This is an excellent example of why we should continue to support local businesses. The guys here are very accommodating and honest, and the quality of their services are on par with dealerships - without the pretense. Highly recommended and my new shop of choice!

Trustworthy + good work. They replaced my car s spark plugs and ignition coil. Showed me the old, worn out parts that they removed. Final cost was the same as the quote.

Hard to overstate how good this place is. Family owned and operated and you can tell. Yahya was amazing. Communicated everything clearly, worked attentively through my problem to find the best, most affordable solution, and even waited with me for my tow truck. This place didn't even do the job they just took my money and claimed it was fixed but a real mechanic fixed my car and told me the piece that needed to be changed wasn't even removed.. the dude is going to be more focused on smoking weed out the vape pin then doing what there getting paid to do..... I most definitely don't recommend these slums

Went in for a state emissions test because it was closest to home, but glad I stumbled upon them. Very friendly and quick and I enjoyed talking to Yousef while I waited. Will definitely come back for service in the future.

I have taken my car in several times. My first time was for an emission test. They were prompt and super nice. I have come in for oil changes and the service was great. When my car was leaking fluid, they got me right in so they could diagnose it even though they may not have been able to get it in right away. The service is great and these guys are knowledgeable. When I first moved to Milwaukee, I heard about an auto shop that was supposed to be amazing, but they never called back or responded to the contact form that I filled out on their website, so I decided to find another place. I did quite a bit of research and everything was pointing me to First Rate Motors, so I took my car there for my first service issue after I moved. The guys there are great. They are straightforward and honest. I mostly interact with Yahya who is a straight up solid guy - really empathetic and will do what he can to make it a smooth experience. Most of the other times I see Joe, the owner, and he's always been great to interact with, letting me know exactly what's going on and the best way forward with a repair. I will always give my money to a smaller, local independent shop over a massive dealership, and I'm happy to give it to First Rate. Highly recommend.

I visited First Rate Auto for my emissions test - they were so friendly and the service was great! They did the test, put air in my tires, and renewed my registration in less than 10 minutes.

I came in for an emissions test after finding them online, and was on my way maybe 15 minutes later. The guy that helped me was personable and friendly. For all the 1 star reviews regarding emissions testing, if you read their reviews, the tone of the review is frustration with the testing process itself, not this shop. Honestly we all should be thankful they are still doing the emissions test, it is nearly impossible to find a place still doing the tests these days.The only thing is it can be hard to find parking, and the hours on the sign are different than what is stated on the phone. Right now it is M-F 12-3.Also if you fail your emissions test, that's your car's fault, they aren't trying to steal you money. Don't take your frustration's out on a bad review of this place.

My first visit to First-Rate Motors went very well. The vehicle I went to look at was exactly the way it was described online.. Both brothers were extremely polite, they were not pushy, they were very helpful and shared history and details on the vehicle I went to look at. I would definitely recommend this business. They have very nice cars for fair prices I'm most likely going back to purchase a vehicle from them. They have fantastic reviews which says a lot about their reputation. Not easy to find a reputable used car dealer these days. I'm pretty sure I just did!

My vehicle had been stolen and it was pass emissions testing time so my plates were expired when it was returned to me. It needed to have an emissions testing so I took it to first rate auto Long story short they went beyond my expectations Contacted the DMV on my behalf and get me an extension because of the recent troubles I had Honestly goodness the customer service was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10

Yet again Yahya and the First Rate Service Team were exceptional getting me set with my emissions and plates renewal. I also needed them to change my oil, filters, and check/replace my battery after my Subaru was sitting for the last year due to a hospitalization. While Sommers could confirm past service dates and parts for them, I am still in a wheelchair and was unable to haul my car to the dealership for servicing as usual. Yahya was awesome at coordinating a jump and transport to First Rate and arranging all the necessary fixes before returning my 'Ru to it's parking spot with updated tags and gear. Hope I don't need them for a while, but so grateful to have such wonderful neighbors available in a pinch!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Shukran ( )!!

Stopped in for emissions testing and an oil change. They were extremely courteous and professional. I had the opportunity to sit and speak with Yahya, who was working the front desk, and was very glad for the opportunity. The whole process made me feel like I'd known them for years or like I was at a friend's shop, even though it's my first time using them. They will definitely be my go-to going forward

I went in for an emissions test a few days ago. Yahya was very professional & nice throughout the entire process. My tire pressure symbol was on & he put air in my tires, free of charge. I will be returning in the next couple of days for a few more services. Customer service is a 10/10!

