Get rid of the bartender with the attitude problem! We came for the Friday night fish fry on 3/29/24. Disappointment in just about everything except for our server Lily. Bartender was acting as if he was holier than thou type attitude. My husband wanted another refill of soda. Mind you soda is being served in disposable cups. Because my husband hadn't "emptied" his cup he couldn't get a refill. UNBELIEVABLE!He brought a refill to our table and set it where NONE of us could reach it. He didn't even have the manners to see who it was for. Had he done that, perhaps I might have tipped him.Food was so so. We had our wedding reception here 6 years ago and the food was wonderful. Our server Lily was checking in on our table and the other 8 or so tables that she was covering by herself. I think she was doing a great job.

Even one star feels a bit much. I m not sure if it was a lack of staff or because we re not local yocals, but we tried to give them our business tonight. Watched multiple sets of people come in after us and get served.A simple, sorry I m short staffed. Do you mind sitting at the bar for quickest service or something would have been great. But tables got food. People got drinks. Tables got checked on and we hadn t even been offered a beer yet. Decided it was time to take our business elsewhere.Good luck to the new owners-this wasn t the kind of experience I d write home about tho.

First time coming here since new ownership, service was great. What I really appreciated was, we came at about 2:30 asked if they had a fish fry. It didn't start until 4. Without us even asking the server went back and asked for yes. We both got the fish fry the fish was great! The homemade chips could use a tad more seasoning.Overall a great experience. Who I could assume was the owner came out and greeted us, asked how everything was. I would recommend. I do want to go back and try their burgers at some point.

I want to share how the new mamagement is handeling their responsibility. My group has had a standing reservation for a cabin for the Gun Deer season since 2004 (19 years), the year the cabins opened. We have renewed it each year befoe leaving. When contacting the Riverias new management they informed us there was no such reservation and the cabin was already taken. We sent proof of payment for the last several years but that made no difference. Instead of doing the right thing and informing whoever rented our cabin that it was mistakenly overboked they ignored us. After 19 years and all the money we spent renting and on food an drink this how we were treated. Whomever texted did not have the courtesy to identify who they were. If this is the kind of people you want to do business with, good luck.Management responded to the post above proving my points. We had provided proof of rental through credit card receipts for the last 3 years. We renewed the reservation at the end of our stay as we did each year. The prior owner was actually the third owner since we started renting and our reservations were always honored. Seems some underhanded booking may have taken place. Their response essentially called us liars questioning if we even had a reservation for this year or in the past. Even though proof was provided to them showing credit card receipts for the last several years which was totally ignored. 19 years of loyalty on our part and this is how we get treated. We checked on our reservation 5 weeks before the reservation dates as a courtesy, something we did each year, not one week as they stated. Not very sharp since the Wi Gun Deer Season is still a month away. I resent being called a liar and that their response misrepresented the facts. As anyone who knows me, my word is my bond.

