Clean shop. Clear speaking customer service agent. Denny was available every single time I called to inquire about the progress. The repaired clutch is so good driving it home was like driving a stick for the first time. Furthermore they found the alignment out of whack and even fixed that. I cannot find anymore words to express my gratitude for this fix. I love my car and this place seems to understand this core value. I m very humbled by this experience.

Beyond amazing customer service from Denny&Paul and amazing service in general!! My car needed a new engine along with a few other issues and they fixed it in less than a month! Now my car runs better than when I first bought it, it's very nice and comforting to take my car somewhere where they didn't overcharge and still give back a reliable vehicle. They kept me updated during the whole process and I never once had to worry about being scammed or if my car is actually fixed. I also loved how they explained the issues to me in a way I could understand without patronizing me. Overall it was an amazing experience for me and my vehicle. I cannot recommend them enough !!! They are fast, affordable, and beyond friendly/welcoming. 100/10 would definitely recommend to any and everyone!

My serpentine belt snapped at 5:30pm on a Friday evening in downtown Milwaukee. We called and spoke to Denny who told us they could get it in the next day. Not only did they get my car in Saturday morning but it was fixed and ready to go by 10am and cost me significantly less than I had anticipated. They pointed out a couple issues to look out for that weren't emergent (things I was already aware of) but didn't try to upscale me or anything, just very up front and honest. The staff we talked to were so incredibly kind, they were absolute life savers and I couldn't recommend this business highly enough!

I was helping a friend of mine move from Milwaukee up to northern Wisconsin this weekend when the truck died. Not only did this shop accept the truck after hours on Friday, they got the work done so quickly on Saturday that we were able to resume packing and moving without much delay. I could tell they were trying to help us out and get the work finished since we had such a long drive ahead of us. Thank you to the owner and scheduler for their kindness and understanding in a very stressful situation!

I noticed I had a flat tire while in the neighborhood. I drove over to their shop just to have them help put my spare tire on. Instead, they were able to patch the nail hole that cause the flat and get me back on the road. Huge life saver and at a fair price - much less than a brand new tire I thought that I would need.

Denny was great to work with! I had been postponing repairs due to financial stress and it was getting worse over two years. I finally was able to find a window to take care of it and they set up a time, fixed the car and I was back in the drivers seat the same day. Highly recommend and car sounds like new!

I have been taking my car to North Avenue automotive for a couple of years now. I take it in for an appointment for major things and even small things like an oil change. Paul and Garrett and Denny Have very welcoming personalities as well as automotive skills. They charge a fair price for their work And they know what they are doing. Give them a try for your vehicle and you will be very happy.

Excellent customer service! I came in with worries about my car making weird clunking noise but Paul was able to help me figure out what it was and give me reassurance. I truly appreciate their kindness and would not hesitate to come back here again to service my car!

Honest, fair, and high quality. 10/10 would recommend! I blew a trans cooler line while on a cross country roadtrip. Denny worked me in on a Saturday and had me back on the road on Tuesday. They returned the aftermarket parts that didn't fit quite right and installed OEM parts, test drove it, and even put a sticker under the hood with the work done and type of fluid used. All for a fair price even though they knew I was in a pinch. Truck continues to run great with no issues.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

