Got my car stuck in a ditch earlier today and called Prairieland Towing, tow truck came within 30 minutes after the phone call and it only took about 10ish minutes to get my car out of the ditch. I am really happy with the tow truck driver Adam who really helped me out when I was in a pinch no damage happened to the car definitely recommend their services

I want to give a shout out to Prairie land Towing and Derek Wagner. I picked up my vehicle from being repaired at a shop. They didnt fix it properly. The brake caliper wasnt not bolted on. I drove about a mile and the brake calipher and off and broke the rim. I called another towing company and gjey put me on hold. So i called Prairie towing. They said it would be 45 minutes. About 15 minutes later i received a call from Derek. He was there within 5 minutes. After he dropped the vehicle back at the shop. I paid for the tow. I wanted a receipt for the tow in an email. Well around 11 pm i didnt habe a receipt. I contacted Derek by text. He said he was off work but would make sure i received a receipt. After my conversation with Derek. I checked my e mail and Dispatch emailed me the receipt. Thank you Derek for your quick response and professionalism. Thank s for going above and beyond. It Is hard to find employees that will take care of a customer even when not on the clock. Take care of your customers and they will tale care of you! Alan D. Foss

Our family recently experienced a significant car crash that involved my son rolling over multiple times. Anyone that has ever experienced something like this understands the level of trauma not only the people directly involved have, but their families as well. As we began to pick up the pieces, we came into contact with a woman that identified herself as Nicole. As my son described his experience with Nicole, his aunt/my sister then called attempting to get answers (she called given she lives in Sun Prairie). She also spoke with Nicole. With still no success, I called with a clear strategy to approach whoever answered the phone with kindness, sincerity, and professionalism. I too spoke with a woman identifying herself as Nicole. From the moment she answered the phone, she presented as impolite demonstrated by the aggressive tone of her voice and refusal to answer a direct question. Once she figured out that I was the 3rd person calling about the same car and questioning why we were being told that even though the tow lot was open, we could not come to get personal belongings (most importantly needed were prescribed medications) from the car, she stated to me "I am not dealing with you people today." I asked to speak with her manager. She said that she is the weekend manager. I then asked to speak with a Director or Owner. She said he was not available and given they are a private company, she can refuse to allow access to anyone. What is important to note here is not the exchange within itself, but the way this woman spoke to me as I was still processing the fact that my son was not dead. That no matter how polite I tried to speak with her, she seemingly wouldn't or couldn't do the same. Not only was the experience completely unprofessional, Nicole was rude, insensitive, and just nasty. She threatened to hang up on me as I insisted that the owner give me a call. She seemed to indicate taking my name and phone number down stating he would call me Monday. I never received a call back. As I have read the variety of reviews about this company, I am deeply saddened and disappointed to see the plethora of reviews reporting similar experiences yet not only does this woman still remain employed, this company remains in business. It will take every person collectively coming together to refuse services by this company and for the police and other emergency responders or landlords to start to use another company. It might be a stretch given how big this company is, but it is not impossible. I would give "0" ZERO stars, but 1 is required in order to post, so that is the reason for 1 star.

Had a great experience with Prairie Land Towing when my car was stuck in the snow. Came within the hour that they said, and Joe quickly helped get me out. Professional work and made me feel safe and well coaches through the experience.

I just have to share my experience with prairieland towing its a good laugh. I called my vehicle broke down a few days ago. morning around 8 am..it was cold. They said they were busy and could not get to me until the next day, which is understandable we just had several inches of snow and below zero temps days prior. I had another tow company and same answer but later the same day they could get it. I had to get to work and had a coworker pick me up and left it on a non-busy county hwy. Police were called and prairie land towing was then call and within 3 hours my car was towed without me being notified. Thank you prairie land towing for your fast service and $600 bill. I called and it was an emergency and deemed a hazard.

If you get to choose who tows your vehicle DON T CHOOSE Prairie Land Towing. My daughter was in a car accident on Sunday 8/14/22. So my husband went to Prairie Land the next day, 8/15/22, to get it out, the bill was $1696.62 (Proof in the pictures)! There is so much wrong with this bill. But the biggest is the amount is outrageous! We knew there would be a bill but not this large.Service: Car towing

Business exist for profit but prairie land towing uses exploiting and inequitable practices to ensure taking the maximum amount of money from people.1. Refused to give itemized invoice stating charges until cash was given to them. - this is illegal2. only open from the hours of 9 AM to 4 PM making it impossible for someone to get their car if work business hours. (And only the owner can pick up the vehicle, see 5)3. charge an extra $150 for special equipment , without telling you what special equipment was used and adding this charge to any illegal tow even if it is from the street.4. Require that you pay in cash but do not have onsite ATM. Some people do not have $350 laying around.5. Require owner of the title of the car to pick it up- this is not a standard practice, city of Madison towing does not even require this- making it impossible for anyone but the car owner to pick up the car.Do not give them your business. The policies above exist for them to get maximum profit- the harder it is to get your car, the longer you keep it there, the more they can charge you in storage fees . The policies impact low income and marginalized groups even more, and not everyone has the resources to cope with these unethical practices. DO BETTER.

