Mills automotive is excellent. They always look out to lower costs, but don't cut corners. They don't do unnecessary services like cleaning the fuel injectors or replacing the transmission fluid unless there is a clear problem. I've always been able to get in quickly, and both the front-office service and garage service are excellent, with clear explanations and good communication. I have Mitsubishi vehicles, which can be a challenge to find parts for, and they have always returned my car quickly and in excellent shape. Estimates in both time and cost are always on target. It is important to me to have a mechanic/garage I can trust, and Mills is it. If I think a dealer is doing unnecessary service, I bring it to Mills to get the straight story. I highly recommend this garage for honesty and quality of service.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

I have used Mills Automotive for more than a decade, for all of my family's cars and trucks. They are professional, friendly, accommodating, trustworthy and skilled. They fix what needs to be fixed in a timely manner, and at a fair price. When there is something that is not working or not working right, they let me know if it needs to be fixed immediately/urgently or not, and whether it is safe or not to drive it in that condition. They try to locate parts that are cost-effective. They explain the repairs needed and the solutions, and frankly give me more information than I need to know, but I have learned a lot about cars that way. They have always been there for me. I highly recommend them without reservation.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim, Brakes, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

We have been using Mills Automotive for close to 20 years. They have worked on all of our cars in those years and they have kept them running and in top condition. We value their opinions and their service. After moving from the area, our children return to Mills for their honesty, knowledge and skill when their cars need servicing. That goes for relatives from Chicago who also prefer to have their cars checked out by the staff at Mills!Services: Transmission, Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

My husband's car broke down on Tuesday, January 19th on his way home from work in Palmyra. We ended up having to have the car towed as the alternator went out on it. The car was picked up at 6:15pm. I was charged $175 for the tow. Which I feel is a fair fee. I was also charged $40 for an after hours tow. Okay fine. The part I do NOT agree with, is the $80 for storage charges. On Wednesday, January 20th I followed up with the shop at 10:30 am for them to look at my car. They charged me $80 to store my car for less then 24 hours. That's insane! They were able to repair my alternator quickly, and at a fair price which I did appreciate. When I got the breakdown for the towing bill, I called them the next morning. Spoke to Samantha. Told her I didn't feel it was right to charge me $80, 2 storage days, when you had the car for less then 24 hours. She stated that their day is from 8am to 7:59am. Which isn't even fair because they don't open until 8am. So even if I wanted to get my car the very next day, it would still be a 2 day storage minimum. She stated that's just her storage hours and it is what it is. Service was fine but the storage fee is not a justifiable fee for this situation.

Always a pain to deal with. I've used them for simpler jobs in the past and could pretty easily roll my eyes and get over their "we're in charge of the customer" mentality. This time, I needed a starter replaced. The night they picked it up, I was told they would look at it the next day. They didn't. I called, they said they would get to it that day. Four days in a row they lied to me and said they had time to look at my car. Finally, they began diagnosing the starter, and decided that it was the problem. I was expecting a starter replacement to cost, at most, $500. After looking online, it seems like this was on the higher end.Apparently it wasn't as they wanted almost $900 to replace my starter. Granted, this included a tow, however the tow was only $50. A new starter for my car costs around $250, therefor they wanted, at the very least, $500 for labor. Furthermore, they refused the option of simply putting a used starter in, even though it was what I wanted after hearing what they wanted to charge. In the end, I had to have the car towed back to my place, unfixed. They also charged me fees for overtime, which I just think is silly as I never forced them to work overtime.Never use Mills Automotive, they are scam artists.I've only used 5 Star Lopez once, however their service and prices were amazing and that is where I would prefer to have my repairs done in the future.

Mills Auto came to my rescue. While spending some winter months with my daughter in another town my trucks sensor light came on. I took it to a large dealership and was told there were many things wrong and up to $3000 worth of work. I contacted Mills with the invoice of work that needed to be done . My truck did not need all of that work. When I got home I took my truck to Mills and had the few problems taken care of. I have been going to them for over 10 years and I completely trust them.

