Traveling to see family and could actually hear the air leaking from a tire. Pulled off the interstate looked up and just like an angel there was Hammers Auto! Stopped in and they were soooo kind and helpful. Quickly fixed us up and got us on our way. Highly recommend !

Brought my car here to be aligned after another shop failed twice at it. They listed to my concerns, and fixed the alignment and satisfied my OCD by making my steering wheel perfectly straight. Just took it on a long trip and was so happy to have a car driving straight again. I'm very picky with shops and my cars. I do all the work I can myself on my cars. If I ever have a non warranty issue, that I can't fix, I'd bring my cars back here again!

Collin and team were very helpful with a very strange issue my car was going through. I had been to 2 other shops prior that either did not feel comfortable troubleshooting anymore or could not figure out the issue on my VW Jetta.Hammers Auto was able to to get to the bottom of the issue and finally fixed my vehicle after going through multiple mechanics and attempts elsewhere.Service: Engine repair

The service itself was good, the problem was the insane price. For two hoses and a coolant flush, $960. I can t tell anyone how to run their business or what to charge, but they charge top dollar pricing. Keep in mind when considering them

Collin and Jessica have been wonderful with helping us with all of our car maintenance needs! After moving to the area, my husband and I were looking for a reputable place to take our cars. The staff has been informative, patient with any questions, honest (doesn't try and push any services that aren't needed) and has helped us out in a pinch with getting our car taken care of on short notice. Called Hammers Auto Monday morning & worked with Collin. My vehicle went from being completely messed up and towed to their shop to back on the road before they closed the NEXT DAY, you guys rock!!! Highly recommend this mechanic, extremely prompt, professional, & was all at a great price!

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would... My wife's car broke down, the car was brought here to diag.nose... they said it was a gear shift cable and they gave us an estimate of 1100 dollars.... they charged us 169 dollars for the estimate... My son is an auto mechanic and looked at the car after the diagnosis, and it ended up being a 30 dollar part... NOT THE CABLE, NOT THE GEAR SHIFT, just a simple 15 minute repair with a 30 dollar part! What a ripoff this place is... I would NEVER take my car here... there is no excuse for this attempted robbery.

I recently ran into an issue with my car that I needed to be inspected and tried to make an appointment at a big local dealer but I couldn t get in. I have driven past Hammer Auto on and off for about a year now and decided to try them. I could not have been happier! They got my car in and diagnosed promptly and their customer service was excellent. Their ended up being a billing issue (on their end) that they noticed the next day and brought it to my attention right away. I could not be more appreciative of their honesty, service work and customer service. Thanks again to Hammer Auto!Service: Wheel alignment

Collin is the best!! I ll be taking my car there from now on because of him. Great customer service and great help. As a young female most guys treat females poorly and think they are dumb when it comes to cars. He was extremely respectful and explained everything in good detail. 1000/1000 stars.

Collin in the front office has exceptional customer service, the team was able to diagnose the problem and give me a quote in a very timely matter. They worked with me to make the best decision for my vehice and they were able to complete a pretty labor intensive job and have me back on the road the next day and they gave me a lender vehicle to use while my my car was being worked on. Collin and the team at Hammers made quick work of the hesitation issue in my engine which had been occurring for nearly a year. Even though routine testing showed no codes, their thorough approach got to the core of the problem. I had my car back the same day, and am happy to say it is running great. Collin was polite and knowledgeable, and I had a loaner car for the day. I highly recommend Hammers auto! Thank you.

The team at Hammers was great to work with from beginning to end! Collin responded to my initial repair inquiry within one day. I was looking for rust/cosmetic repair and he referred me to another business because that isn t something they specialize in. He could ve just told me no and left it at that. Knowing I had other issues that needed attention and because of how quickly he responded, I went right back to them within a few days to get some mechanical repairs taken care of first. Again, Collin responded within a day. I was able to get my Jeep into them in the next couple of days and on the day of drop off I received a call about all of my repair concerns and other items that could use attention (I did ask for them to give it a once over for anything else). After giving Collin the go ahead, I received a call the next day saying it was ready for pickup which was somewhat of a surprise! I was given an estimate of a one to two day turnaround, but there was a lot of work to be done and some of it not so minor. I stopped in the next day to pick up my Jeep and had a very nice conversation with the woman behind the desk (I can t recall her name) about the free loaner car they provided me. She gave me the invoice and again I was shocked, it was actually about $200 less than the quote I received on the phone! I love Hammer's Auto. If I ever need anything done on my car, they are the ones I call. They can almost always get me in right away and their prices are definitely fair. I've had brakes and suspension work done there (as well as odds and ends, headlights, etc.) and know that I can trust Hammer's. They are super quick with repairs but also have courtesy vehicles if it's going to take a bit longer. I won't take my car anywhere else now. After recently moving to the area car troubles weren't on the top of my list of things I wanted to deal with. I had driven by Hammers Auto a few times and it seemed like a nice place so I gave them a call to see if they could take a look at my wife's car. Colin was very friendly and helpful, he got me scheduled at my earliest convenience and seemed genuinely eager to please. I dropped the car off for them to diagnose the issues and they did so in a timely manner. I had a great conversation with Colin on the phone where he thoroughly explained what was wrong and reassured me of the positive things he saw during the inspection. The estimated cost of repairs was high so I had to do a little thinking and some research but ultimately I think their pricing was really fair. I've rarely seen parts cost more than labor especially for the labor intensive work that I needed done but with these guys they kept it honest and accurate. I think they do great work and that they truly have your best interest in mind as a customer and they certainly do a great job of making you feel appreciated for bringing your work to them.

