Tom is a real kind guy. Incredibly honest. Most trustworthy shop ive ever been to. Only place I take my car in madison for 6 years now

A friend recommended Wright's Auto when my daughter needed some work done on her VW. Am I ever glad I took his advice! The repairs were made promptly and at a very reasonable price. Thank you to Tom and your staff for excellent service.

Had my Mercedes Benz GLK350 towed to the shop after speaking with Tom, who was able and willing to work on a European car (Unlike most others), on very short notice and with a lot full of other vehicles. Took care of the issues, test drove the car and kept me in the loop throughout the process, even after hours. Tom is professional, generous, polite and dedicated. He goes above and beyond to take care of his customers and has earned my business for as long as he's open to it.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Tom is the sweetest, most obligingly helpful mechanic in town. We were desperate to have our car checked out because everyone in town is swamped. He agreed to take it for a drive and check it out. He wasn t able to fix it immediately, but he at least was able to schedule in the next week. He and his team work long hours and seem to do a great job, judging by the wall of effusive hand-written letters of testimony.

One of the only trust-worthy mechanics I would take my car to. They are busy and I think the secret is out about them, this is the place to take your car.

Tom was recommended to me by at least a half dozen local garages and dealerships awhile back and have used Wright for several major and minor repairs since. Every repair has stood solid and remains reliable and problem free. Tom and the staff go well out of their way everytime, from staying late or expediting repairs, a loaner car when needed and honest prices. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my vehicle service. Thanks Tom I really appreciate it, you've gotten me and my Edge all across the country on my trips and I never second guess my cars ability or yours!

Took my Jeep in to get an alignment completed after another place installed some parts for me. Tom is arguably one of the nicest, most straight-forward mechanics I've ever met. Gets right to the point on what should or shouldn't be repaired or adjusted. Very knowledgeable and does great work. Rates are super reasonable. I had a great experience with Tom. I was having a problem with my car and he diagnosed and fixed it promptly and at a great price. I would recommend anyone who needs service to visit the shop. I will be bringing all my business here in the future.

They are worth the effort to get here. They did me a discount and put in a part I needed for free. That don t happen everywhere. That said I was missing a hubcap, pcv valve was left off, and the seal leaked one year later

Tom is an honest guy, I am very much satisfied with his service. I have been to some other mechanic shop in Madison, but Wright's auto is the best. I already changed remote key, engine starter for my car from them and they didn't even charge me anything for 2nd time engine starter issue after replacing it from their shop couple of months ago.

Wright's Auto is a nice family owned business that provides excellent service. Tom is honest and an overall nice guy, that doesn't upsell you unnecessary repairs and products. All my brakes were failing and I needed them to get repaired as soon as I could due to my employment. I've been to many mechanics in the Madison area and Chicagoland area. Wright's Auto Services is THE BEST place I found. This is a family business first and foremost - Tom being the owner of the shop. Lots of mechanics I went to before I found to be deceptive and dishonest in their pricing and services. Tom was honest with me from the start. He told me what needed to be done and gave me fair prices for the repair costs. Not only that, Tom also was very understanding and did his best to help me as fast as he could. If you're looking for a mechanic in the area, Wright's Auto Services is the place to go. I would not even hesitate once in recommending this mechanic to anyone I know. They charged me for a new fuel system didn't replace the parts, and took parts off my car $700 and they refused to refund me! Lawsuit in progress! CHECK YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND TELL THE TO PUT THE OLD PARTS IN YOUR CAR

I've lived in Madison for 3 years and I'm so sad it took me this long to find Wright's Auto Service. I used to go to a shop that was closer to my work so I could drop the car off and still be able to walk to work but after going to Wright's I can honestly say I would go far far far out of my way to have them work on my car.They are a true gem in Madison. They are as honest and as trustworthy of an auto service as you will find anywhere in the world. Tom the owner is extremely kind as is his daughter who works there as well.My old shop told me I needed 4 new brake pads, all new rotors, and new calipers (on a 7 year old car) and quoted me a price of $1,300+. I took the car to Wrights and it turns out I only needed the front brake pads done and they were able to do it for less than a quarter of that price. They also texted me pictures of the worn out brake pads so I could see them before having any work done, which I really appreciated. I am so much more at peace having found Wrights Auto Service and I can't imagine ever taking a car somewhere else.Thanks so much!!!Service: Brakes

