I read the stellar reviews on this place and checked it out for myself.James helped me today - squeezed me in even though he was down a mechanic!He was professional and friendly and I was impressed with how spacious and clean the shop was.I came in today for a second opinion - my dealer found a few things that seemed a bit strange to me. James looked the car over and showed me the areas of concern highlighted by the dealer. He was patient and helped me make an informed decision. His approach really fostered my trust.They also have a very cute and friendly dog there to keep you entertained along with a waiting area and TV.All this to say - I'm so grateful to have found this shop and for James' help, and will definitely be coming back !

These guys are amazing! This is my second vehicle > 200k miles I ve brought to them, and they are literally working miracles to keep it going on the road until I have the financial means to trade up. Thanks, Westside! I ve trusted you for eight years and counting.

Had a front left wheel bearing replaced here last week since I don t have time to do it myself. A metal collision noise start happening on the front left wheel whenever I hit a slight bump on the road. I took off the wheel and found out that the caliper is not tightened even the slightest, and I could literally pull the screw out by hand without unscrewing it. I understand that this is an honest mistake that could happen to anyone and the wheel bearing job is done without any issue, but this could lead to some serious accident if the customer has no mechanical knowledge and does not know something is wrong. The caliper could fall off and stuck onto the wheel while cruising at 70 mph on the highway. I hope you guys could be more careful next time, this is a bit reckless.

I have gone to Westside Service Center for a long time. Several cars over the years. I trust them and they have done a fine job. They know me and it has been great.

They gave us a very fair quote but in a very old car we decided it was time to donate it. They were so gracious in letting us keep the car in the lot until we found an organization to tow it away. Amazing customer service!!

Fantastic service! I was referred here by a family member and then decided to read reviews about their business and I was impressed. They stand behind all of their work and explain in detail but yet easy to understand about what they see as the problem and how to fix it. AND if you like dogs, they have a sweet one (Chili Fritos) to greet you if you d like.Service: Air conditioning

Took my car in for a tire realignment and felt it was a 10/10 experience. The guys in the shop were all nice, professional, laidback, and friendly. Their dog chili frito provided some unexpected entertainment with his showdog tricks. Their price was as quoted over email and beat other quotes that I gathered prior to choosing them. And, they did the job in a timely and efficient fashion... And they had good music while I waited.

James is an exceptionally friendly and helpful mechanic. Each time I come here for an issue with my old Prius, he explains his findings clearly and, when possible, gives me several options for moving forward. I very much trust Westside Service Center to identify the problem with my car and charge me fairly.

Took my car to the dealership and they quoted me over $1,000 to replace front and back brakes as well as transmission flush. The team as Westside did my rear brakes for $100 less than quoted at the dealership and assured me that I did not need the front brakes replaced yet nor transmission flushing was needed. They were detailed and transparent. Felt like I was in good hands. I will go back to them for any future car needs.Service: Brakes

I love how honest they are! As a female I have been taken advantage of when it come to getting work on my car but here I have never had to worry about this. Their prices are reasonable and honest. The guys are so nice and they explain everything to me. It super convenient to where I live and that I can drop my car off at night. It s safe and secure with the night drop box. I love this place. Not only do they do great work, but they're very aware of people's budgets and charge very fair prices. I have been a loyal customer for going on 20 years, and they keep proving why! Also, sometimes the shop dog stops by to say hi!

I took my 2007 Honda CRV in to have alignment and tire rotation done. I was quoted around $200, and was pleasantly surprised when my final bill was less than $100 because the front tires did not need to be realigned. Thanks for the honesty!Update: I continue to use Westside Service Center because they are honest and reliable.Second update: They are still great.Third update: they have also now serviced my 2016 Subaru Legacy. I went in because it felt like the tires were locking up, and they ended up only needing to remove ice.

