I recently rented a skid steer and mini excavator for a landscaping project. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful & the equipment was in good condition. The equipment delivery service was reasonably priced and timely. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Great service and parts staff. Have purchased chainsaws, lawn equipment and snowblower. Always friendly and knowledge sales staff. You can find lots more there too!

Rented the brush cutter. OMG, what a beast. It did what it was supposed to, just wished the speed was a little slower in first gear. I'll be renting that again.

I brought my Husqvarna 575xp chainsaw in because it wouldn't start. Was told it needed to be rebilt and new carb and that they wen't made any more. It looked like the cove hadn't even been looked at. I found the parts if they were even needed easily on line. Was also told that they would get rid of my chainsaw if I wanted. Was the repair person just wanting to rebuild and sell an $900 chainsaw when new and pocket the money?? I will never deal with McFarlands in any way ever again. EVER

An excellent, locally owned, hardware and farm supply store. Employees are very helpful and each department is typically well trained and equipped to answer questions. I really appreciate the new option to text their main number with questions and even photos of parts or equipment to aid the troubleshooting, purchasing, and ordering processes.

The shopping experience here is relaxing and I like shopping with a local family and employees who support other local businesses. No obnoxious ads playing over the intercom. They usually always have what you need. With gas prices the way they are, it is a blessing to have a good hardware store close to home. A lot of good kids in Sauk Prairie have gotten their start working here, too.

2nd Kubota bought there. Told them we wanted black rims. We were told "no problem". It showed up with grey rims. Nothing else on the machine is grey...looks stupid. Guess next time we'll have to go to Janesville....3 weeks later & no follow up, but I have interacted with other staff (not our sales person) with GREAT results. Appears our sales person was "the weakest link"!

This is a wonderful family owned and run hardware and implement store. It s great! They have all the strange little parts that I need for projects that I would normally have to travel all the way to a big box store in order to get the part, they have them all. And they re wonderful people.

I went in to McFarlanes on a Saturday too look at and possibly buy a kubota lx2610 tractor. I was previously at another dealer the day before and had things ready and set up to get a tractor. But i just wasn't sure about it. Dan Ederer helped me out and went above and beyond. I didn't have a trailer to get it home and he took care of that for me as well. When i got home i noticed a small dent in the hood and called Dan and left a message, We missed it that day it was very busy day there. Right away monday morning he called me and said we will take care of it right away. After that i knew i made the right decision that i bought from McFarlanes. This week my hood came in and Dan sent Jeremy Landes to pick it up from my house to take it in and put new hood on. I also bought lights to add it to my tractor. But i didn't install them do to getting a injury. I sent lights with Jeremy and called dan if he can do these for me. He said no problem at all. I want to thank you Dan and Jeremy for going out of your way on making my first tractor buy the best. I will never go anywhere else with my purchases. Thank you again Ray Nelson.

I bought a bag of feed that ended up having many bugs in it. This happens, and is not usually fault of the store. It is a manufacturing or shipping issue. I noticed this right after I got home. I called and they had be bringing the bags back with a no hassle return. I couldn t put all the feed back in the bag as it needed to be tossed to not contaminate my vehicle or my other feed. Don was pleasant to work with and didn t question my honesty in the situation. I will definitely return

Had amazing service working with The sales rep (Dan) on Kabotas. Helpful and was able to answer all of our questions. All the mechanics were so great with getting things done quick and efficient while cashiers were supper patient and kind. Huge thank you to them dropping off our equipment as well in a timely matter.

Bought a john deere x485 from these people and when I got it home it wouldn't start. Was told they had books on it before I bought it and now no books, Troy said I guess it had issues we weren't aware of. Was told one of their mechanics had traded it in and it was in good shape, we traveled 300 miles to get this thing and now have a paperweight. The local John Deere dealer says they can't even look at it for about two weeks. Be aware if you buy used from them as they don't care about the customer.

This is the place to get the good stuff that city stores haven't even heard of.Their farm implement sales and service is worth the trip no matter how far. They went to bat for me on a warranty goodwill claim that saved me several hundred dollars. This place is A++

I had my tires done here and was harassed by employees . They followed me around the store while I was waiting for my car and called the police on me for driving around to where they told me to park my car and said it was suspicious activity? Would not recommend for any person who is not white . Also a lot of the employees just stand around doing nothing or gossip . I also purchased some tools and the woman who checked me out gave me dirty looks and was extremely rude .

Recently bought a used Massey Ferguson tractor here. Had a minor issue with temperature gauge after receiving. Bill in sales arranged for issue to be taken care of with no hesitation. Happy to see exceptional customer service still exists in some places.

Great Service! I just bought my first tractor, a Kubota L3901, from McFarlanes. I had gone to two other Kubota dealers and neither one offered the type of service I received here. Dan sat down and really wanted to understand what I would be using the tractor for, to put me in one that best suited my needs. He was very upfront and gave great examples when answering my questions. I went home that day to think it over and we traded emails and a couple phone calls as I asked more questions. He then put me in touch with Kim who went through all the finances and was again great to work with through the process. Dave delivered my tractor and he went through everything! All of the controls, maintenance, where grease points were and really made me feel comfortable using it for the first time. Thank you very much for everyone s help and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

I love shopping at McFarlanes! The folks that work there are knowledgeable and super helpful. I've also called them on the phone to check on the stock of a few items, and they have picked up quickly, and have a good handle of their inventory. I rented a car dolly, and that was seamless, and way easier than Uhaul. I bought a grill and was able to work out assembly and delivery with them. The grill was also priced competitively. This was much better service that I could have gotten on line or from a larger store in Madison. They love their local customers, and work hard to exceed expectations.

Usually have a good experience there. Confusing at times with various sales (bucket sales when no buckets & then you don't get the discount, or one clerk says yes & another says no.)2022 This year much better. Had enough buckets. Luncheon was great!

Went to get my alignment done. After them not starting my car until almost 20 mins after my appointment, I got my keys back and a charge slip for more than the agreed upon amount. I paid and drove a mile down the road to realize the alignment is now worse than when I brought it in. When I bring it immediately backin and tell them it's now worse and verring to the right, I didn't receive an apology just rude additude from a Hispanic male. Awful customer service, and doesn't even check there work.Edit: after coming back in for the re alignment. They apologized said they have fixed it and gave me a refund. I am leaving my previous statement as a testament to what I dealt with and what they did to fix it.

Definitely a great store that covers a wide variety of stuff. There prices are great and the service I ve experienced so far has been perfect. The guys in the back are very knowledgeable about what they sell
