Just had my repairs done today. The shop was quick, straight forward, down to earth, and fairly priced. Had everything done plus some extras within 24 hours. That's likely not always possible, but I was very happy with the service. Highly recommended.

Had my brake lines rust out a few weeks ago and needed a full front end brake job. These folks were really knowledgeable, explained their thought and work processes for what happened and why, and even put a new part on my car that I hadn't had the time to without charging me an arm and a leg.Highly highly recommend Arneson's, and I'll be coming back!

I made the mistake of having a dealer do an oil change for my Mazda. They informed me I had an oil leak and said I needed Timing Cover Reseal, quoting me a charge of $715 Plus Tax and Fees. I called Arneson's (where I had been a customer for many years) and made an appointment with Tom. He found the source of the oil leak was an Oil Pressure Switch, not the Timing Cover Reseal. He fixed the problem, gave me pictures, and charged just $250 Total, which included tax. Tom has always been very pleasant, honest, and competent. I will always go to Arneson's for any type of car maintenance and/or repair.

My husband and I have been bringing our vehicles to Arneson's for many years. Tom and Kevin have both always treated us so very well! They are extremely knowledgeable, honest and passionate about this line of work and it shows. We refuse to take our vehicles anywhere else if they ever start acting up! This is one place that will go above and beyond with integrity. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I have known Tom for 15+ years and have always taken our vehicles here . Now that my kids are grown and driving their own cars, we take ALL cars to him and Kevin. They both are so kind, pleasant , compassionate and knowledgeable. If I don t agree with a dealership, for warranty work, I ll call the only Mechanics I trust as they don t take advantage of a person EVER! Tom has always given me his honest expertise. Can t recommend this business enough. They are truly amazing and want to help people. I agree with all the positive reviews on here . None of it is false. Have car issues or questions, give Tom or Kevin a call! You won t regret it!

I made a stripping damage on drain plug while myself changed my engine oil. I assumed that both of the drain plug and hole on the oil pan would have been stripped. So I called several mechanic shops to ask the availability and price for the replacement of oil pan. I luckily got a response from Tom at Arnesons telling that they had a cancelled spot so that they could examine my car on the next day and also their cost estimate was the most reasonable. In the next morning, Tom called me to tell that the hole on the oil pan has a nice shape and so we need to replace the plug only, consequently the estimated price was drop down to one third of the initial estimate. What a great news for me! I appreciate Tom and Arneson's staffs for examining my car carefully and fixing exactly what the problem was. My English is not very good but the communication with Tom was enjoyable. Thank you Tom!Service: Auto maintenance

Brought my car somewhere else and was quoted $3500 to repair issues that didn't even exist. Arneson's was able to find the real problem, fix it for a fraction of the cost, and still get my car back to me by the end of the day. They are kind, did great work, and I will only be bringing my car here from now on. These guys were super helpful. My car has been having some engine and brake problems, and they had my car in and out by the next day (the only reason it wasn t the same day is because I was late!). They replaced everything I asked, and although they couldn t fix the engine problem, neither could several other auto shops/dealerships I ve brought my car to. They were kind and professional, and I d highly recommend them!

This is not the first time I have used Arneson's Auto Repair, the staff at Arneson's is by far one of the best around. It's like calling your Uncle who works on cars because you don't trust anyone. If you are looking for an honest auto repair shop that looks out for you more than making a buck, this is the place to go. I have been bringing all of my vehicles here for the last several years and are thankful for businesses like this that are so customer focused. Thank you !Service: Brakes

They were so friendly, so professional and so fast! They found out what was going on right away and fixed it for way cheaper than I was expecting. Compared with West Monona Tire, they were so much faster, they didn't recommend a bunch of unnecessary things to charge me more, and they were really reasonable. I highly recommend them!

Don't get your car towed here. They will take everything out of it and expect you to know what you had in it. If you don't name everything that was in it, too bad your loss their gain. This incident happened a long time ago, but I was recently reminded of this place when someone asked me about it. I didn't realize they took my jack and ratchet straps and other stuff until it was too late. Hope you got some use out of it.

Tom is wonderful! We are on a road trip and needed a quick repair on our little blue Honda. Tom was able and more than willing to help us out! A few weeks back I had a check engine light pop up, and I knew what the problem was, so I wanted to have it cleared. I didn't want to drive all the way out to Advance Auto in Verona, so I figured I would stop by one of the local shops.I wandered into Arneson's and asked if they clear check engine codes. Tom informed me that they typically charge a fee for the service, but we got to talking and he decided to clear the code for free. That's why I came back to Arneson's, because it's the little things that build customer rapport.A few weeks later I had some suspension work that I got quoted at another shop for $171. I asked Tom if he could take a look at it. Within two days, I had my car in the shop and Arneson's fixed it for $68! They didn't charge me for unnecessary parts, the tech was extremely knowledgable, and they even tightened some other bolts that they noticed when the car was in the air.I do a lot of my own work, and I drive a difficult to work on vehicle. It's important that I have a mechanic I can trust. After these two experiences, Arneson's has acquired a customer for life, or as long as I'm living in the area!

I usually never write reviews, yet I feel Arneson's Auto Repair in Middleton deserves it! This was my go to place before moving out to Colorado. These guys actually care about the well being of your vehicle. They go above and beyond to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck and they do amazing work. Since I had so many issues with my '99 VW Jetta, they told me to come before I moved/traveled 1,000 miles away for a check up on my car for no charge. If this isn't great customer service to someone that wont be back in the area, I don't know what is. I guarantee once you bring your vehicle to this location this will be your go to place for auto repair in the Madison area as well!

The guys at Arneson's are so friendly and helpful. They do a great job of talking you through what the issue is and what steps they're going to take to fix it. They do a great job at a great price. I've been to auto places all over Madison and the only person that I trust to work on my vehicles is Tom Arneson. Always fair prices and top notch work. He was able to diagnose and correct a problem that had been sent to Toyota engineers to fix and they couldn't solve so if that tells you the level of their work, can't recommend them enough.

Tom and Kevin do good work and know their stuff. They went the extra mile for me to get my wife's car completed by when I needed it back. Reasonably priced. Only room for improvement would be if they had a courtesy vehicle.

I'm extremely impressed with the service I received from this place. You are not going to get ripped off here. I once walked out of there paying $20 when I was expecting to pay way more. The mechanics here care about their customers and want to save them money too. If you are looking for an honest mechanic, this is the place!

Was referred to Arneson's but the guy on the phone kept interrupting and talking over me, giving me information about things I wasn't asking about, which he would have known if he had let me finish a sentence.EDIT: started with a 2 star review because of my experience stated above, but frankly am really impressed by their follow-up. Four stars. Hopefully just a one-time bad experience.

Really great service, nice people, honest. Told me exactly what needed doing and what could wait. I'm on a very tight budget and they really worked with me. The repairs took less time than they anticipated, as well. I recommend them to anyone who asks where they should go for repairs.

From Eau Claire, was visiting Madison and thought our transmission was going out. These guys actually drove the car with me, onto the highway and around, then gave another check when we got back. I tried to pay but they insisted it was free. I wish they were located in my hometown; so rare to find honest, trustworthy mechanics, especially in a bigger city.

$45 to patch a tire? Born and raised in Middleton, and enjoy supporting local. Never again with this place. Could've went to Jim's BP down the road or anywhere else and had it fixed for half that.
