I picked Das Mechanic for the high reviews although it was far from my house . And boy I m so glad I did ! The owner Gabor is one of the most honest mechanics you will find in your life . He takes the time to explain what is good or wrong with your car . He even try to save you money ! I cannot say enough good things about this place !not a surprise he is the king of European car fixing , in his garage I saw BMW, Audi, VW , Volvo , Porsche etc . His employees are just like the owner polite , knowledgeable and professional. I strongly recommend this repair shop ! And the he also has the best affordable real pics in town !

Last of a dying breed. Over the weekend my car had misfired which set off the check engine light which I found concerning. I reached out to Des Mechanic and had the pleasure of working with the owner over the weekend and let me tell you their honesty, integrity and quality of works speaks volumes!Moreover, the owner informed me that the my oil filter had not been change plus I had some cheap oil used from when my car was previously service this is what made my car misfire and not preform properly.In closing, I would not recommend West Allis Mercedes-Benz of Elmbrook 2230 E. Moreland Blvd. Because of their dishonesty and poor quality of work.Thank you, Gobber and the entire team at Das Mechanic LLC. European Car Repair. Gabor and his team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I took my recently acquired '97 Boxster to Das Mechanic and he was honest and fair with all of my inquiries. He also spent time with me going over my car, including options of what may need to be replaced soon. He was not pushy or trying to upsell me in anyway. Gabor's shop is clean and his team professional. He's gained a lifetime customer in me and I strongly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and respectful European automotive mechanic.Service: Oil change

Very down to earth and honest mechanic who's also very upfront and personable mechanic shop who works on high-end foreign vehicles someone that I would trust if I bought a foreign vehicle.Make sure you call to avoid any scheduling issues as they can be very busy.

Best mechanic ever! You know you have a good mechanic when you ask for a bunch of expensive preventative work and they talk you out of what they could easily have just done and billed for. I've had friends use this business and came here on their glowing recommendations. He's honest and fair, explains things, knows his stuff, and treats you right!I have always done my own repairs because of others' experiences with bad/dishonest mechanics, and because it's a hobby of mine. But for the first time ever, I've been working way too much, lost my garage, and needed some work done, took my car to a <shudder> mechanic. He insisted on doing diagnostic work instead of just my requests, he gave me a MORE than fair estimate (which I have NEVER seen from any other mechanic), drove me home and picked me up when needed, did the work in a timely manner while communicating at every step, worked with me on part/brand preference, etc etc, and now I love my beautiful car more than ever!Thank you so much Gabor! The Google reviews on Das Mechanic, Gabor, and his work, made me very comfortable looking to him for service on my new (new to me at least) BMW. I'm in the service industry, so relationships matter to me. To me there is comfort in knowing that the guy you hand your keys to is the guy who is going to work on your vehicle, and the guy who is going to hand you your keys back. Taking care of your vehicle is important to Gabor, because taking care of YOUR vehicle is HIS business. Couldn't have been happier with the service my vehicle received and the insight into my vehicle I received. Highly recommended.

Gabor is very flexible. He'll give you his honest opinion with proactive suggestions, and his pricing is very fair. For a new clutch kit, flywheel, and crankshaft seal, he charged $2,500 versus $8K to $9K a local dealership would've charged.

Heard this is the place to go. Wanted to establish here as I was new to the area, had been with my last mechanic 25 years and wanted someone similar. Kind of an odd encounter when I went in, wanted to get service set up, gave my name and number. Never called me back.

Gabor was a great guy to work with. He keeps you informed on everything that is going on. Sends pictures of work and also the failed parts and helps explain everything that s going on and why. Very good mechanic. Very good guy. My car was in the shop a little longer but he gave me a 500 discount to help with that. Nothing you can do with the parts on hold but he still helped me out wen it wasn t even his fault. Very respectful and I ll be going back for my oil changes and other work as well. I emailed Das Mechanic for their opinion on purchasing used BMWs and they sent me a very detailed message back! I m not even a paying customer and they still took time to answer me. I ll definitely go here if I get a BMW!

I brought my 2006 VW Jetta 2.0t with a suspected hydraulic leak in the slave cylinder. It was at another shop, and after $850 it had the same issue. Das Mechanic quickly diagnosed the car correctly and with an accurate and fair estimate. My car is slightly modified, and I was given the option to go with a heavier clutch and it's perfect. Also needed some other minor maintenance that was also easily handled and within the estimate amount. I was informed and updated with pictures and video of my car to help understand what was required. I highly recommend Das Mechanic, and will bring my cars here from now on. I have almost always driven German cars and it can be a challenge to find a shop that will work on them. I will happily continue to buy German cars knowing they are in good hands with Gabor. Thank you!

It is enough to say that I completely trust Gabor to service and repair my daughter's BMW X3 while she is away at school in Madison. He is honest, communicates well, has fair prices, and does not recommend repairs that are unnecessary. The first time he serviced her car, he also took the time to show my daughter what the warning lights on her dash meant and how to check the oil. Thanks, Gabor!

I had a issue with my BMW where a cylinder in the engine was misfiring which had been an unknown cause until Gabor had looked into it. The issue had been with the car for a long time as he had concluded that it had been worked on before that the previous owner had never found the problem. He had gave me a very fair price on the cost as the dealership would have charged me triple! One of the best mechanics i've met.

Exceptional service. I expected to leave the car all day. Gabor noticed that I live 30 minutes away and upon arrival offered to do the work while I waited to save a trip. My car started to leak coolant after adding coolant at BMW dealership. It was always overfilled whenever I visited there. I suspect they might tried damage my car.So, I looked for trustworthy mechanic around my area. And, I found this place by getting recommendation from Bimmerfest.Gabor looked at my car and he found my radiator was broken and show me how it was leaking. I could see which part was broken and which part he will fix.I was low in my budget, so I asked Gabor to let me bring my parts to lower the cost and he accepted it. So, I could fix my car with very economic price. Around $200 for Gabor and around $160 for parts.I would recommend this place to anybody who has european cars.Trustworthy!

Gabor is a wonderful mechanic. His expertise and his humor has kept my husband's car alive for over 330,000 miles, Mine is only 100,000 miles old. He is honest, willing to investigate and learn about unique problems and willing to pull the plug when the car has gone too long (he just did that with my husband's and is consulting on the purchase of a different one). I appreciate having this resource.

Seems too busy to take a phone call much less work on a car. I ve tried several times to reach out with work, but I get an answering machine with a kid on the other end. I guess Zimbrick is the answer here

I received very high quality work at fraction of the price that I would have paid at the dealership. Gabor loves what he does and he has a reputation to keep up. Don't expect a coffee lounge like the dealership, but rather expect to experience an expert mechanic in a no frills shop. My beemer runs better than ever!!!

I have used the services of Das Mechanic for several mechanical issues with my BMW. They were all resolved quickly to my complete satisfaction. Gabor is extremely knowledgeable on repairs with BMW as well as VW. I trust him 100%.

Gabor has provided great service on my 2002 VW Golf TDI. He has corrected problems that other mechanics have not. He is reliable, knowledgeable, and reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone who has a VW.

Gabor has been our VW mechanic for over 2 years and has taken care of everything quickly, honestly, and has been very informative of what has and what needs to be done on our car. If you have a European vehicle that is NOT being looked after by Das Mechanic, you are wasting money and likely do not have the best person possible working on your car. The only way I will continue to own European cars is by having them serviced at Das Mechanic, if and when they close shop I'm buying a Toyota.