Charged for 2 days of storage when car sat in lot for less than 20 hours and they weren t even open before hand to get the car asap. Also was charged $1000+ for a $250 job. They then proceeded to drop my car in a foot of snow.

If I could give this place a zero Stars I would they damaged my car while towing it I would not recommend to anyone to use this company ever. I am glad to see you responded to my comment the tow truck driver admitted to damaging my vehicle when my car is done getting fixed it will be going to get an estimate at a auto body shop I have been in contact with Sammy from Prairie Land so you guys are very well aware of the damage caused to the vehicle from towing it period.

Adam from prairie land towing deserves the Good Samaritan award. Driving down the interstate with my 4 daughters our roof rack snapped in half and our water sport boards jack knifed (and luckily did not fly off). I pulled over to call my husband who was a bit ahead of us. Then prairie land towing pulled up and Adam helped us figure things out. He got the boards off, kept us all safe, and once my husband was there worked to get everything moved so we could depart. We would have been stuck without him. He gave me his card and didn t want anything in return. He said he just wanted to be sure we were safe. He went above and beyond!! I am forever grateful for his help!!

Car just got towed. New parking permits that are out of date can t even be updated on the weekend because our apartments office is closed. And of course, this tow place is open 24 hours but conveintly, pickups only tell 1 so they get to charge you more money for another day! Scummy.

I'm blown away by the generosity, professionalism and the attitude of going above and beyond by a tower named Adam.Family and I were stranded in the median in Madison WI after our tired shredded off. We called another tow company but they couldn't show up for over an hour. Blessedly, a tower named Adam from Prairie Land Towing saw us and stopped to check in on us. He volunteered to take us to the next truck stop and help us replace the tire with a spare. He put the van, family and all, onto his flatbed and got us safely there. Unfortunately, we had no spare, so he called a local tired company and convinced them to stay open so we could get a replacement. Adam didn't even end up charging us his whole fee for the endeavor. We were incredibly pleased and blessed by his help :)Services: Car towing, Tire change

The tow-drivers are awesome and I can only hope they are paid properly given how money-hungry and conniving this company tends to be. Service & towing are disconnected but will try to manipulate your bill/charges between the two. They seem to just add charges passively and then when you explain that you were told something else previously, the excuse is you must have been talking to someone else . Not to mention, they are all so rude on the phone, and obviously also frustrated by the company s failed communication tactics. I would give 5 stars to Adam individually, the night worker that helped initially and is not actively trying to rob people like the rest of Prairie Land :-)Service: Car towing

My Jeep sprung a radiator related leak and a gas leak on the side of highway 51. Adam is Wonderful he was very prompt he was experienced he' knew exactly what he was doing and the price was reasonable. I even learned how to get my car a neutral without the push button start. Adam was very helpful and funny I would recommend him and this business to anyone. I was left on the side of the road for over an hour waiting for roadside assistance through progressive insurance they never came ! I was scared with all the heavy traffic and the big Semi's going by shaking my truck but I was not about to leave Silver. She has been a phenomenal vehicle for me and I will be there for her. Adam was there within 10 minutes. Thank God for Prairieland towing service. I am very angry with progressive. Flo lied to me.

Seriously the best towing company I could have used. My cars catalytic converter was stolen and I needed my car to get towed to go have it fixed. Adam showed up and as soon as I started talking to him, not only did he help with telling me my insurance was sending it to the wrong place but he also helped tell me where my car needed to go. He was with me for about an hour and was so patient on waiting for my insurance to approve my tow. And then when it seemed like they weren't going to he was still helpful and said that we will get your car to where it needs to go. I was super stressed out during this whole thing and Adam's sense of humor just made me be able to relax a little bit. Adam even took a picture of me for my parents for memories. As well as a picture underneath my car of my missing cat. I seriously wouldn't have wanted any other tow from another company. It was probably the best portion of this whole car mishap. Thanks again Adam for all your help and I appreciate you looking out for me!Service: Car towing

Saturday night, August 19, I was towing a trailer and once we got to the Dells, I noticed a horrible bang. I pulled off the interstate and on the off ramp of exit 92. At this time we noticed our hitch had lost 2 of the 4 bolts needed to keep it attached to my vehicle. Derek Wagner of Prairie Land Towing & Service Center was on his way home after his shift. He took time on his time off in a Saturday night to help us and make sure we got to a safe place until our other vehicle could arrive to finish towing our trailer. Derek was VERY helpful and made our anxiety less in a very stressful situation. I highly recommend this company if you ever need assistance! Thank you very much, Derek!!Service: Special vehicle towing