This is my first time staying at this campground and my first impressions aren t great. The campsite website was easy to use but that s the only good thing I can say about the rental process. Checking into the campsite was very frustrating to figure out. Some nice bartenders helped me the best they could. Though, they informed me that they really don t know much about the campsite or cabin rental process. When I finally got ahold of someone, I asked for a map and they could not provide one. They told me the campsites are numbered, that was it. I didn t know it at the time, but the campsites are a little ways up the road from the bar and thankfully I found the maintenance man and he was very nice and let me follow him to the campsite area. There are no public shower facilities in the campsite area or around the bar area. This was the biggest letdown. If you were planning on staying for an extended period of time you d have to drive 5 or so miles to the county park to shower or to Kwik Trip in Black River Falls. If you are planning on tent camping make sure to bring extra tent steaks. The campsite ground is covered in a grassy gravel and it is very easy to bend tent stakes. If there is anything I d recommend it d be the following. Some kind of map of the campground area in the bar for reference would be great. Even if it s a crude topographic image taken off of google maps with some red lines guiding you from the bar to the campsites. A campground shower would be a great addition in the future. In the email it d be nice to get a bit of info on checking in as well. There is a chance I missed something in the email about the check in process so it could be my fault for my frustration, but I digress. An update after staying for two nightsWe ate at the Riviera on Saturday night and they had extremely good wings and fries. The menu isn t the biggest in the world, which some people might not like. There was a moderately long wait for the food despite there only being a handful of people in the restaurant. But it was worth the wait.We ran into issues using the private boat launch. When we went to launch our boat we were berated by a plethora of rude campers. They kept saying we were not allowed to use the launch and we re very aggressive towards us. I got ahold of the rental agency and was informed that the owners have an open easement for the launch. The agency took quite awhile to respond. We had to move 4 miles to Russel Memorial Campground for a different boat launch which we had to pay for during this time. This was a very aggravating and inconvenient experience. The campsite was decent but the size was exaggerated in the listing. The listing claimed the dimensions of our site would be 60 deep and 40 wide. It was closer to 24 deep and 14 wide. There wasn t much room to park vehicles. For our party of 4 adults with 3 vehicles we had to use the vacant campsite next to us for parking. There wasn t any kind of picnic table to use in any of the campsites, so you better bring some kind of table and chairs to eat at.In summary, after my experience, I wound not stay at this campground again. I would revisit the restaurant though. I would also like to say that the maintenance man was extremely nice and helpful during our stay.Nearby activities: There is Lake Arbutus which offers boating activities, swimming, and fishing. There is also a plethora of ATV trails in the area. During holiday weekends there is a flee market that is usually held in Hatfield.Food & drinks: Excellent food and fantastic bartenders.

We LOVED the prime rib sandwich! My husband could have eaten two! I found the portion perfect with a huge plate of equally delicious French fries.

One of the best fish fries I've had in a long time. Had a broiled lemon pepper cod. With butter and lemon on the side, and the deep fried cod had an excellent batter . Light and flaky.the fries were phenomenal !! Totally homemade.. had a salad bar and homemade bread, a couple of old fashions that made my night complete. I would definitely suggest this place to my friends and family..

Service was bad. Food was delicious. Server could barely carry the beers from the bar to the table. She had to walk slow and concentrate. She nearly dumped the tray of food and couldn't remember who ordered what. The food was great. Highly recommend the bourbon burger. The 'secret sauce' is so good.

Cabins are nice. Bar and grill was horrible service. The bartender lady was rude and acted like she was over worked. Don't waste your time. Cleaning crew was awesome and helpful. Tiki bar was closed entire time. Went to The Mug for dinner and drinks.

UPDATE - Food and service has improved greatly and the food has been consistently good. The broiled fish on Fridaynights is scrumptious. Just like most businesses, I understand it can be hard to find enough good help but for the most part service is timely. We now visit regularly.

All you can eat fish and salad on Friday was absolutely delish! It's too bad the bar staff are too involved in leaning over the bar chatting with locals rather than serving a drink! This goes for one of the owners as well. While one bartender was smoking outside the FRONT entrance where diners walk in. It was gross.Need to step it up to being classy Riviera!!

Nice place. Stayed in the eagle cabin. Simple accommodations that with minimal effort could be much better. Ample closet space but there are no hangers to hang any clothes. No hooks to hang any clothes . In the bathroom, no hooks or racks to hang your clothes or towels. The TV is 20 years out of date projection TV that only picked up one station clearly, the other stations were very static and fuzzy. There is a bar/restaurant here that serves good burgers, fish fry, pizza and more. Our bartender/server Tina was spot on and friendly.

We have stayed here for many years and have loved it. However this year was awful. Service at restaurant was slow, orders were wrong, and getting drinks at the bar took forever. The cabin we stayed in air was out when we arrived on Sunday and when we told maintenance guy (Jay) he came over with a beer in hand kicked it and said it was working. It was not. On a 94 day the cabin reached 80 inside and with a 2 month old it was HORRIBLE. The issue was brought to owner Rob and Maintenance worker attention several more times until Thursday a heating and cooling company came to work on it. Meanwhile we had 90+ days everyday. We were moved to a different cabin Wednesday night but were told had to be out the next morning early. Soo easy to do with baby...NOT. sad to say but we will not be going back for anything with our 30+ group. The owner was very arrogant when talking about everything in person. Very disappointed in how this was l handled.

I wouldn t recommend buying pull tabs in the pub. We had to wait a day to be paid. The owner and bartender acted very rudely to us when we came back to get our money.