I been customer for 20 years And have always been treated with 100% respect and honesty. I am honored to have him repair my Family's vehicles. My truck has 452 .000 miles on it.Yes it is true. I believe Paul is the sole reason this truck is still running today. I have never needed to question any repairs done on my Family's vehicles. I am honored to say thank you so much for the highest level and quality of work you all do at the shop.Thanks for your honest expertise Service. The Biksackys are Thankful for North Avenue Automotive. yes it s amazing. My truck is still going strong almost 600,000 miles almost 4 years later I ve known Paul all my life. We ve been friends since we were very young. He s very gifted at what he does. He has trained his son and someday he will be at the level of his dad, he worked on my transmission yesterday Garrett what a nice young man just as picky as his dad. Go figure the apple doesn t fall far from the tree. It s amazing what he s accomplished as a business owner but still but still the same old friend Amazing. I m just grateful for the quality service always 100% done. And of course Denny doing the scheduling he s another asset to the company. What a team Paul has. I want to honestly say this is the place you want to go to if you live in the area or even if you live far away like I do. I don t think you can meet or have such quality honest work done. That s such a level of being picky and expertise level. Old red 2011 Ford F150 she wants to go for 1,000,000 miles I think. And I think she will. With the help of expertise shop North Avenue automotive thank you much you all have a merry Christmas. I took my car in because it was shaking and veering to the left. I thought I had just hit too many curbs but when I brought it in I found out the struts were shot and I needed some other work on the front end. The team at North Avenue Automotive got it fixed faster and cheaper than they estimated and now my car drives like a dream. They were upfront with the costs and the issues, which I really appreciated. Called for a quote on transmission repair or installation of a reman and was told that they don't work on these. I don't know about other services they provide but call ahead.

I have been getting my car serviced here for over 20 years. Paul the owner and head mechanic has never let me down. He is very honest, very knowledgeable and timely. The fact that this is a family owned business for over 30 years speaks volumes. His son Garrett is an excellent right hand man who knows his (stuff). His wife is awesome. And Denny at the front desk is always pleasant and helpful. Thumbs up all around!! Had a great experience with North Avenue Auto. I just moved into the area and got a flashing engine light. Denny helped me out with complete transparency and professionalism. They use OE parts so your car won't break down again shortly after the repair. Glad I found them.

I was so surprised to see the number of negative reviews for this place. I've taken my cars here twice and so has my brother and we both have had great experiences every single time! Incredibly fast, honest, and very fairly priced. Denny is the man!! He's so patient, kind, and clearly very hardworking. 10/10 I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is having ANY issues with their car.

Denny was very patient and highly communicative with me as he and the shop worked through establishing the scope of my transmission repair needs, as we tried to establish whether the repair costs would be more expensive than the car was worth. He called me frequently to keep me informed of what was developing, and what the costs might be. I appreciated it so very much. He was patient and understanding that the decisions were not easy to make at the spur of the moment, and had a very easy-going, low-pressure attitude that was most appreciated.My only disappointment was that some peripheral repairs were made by the time that the true scope of the transmission repair needs were discovered, so at the point that we determined that the entire transmission needed repair (which I opted to not have done), the brakes had already been repaired. I felt I had explained the situation and my goal (to assess the repair needs, and only repair if a new transmission was not needed), it was a bit of a break-down in the complete understanding of my goal, but I still was left with an overall great experience and wouldn't hesitate to come back.Services: Transmission, Brakes

Radiator leak & they diagnose someone installed stop leak. Not true am the only one with keys to access car. Estimate cost to fix was over $1800 & plus. Charged $156 for finding

I have a somewhat rare and quirky car, and it was having issues with air suspension. My main mechanic said they couldn't fix the issue and it had to be dealer serviced, but the dealer said they didn't want to work on it either. I called around many shops who said that they either wouldn't be able to fix my issue or flat out wanted nothing to do with my car. Enter these guys, they were willing to work on my car despite never hearing of it and they pretty much solved my issue the same day. They're quite far from me, but I highly recommend these guys if you're having trouble finding knowledgeable mechanics willing to take on new issues.

When I walked into this place I was worried that the issue my car had was something that would cost me an arm and a leg. Denny, who helped me at the front desk, talked me through what he thought could be going on just by what I was saying. These guys are very knowledgeable and are not there to waste your time. They took my car back into their garage and ran their tests. They figured out the problem, explained it to me in detail, ordered the part that was malfunctioning, replaced the part, retested the car, gave me the keys and I got home within 2 hours. The issue was resolved with ease and with much care. I was incredibly impressed by their professionalism and their friendliness to someone who knows very little about cars that could easily be scammed. The price was well below and the overall experience was well above my expectations. Thank you Denny for the great customer service and thank you Paul for getting my car fixed so quickly. I recommend this place to anyone who wants mechanics that they can trust.

