Went for an oil change for my Audi, and left with missing a cap, a missing dipstick and a towel left behind under the hood. Unfortunately it s not even worth reaching out to management as the oil change and recommended brake flush had occurred back in April 2023. Composing this review in January 2024, as I ve recently gone to International Auto for an oil change and all missing parts were discovered and the dirty rag was located within. Since April 2023 my brake light was on and I completely regret not looking under the hood and not calling to deal with the situation then. Update Review.Thank you for taking the time to reply to my review, alongside all other one star reviews. Unfortunately date range is not the point of the matter here, the work performed on my vehicle was a display of unprofessionalism. Considering the brake fluid cap and engine dipstick was displaced and a shop rag was left behind in the vehicle.

AMAZING REPAIR SHOP, they are very friendly and kind, very knowledgeable, if the front desk person doesn t know enough about what you re talking about, they ll seek out a professional for advice and information. I can respect that to the fullest for being VERY transparent and honest. They are significantly cheaper than dealerships for the same service and original parts. They do an amazing job and even provided me with before and after photos, which is much appreciated. They helped get rid of my Check Engine Light at an amazing cost while the dealership tried charging me $6k more! I ll definitely be coming here way more often for any future issues and will recommend this place to everybody!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Came in with my boyfriend for an appointment at 2. Some lady took pictures of the car and got in it for some reason, got out and had to get back in because she left her vape in the car, She was most likely vaping in the car, and her manly attitude she showed towards us at the end was unprofessional. Ended up waiting for 30-40 minutes, Then the mechanic ended up taking the car for a joyride when it wasn't needed at all, (Alignment). They said it was a gentle "test drive", but we witnessed the mechanic floor it and roughly pull out if the lot. We had heavy fragile stuff in the trunk, and when we checked to see it was okay, it was tossed around. It would not have been tossed around if it were a "gentle test drive". This was a joyride, and in the end they refused to do the service. (Most likely because they overheard our concern). As a woman, I don't know much about cars but even I could clearly see they treated the car poorly, and acted in an unprofessional manner. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I've been going there for the past 4 years. Rear brakes, calipers, Axle shaft, water pump, timing belt, Transmission and most recently front brakes, rotors-ABS-Anti skid, Electric fan motor, Axle Assembly and finally Control Module. You get the idea been there before. Fine Work, sometimes slow to call and tell you the progress or Update when work will be done. But Okay. Until now this last work on the front brakes and system has come into question (that's why 4 stars). I had to change my battery and taking off the cover and replacing the battery I notice a hole on the top edge of the Plastic Brake Reservoir (I thought they would have caught this doing the Brakes and the Swollen Rubber cap gasket which I had a heck of time getting off) as I had a slight Thumping noise coming from the front end, they could look at that too. I figure I'll drop it off which I did on Saturday. They said they couldn't look at it till Monday, No problem. I was more concerned about the Reservoir Hole then the Thumping noise and made that clear. Monday goes by Tuesday, Wed, Thurs. Friday still No word I dropped by late Friday after 4:00pm it's ''Oh ! I was going to call you about the Thumping Noise I can't hear anything. Let's take it for a ride''. Took for ride he hears the noise now that I point it out, okay, ''We can look at it Monday'' I ask what about the Hole in the Brake Reservoir, he said, "The Mechanic says you can drive it like that'', I'm like really. ''Just use some Epoxy if you want.'' The next day Saturday I picked it up. The slight Thumping least of my worries and so now I'm taking their advice and put some Epoxy for the hole. Buying a New reservoir cap too. I was kind of Leery but I'm not a Mechanic, so I'll go with what they say. They're the Experts.