I visited a friend down in college and my brake lines went out. After calling most of the other shops Mills said they would be able to squeeze me in. They were extremely helpful and fixed my lines better than they were before. I highly recommend them for their compassion and understanding and being able to fix my vehicle last minute so I could get home safely.

You can do much better than to drop your car off here. If you don't mind spending twice as much for repairs then I highly recommend that you don't take your vehicle to Mills. Their motto should be Chicago prices in a small town. To replace a transmission Mills wanted $1500 for the installation - Dependable Auto in Fort Atkinson did the installation for $700!! Don't walk - drive away from Mills.

I had my car towed there are the prices were fair for having ignition replaced. However, when I tried to start my car after bringing it home they had not attached the cables to the battery correctly so my car didn t start. On top of that they left a half eaten sandwich on my engine block. When I called to tell them they messed up, they denied it and were nothing but rude and dismissive of their sloppy work. Will never return to their shop.

I would advise getting any estimates in writing prior to service. Final bill was almost $100 over estimate given over the phone including undisclosed towing charge ( for 2 mile tow), various shop and disposal fees which I was later told were standard for all repairs...but never added to the estimate? Most rude people I have encountered in any customer service position when I disputed the charges, and I am in sales so remained calm while Chuck flew off the handle about what I "should have expected". This was an out of town repair for me, and makes me appreciate my local repair shop that much more!

My fianc got in an accident with our 08 Chevy over by generac in whitewater on February 20th, he rear ended a car and the police was dispatched out to his location. The police officer took it upon himself to dispatch mills automotive to tow the truck to there shop. The day before I just put on brand new aftermarket 20 rims and tires onto my truck and they didn t even have 30 miles on them. When the tow truck came out he loaded the truck unprofessionally knowing he should ve went about it a different way considering the rims we had on the truck he then proceeded to load the truck anyways and scratch my two front rims. Which numerous people saw happen, so I immediately called my insurance and explained what happened and they told me to take it up with Mills. I called mills, and explained the situation and told them about what had happen to my brand new rims that costed $200 each. I got a call back from Samantha and she rudely told me that my insurance gave me money for my rims which they only gave me $126 for my rims which doesn t even cover one. Also Mills charged me also $145 for storage fee when it only sat there for not even three hours. Will not be using or recommending Mills to anyone in the future. Very disappointed, also have pictures to prove all of this.

The people who run this place are a bunch of scammers and are very rude. They do not know what they are doing when it comes to suspension work. I dropped my car off the first time and they replaced my suspension. During the pick up once the work was completed, they added an extra $250 on to my bill for work I did not tell them to do nor was it life threatening. I ended up paying it because I didnt want to do anyone wrong. After driving away my brakes nearly pushed all the way down to the floor board and barely stopped my car. They told me it was my master cylinder going bad even though my brakes were perfect before I brought it in. 2 days later the suspension was making loud creaking noises and I was told to bring it in and they would LOOK at it. At the pick up, once again they did work without my knowledge and told me it was another $185. I told them I wasnt going to pay this and they voided my warranty.Ever so often my car pulls to the right for no given reason so I decided to pop the hood and take a look. THEY COMPLETELY REMOVED THE FRONT SUSPENSION MOUNTS SO METAL IS ON METAL MAKING THE SUSPENSION ABLE TO MOVE FREELY WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS.EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT WHEN IT COMES TO WORK AND PUTS CUSTOMERS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER TO MAKE A COUPLE EXTRA DOLLARS.Avoid at all costs. Very expensive, poor quality of work, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OWNERSHIP.