Walked in for an emissions test (they don t take appointments), was helped immediately & was in and out within 10 minutes! Renewed my plates there and walked away with new stickers too, so convenient. Staff was so incredibly kind and helpful, cannot recommend them enough!

I always trust these folks with my car. They re even nice enough to give me a ride to/from work from their shop when I need something done on my car since I work close. They helped tow my car when I had a blown tire and literally took care of everything. They gave me good deals when I had multiple issues going on w my car. Highly recommend!

I got in the very next day and it only took them 3 hours to fix the part I needed repair on. I was treated with welcome & respect & as top priority even though I was a first time customer. Their prices were reasonable and consistent with estimates I looked on online. I was pleasantly surprised in the way they treated their customers with dignity & respect compared to other auto shops I've been too. And I got my car back in no time!

They gave me a permanent fix to my car light problem. I am so grateful that I stopped in First Rate Auto. Two other mechanics had tried to fix it but their repairs were only temporary. 6 months ago I stopped by First Rate Auto and they took apart the entire assembly and gave me a comprehensive fix that continues to work well to this day.

Came here for emissions testing when a lot of places were closed due to weather and the holidays, bc I was going to be gone for an extended period of time. Yahya saved the day, and was able to fit me in when everyone else was closed, couldn t due to cold, or was booked up. Really appreciate the help! Thank you!!!

Yahya helped me today, fixed my car and got it done very affordable. Also does emissions testing very hard to find places that do them in Milwaukee.

Came for an emissions test and was told "It's not like the old days, it'll be about 5 minutes" which in my experience usually means quite a bit longer than 5 minutes. They stuck to it; I went around to check out the cars they had and came back up and the gentleman was politely waiting for me with my key and results. After making him wait, I felt the least I could do was leave a positive review!

Communication and accountability, the team at First Rate helped me multiple times with quick and appropriate service on my vehicle. When it was something covered by warrantee, they suggested using the dealer to get coverage.Big fan of this local service shop!

These guys were the nicest I've ever worked with. They did my fuel emissions so quickly and gave me a deal on a new battery and oil change. I just found my new go-to place for whatever my car needs.

I Have been using this shop for over 13 years. all though the location is out of my way, I find them to be very knowledgeable and trustworthy. with their help my 2000 Honda Accord still run as good as the day I bought it. I also service 2 work truck by them.the customer service is great and the fresh coffee is a plus.Thank you First Rate.

Joe and company have been servicing my cars for many years. He kept my 10 year old Hyundai working like new and had it not been rear-ended and totaled, I might still be driving it now because it was still in such great condition. My current car was purchased from Joe on the dealer side. It was a great value and I'm really happy. Joe managed to get me an extra remote and program it himself, saving me a ton of money from going to a dealership. I would definitely recommend First Rate even if Joe's brother is a bit weird. I'm totally kidding, Yahya is great, too!

My wife called to ensure they took our warranty coverage and the deductible was to be $50 if they were connected to Carmax as a provider. The manager stated they were and so I brought my gmc 2500hd duramax in for a check engine light. I was told it was a temperature gage which they replaced. I question that though. He then said he call me back but didn't and when I called he said it was my catalytic converter and def filter. He then told me it won't be covered under the policy and told me it would be over $5,500 to fix. I was blown away that at 140,000 miles all that could be broke. I told him to fix what was under warranty and let me see if the engine light comes back on. Well, it did. So I took it to a friend's shop after having a number of issues to include filter cleaning system would not engage on def system and when def was filled it would not acknowledge it. The mechanic put it in regis and the def not filled would still not clear even though def was full. So he dropped the fuel tank to check the catalytic converter and def system and found 3 main wires disconnected and shoved under the gas tank. Basically, First Rate Auto disconnected my wires to make it look like I had 5500 of work needing done. I am reporting them to the BB as well as warning everyone they are dishonest and will try to scam you. For all I know they would have charged me and just connected the wires to make it look like they fixed something. Be careful you have been warned!

I moved to the Milwaukee area 3.5 years ago and needed a mechanic in the area for my very old car. They were recommended by a friend and they have never steered me wrong at First Rate. Joe, the owner, is a very nice guy who will explain exactly what is wrong with your vehicle. I trust First Rate enough that I bought one of their used vehicles to replace my old car. The car runs perfectly and I got a great deal!I have family members who are mechanics so I'm a bit picky about who touches my car and I won't go anywhere else now. I highly recommend them!