Went in to do a inspection on my CLS, customer service was great, seemed like a good place, got the car back, paid the inspection as I drove on on my dashboard marked my hood was open, I pulled over and it was, and the reason it was left open was because the engine cover wasn t even put back on after inspection, causing the hood not to properly shut. That s a very easy thing that could of been avoided, if they secured it properly and that could of also caused my hood to fly up while driving, will not go back, attention to detail is not there, if they can t simply shut a hood right and install engine covers back on it makes me wonder if they could properly perform more complex things. I ended up having the work performed at a different euro shop

I used to bring my cars here prior to 2021 as I knew 2 of the mechanics. I brought my Mercedes 4matic here in June 2023 because it was making a a noise that I diagnosed as bearings in the transfer case. Service Writer Jose agreed. He told me it's a sealed unit and needs to replaced as a unit and the only one available was $5800 and with labor, it would cost me $8100. He said however, he'd be interested to buy the car from me for about $800. Well, the car (before needing the repair) was worth about $6000. So I was not going to spend $8100 on it and I certainly wasn't going to sell it for $800. He sure seemed eager to buy it! Anyway, I took it to a real transmission shop where the owner took out the transfer case, replaced the bad bearings and the car is perfect now - for a total of $2100. If Import Minded doesn't do transmissions, that's fine, just say so. Never going back here again.

This place will ultimately save you 100s of dollars if you normally go to international. The people are nice at the desk and pretty personable. They explained pretty well the issues I was having and what was needed to fix it.I never feel like I'm being ripped off or anything. I reccomnd this place to anyone with a European car that needs an alternative place to get their car fixed. But do note they only work with OEM parts, and that might be a turn-off for some people. So if you like your car stock, this is the place to bring it to. Also, I highly reccomnd bringing your car here for its regular service. They have some really great deals for regular maintenance. And it by far the cheapest place to get an oil change for my car that isn't a quick oil change place.

I was in a bit of a situation with my VW tiguan. I had some noise on the front end and some warning lights on my dash. I contacted the dealer, and they said I shouldn't drive my car but were booking multiple weeks out. I contacted Jose at Import Minded and he was able to get me in the next day and identify every issue that I threw at him. Major kudos to everyone that worked on my car and got me out the same day. They have earned a longtime customer. All I have to say is THANK YOU and will be seeing you soon with the rest of our vehicles

I'm a mechanic and I sent a customer there because he said he thought he needed to get a thermostat replaced (I was too busy) and if they would've diagnosed it first(by simply pouring coolant in it) they would've noticed he had a hole in the engine block where coolant was leaking from which was right behind the thermostat bracket..i understand you just doing your job but for someone to pay around $1500 and then to be told they may need a new engine later is just not right smh..a simple diagnostic test would saved the customer lots of money shame on you guys

The guys at Import Minded are fast and efficient. The service I have received as a customer over the past three years has been comprehensive and consistently great. They all make it easy, even in stressful situations. I have nothing negative to say about these guys, they re stellar.

We just discovered Import Minded on a recommendation of a coworker. At this point we have had three wonderful service experiences. Most recently, I needed my new tire repaired, I called in the middle of the morning and they were able to fit me in at lunchtime on a Friday. With today's labor shortages, I was highly impressed with this service. They got my car in and out right away. Our first experience was breaks, roters and tires on our 2017 Volvo. We have previously only had this vehicle serviced at the dealership. The quote from Import Minded was several hundred dollars less. The parts used were high quality. Four months later 0 problems with the work performed. Our second experience was with our daughter's Nissan. It needed new tires and had a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. During the quote process, we were given feedback on the different tires available, as we are typically used to one particular brand that was much more expensive. We asked questions about the brand and received knowledgeable replies. This was also our experience with our Volvo quote process. So we had the tires replaced and they diagnosed the noise complaint. What we loved is they gave us a quote to fix the problem and told us, it was not an absolute necessity to have it repaired right now, but soon. There's a true feeling of honesty at Import Minded, no high pressure sales. Also very patient and knowledgeable when giving quotes via email and not trying to upsell the customers.Thank you for taking good care of our families cars!Services: Tires, Brakes, Auto maintenance

Never returning here. The manager tried to charge me $1,000+ for replacing the oil and claimed to have found metal in the oil pan while claiming that "there may be an oil tube leak." I visited another auto shop, and they did not charge me $1,000+,and my car runs flawlessly. They won't show you the evidence of metal in the oil pan; thisshop could be better. These males think they can exploit women, but I'm a woman first.

