I was having an issue with my car door and decided to pull into Ball Body Shop. I was explaining my issue to to the attendant at the counter when Scott Ackerman told my to pull my car into the bay. He quickly assessed my issues and asked me to have a seat in the waiting room. After about five minutes Scott came to get me and told me I was all ready to go, issues were solved, quickly and at no charge!! Amazing, kind and very appreciated!

I crushed a raccoon on my way to work with my 2012 Toyota Camry, which took out the lower cowling and radiator. Every place I contacted was out until late May. When I called Ball, they recommended Schmit Towing (also awesome) to get my car from my work parking lot to Ball Body. They worked seamlessly with my insurance company to get an estimate and the parts needed. Then they called me a week later with the work finish and the car ready to go. It took about 5 minutes to pay the deductible, and I was on my way. Thank you Ball Body Shop! Great people, excellent service, and first-rate autobody work.Service: Body & Trim

I have had more auto troubles to figure out than I should have. Every time I ve had any sort of issue, I ve contacted Scott and the rest of the Ball team and they ve handled whatever I brought in incredibly quickly, with great communication and craftsmanship.They don t charge for unnecessary or things left undiscussed, and I have the utmost confidence in them.They also answer each of my many questions about from paint work to engine repair to taking care of a stubborn door.Highly recommended service:)(Pictures attached are of light paint damage, but they ve taken care of my engine, repainting and body damage as well)Services: Painting, Vehicle maintenance

Someone backed into my vehicle and damaged my front bumper and grill. The insurance company chose ball body shop. After leaving my vehicle there for 3 weeks they called and said my vehicle was fixed. Here s where ball body shop failed.1. My car was parked in the lot. I never run my gas tank low. The gas tank was almost empty. It was run there close to empty.2. Before I could start my car, the battery was dead. If they knew my battery was low, why didn t they charge it before I got there? It sat outside in below zero temps for two weeks.3. After they put a charger on my battery, waiting 30 minutes my vehicle started, but was very low on gas. Then it ran out of gas. The person at the front desk said she had a gas can and there was a gas station 1/4 mile down the road. Suddenly someone else realized they needed to go get some gas for my vehicle.They never showed me the repair they made. Why didn t they bring my vehicle inside before I got there to check it out. Start it up. Make sure it works. And show me the work they did.-Ran my vehicle out of gas.-Let the battery die and didn t charge it before I was told it was ready.-Suggested I grab an empty gas can and walk 1/2 mile to gas up my vehicle.-Never showed me the repairs they made.Definitely in need of some serious customer service training because it s clear customer service is not an area they are good at.I felt sorry for them. They had no idea they totally failed.

I had a great experience at Ball Body Shop. I came in with scrapes on the side of my car. Rebecca was so kind and buffed it out for me as much as she could, and painted over it so it wouldn't rust - all on the spot and completely free of charge!! Thank you!!!

We brought our car in to get an estimate on some scratches. Cim was available to look at it right away and laid out our options. He was able to buff it out by hand which saved us a lot of time and money. We are so appreciative of Cim and his knowledge and kindness. We highly recommend Cim and Ball Body Shop and would return in the future.

I needed to replace my driver side mirror after an encounter with a deer and had purchased a replacement. The impact from the deer had puckered the metal to which the mirror was attached. I wanted to see if any additional damage was done so brought it for an estimate at Ball Body Shop's convenient drive up. The estimator, Cim, looked everything over and we concluded the mirror was all that was needed. It was dangerous to drive without the mirror. I could either get on their schedule a month later or call around to mechanics. Cim assessed the current work load and offered to replace the mirror for me on the spot. This was such an amazing and unexpected offer. I took a seat in the waiting room while Cim got to work. I was SO relieved and grateful to have this done quickly so I could drive safely. Thank you, Cim and Ball Body Shop!

Cim and the staff at Ball Body are top notch. Cim let me watch as he fixed my car leak. Made suggestions on diy maintenance and preventative care. While watching the work Cim was through with no short cuts on the car work. Price is good for what you get and have no issue recommending to friends and family and random people on the internet! On the plus side...the body repair looks like new. It isn't cheap, but it seems like no body shop is. On the negative side...communication was poor. Not just between us and Ball, but also between Ball and Smart Toyota. Very frustrating and confusing. But it all ended up okay.

Had Scott Ackerman take care of my car on May 18, 2022. The car was hit by another car leaving a massive scratch. He got it buffed out and looking brand new. Also washed it for me. I have been to this business two times in the last 6 months to get estimates on getting work done on two different vehicles. First time I was getting an estimate for some imperfections that needed some work on a Lexus I was selling--The person I worked with said I didn't need to have the body work done, but just getting the car detailed would take care of what I was looked to have done--I appreciated the honesty and help that first time. Then I went back today(July 3rd) to get another estimate for a couple of things that were wrong with my new Lexus( to me)--the two things that I had them look at, they couldn't give me an estimate on them but out of kindness, Scott Ackerman took an extra few minutes and got the housing around one of the exhaust opening in the back of my vehicle back in place and a loose panel on the front of my vehicle back in as good as they could also. I would definitely recommend going to them for any body work you need done and they are honest and are very helpful if they are able to take care of the issue at the time.

