Riverside Automotive is a an excellent auto repair shop! The mechanics there do very high-quality work for a reasonable price and get it done efficiently. It s great to be able to take my car somewhere on the east side, and know that any problem will be diagnosed and repaired. I much prefer to sit in Riverside s waiting room on Oakland Avenue, or to take a walk around the neighborhood, then to be way out on some large highway in the suburbs, waiting hours for the dealer s mechanics to finish a costly repair job.

My daughter s car recently broke down. I called Riverside Auto and Peter couldn t have been nicer! Fast turn around and a fair price! I am happy to say that I will definitely send her there again.

Our car unexpectedly broke down and this was the closest auto shop. The mechanics were super nice, polite, and started calling us with updates when it took longer than they initially expected. They really went above and beyond in customer service.

I want to give a huge shout out to riverside automotive for helping my daughter out yesterday. I live in South Carolina and called saying her car would not start and we had just had riverside replace the battery a few months ago. She got it started and took it to riverside auto to have it checked before her big trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Riverside diagnosed it as a bad starter. Before we could even get an estimate they had replaced the starter and came back to her saying that they had replaced it and merry Christmas. No charge at all. Those guys are true Americans in my eyes and my daughter will be forever grateful and will continue to bring her Kia soul to them. Words cannot express how grateful we are for them at riverside automotive!

I took my car here for brake repairs. The cost was a bit on the high side, but wasn't a big problem. They called and told me I also had a leaking water pump that needed to be fixed immediately for about $900. I told them that I would need to look into it, and when I picked up the car they handed me a quote for the water pump as an urgent repair that should be taken care of asap. I took it to another shop to check the water pump and it turns out its working perfectly with no signs of a leak.I took it back to Riverside and asked them to show me any evidence of a leak. They could not, and when I asked them why they were trying to overcharge me by $900 they got very rude and told me the car will stop running without their repairs.This was about 2 years ago. The water pump is still running fine.Beware of shady mechanics.Update: 4 years later and that water pump still isn't leaking at all. Always get a second opinion when your mechanic finds something wrong that you didn't bring it in for. Winning runner-up in some local award doesn't mean much to me.

Outta towner here. My tire and some potholes went a couple rounds and you guessed it. My tire lost spectacularly. Riverside Auto and the pit stop quartet fixed my tire faster than I can say, 'Chicago deep-dish beats Wisconsin bratwurst any day'. Soooo, I mumbled it under my breath (like any god fearing Chicagoan would!) while paying the more than reasonable invoice and went on my way. Thanks PB. I owe ya one, slice of Chicago deep-dish.

This is my go-to mechanic shop. I am so glad I found them and will continue to go to them as long as I have a car! From oil changes to more advanced work, you can count on them.

Take your car here.I had previously taken my car somewhere else to get looked at for a noise and they said they fixed it they did not.While there was a wait I m glad I brought my car here.Joe and his team looked at it, told me what was wrong and what needed to be done and was all around helpful and very friendly.I will be coming back for all things car related in the future.

The only auto shop we'll visit. Absolutely trustworthy and highly ethical, they will treat you with the greatest respect, and your vehicle with professional care. Highly recommend the pros at Riverside.UPDATE 11/23: Once again, the pros @ Riverside prove their worth and expertise. "Only ' an oil change this time, but took a few minutes to explain a issue that's going to need attention in the future. Wasn't even on my radar, but having been shown, it obviously needs to be addressed. Naturally, the needed part has been discontinued, so "a-hunting we will go" and Riverside will take care of the installSeriously, trust these guys. They won't ever mislead or dismiss you. Thanks again to everyone at Riverside Automotive!

I highly recommend Riverside Automotive! Joe (the owner) was very professional and the shop is well-kept. One of my battery cords needed to be replaced and the job was done within 24 hours. Overpriced. They sell you things you dont need they say are broken that arent. Dont have to ask far to hear this from others in the neighborhood as well.