Had them take a look at my sister's c250 benz they told her it needed a head gasket that's why it was leaking oil. I looked at it afterwards and it was the turbo return line o ring. Replaced the whole line for $50 bucks and now it's fine. Be very careful going here especially if your a woman

Had Branden (the technician) stretch two 235/35/19 tires on 19x10 wheels without scratching the wheels at all. The wheels had been repainted the day prior and I was concerned about taking them to a shop to have stretched tires put on them as mounting low-profile 19-inch tires is hard enough as is before accounting for a stretched tire as well. Thanks again!Updating this review one year later as Import Minded is now my permanent mechanic for all maintenance, not just wheel/tire related maintenance. After a few perfect experiences with wheel/tire services, I began bringing my car here for everything as they have been beyond good to me. Great people and mechanics as well as great prices. The labor rate is reasonable and they do not take liberties in overcharging for time. Small services that I have been quoted a full hour for, and agreed to, have been adjusted to as low as .3 hours at the time of invoice. Smaller services have been performed out of good will. They have taken the time to inspect issues and research all options in terms of parts to replace it with, in order to find OEM or better (if possible) parts. In fact, I'd like to thank Tedd especially for all of his help in researching options to replace a leaking coolant hose/coupler in my vehicle. My car uses a coolant hose connected to a plastic coupler that is known to deteriorate and fail. Manufacturers have made aluminum flanges as an upgrade to the factory plastic flange. I knew this going in to the replacement, and requested for an upgraded aluminum coupler to be installed. Tedd agreed that an aluminum coupler would be best, and went the extra mile to find the best possible option, a pre-fabbed hose/coupler assembly which I did not even know existed. Furthermore, he took the time to research the various manufacturers that sold them to find the highest-reviewed one. Knowing Tedd dedicated so much time and effort in finding a high-quality replacement, coupled with their 2-year/24k mile warranty on all parts they replace, makes me very glad I continue to bring my car here for maintenance.Import Minded checks all the boxes that one looks for in a mechanic -- from friendly, knowledgable service writers, to experienced, respectful technicians. They go the extra mile to make sure their customers are taken care of.

They lied about pricing to reel me in , they took 5 days to look at my then tried to charge me $139 for diagnostics after they told me $115 , tried to charge me $2500 for a steering column that bmw sells for $1800 after taxes , and $3300 to replace a steering column that I don t need when he clearly just told me my digital lock (steering column lock) is what s bad , basically trying to force me to switch the whole steering column out when I don t necessarily have to. When I could ve just took it to the bmw dealership in that case x they wouldn t have took 5 days to look at my car from the start ! Also the guy didn t even want to tell me the exact part that was wrong with my car from the start, I had to keep asking and he slipped up and said it ! I don t recommend anyone thats looking for prices better than the dealership to bring their cars here!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I unfortunately haven t been the luckiest person as far as car repairs have gone as of lately. I originally took my car into Import Minded which had been highly recommended to me and I m glad I did! I have been a repeat customer ever since! From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Charlie is great and always takes the time to explain exactly what your repair all entails and has always been extremely trustworthy and honest when it comes to the diagnoses. I would definitely recommend Import Minded to anyone looking for quality work and a great price! I will for sure be giving Import Minded my business in the future if needed!

Recently, my car cranked but wouldn't start while I was miles from my home. I took a 10 minute break and thankfully the car started. Not wanting to be stranded in the winter, I took it right over to Import Minded -- based on many positive reviews that I'd read. Import Minded ran every diagnostic and reported no problems found. The professional I spoke with patiently explained every test. All I needed was overdue maintenance - brake fluid, oil change. Fair prices! Honest technicians! I will definitely go there again.

If you don't read any reviews please stop here. My husband and I took our 2012 VW sport here to have the front struts and bearing replaced. They were professional accurate with the price and upfront with us from the beginning, we cannot be more happier. We took our car previously to the dealership to have them repair the back struts and the price was almost four times higher than what we were quoted for this place. I would recommend this place and will definitely be taking all of our vehicles here as I appreciate the honesty, great customer service, and reasonable pricing. I would also like to specially think Charlie who was kind enough to help us over the phone as well as in person. If you have a foreign car please save your wallet and yourself a headache by going here first!