I stopped in about an hour before closing and quickly found out that Ball Body Shop does not do estimates in that last hour, despite being "open". I spoke with a very nice person at the front desk and an estimator did make an exception since I was only minutes past 5pm, and look at my vehicle. The estimator wanted a second opinion from another employee so I was asked to come back the next day.I came back the next business day and spoke to a very busy second estimator who was in a poor mood. His behavior and attitude made it clear he did not want the job and was too busy to provide an estimate. The rushed "estimate" he gave me was a complete joke -- THOUSANDS of dollars different from the other two estimates I already had -- Clearly not in the "BALL" park (pun intended)!Ball Body shop wasted my time and fuel with 2 dedicated trips to their facility just to walk away with nothing but a bad experience. I would have rated Ball Body Shop 1-star, but the two female employees I talked to on my first visit were very nice, respectful, and polite, and to me that matters!

I stopped by the shop yesterday with my 18-year-old Honda CRV. My car had front grill/bumper damage and it was separating from the frame. My estimator Cim Retzlaff carefully looked over the car and noted the age and the likely costs of replacing the damaged parts and suggested to me a more logical solution--I agreed to his recommendation and 20 minutes later after he had personally reinstalled the grill and bumper cover, I was able to drive away unexpectantly with a repaired vehicle. Cim was friendly, professional, honest, and willing to go the extra mile in helping me, a total stranger. I can't recommend high enough about how well I was treated by this kind individual--thanks again Cim and Ball Body Shop! Well done!Service: Body & Trim

I was extremely pleased with the high level of customer service at Ball Body Shop. I called in on Monday requesting the installation of a tail light assembly. Cim requested I come in on Wednesday prior to 4 PM. The entire installation was handled in less than 15 minutes. You have gained a customer who will tell others of your efficiency and high level of customer service!

I drove into Ball for them to check out my bumper that had come off the pins on both sides. Scott Ackerman came out and looked at it and said that eventually I will need to replace it but for the meantime, he popped it into place and was able to somehow able to attach with some pins. He charged me nothing! What a great guy! When the bumper does eventually need to be replaced, I will for sure go to Ball!

Five stars are not enough to rate our experience with Cim at Ball Body Shop today. He went above and beyond to help us find and fix a problem with our Toyota Sienna. And did it all with a smile.

Scott Ackerman and team have been excellent since Day 1. My Mercedes-Benz was a victim of a hit and run and I was left to fund the repairs on my own. Scott and the Ball Body Team were most accommodating and provided me with a detailed repair estimate with a summary of the repair process explained by Scott himself. That reassured me that this was a body shop that I could trust my car with. On the day of the drop off, I was provided a loaner and was diligently kept up to date with the repair progress on my car throughout the whole process by Scott. Upon pickup, he listened to my concerns and worked with me to resolve them without hesitation. I highly recommend you take your prized car to Scott and the Ball Body Team for any body repair needs. Shops like this are rare to come by nowadays and it s nice to have a body shop you can trust right here in Madison!

Scott and his team were friendly and helpful during all of my interactions. They were sympathetic when my vehicle was deemed a total loss by insurance, and even helped me remove my personal items in 10 degree temps. This afternoon I stopped at Ball Body Shop (a division of Smart Motors) for an estimate on repairing a small dent and some chipped paint on the front fender of my 2022 Prius.Cim Retzlaff was the estimator who examined my car and it turned out that he quickly repaired and repainted my fender on the spot. I took my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee to them on December 23rd. Was informed the following Tuesday which would be this week that Id recieve a call with an estimate, which I did not. They didn't tell me they offer complimentary cars even knowing I was now without a vehicle. (I actually found out they even offer them by calling to inquire about my jeep) which upset me quite a bit as I had a rental for a week I paid 900 for and have been without a car for 3 days having to have my 7 month pregnant girlfriend bring me back and forth to work. When I called them today on Friday Dec 30th I was informed "bigger projects" came in and my jeep wasnt the priority. I then asked if you havent started work but took all the pictures why can't I pick up my perfectly drivable vehicle until you guys have the time to work on it? The response was "let me talk to my manager" I instead decided to pick my vehicle up and take my hard earned money elsewhere to a repair shop that treats me more fairly and with respect. Very poor communication from the shop and overall a very unprofessional experience. Would not recommend at all.

I dropped by Ball Body Shop without an appointment to ask for some advice on what to do about a broken clip that failed to keep my front bumper in place. What I got was much better than advice--my bumper was fixed on the spot with some professional problem solving and improvisation by the staff member who took a look for me. He needed to create a solution that would work around the crack in the original clip system. I was so grateful for the swift assessment, solution, and fix. It was completely unexpected! My visit was finished in 15-20 minutes and when I asked how much I owed he said "No charge." This was a rare and welcome customer experience. I would have gladly paid for this expert care, but my great customer service experience now guarantees that I will send folks their way. I regret that I did not get the name of the gentleman who helped me out--he truly cared about solving my problem. Huge thanks!Service: Body & Trim

This was the most seamless work I've ever had done on my car! The front desk staff are professional and courteous, and the estimators are great as well.They hooked me up with an excellent, clean loaner car that was in great shape.In addition, I asked about another repair I was considering having done on my car. The staff was honest and told me it probably wasn't worth the money. I thought this spoke volumes about their ethics as company.I hope to never need to have body work done on my car again but if I do I would only go here.
