I hate putting bad reviews out there, but I took my Jeep here because I heard good things from people I know. It took forever to get anything done, they kept blaming the insurance company, which insurance did drop the ball a bit. But when I got the Jeep back, parts weren't painted!! They didn't cover the rear of the Jeep and dust covered everything inside the Jeep, it was a complete mess. They put the wrong bumper on, they did take care of that for me on their dime (not sure who to blame here, but they resolved it). Now I have to pay $545 to Dodge dealer to get the sensors fixes, they were put in wrong. I called them and left a message a week ago and haven't heard anything (Update - few months and nothing). This has been going on for 5 months, took it back 4 times for different issues. Now I wish I didn't give them the deductible money until this was all fixed!!! So now, I am most likely paying another $545 out of my pocket because they didn't put the bumper sensors on right. Super nice and friendly people, but I will never take a vehicle back there. I have never seen someone paint a part on the vehicle, usually you do it off and then install it. They didn't even take the plastic parts off the tailgate, they just painted the used parts, and you can see the used parts were off a black Jeep prior. They also wiped down the outside with a dirty towel, you can see on the picture all the swirl marks (way worse in person). They took it back and buffed them out, but still there. Furthermore, they did fix some things, but seemed annoyed with it, but it was their fault for not doing it correctly the first time.Services: Painting, Electrical, Body & Trim

Unprofessional, rude and hostile. I was charged a ripoff price, the quality of work was poor and incomplete, I was yelled at, swore at and threatened by the owner. I will never come back here and strongly suggest to anyone reading this to AVIOD State of the Art Auto Body.

Highly recommend - came in looking for a quote for some light rust removal, fully expecting to leave the car with them and come back to a $500-1000 or more repair bill. Darryl came out, took a quick look, and then used some sort of magic potion and the rust literally melted off with intact paint underneath. The man is a magician! I hope I don't have a need for any other body work soon, but if and when I do, these guys will be my first call. I took my '98 Chevy p/u in with small dent in the tailgate. They fixed the dent and color matched the 22 year old dark blue paint. They were able to blend the paint color and save the original custom pin stripping. I highly recommend them for body and paint.Services: Painting, Body & TrimServices: Painting, Body & Trim

I've found my go-to auto body shop. Daryl provided excellent service - he walked me through options and what he'd recommend and why. He was kind, treated me like a person rather than a transaction, and did great work. He completed the job a day early and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Took the time to talk about how the work was going to be done for my 2013 camaro. Did a good job on the hood by fixing a dent and painting it by color code.

On the recommendation of a friend of mine I checked this place out. He said they could fix my car for nearly half the price of one of the big name body shops. Well my friend was right. I'll definitely be recommending this shop to anybody who needs quality work done quickly for a good price. Both the owner Jack and the gentleman I primarily spoke to Chuck are very knowledgeable and don't want you to have to overspend for unnecessary costs.If I ever need more body work done I'm going back to State of the Art Auto

Bottom line up front, this business is run by talented and honorable men. They're honest, timely in providing updates throughout the process, and take sincere pride in their craftsmanship. I absolutely could not be more impressed with the level of their work and attention to detail. I sincerely recommend State of the Art Auto Body to care for your vehicle every bit as much you do.

Jack, the owner is a straight to point, no-nonsense guy. I appreciate that. I've always been weary of auto shops because it's hard to trust that they'll be honest and not money hungry, but this place is great and after using their services multiple times over the years, my worry has been alleviated when dealing with them. Just had my side mirror painted and replaced and I am pleased with the job and the price I paid. Literally 3x's less than Maaco would have charged me. Two thumbs up.

Really fast service. I got an estimate on Monday, they had the part on Tuesday and could have had it done that same day if I could have left work to get it there. They fixed it in a morning. As a comparison it took 5 days to get an appointment for an estimate at a chain body shop. Fair pricing. Great communication. Highly recommend.

Had to return our vehicle 3 times due to things not done right. It definitely wasn't professional work. Even after the 3rd time it still looks unprofessional so we are taking it to M&M Autobody.

I've been asking for years for a referral for a good, affordable, honest, local body shop. I've tried Gates, Advance, Maaco, Abra, all the big names and even a few smaller local ones. Abra was always the cheapest, and while I had no issues with them, I always wanted to find a small town local option.My aunt told me about State of the Art and I brought my car there today.It's off the beaten path, technically in Sun Prairie, but I didnt see anything nearby except farms and a few homes. There's a no frills parking lot and a circa 1980 office where you walk in. The shop itself is more modern looking, and clean, but still very no frills.Chuck was very friendly and knowledgeable, as was Jack. They were very concerned about giving me the best value as a customer. Since my car was over 10 years old, they didnt want me to pay for anything unnecessary, unlike the chain shops that are more concerned about bringing everything back to factory condition.Jack is the owner, and Chuck says he's been working for him for over 30 years. They said most of their business comes from repeat customers and referrals. It's easy to see why.I'll definitely be going to them first in the future.

Darly does body and paint work at a fraction of what other shops do. They stand by their work and were happy to address a couple slight imperfections I saw after getting my car back. Thanks for fixing the paint on my car guys!

Had no idea these guys turn out the best work in Dane County!A friend referred me,I said, "it's a little out of town and doesn't look as nice as some of the other body shops."He said, "If you're not happy with the results, I will pay the bill!"They under promise and over deliver... and your not paying for that over head like those fancy body shop places. So, if that's not enough, they treat you like an individual. The personal attention and communication was amazing. Some of you may find the communication to be little old school via phone calls and face to face only. Honestly, I think that's their secret to delivering such great service.

I would definitely recommend this shop. Jack, the owner, was great to work with. Prices were incredibly reasonable and much less than what bigger shops charge. I was very pleased with the results and with how fast they did the work. This is a top notch local business to support!
