TL:DR - Bill's held my car hostage, damaged it while it was in their possession, then was unresponsive to attempts to contact re: damages. This summer I was in a car/deer accident. Bill's was dispatched by my insurance to tow my car. Instead of taking it to the repair lot as instructed, they took it back to their lot. After a couple of days of not taking the car to the shop, they stated that my insurance needed to contact them to authorize release. We found out it was because they wanted $1400 for the tow. Insurance took steps to get that in motion, but Bill's still would not release the car and insisted they had to deliver it, which delayed the process further. Finally they got my car to the repair shop.Once I got my car back after repairs were completed, I discovered that there was other damage (rear bumper and quarter panel, and center console). Had clear evidence that the damage was not present when the car was loaded onto the truck but was present when it arrived at the repair shop. Bill's was unresponsive to myself, the repair shop, my insurance agent, and the contracting company between insurance and Bill's. Eventually we were able to get payment from the contracting company who advised they would continue to follow up with Bill's. Don't know what ever came of that.(I am posting this to both Bill's locations - I believe towing was dispatched from Middleton but intake and followup was handled through Lodi location.)Edit to add, in response to owner's reply: This simply is not true. When the incident happened and I called my insurance company, we established that the car would be taken to the selected repair shop. The insurance company and repair shop were as surprised as I was when they learned that the car was taken to your facility, as that was not the agreed plan. But even if we put that part aside, that does not address the damage done to my car while it was in your hands, and that you would not respond to myself, the repair shop, my insurance, nor your own contracting and insuring company. We all attempted to call and contact you about this problem, but you did not follow through.I would love it if you would investigate this service call and its followup. If you can provide me an email address I would be happy to reach out, but I have no need or desire to chase you on the phone.

Bill's Towing and Automobile Repair was a great experience from the time needing their service and the care they provided my father during a rainy, foggy and dark evening. They were timely and patient with him and that was priceless. Ron was helpful the next day when we picked up the vehicle. Thank you!!!

Absolutely aweful experience with these people. We weren't home when our 17 y.o. son hit a parked car 3 blocks from the house. He called the police, who recommended this tow service. The tow truck driver could've towed the car 3 blocks to our house, but convinced our sun that our insurance would pay to tow the car to their storage facility. Sounds like a great idea to a 17 year old. No talk of it being an impound lot. Fast forward a few days later with us scrambling to get another car, we call the service to find out we owe 1300+ dollars for tow and storage, but they'll give us a break with 200.00 to scrap the car. Unbelievable that they take advantage of a kid, and I can't believe the police recommend these people.

Driver was great to work with, salvaging a star here, but as another review noted- this is not actually a repair shop. It's probably helpful to get people to hire the tow by listing it in the business name, but (if repairs were found to be needed after extracting the vehicle) taking it to their shop was clearly not an option in reality.

DO NOT RECOMMEND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I met my husband for a trip in the Dells (we live in MKE) and drove separately. On our way back his car broke down on expressway with no warning what so ever. Luckily I was following him. A sheriff pulled up and I explained I had insurance that covered jumping, towing, etc. My insurance unfortunately said they were short on drivers and if I wanted to call my own company they would reimburse me. The Sheriff recommends Bill's Towing which I already had pulled up on my phone. He said "let me call", they know me, they will come faster. NEVER do that!!A gentleman came pretty quickly, tried to jump my car but said it may be the alternator. They had a shop 2 miles away but weren't sure when they could look at it. He reassured me that if they looked at it I wouldn't be charged any storage or I could call Hyundai on Monday and see if they could take it. I told them I wanted to check with my insurance on Monday and I may see if I can get it towed to MKE.On Monday, they quoted me $1500 to tow under a 100 miles. I said I would pay the diagnostic fee of $125 and maybe wait for them to fix it at their shop. They call back and say they have no clue what is wrong. NOTHING but they did charge $125. I said ok, I have no choice but to tow it to Hyundai. (Husbands Jeep was towed last year and the 97 mile tow was $350).My first tow (which they said was 2 miles to the next exit) was ~$660!!! They charged me "impound" towing charges!!! I was charged $195 for Sheriff calling, $60 in Admin fees, an extra $30 for using a credit card which was STUPID Excessive. They then charged me another ~$357 to tow it 20 mins to Madison. I have NEVER seen ridiculous charges like this in my life and have had several tows!DO NOT USE this company. They did end up reimbursing the $150 "storage fees" for the 2 days it was there. Luckily, Hyundai is giving us a loaner and a brand new engine on my 13.5 year old car.