These people are the best. I would recommend them for literally anything. When I think about automotive shops I get worried because I don't know most things and I don't wana get ripped off but the staff at this shop really care. I bought my car I have now from them and my lease was for three months. After the three months were over I was having problems and they went above and beyond with helping! With no cost to me. Definitely a place that values their customers & were a Xmas blessing to me. I'm a 20yo female college student and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I "made an appointment" which was calling in yesterday and telling them that I needed to bring my car in to get it fixed. They told me to bring it in with no set time that they would be able to get at to it by. So I brought it in early this morning I then was lectured that they have millions of dollars of equipment that might tell me that something else is wrong with my car rather than going to a different dealership with a 75 dollar sensor. The head guy then said that he watches those TV shows... all I wanted was to get one thing fixed on my car. I kept on calling back during the day to ask what they found. 6pm rolled around still no call I was driven by my friend back to the car dealership where I found the doors locked. I had to call to let me in where I was then told that they didn't even have time to hook up the sensor. When I was told that it would be finished late this afternoon he claimed to say "how could I tell you when it was going to be finished when I didn't even know what was wrong with it". I may not be a professional mechanic, but I do know customer service and this was horrible customer service. They claim that they will call me tomorrow, but I doubt that they will. I understand that cars are machines and machines break, but don't treat me like garbage or as if I don't know anything............ I am updating my review....... I didn't receive a call the next day so I called in to make an "appointment" the told me straight up that they didn't have room for me and obviously didn't want my business. I tried to give them a second chance and they were still extremely rude. HORRIBLE!!!

I had an awful experience with Mills. I had my car towed to them after it overheated on the road. They told me what was wrong with it and also fixed my door lock and trunk and told me I could pick it up and take it home. The total was around $350. I picked it up and was initially pleased with the results. I was two hours into my drive home to Eau Claire and got stranded by a military base. I had to get it towed once again back to them for THE SAME ISSUE. They did not refund me, but checked it out for "free". The woman essentially told me that I "drove it into the ground" and "should have gotten off the road right away". I took the first exit that I could. She told me that it was meant to be "an around town car", but didn't tell me that when she knew I was driving it home to Eau Claire. I didn't get a refund. This was hands down the worst car service I've ever received, and I talked to a man in the lobby while waiting who felt the same way. I will not go back.

My breaks went out this morning and with it being a Saturday, NO ONE was open. Finally, I called Mills, he answered and I explained my situation, he told me he could come in and meet me to look at my car. Within 2 min, told me what needed to be fixed. Called one of his employees to see if he would be willing to come in and fix it. HE DID! The owner even offered to take me home so I didn't have to sit in the shop for 2 hours. Then told me he would come back and get me when my car was done. I had to be into work in 3 hours and so this was TRULY AMAZING! Not only was he VERY FAIR with the price, but he was very friendly! Told me all about his son and the town on our way to drop me off at home. If ANYTHING happens while I am here in whitewater, I will FOR SURE be going to MILLS! I couldn't thank him enough. He is not trying to rip off college students, and believe me... many places in whitewater do! I was hesitant the last time I had a car problem a few weeks ago, didnt go anywhere in whitewater for that very reason. This time, I had no choice, but I was very glad I ran into this car shop! He was SO HELPFUL! I was shooken up when I first got there and even the woman at the desk came and gave me a hug, sat me down and got me some water and candy. They are just SO CARING!GO HERE!!

I had to move my then boyfriend to Whitewater and Mills Automotive was the drop off spot for the U-Haul. Everyone was helpful and friendly. They had two really sweet dogs in the office. Paperwork was processed correctly and everything went smoothly. They have a great reputation within Whitewater. Definitely would use Mills Automotive for any future service whether it's on my car or to pick up another U-Haul!

Daughter had to get battery replaced and they didn't even look at date on previous one which was only a year old. Put new one in and charged full price. Then when we asked for old battery to provide that it should have been pro-rate, the owner was so biligerent, he hung up on me. I believe he is used to taking advantage of college kids. This was the first time our daughter had to use aaa at college and of course he is the only AAA certified dealer in Whitewater. Someone at AAA really dropped the ball when he got approved!

Do not use this company for towing or roadside assistance. I filed a grievance with AAA because I was so dissatisfied with the service. Fortunately, I was paying attention and stopped the tow truck driver before he damaged my vehicle. Unfortunately, I am unable to give zero stars.