If you're a person that likes good customer service, precise pricing and honesty, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They will act as though they know exactly what you need done to your vehicle, but all the while they're plotting on how to get more money from you. I myself have came into this shop off and on for a few years and every time there's a different manager and employees. I am a generally nice person and try at all cost not to lose my cool, but these people will look you right in the eyes and lie to you. I've gotten basic maintenance done to my vehicle and everytime the bill has gone up everytime. Also, it comes back with a different scratch or ding. I've recently just needed light bulbs replaced and was told by the manager Charles, that I needed all new lenses instead. Pricing them at a couple hundred a piece. I decided to take it to another shop and like I knew, I only needed the bulbs replaced. Please stay away from this place, they will charge you unreasonable prices and mess other things up. Not to mention not put caps or screws back on or into things.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Even though the mechanic Brandon was forthright, I cannot say the same about the owner. His dishonest overcharging for hours worked on my Mercedes and lack of customer service will forever keep me from giving him my business again. A little professionalism and understanding goes a long way to keep loyal customers. It's all about the money for this guy. I would not recommend him or his shady ways of doing business. Stay very far away from Import Minded. I will tell all my family and friends that this place is a scam. $1300 later and my check engine light is still on. First time I was charged 6 hours of work which took 3 hours and second time $137 for 15 minutes of work and that's including them reading the diagnostic. Then, Import Minded quoted me $2200 to replace my radiator, however I went to Meyers Import and they did it for $1200 with honest and thorough work. Meyers Import quoted me 6 hours of work but got it done in 4.5 hours and charged me less than the quote. Now thats integrity and honest business! Only reason I went back to Import Minded the second time was for warranty work on the camshaft sensors which they did not do. I should have looked at the prior reviews before giving them my business in the first place. There's a reason why there are consistent bad reviews for this place.

I have been taking my vehicles and motorcycle to Import Minded for almost a decade. I have had oil changes, brakes, tires, tie rod end replacement, caliper replacement, A/C recharges, and others that I'm sure I am forgetting, and have never left unhappy. I have even shopped around for quotes dozens of times but never found a better deal. The service writers take an interest in my personal needs and cater the service to me! For example, once I mentioned that I was preparing to move to the south, and they recommended a completely different set of tires that would fare better on hot, summer roads. This set of tires happened to be more affordable than the tires that would fare well in WI. I'm sure I have interacted with the entire staff, and they are such a friendly, caring, and professional group.Oftentimes, the mechanic working on your car will actually come and speak with you - which I have never heard of happening at a dealership. They have always ensured that I (and my friends who I've sent here) understand what is going on with the car (i.e. the diagnosis), the short-term and long-term impacts of the issue, and exactly what they are doing to fix it.Sadly, I moved to North Carolina in 2019. However, I think it speaks volumes that whenever I drive back to WI to visit, I have my car serviced by the techs at Import Minded. I love this shop and would recommend it over any other in the Milwaukee area.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Oil change

Took my VW Jetta there based on a referral and so glad I did. They know their imports and was able to trouble shoot my codes and pinpoint the cause. Unlike the dealership which would have replaced all code sensors, they knew one cause dictated the others and created a plan to fix. They needed to just replace a crankcase speed sensor and reflash. Done! Very happy! Highly recommend!

I've been taking my Hondas to Import Minded for more than 25 years for pretty much every repair imaginable. Steve (the owner) and his crew have always been fair and professional. I've never been talked down to which is more than I can say for most car repair places. I trust them with my car over dealing with the dealerships, which I greatly prefer. Would highly recommend them to anyone with an import car model.Services: Transmission, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

Brought my wife's Audi A4 in for noise problem. Josh was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He thoroughly explained everything. They found out the problem (not what we all thought it was) and had parts and fixed the same day. I would highly recommend Import Minded for any vehicle based on the fantastic service and more importantly, the ethics of Josh and his crew. I thought the prices were reasonable and will be going back to them for all my vehicles.