We came in for a tune-up earlier this Summer. The mechanics charged us quite a bit to patch one tire and assured us that the car was fine and the brakes didn't need to be looked at for 8,000 miles. After going to a different mechanic, we've been informed that the brakes are fully shot and rusted, and the car has several other serious issues as well that they don't seem to have checked at all. For $280 to patch one tire and a claim to have checked the vehicle, they missed a lot. Save your money and go somewhere else! It's not worth the stress!

My husband and I have taken our car here twice in a pinch. The first time we needed to pay because we needed the car operational, but the second time we were able to walk away. We were over charged both times compared to local competitors. I would encourage you to do your research and get a few quotes from other local companies to avoid being price gouged by this place. They tried to charge my husband $170 for a diagnostic today after it was completed. When my husband argued Denny adjusted the price to $100. Looking at other reviews everyone wrote diagnostic cost $100 so it appears he was just trying to take more money. If you do choose to work with this company I would confirm diagnostic price prior to starting with them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Fantastic customer service and very reasonable prices. I felt listened to, respected, and that my car was well taken care of and fixed. I dropped in this morning, was seen right away, and Denny even brought me out to show me fluid levels and what needed to be fixed. There are a bunch of thank you cards along the walls from happy customers AND local non-profits that they've supported, which speak volumes about their business ethic.

Stopped in on 10.14.19 because I needed to go somewhere close to where I was to get my car checked after 3 lights came on telling me that something was wrong. This place was just down the road from where I was staying in town so I chose them. And I am so happy that I did!I'm from Chicago so I didn't want to risk driving too far and cause further damage to my vehicle. Denny did me a solid and checked it out for me by running the diagnostics and printing out the list of codes for me. He then advised me to take it to the dealer since I was still under 36,000 miles and should have been covered by my warranty.Unfortunately my warranty had just expired as I bought the car back in September 2016, just my luck, per the usual. But the way Denny told me to phrase everything actually helped me save on getting my car fixed as Subaru said they'd partially honor the warranty since it had barely been a month past expiration and the car had some recall items. Had it not been for Denny's professional advice, I likely wouldn't have been able to save any money and would have paid full price for the fixes. Denny also gained nothing from helping me by providing his advice, he just did me a really awesome solid so I could get back home to Chicago and get back to work after being stranded for the weekend when the lights started on Friday evening.In return for his kindness, I'll be advising my friends from WI to take their vehicles here and I'll be doing the same the next time I need a routine service and I'm in MKE.I can't thank you enough, Denny! If you tell me your favorite beer, I'll at least bring a 6 pack by since my car won't need any routine stuff for a bit (I hope). Great place! Great people! Reminds me of why I have always loved WI! First brought my vehicle here earlier this year for an oil problem, replaced oil pressure switch, which was just the start of a nightmare. Denny and Paul tipped me off to certain engine problem with my vehicle, told to keep an eye on oil level. Being concerned, I took it to a Hyundai dealer to have it checked and they told me all was fine..... fast forward to June 2022, total engine failure due to the known engine problem! I thank them a million times over for the advice and knowledge they have! My car is currently undergoing new engine repairs (all under warranty) thankfully! And a loaner at no charge. Never would have known this and would be stuck with $$$ for major repairs. They know what they re doing.Service: General repairs & maintenance

After being jerked around by local dealerships with service diagnostics and being told I needed an oil change (which was untrue...) all the way to a full engine rebuild (which also untrue...), I was beginning to lose hope. I was fortunate enough to find Denny at North Avenue Auto who happened to fit me into his schedule, diagnose my vehicle issues and resolve within 24 hours. I can't say enough about this kind of service. Locals in the area are going to be missing some serious customer service and quality care when small shops like North Ave Auto are no longer around.
