Honest auto mechanics! Brought my car in to replace brakes. After an inspection, Amport called to inform me the brakes were just fine and they didn't suggest replacing the brakes yet because the pads were only worn 50% and the rotors were fine.Interestingly, a dealership mechanic had told me 6 months prior that the brakes were worn and should be replaced.Other mechanics may have just replaced the brakes. And, I was nicely surprised Amport didn't charge an inspection fee.I'll go back to Amport when my cars need service!

They had my vehicle since August for what I thought to be a diagnostic test for a no start problem, was told it would be 60 bucks! The only time I ever talked to a mechanic about progress was when I initiated a phone call. With the mechanic Zach or whatever his name is. Zach couldn t diagnose the problem, and that s when I got a phone call. 5 months later ,,, right before Christmas ! You owe 1500 in labor and parts for a vehicle that doesn t run still ! WTH ! Amport basically said pay us or sign over your title. Honestly at this point I was done ! Here ya go Merry Christmas !

So, let me just explain the situation and let you decide for yourselves.I called on a Thursday (shortly after a snowstorm, to be fair) and got an appointment for the following Tuesday to look into my '02 Silverado 1500's 4wd. I am a lay mechanic and the paid mechanics I spoke to listened to me, which I appreciated.I dropped the truck off on Monday night without incident. Tuesday, it was determined to be a ground/electrical issue. The new ground wire was not installed until the following day. The new ground wire was run from the ECM to the Transfer Case Control Module and seemed to address the issue successfully. The mechanic cycled the 4wd several times to make sure it was working and after several button mashings, *something* failed. I was told I could pick up the vehicle or leave it there/bring it back for further diagnostics, to address the issue.I was told that their diagnostic equipment was getting no signal from the transfer case control module(which I had just replaced with an OEM salvage part). I was told it could be that, the switch (which I had just replaced with an Amazon knockoff), ) or "something else", which is why the further diagnostic was required.Turns out, it was simply a burned out 20 amp ATC fuse, which I had told the shop had burned out before when trying to engage my 4wd.I replaced the fuse with a spare and my 4wd is working fine now. Now, if it were me, before I pulled the truck out of the shop to park it for a customer to come, I think I would have confirmed the fuse hadn't blown. it takes seconds to look and could ultimately result in a satisfied customer going out the door. For whatever reason, that did not happen.I'm glad my truck is working again, and I appreciate the work they did. The tech ran a good solid ground and did good work with that. But the fact that I drove my vehicle away still in a state of failure when a simple fuse was all that was needed seemed like low hanging fruit to me, and certainly not something warranting another 140/hr for labor or 80/her to diagnose.Would I still take a vehicle here? Probably, if I needed to. They are certainly more transparent than other places in the area. At the same time, I would recommend prudence, discipline, and caution in figuring some things out yourself, or getting additional opinions to avoid unnecessary repairs costs. That being said, I appreciated Zack(?) and John's help in getting my truck's 4wd going again this winter. It ultimately took 1 1/2 days, $307 in the shop, a simple fuse replaced by myself(not to mention the actuator and encoder motor I had already replaced) and a totally unnecessary purchase of another TCCM to get myself safely travelling with 4wd again.Ultimately, my experience with this shop was average to slightly above average. They were able to get me in while most other shop's were almost a month out for scheduling. Not the best customer service, but the techs themselves were responsive, were willing to listen and behaved and spoke thoughtfully. So I had a decent experience with the people I dealt with but can not vouch for the business as a whole as I've only had this isolated experience with them.I would recommend this business, but with the same caution and caveats as any auto shop. Most auto shops are either decent, or criminal. My experience with this one had been decent so far.

I asked for a quote on some services. They wouldn't give me a quote unless I brought the vehicle in and left it for them to examine. Which was whatever. But then they performed the service without my authorization and charged me for it. Which would normally have been fine. Except that they charged me $350 for an engine air filter, cabin air filter, and an oil change. If I bought the most premium air filters it would have costed me a combined $30(they used cheapo car quest ones), and installation of both of them would have taken 15 minutes maximum. At $120/hr for labor should have only been an extra $30-$60.The oil change itself was a fair price, in my opinion. But I was ridiculously ripped off for the filter service they did.A few weeks later I brought it back for sparkplugs and transmission fluid change. The price wasn't great, but it was manageable($867). They used cheap ngk iridiums and charged $23/plug for them. I understand a shop needs a markup, but 380%? Overall this whole experience was only $200 less than the dealership would have charged, and the dealership would have performed more services.I only went here because my friends spoke highly of them and their service. But honestly I'm pretty disappointed overall. The workmanship is good, the value for money isn't there. I don't think I will be returning or recommending this particular shop to anyone. Unless they only need an oil change. It would be a 2/5 but the mechanics/front desk staff were friendly and easy to talk to.

It was a fast and easy emissions test. Even the guy that performed the emissions test had my car facing towards the road.

Took my son's car in for an emissions test and they were super fast and answered all the questions I had. (The guy behind the desk was pretty nice looking, too.) Thank you all and I will be recommending you to friends!!