Stop shopping around and get your vehicles into Hammer's because it's Hammer's time!!! Alright, cheesy yes but necessary!!! Collin is a service guru or genie or something hard to find. He's very knowledgeable and communicates greatly with his team and with customers. I can't speak highly enough of the Hammer's too as they've been VERY helpful and accommodating in my multiple car scenarios. I've been there twice and will continue to go there not just because of great value, great pricing, professionalism, courtesy, great quality work but Collin seriously washed AND vacuumed out my van!!!! Yeah, I have 3 kids (need I say more)!!! I will keep going and keep telling my friends, family, perfect strangers to take their business to Hammer's because...you know what time it is

After taking my car to a Mercedes dealership in Waukesha, being lied to and getting an estimate that I KNEW was too high/unnecessary I knew I had to seek a second opinion. I found Hammers through the Costco recommended repair shops/discount program. From diagnosis to completion I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with their service. At each point of the diagnosis and repair I was spoken to in a friendly manner AND as a valued customer. I was very happy with their honest, straight-forward communication, prompt updates, the use of a quality loaner vehicle, clean waiting room and covid sensitive employee behaviors. I'm SO happy to have found a place to take my Mercedes that will be well taken care of without the worry of paying for more than is necessary, at an HONEST PRICE. Thank you Hammers! Needed an auto shop to charge our Cruise N Comfort air conditioner for our camper van, and these were the only guys in Madison who were confident enough to do it for us. They were very friendly, professional, and got everything done in a timely manner. They even gave us a loaner vehicle to use while we waited. Would definitely recommend these guys to anyone in the area!

UPDATED REVIEW **** 6/25/2020Since i cant create a new review, ill just add to my previous one. Hammers did such a great job with our impala, we decided to let them handle our broken down 2002 Escape. Collin set up a tow truck to come pick it up. they evaluated the damage due to a broken cradle, and replaced it along with some other components. were so glad they were able to fix it. we really didnt want another car note right now! as someone who has worked in automotive my entire adult life. im glad i found a business like this that we can put our full trust in!Collin was great to work with, we had a check engine light issue with our vehicle. I was able to communicate and schedule a drop off with him through email. the diagnosis and repair was done quickly, our car was done when he said it would be. They also performed a courtesy check and a wash!!! come on now! im glad to have found a good, honest shop to give my business.

Hammer Auto Service did a great job doing my alignment, oil change and fixing my bumper step on my truck. The service is outstanding and prices are very reasonable! They also were very helpful giving me a loaner to use so I could get to work.

Took our vehicle in to this place because of recommendation. Never again will I be using their services. First of all they didn't put my parking brakes back on correctly after replacing my brakes. When we took it back to them to have them fix it they gave us 2 options, 1 we pay for the repair or we get refunded on our brakes. Not even a month later I'm having the same problems I had when I took it in a month ago. This time found out that the whole thing was an $8 fix. Smh don't recommend them at all. Th response from the owner on this has me laughing as well, the original problem I brought it in for was not the brakes, it was my car overheating!!! I literally called about motor and transmission, brakes we just and extra job. Also it was stated we would have to pay for the brakes to be fixed or else we could get a refund. But ill let yall be stuck on the brakes that you messed up.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This is not your typical auto shop! The staff at Hammers are professional, HONEST and reliable. I love that they offer loaner cars and I appreciate the cleanliness of the shop. I moved nearby Hammers recently and had a tire issue because I ran over a nail in my newly constructed neighborhood. I proceeded to drive over another nail 3 weeks later and returned for a similar repair. They fixed it, and refused to charge me even though I admitted it was a different repair needed in my tire. They still refused my money. I've never left a car repair shop wanting to give them money...you've got a life long customer here.

Super grateful for Colin and the Hammers Auto staff.
