David is an incredibly dedicated car mechanic. Even on weekends and late at night, he responds to my messages and willingly fixes my car. Knowing close to nothing about cars myself, I feel fortunate to have found him. His professionalism and expertise have left a lasting impression on me. I wouldn't consider going to any other repair shop now. If my car has any issues, I will definitely turn to him for assistance.

I would highly recommend Vaughn's Northwest Auto Repair to anyone in the northern/central Wisconsin area. David is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and thorough. He serviced my brakes on a Sunday, and went above and beyond to make sure that I was well taken care of. He remarked that, with every vehicle that he works on, he makes sure to service it in such a manner that he would feel comfortable with his grandmother getting behind the wheel. His genuine care for his customers is reflected in his attention to detail and dogged insistence on getting the job done ethically and completely. His pricing is phenomenal for the value that he provides. Cannot recommend him enough!Service: Brakes

David was courteous and friendly. He looked over my car to find the actual work that needs to be done, and very reasonable on price. He will be more than happy to do the work. Will be making an appointment to get my car fixed soon.

David is hands down the best mechanic I have ever had. I was told from the mechanic shop Tires Plus that it would be over 1000 to fix my vehicle and I may as well scrap it. From the beginning David was knowledgeable and honest with me. He charged much less than Tires Plus and in my opinion he provided MUCH better quality service. I was so impressed with his eagerness to help. He walked me through all the things he was going to do (my vehicle needed rear end welding) and was able to show me the end results. I have recommended him to quite a few people already. I am more than happy with the work he has done and I plan to continue to use him as my family's mechanic!

I was having tire issues when passing through town headed home from out of state. I called and David was willing to help me last-minute. He was very kind and explained everything he was doing and looking for. He quickly diagnosed a sheared stud as the issue and had me back on the road so I made it home on time.Service: TiresService: Tires

Excellent service and great price! David fixed my vehicle on two separate occasions. My wheel bearing and my water pump. He is a trustworthy guy who loves working on cars. His prices are too good to mention, you'd think I was lying. Hopefully my vehicle doesn't have any more problems, but if it does I will call him first.

I couldn t be happier with the work David has done on my car. Brakes & brake lines, heater blower, fuel pump, water pump, coolant flush & fill, oil changes over the past 8 months or so. He s very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He has gotten top quality parts (even drilled and slotted high performance brake rotors) at discount and passed the savings on to me. I trust his judgment and integrity. Unlike most shops, he ll take the trouble to repair something if that will save me money as in the case of a leaky oil pan which he fixed for about one tenth the estimate I got from a place that told me I needed a new one. I know that I m getting only work that needs to be done and at a very reasonable rate and that I m not being overcharged for questionable service, marked up parts and outrageous shop time. It has been an all around great experience doing business with David. Not that I look forward to and think it s a great day when something goes wrong with my car but on the other hand I no long dread taking it in to get it fixed because I know I m getting a square deal.Thanks, David.

I would like to just say how wonderful David is, I am a single mother with a baby with medical problems. I had my fuel pump replaced by a man who did not care how the job was done, my fuel lines started to leak in which when I drove the vehicle it was great danger for me and my baby. I contacted David and ask for his help he came and picked up my truck and inspected and only to find the main fuel line was broke and also several fuel lines were leaking he fixed all my lines. Also he inspected the rest of my truck and let me know of issue that needed to be fixed that he could easily take care of. David's work is very professional he is legit and very good and reasonable at his work. Thank you David I appreciate all your help.

Both times David has worked on my 99 Isuzu Rodeo, he has done a wonderful job at VERY REASONABLE PRICES!!! The 1st time I thought it was my tranny leaking but he diagnosed it via text and determined that it was my power steering. He looked at it and determined it was in the power steering line. We ordered the part, he put it in & problem solved! The 2nd time my starter went out on me and not only did he replace it but he got me a VERY good deal on the starter! Both times I needed things fixed ASAP and he made that happen! I would highly recommend his services to anyone and will continue to refer to him as "my mechanic" Thanks so much David for everything!!!

I contacted Vaughn's due to the good reviews posted online. Unfortunately, my experience didn't match up with posted reviews.David is a nice guy, however I can't give him any points for quality of work.I went to him to replace my blower motor for my heater and an oil change. He told me that it would take about an hour and a half. He was kind enough to drop me off at a local cafe to wait while he worked. I walked back an hour and a half later to find another part would be required, plus he was missing supplies for the oil change. We ran over to the parts shop I bought what was needed, and he dropped me off at home while he finished the work.About 2 hours later, he brought the vehicle by. When checking it over, I noticed no air was coming from the vents, despite the blower motor obviously running. I pointed this out to David, and asked if he had checked that before bringing it by. He admitted to not doing so. I pointed out where the air was moving, and David realized he forgot to install a piece to direct the airflow to the vents.Another hour passed and David returned with the vehicle. Now air was coming out of the vents, though far less than one would expect. I paid him the agreed upon total, and he left.Shortly thereafter, I hopped in the vehicle only to notice the clock, radio, and dome light were no longer functioning. I texted David to inquire if he knew what could have caused it. He told me he wasn't sure, but would be back around the next day.The next day, when I looked at the car in the light, I noticed the dash was very loose and not well connected. There is is a gap where the fan is installed where much of the airflow is escaping. Also, some items were missing from my glove compartment. I'm not accusing David of theft. I'm sure he simply forgot to put everything back in after doing the repair.I gave him the next day to call me back, and the call never came. I texted the day after, asking if he would repair the pieces that were not up to par. He responded that he would only be able to check the fuses, and suggested that someone else may know more.I will be taking the car into another shop and paying someone else to complete the work he started and fix the poor workmanship on reattaching the dash.David only gets the second star for being a nice guy, keeping the agreed upon price, and being willing to give me a ride. The workmanship doesn't deserve more than one star in this case.

Mr Vaughn serviced new brake lines, brakes with ceramic shoes in the front, and new drums for the back. He provided honest and reliable service, with top of the line parts at a very reasonable cost. I feel safer driving down the road with new brakes, and not having to cut corners because of super inflated repair shop bills.

I give David 5+ stars. His service and prices were unbelievably reasonable. He did great work and had great communication with me. I don't think I'll have anybody else fix my car in the future. Thank you David.

This is one of the best auto shops in Wausau! I was looking for a shop to fix my truck and the prices were so expensive but the prices here are so reasonable it is awesome. The work was done right and it runs better then ever. Would recommend this guy to anyone who need their car fixed.
