First time coming here. They have a huge selection and had a lot of Saabs. Definitely worth the drive to get here.

I picked out a Duralast Platinum 24F battery today. It checked out good but was not fully charged. They said come back in an hour and it will be ready to go. I came back to find out they had sold it to someone else. Seems pretty lousy. I didn't realize i had to stand guard over the battery in order to take possession of it...

Love this place, been a while since I been here. Perhaps state on your website what time you stop letting people out in the yard. Came for a quick part, but apparently 3:40 was too late, and was a wated trip

Loaded up 1640lbs of aluminum that myself and a buddy spent 12 hours cleaning up and got 80$ because of a couple self tapper screws

I love the junkyard! Its a place where dead cars go so people can go yank parts that DO work out of them. Its alot of fun. The staff could be a little more friendly but what do you expect?..

These individuals who work here go above and beyond to make sure you get what you need at the same time you get the best price on parts..

Went to buy a visor for my car. I was treated as if I didn't have a clue what I was doing. The man at the desk was less than helpful and said, "Well, I don't know what you need." Customer service in the parts area is poor. The man at the desk needs some training in how to be helpful. You lost a customer because of his lack of service.

Easy process, pull the part yourself or have them pull it for you at an extra charge. Depending on the part, expect to pay between ~1/2 of retail to full retail. Cash. They don't haggle anymore, so be sure to look up the cost of the part online before you buy it. Bottom line: Occasionally expensive items mixed with tight hours make it hard to go, but it's still where I go for used car parts if I'm not buying online.

Always had good luck there until the last few years. Overpriced parts, no haggle, literally dude tried to charge me the same as Auto Zone for a junk yard part. Oh and no card, get cash from the ATM for an extra $3 charge. Never Again.

I needed this part for my Lincoln limousine.its a Ford/Lincoln part only. Nobody reproduces it. Local Ford dealership sez $300 for a new one. Got two of them at Gibson's for $10.00 each. Took me 35 minutes to remove them. Guy in the huge fork lift picked up the car so I could get them both off. Quick. Thanks Gibson's. Captain's

I'm giving you 2 stars soley. Because the service was good. Guy outside was very helpful.. your prices are extremely low in comparison to everyone else in the area. Like unfairly low , literally half of what everyone else is paying for copper, aluminum and all other metals other than sheet iron. I'm done running my materials there and will pass on this information.

Very prompt & polite communication. Their offer for junking our old minivan was much higher compared to a few other places I contacted. The driver called in advance and arrived on time and hauled away our minivan w/o any issues. I highly recommend Gibson Iron & Metal Inc and will contact them again in the future if we ever have to junk another vehicle.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. Rude and disrespectful staff. They sold Me the wrong size tires wouldn't refund My money not even considering the fact that it was their mistake. Customer service is horrible.... I wouldn't recommend going here don't waste your money or your time. I'd give them a negative number if I could I'm so serious.

I've been coming here since high school. The pick n pull yard is second to none, huge selection of vehicles to pick from. Probably only once or twice I wasn't able to find what I needed. Usually have the best prices around for iron, about $200 a ton right now. Only complaint is they pay pretty low for non ferrous metals, copper, aluminum, etc

Went there yesterday after not been in awhile. But this time I was a bit upset. I've gotten many parts in the past. But yesterday I bought a bumper, whole fender ($25) really good price. But got charged extra this time for the plastic inside of the fender. The bumper had mounted factory fog lights and each were extra cost. I was always told before if it's mounted is a flat rate. Not very happy about that. But was happy to find the parts I needed.

Bob at the counter was very helpful in helping me obtain the Toyota Rav4 tailgate I needed and the price was very reasonable, one of the guys helped me remove it and load it on my truck. I will definitely be doing business with them again. I highly recommend this auto parts salvage yard to any and all fellow mechanic's, Sorry didn't have time for pictures guys, it was almost closing time and I drove 90 miles to get there. It's a very big place and you can pull your own parts.

They are a little rough around the edges but they have a good selection of new and old vehicles. Word of advice.. If it's wet out make sure you wear boots it can be very muddy. Bring tools and ask where the make of car is when you get there to save you walking all over the place.

Used to love going here for many years , BUT now prices are too high , they look up prices on the internet from carpart.com and quote what I can by from all the big yards for , or less. For Example A $500 engine I used to buy here now want 2000 !!!Then why should I spend my time finding the part here ,bringing my own tools and taking the part off myself ,and gas money to get here ,when I can make one call and have it delivered to my door .Don`t see this new way of running this place going to stay in business long, parking lot used to be packed full of customer cars going there, now place looks deserted .

I emailed these people a couple times trying to help an employee out and also them and got no response. They should also know when firing an employee, last I checked the law says they should be given their last check the same day, not make them come back then tell them it's in the mail. Sounds like a run around. The employee was fired last week. Still no check. They didn't even pay last week yet when payroll was due.I got no return call from them either.

A price of $170/ton was quoted for a travel bus brought in to salvage. The bus weighed over 30,000 pounds. Once the bus was in their possession, the price was dropped to $100/ton. Gibson then deducted alleged additional costs. Gibsons said they would pay $600 to me. This money was to be paid in cash. At this point Gibsons can then say he accepted payment rather than having to leave the bus in their care and not being paid anything. Therefore, the owner isaccepting the $600 as partial payment towards the $2550 that is owed to him by Gibsons. The Field Investigator of Winnebago County and the BBB are definitely being notified of this incident.

They must strive to get the lowest rankings on the web. I bought the EXACT same part for my car a week apart and they charged 10 bucks more the next week. When I asked why the price difference the guy said, "Do you still want it or not?" This isn't the only bad experience....just the last one.

I've been here a few times, Mostly because it's convenient. One time I had them pull a strut/spring for my car. They charged me $60 and ended up cutting the bracket that held it in place. They then tried to tell me that it would be fine. Umm, no. I have kids. I had to make a big scene to get my money back, and I never even left the property! Just recently I went in for a window motor for a different car. I wad told it would be $10 plus whatever it would be for them to pull it. I went to pick it up, and they charged me a total of $40 because they claimed the motor didn't come off the resistor. Fine. I went to replace the resistor too, and they gave me the wrong one (I wanted parts for passenger side, got drivers side). 30 seconds and 3 screws later, the window motor is off and on the original resistor. They gave me a $10 credit, that's all. Bottom line, terrible customer service, they don't listen, and they try to rip you off.