Do not let them talk you into getting your vehicle registered right at the shop if you take it in for an emissions test. They will tell you it s a small fee when really it s $12. You re way better off just doing it on your own online and Saving yourself $12. In my opinion that isn t a small fee . So you will pay the $85 registration fee PLUS $12

I went there twice within a week, once for an emissions test and then a week later for an oil change and also for them to help me get my license plate on since the screws and broke. The guys there were friendly, fast, and really helpful. Reasonably priced as well. Will very likely go there again when needed.Services: Auto emissions testing, Oil changeServices: Auto emissions testing, Oil change

Some of the rudest people I've ever encountered! Will never go back for anything. Guy working yelled at me about "staying in the office" I had never even seen or spoken to him. I pulled up and they simply told me to wait. Saying nothing about where. Wouldn't explain to me why my car failed or what could be done to fix it. Took it to another shop and they explained that this shop was incompetent and failed my vehicle for a tmps light. Which isn't a legitimate failure reason. Absolute 0/5 stars. Go here if you want to encounter the worst customer service experience possible.

I brought my car here to have a custom exhaust cat back put on from the previous one falling off due to age and weather. They did an absolute amazing job working with me and the car and making my exhaust sound amazing and also structurally strong. Would 11/10 bring my vehicle back for anything, thanks again guys I really do appreciate itService: Auto exhaust system repair

Initially was really relieved to find what we thought was a trustworthy, thorough and affordable auto shop. Since our first time in, the experience has declined significantly. My mother had her car looked at and was quoted one price, then when she went to pick it up the price had gone up quite a bit-- other work was done without prior approval. We let the lack of communication slide and gave them the benefit of the doubt.Back in September, we had my car in for an obvious noise coming from the back of the vehicle. The back breaks needed to be done, but it took THREE trips to the shop and $500+ in other repairs before that simple issue was diagnosed. Unfortunately, because of this we're no longer confident the other repairs were entirely necessary. On top of all of that, I asked them to give the car a good look over since I planned on going on a longer distance trip. Just four days later, the car suddenly has MORE issues. I won't be able to drive it. Before all of this, the car was in great working order. Turns out they are not thorough and they've completely lost our trust. Definitely will not be taking any of our vehicles back there.

Extremely rude service people. Stay away from this place. They won't let you bring in store bought parts that would help you save money in the long run. They take TOO MUCH pride having their own parts supplied...which is why they will overcharge you till your wallet is dry. They are a business built on greed. Look elsewhere.

My husband first took his car here for exhaust work, Fantastic service. He then took in another vehicle for exhaust work as well - Again Fantastic service. So, when the check engine light went on in my car, my husband initially replaced the O2 sensor twice, but it kept coming back on. So, I took it down to Amport, they fixed it right away - I tell you, it is really nice to finally have a auto shop in Waukesha where you can trust their service. The prices are fair, but I love the great customer service. They are always polite and respectful. Thanks Guys - Keep up the Great job!!

Been to these guys a couple of times just to check things out. I can say they are super friendly and honest. Every time I've been there they never charged me to look at something and never tired to sell me unneeded work. My daughter just got her first car and I send her to those guys. They treat her the same way they treat me. Great guys and great rates.

Thoroughly impressed with the knowledge of both import and export vehicles. customer service is worth writing home about. The personal atmosphere that this business creates allows customers to be knowledgeable about their vehicles in ways the many automotive business' in the area cannot provide. The tech will talk you through the issue with the vehicle and explain how they will fix it in the most cost effective way. There is not enough stars on this review to express gratification that you get when you take your car to Amport Auto Services.

I recently had my brakes serviced here. I've been coming here for my brakes since the early 2000's and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. They don't push any service on you, you're not going to find awards, plaques, or trophies for selling the most service (...dealerships), they do recommend what's best for you and it's honest work. I used to get the cheap brake pads, but I found myself coming back here more often. The shop recommended that I get the next level up and it really didn't cost that much more, but my brakes did last MUCH LONGER, reducing the amount of visits to this shop. I've also had other services done here and no complaints.I'm very big on supporting the local family business and I hit a home run with AMPORT.........they also do emissions here......

After working at Amport Auto Services for 6 years I can tell you that this is by far the best company I have worked for. Tom and Jean are model citizens that uphold every value of a great business owner. There is a reason why most of the areas successful dealerships bring majority of their work to this company. At the end of the day this review is not financially motivated, but to ensure that the people of Southeastern Wisconsin have the same experience of outstanding business ethics as I have.

My first time there for a broken brake line. They gave me a estimate for the complete job, not a band aid fix.I said go ahead. The work was done in workmanship standards. They were up front with all the details.i even had them check other things that might need fixing cause the truck has been sitting.they said everything was good.this place is very trust worthy, won't fix things if it don't need to be fix just to make a fast buck.I got the bill and it was cheaper than what the estimate was.will be coming back. It's nice to know that there are honest people in a world we live in today.God bless all that reads this