Probably the best mechanic I've worked with. Came with 2 issues, the first was fixed quickly and for a good price, the second they didn't think was necessary and wanted to take a look at again in a month - after a month the issue had resolved itself and didn't need the fix! Explained everything well, took pictures to show what they were talking about. Great place!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Waiting on a repair 100 miles north of Madison while visiting family I thought about Tom and Wright Auto. Twenty years ago he kept my late model car, that I used to deliver newspapers, going with amazing service! The time to deliver any service was never less than on the lower end of what I thought possible. Now all these years later, and eight mechanics across several states, Wright's rates the highest. Glad that the business is going forward with another generation. A true gem in Madison!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have been going to Wright's for many years and have brought several cars in for repairs over the years. Tom is wonderful, very kind, good at explaining car repairs to people who don't know much about cars, and is very trustworthy and honest. Once he refused to take my money to repair my car and told me I'd be better off saving my money to buy a newer car that would be more reliable. On several occasions he has shown me the broken part he replaced on my car, which I think is good for transparency and building trust. They can get busy sometimes and it can be tough to get through over the phone, but it is worth the effort and time. They do good work for a reasonable price and will not recommend unnecessary repairs.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery, Oil change

Needed my windshield wiper transmission fixed and once the owner found out that I needed my car to get to work the next day when it was 100% going to rain he got it done by the end of the day. Got it done quickly as possible on words cannot express how thankful I am for that. The best customer service!!! They're always upfront, honest, kind with answering questions about pricing and communication on timing with everything. Even have loaner cars at times, just depends on the timing.

Tom and co. are great! I got my car generally inspected twice and both times the pricing was fair and they gave me a heads up on problems in the future. Three other times, despite being slammed with work, Tom saw me unplanned/without an appointment due to odd sounds in my car, took it out for a spin and came back with some ideas of what was happening and whether it was worth more inspection or work. He didn't charge for these because he didn't do any work, but after the third time I made him take some money. They're usually booking out a week in advance so call ahead.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Best repair shop experience I have had in years. I had a a large vehicle with a lot of rust on it. The first place I brought it didn't want to even attempt to work on it. Tom and his team jumped to the challenge. Great communication throughout the process and got me back on the road in a timely process and at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good mechanic in the Madison area.

We love, love, LOVE Tom and his team at Wright's Auto. We recommend him to everyone, and we have been taking our vehicles to him for 10 years +. The mechanics are wonderful, the lot is always full and they are so reasonably priced, so fair and so honest. We always ask "what if we don't do this now, or ever?" And they are always so accommodating to our balance between cost and reliable service. We have had a 2001 VW Passat, a 2004 Toyota Sienna and a 2010 Toyota Sienna serviced here. Excellent service, good turn around time, good cost and quality work.

Wright s is not only very fairly priced, and a family-run business, but I always trust them 100% when they tell me something needs fixed! When they could have easily charged us for things we took our car in for, they have encouraged us to wait on getting some things fixed because the part had plenty of time left on it. It s a good and honest business and when we can help it, we don t go anywhere else!!

Was having a small problem with my break, visited a nearby repair place Genin s Autocare and got an estimates of $1200 for fixing the issue. Genin s wanted me to replace my whole front break system. Was quite surprised as mine is a low mileage car. A friend previously suggested Tom. I checked my phonebook and found Tom s number. I then called him and explained my car s problem. Tom asked me if I could take my car for him to have a test drive. I immediately went to his place. After having a test run, he explained to me what maybe going on. You cannot believe that Tom actually fixed my car for less than $200 including his labor cost! And that excludes a ride his daughter kindly offered me on my way back home. It was such a relief! As a grad student, I couldn t thank Tom more for saving me from being robbed by his fellow (crooked) mechanics. Thank you Tom for being humble, humane and very kind. No one asked me to write this gentleman a review, but I thought it would be unfair for me not to thank him and let others know that good business still exists.

We've been taking our vehicles to Wright's for about 13 years. Tom and his mechanics are top notch. On one occasion I had a problem return that they had previously fixed. They replaced the part under warranty and didn't even charge labor. That's the kind of customer service I've come to expect and receive at Wright's. It also doesn't hurt that he's typically 1/2 - 2/3 the price of the dealership. Congrats on your many years of running such a successful business!

I've tried shops all around Madison over the years, and this is hands down the best. As others have said on here, they won't sell you things you don't need.
