I brought a Ford truck with a DTC 1744 to Auto Pros, and I dealt with the owner directly. I told him what I had done to try to fix the problem (replaced transmission solenoid pack) and told him that I suspected that either the torque converter was bad or that there was an electrical problem. He said he would hook up his scanner and find out. After he "performed" a pressure check, he called me and said that his scanner confirmed that the torque converter was bad. I asked if he could replace the front pump at the same time, but he said that wasn't necessary because his scanner identified that it was the torque converter. I authorized the work and paid him $899.50 when I picked up the vehicle. Within a mile of picking up my vehicle I knew the problem was not fixed and within 5 miles the check engine light came back on. I immediately called him and told him that the problem still existed. I asked him if he checked pressures again after he put in the new torque converter. He said he didn't. When I asked him what scanner he used, he said Snap On. I said that is a brand, which scanner did you use. He then admitted that his scanner wasn't capable of checking pressures. So he lied when he originally told me that he checked pressures and confirmed that the torque converter was bad. He then told me that I should probably bring it to a dealer and then hung up. At no point was I rude. The actual problem turned out to be a bad wire. With the right scanner he would have discovered this. The torque converter replacement was not necessary and I only authorized the work because of his lie. I'm working with BBB to resolve this, but the owner is just continuing to lie even if he contradicts himself. He told BBB that he used an internet search to determine the most common cause of my trouble code, apparently forgetting that he told me he used his scanner to check pressures to find the problem. Maybe lying is new for Paul and he will get better at it over time. The unnecessary work Auto Pros did was fine, it just wasn't necessary and Paul can't seem to stop lying. Oh, he also admitted that he bought parts at AutoZone and marked them up by about $100 because he needs to make money.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

I recently had a brake line replaced by Auto Pro's, they did a great job and even saved me money! Plus even tho I didn't have an appointment, they got me in and I got my can the next morning!!