I live out of state and chose to call this place based on their reviews for a brake repair on my college kid's car. Being so far away, I couldn't check out the brakes myself but after talking to them on the phone I felt confident that they were honest and trustworthy. The repair was done same day as appointment, payment accepted over the phone, and they put up with my "mom" questions - it was all a smooth process. It's nice to know I have somewhere to call if we need more work done while my kid is away at school.Service: Brakes

Friend came in for the replacement of brake pads and possibly rotors. The quote they gave was objectively astronomical and included rotors even though they weren't needed. The friend ended up taking it to the shop I initially recommended which confirmed rotors were not needed and gave a quote 1/4 of what these guys gave. I asked what it would be with rotors included because I was curious and it was still 1/2 of what Riverside quoted. If you want overpriced and unethical these are your guys. There's no justification for that gouging.

Look no further for an automotive service business; this operation is top notch. The staff is absolutely awesome - extremely professional, above and beyond helpful and incredibly kind and friendly. My dog was welcomed with treats and affection and they put in a new battery quickly and efficiently. Truly, the best experience I ve had with my car. I won t be going anywhere else. As a woman, a lot of times I find a lot of anxiety when I bring my car into shops because my past experience have been with men that belittle me or talk to me like a child, when on the other hand they treat the men with respect. This experience was the complete opposite! Everyone in Riverside Auto of Milwaukee, WI was incredibly helpful and made me feel comfortable and safe. I was talked to like a normal human and they were fast and had great communication. I already recommended this place to multiple people. Peter and Todd were so sweet and trustworthy and I felt they word hard and got the job done faster than I expected (especially for not having an appointment!) I will most definitely be bringing my car in to Riverside Auto whenever I need help. Best auto care experience I've ever had!!!Service: Auto maintenance

We had car trouble on our way through town. Peter and his crew turned around our car super fast. Peter was professional, respectful, and communicated super well. Definitely felt respected as a female, too. Would 100% suggest this shop.

A repair shop you can trust, and that's priceless! I've been going here over 25 years. Early on, I went to another shop for a second opinion on an expensive repair, and very much wished I'd stuck with Riverside. The other shop (now long gone) got me in with a lower quote, but I ended up spending more. The only downside is that Riverside is so busy that planned maintenance needs to be scheduled up to two weeks in advance. But it just goes to show that they only fix what really needs fixing, they're too busy to do work that doesn't need to be done. And while I buy tires where I work, they're happy to schedule the necessary alignment; no pressure to buy through them.You can get a cheaper oil change elsewhere, but to me it's worth literally just a few dollars more to go to a full-service and trustworthy shop where they know me and my car's full history. I won't go anywhere else.

I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Riverside Auto! My car was taken in twice to Riverside by a tow truck with AAA, and both times we had exceptional service. The staff was responsive, quick, fair and honest. They won t recommend things that don t need to be done. I needed a new alternator, and they helped me to figure out the warranty with my old one which saved me a lot of money. If I have car issues again, I will definitely send my car to Riverside Auto.

Riverside Auto is a true gem on the Eastside for any of your service work needs. I cannot recommend a shop more after twenty years involved in this industry. The owner is not only incredibly honest but also insightful and helpful. Thank you Peter and team for your hard work and for going above and beyond in a pinch for me. Last month I brought in my 2013 Honda Fit to have the front brakes replace since they were grinding. They assured me that my brake pads do not need replacing, they had half life on them and they were "actually just dirty" so they charged me $80 to clean them. A month later, I'm at a different mechanic getting my brake pads, rotors, and calipers replaced because my brake pads were so worn down that they were grinding on the sensor, making a horrific grinding noise.I've had many mechanics try to pull the wool over my eyes and clearly this is another one of those places. Also, their prices are too expensive. $80 just to clean my brake pads? Ridiculous, seeing as there weren't even any brake pads left to clean. Also, my husband was quoted $1,900 for an air conditioning job where our second opinion mechanic can do it for less than a grand (and that's still the "expensive" quote.) Good thing the simple brake pad job got screwed up or Lord knows what would have happened to my husband's car had we gone through with his repairs.My biggest regret is not calling out Riverside's quality of work the day after it happened. I won't be making that mistake again.Service: Brakes