Great place fast and they showed me all old parts and made me feel so confident they did the job right and everything was clean and they have an awsome dog that greets you when you come in so bring him a toy or treat!! Seriously you guys were very professional shop was clean!! Everyone was cool as hell! I brought my 2007 Volvo XC70 here solely based on the reviews. My car had quite a few issues that I have been putting off for quite some time. James was very knowledgeable and gave me a few different quotes to address my issues. After going through and picking the most important fixes, I was able to stay in my budget. My car was fixed promptly and RUNS GREAT! Prices were good and I feel like I got honest answers to my different issues. I will be back for sure!

I took my van in because I was pretty sure after 70k miles my brakes needed to be replaced. Turns out they were just fine and these guys told me so. Only cost me $35 for their time. Westside Service Center has helped me multiple times. I've worked with James who is a great communicator and resource.This auto shop has proved to me that below-market pricing and top-class workmanship earns a loyal clientele.If a repair is discovered that doesn't fit in WSC's wheelhouse, other mechanics would usually just go for it and bill accordingly. Instead, James becomes resourceful; he recommends an expert who has the best equipment and skill to get the job done fast. Referring a specialist, who does expert work, while still being mindful of people's budgets, is priceless.Here is the process that works for me:1. I'll set an appt, with detailed notes, to drop the car off in the morning2. When I arrive, James confirms my notes for the intended work to be done.3. Leave the keys with him, grab an Uber or Lyft, and resume my day, knowing that the car is in excellent handsIf anything outside of my work notes crops up, James calls.Their shop gets busy, so book your appt online as soon as you think of it.If you're reading this far and know of any great auto mechanics looking for a new shop, this could be their new place.WSC's current hours are from 7:00am - 3:00pm, and I'd love for those hours to get extended with a little extra quality help.Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Had an amazing experience this morning with the folks here! They were kind, courteous, and very honest. It can be intimidating as a young woman walking into a new mechanic and knowing I could be taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge about cars. I never felt that way here, and they fixed the issues I was having for a very reasonable price in only an hour and a half. Not to mention their adorable shop dog Chili Fritos!!! Yes, his name is Chili Fritos, and he kept me great company! Highly highly recommend to anyone in Madison for your car care needs.

Visited Westside for a corroded battery issue. They initially quoted me $600 which I was content with and then LOWERED the quote to $450 a few days later. When does that ever happen at a mechanic? Needed to check the charging/electrical system on my 2000 Avalon. Did a great job determining that my alternator was bad and I had a bad connector for one of the battery terminals. All repaired and replaced and car is running fine. Love this shop! Quick service, friendly mechanics, easily at least 15% cheaper than other shops I've gotten quotes from and I've never had an issue with the work. Also one of the only shops I've been to that doesn't try to convince you you need triple the amount of oil changes that your vehicle manufacturer recommends on a newer vehicle. Great place!

James and Aaron are so incredibly friendly and explain things in such a nice way for you to understand. They are highly professional in their work and their customer service. They are wonderful to work with. They give very fair pricing and only recommend you to do anything that is actually necessary unless you specifically want more done. I can't say enough great things. I am so happy with Westside Service Center.

As always, quick and excellent service. Over 33 years relationship of good advice, excellent workmanship and friendly service. My RAV4 is now at 315,000 miles and counting and still taking me places. I have very rarely experienced service this good. I dropped my car off overnight on Monday, James called me later that day with a diagnosis, pricing, and clear explanation of the issues I was having. I added another request at that point, he accommodated my request, and STILL the repair was done the next morning.I should also note that this same repair on the other side of the car (done at the dealership a year ago) cost us $1100. At Westside it was $550 - with better communication, clarity, and speed.I have definitely found my new mechanic, and will be recommending Westside in the future!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Battery

I've used them once and I would go back. They were prompt and professional with communication, they fixed the issue with my car and stuck to their originally quoted price.I interacted directly with a mechanic who worked on my car, and he had no problem answering questions about what they found and the work they needed to do. I like this much better than talking with a service adviser who didn't look at the car himself.They wiped down the parts of the car that got worked on. Their shop is clean and organized, which tells me they probably pay attention to details. Zero complaints from me.