My car s transmission gave out while I was driving down the interstate 35 minutes north of Madison. Adam went 35 minutes out of Madison to come and help us at the rest area we were stuck at. He made engaging conversation as well as jokes which made me feel better after all that happened. He gave us his card, and took off 2 miles for the towing charge. He let us know that we could use the receipt to be reimbursed via towing insurance as well. Overall, Adam was helpful stand up guy, and treated us like we were good friends. Would recommend Adam got a promotion!Service: Special vehicle towing

My car's alternator died without warning in the middle of driving through Madison, in a spot where I had no safe place to pull over. Prairie Land Towing's driver, Adam, got to my car in about 5 minutes; towed me out of traffic; and then towed me to a repair shop of my choosing. This was hands down the fastest and best roadside service I have ever had. Adam was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and super professional. He turned a bad day into a good day and I would highly recommend you or anyone reading this to choose Prairie Land Towing because you are not going to get better service than this.

This place is money hungry. I can take responsibility that I parked in the wrong spot that is no problem but to charge $350 to get it out is not right. I got charged $145 because they had to use special equipment so I asked the apartment complex to let me see the video well they used standard towing chains. I think this place takes advantage of people thinking they don t know their rights. I am definitely looking into this and will be filing a complaint.

Thank you Prairie Land Towing! Traveling to Sun Prairie, we had a major trailer problem towing my boat. Called Trinity she assisted quickly and notified their towing tech who called immediately letting us know timing. Jacob showed up and knew what he was doing, very professional! During the tow, we had a terrestrial rain storm, and I forgot to remove my drain plug - texted Jacob, he took care of removing the plug and sent a message and pic. Again, thank you.Service: Special vehicle towing

The tow truck driver Adam called me to let me know he was on his way and he promptly arrived, got me safe in his truck while he rigged my car for towing, then towed me home safely in a jiffy. He was kind, professional, friendly, and assuring; he made me feel all right after my accident. This is my first ever Google review just to thank him and his company for doing a spectacular job like clockwork.Service: Car towing

It s bad enough when you get stranded. But if you make the mistake to call this tow service, be prepared to go from bad to worse! Called, placed on hold immediately. Ok, fine. Sat on hold for 30 minutes. Then someone came on the phone that sounded like they were laying in bed taking phone calls. Asked to hold again, 10 minutes later the same person came back and said something was on the desk and put me on hold again. Another 10 minutes went by, and when this individual came back to the call, they were so distracted they couldn t form a sentence without stopping every 3rd word. Large pause, then started the sentence over and paused again. This went on 3-4 times. Then nothing. They went somewhere and left the line open. 5 minutes later they announced they were back with a sorry about that and now after almost an hour on the phone asked what I needed. Finally!! When I said where I was and that I needed a tow from A to B, they I formed me they were already booked for the day (it was 6:40am) and could it wait until two days from now. I explained again that I was roadside and stranded. Oh, I missed that part was the reply and followed up with a let me check . No other words and I was put on hold again. After an additional 10 minutes with no one coming back, I hung up. NEVER going to make the mistake to call this joke of a towing service ever again!! I called another local company and had a tow and got me to a service location within 25 minutes. If you need help, or need reliable and caring service; do yourself a favor and don t waste your time with Prairie Land Towing.Answering a phone call for a tow is beyond their abilities, towing your car is likely far outside their scope of competence as well given the call and dispatch experience I had.Worst tow experience ever!Edit: Owner asks for date of service 2+ months later. Date of incident 12/12/22.I hope you are able to determine who was responsible for the total lack of service I received that day. They lost you my patronage permanently and are destroying your business. It was completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

I have mixed feelings. I live in a lot with private parking. Bought a new car and didn t transfer the permit and still was blind to the VERY clear no trespassing signs, so I do have to take responsibility for paying the tow fee. I am also aware their prices are regulated by state ordinances, which is also fair. Also, they at least used the right equipment for my car because at initial inspection everything looks fine. What I do disagree with is the premise that they are partnered with my landlord to prevent outside use from our lot and that s what they care about. If that s the case, why not have a database where you can at least look up a license plate to see if the car belongs to a resident? It would be so easy to implement and would prevent residents from being unnecessarily towed and paying out of pocket. If something like that existed they would ve seen I transferred my plate to my new car. I m just left confused and with a lot of questions, but at least my property isn t destroyed.Service: Car towing

Huge shoutout to Adam who came to our rescue on a busy, rainy Friday night during rush hour traffic in Madison. We had hit a pot hole on University Avenue blowing a hole in our tire. We called Prairie Land Towing as we did not have a spare and luckily they sent Adam to help. Adam confidently and cheerfully found a service center that was open, towed us and our car to the center and kept our spirits up with his friendly and helpful demeanor. The service and professionalism provided by Adam is a rare commodity today. Thank you Prairie Land Towing for having Adam on your staff!Service: Car towing
