Yellowstone. Cabins are well maintained and clean. Very comfortable beds, and the views are spectacular. Took the 2 hour trail ride and had a blast. Great place to visit.

I highly recommend you take some time out of your day for a 2 hour trail ride. It's a gorgeous area to ride. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to and the horses were fantastic. They do have a mind of their own, so be prepared for a little "attitude" from your mount. You'll enjoy your time for sure!P.s. Make sure to being some sun glasses for the dust that gets kicked up.

Joel and Krystal were wonderful hosts. The cabins are clean and comfortable and our vacation included a little front porch sitting. The location is perfect, half way between Cody and Yellowstone. We will definitely stay here again if we come out here again.

Great place! Friendly staff, comfortable lodging, beautiful scenery, what more could you ask for? Close to Cody and one of the entrances to Yellowstone there's plenty to do and if you don't wanna step off the ranch they offer trail rides up a sceneic route into the shoshone national forest, fishing in a quaint pond and paddle boating.Well worth the visit.

Stayed 9 nights to spend time in and around Yellowstone national park. Stayed in the Bears Den which was cozy, clean and comfortable. The staff was great. Campfires when the weather was good were entertaining getting to meet folks from all over. It's close enough to Cody to go out or go to the rodeo if you like. Would recommend and stay again.

NO AC. Slow < 1 Mbps wifi up and down. No ice. Half bars on ATT (no 4/5g at time of review) (KEEP READING......this is not meant to deter you). Just wanted that up front and center so everyone sees this before I start the review. Can be a deal breaker for many in this modern world. I about **** when I arrived in 90+ degree weather and there was no AC :). They do provide fans, and it cools down immensely at night. Great location. (Close to Yellowstone) Great views. Stables and trail rides. (1 hour and 2 hour). 2 hour goes a bit higher elevation through foot hills, etc with better views. Fishing, fire pit, BBQ. Morning breakfast basket with baked goods and OJ. Very clean. Incredible hospitality. Larger sized mini fridge. Small microwave. No cooking (forbidden) in cabins other than heating stuff in microwave. If you look at the price vs the accomodations it seems pricey. However, you are paying for the ambiance, location, amenities, and the overall experience. No question at all you should choose this experience over the higher priced hotel/motel options in Cody. It is a family owned business. If you value the American individual entrepreneur, this is the place to patronize. Very cool experience.

This place was amazing! Sweet little cabin that walks out to the fishing pond. The trail ride was incredibly beautiful. After being brought a simple cold breakfast to our door, I spent the morning reading on the porch in the sun, looking at the beautiful mountains. Friendly, accomodating owners. The only downside was that there is no cooking allowed in the cabin. We bought sandwich supplies but there wasn't a cutting board or knife...would bring that next time. All in all, a place we want to revisit.

We had an awesome experience here. Very accommodating with all questions and needs. Crystal was a great host and her hands on the ranch were personable and fun. Cabins were clean and comfortable. We will be back to experience again.

Stayed here during our trip to Yellowstone. We were pleasantly surprised to see how incredibly beautiful the property is, to meet the wonderful people who run Rand Creek Ranch, and to see our wonderful little cabin! We will definitely be back next year.

Krystal and Joel could not have been more nice, or welcoming. Their ranch is exactly the way you would picture spending time in Wyoming. They had fishing, a paddle boat and kayak on the pond and horses to ride on guided trails. It was the most wonderful experience and the views are spectacular. Give yourself and your family the PERFECT experience and book the Rand Creek Ranch ASAP.

A nice local business. The trail rides are just as advertised. Great views and great workers. Just make sure you allow for a bit of extra time on the two-hour ride because it may take longer. This could also be a bonus depending on how you look at it.

What a lovely place. We contacted the owners on very short notice for a trail ride. They were very quick to reply and accommodated us with a ride around the property for our 3 year old, who absolutely loved it! Great staff and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

We scheduled a morning, hour long, horseback ride for an adult and an 8 year old. Our trail lead Kendall was great! Joel, one of the owners, was very friendly and approachable. Trail and views were excellent. Great experience!!

We stayed there a couple of weeks ago for only one night.First if you get there in the middle of the night like we did at 1am, makes it pretty hard to find it. I wish they had bigger signs. Although they have a huge Arch at the entrance, if you know you are looking for that one, you can find it very easily. These cabins are nice and clean. Pretty cosy. The couches were not really comfy to sleep on though.Coming is strictly forbidden here. Not even in the microwave.
