Very personable and kind staff that really care about their customers. They set clear expectations on fixing an older car. Fair pricing. Great communication on work completion. Can't ask for more from an auto repair shop. Definitely recommend.

Been going to Hansen's since 2012 and they have been nothing but fantastic. Always quality service, no matter the problem. And they have been able to find and fix multiple problems that I've reported to other shops that then could fix said problem. Highly recommend!

Our plow truck had a gas leak and the steering wasn't safe anymore I took it in for service and they got the dodge truck fixed up nice with new fuel lines fuel pump and a new pitman arm thanks guy's

Really great shop. Sent my college age daughter there with car problems. They diagnosed/fixed/repaired and charged her less than intial quote. They were very kind and respectful to my daughter. Didn't try to upsell other services. Will definitely be back to work with Hansen's!

I ve never had such a great experience at a mechanic! I went in with a small problem with my windshield wiper- I was met with amazing customer service and would recommend Hansen s to anybody. Tyler was extremely helpful and made a quick fix. I m glad to have found a good, honest mechanic in Madison!

We couldn t have had a better experience! The issues and possible issues were explained upfront so I knew what to expect, their communication was prompt and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They are also one of the most knowledgeable shops I ve ever been to. I wouldn t want to go anywhere else in Madison for service work.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Amazing ma & pa auto shop. I went in to get my car diagnosed. Unfortunately, it was the strut mounts that needed replacing. I was originally told I would be required to get a wheel alignment too. However, at checkout they were honest and said I didn t need one. Saved me a lot of money. They also replaced my brake light free of charge. I just noticed that when I went to go fix it myself. On top of that they took my broken windshield wiper arm off so it wouldn t damage the motor more. Also got an oil change and they filled my tires too. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Tyler especially was kind, helpful, and always in communication. Thank you for helping a woman out! My car had been having some issues and when I finally called for a mechanic, I had so many issues until I called Hansen's. They didn't talk down to me like I didn't know anything, and they charged fair prices for everything! They had me in and out quickly, were very communicative, and absolutely some of the sweetest people I've talked to. Cannot recommend them enough!

Skilled professionals, and fantastic customer service. I brought my vehicle to Hansen's to diagnose a check engine light. Tyler gave me a call after the problem was diagnosed, and walked me through exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. He answered every question that I had clearly and concisely, and in a way that was easy to understand for someone who does not have a background in engine repairs. When I came to pick up my vehicle, Tyler showed me the part that was replaced, and described in further detail how the problem was diagnosed. He even reminded me that my tabs just expired this month. That was great, because I forgot to renew those damn things! If you are looking for auto repairs in the Madison area, go to Hansen's, you will not be disappointed.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Great experience- Hansen was highly recommended by a fellow car mechanic. The customer service was beyond friendly and helpful (thanks Tyler). The amount of time they spent on our vehicle issue and working with us for over a week to pinpoint that odd issue - thank you guys so much!! The Mazda is like new again. We will NEVER go back to a dealership shop ever again - we are now Hansen customers for life!

Hansen s is the best! They always offer great customer service (s/o to Tyler!) and are the best auto shop I ve been to in Madison. They even drove me to work on the morning I brought my car in. They re honest about your vehicle and their prices are affordable. I appreciate all the work they ve done and I ll go there as long as I m in Madison.

The owner here regularly gives me honest quotes and sometimes even surprises me with a bill that's lower than the quote. I _always_ feel respected here. (I'm a queer, female-presenting person of color obviously from elsewhere, and I have had problems with disrespect at other male-owned auto shops in WI.) Finally, the explanations of what's going on with my vehicle are always crystal-clear, without any kind of mystification. I ask a lot of questions, and the employees here are always patient with me.I feel really lucky to have found a new place to get work done on my aging car.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Transmission repair, Oil change

Absolutely fantastic experience!! I needed my headlight bulb replaced and was quoted over $200 at a nearby mechanic where as Hansen s quoted me for less than half that price. Hansen s is fair, honest, and does good quality work, not to mention that the people who work here are very friendly! I will be recommending Hansen s to anyone who is in need of a good mechanic!!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Electrical

John & Tyler got my teenage daughter's car in right away to replace 2 brake lights. They fit us in when they were very busy and we so appreciated that. Good service, good price, and honest. I highly recommend Hansen's!

I have been to Hansen's twice now and have had great experiences both times. They are friendly and knowledgeable, worked quickly, and charged a fair price. I have been going to Hansen's for about 8 years. I can not say enough great things about them. They do a wonderful job of keeping my car running well. In addition to doing great mechanical work, they are incredibly kind, friendly, and honest! They never do work that does not have to be done, but always make me aware of things that need to be watched.Once I had to take my vehicle to the dealer for a part recall. The dealer told me that I needed $2,000 in work done. I called Hansen's to talk about it. They talked me through diagnosing things like checking the fluid color, etc. and then told me that they did not think I needed the expensive repairs the dealer wanted to make. When I took my car in for an oil change, they checked what the dealer said needed to be done and I think it ended up costing me about $100 to fix one thing.I previously had a very old car that they expertly took care of, but at the same time would always tell me if something was worth doing or not.I rarely speak directly with the mechanics, but whenever I do, they are sweet, polite and patient.Since I often wait in the office for my car to be worked on, I get to see how they are kind, friendly and fair with everyone who walks through the door.I never thought I would say this about an auto repair office, but I feel a lot of love and appreciation for all of them. Thanks to John, Susie and the rest of the team for running such a wonderful auto repair service center.

I brought my 1999 Subaru 2.5RS in for an alignment after having done a great deal of suspension work. John is the man! He communicated with me on any quirks he saw, got everything within factory specifications and the vehicle steers and corners like a dream. The prices are extremely reasonable for the service you receive. This is NOT a toe-and-go operation. They are thorough, honest, and highly experienced. Take your vehicles here for alignments.John even said, "Bring the vehicle in after about 3,000 miles. We'll see how things settle." Granted there will be an additional charge, but the suggestion, and also the offer to install rear camber bolts to get things even more in line was greatly appreciated.Awesome work, Hansen's. You will have my continued business.

Very friendly and helpful, but the most expensive oil change I ve had done. Though nice that they changed a bulb, they didn t ask.EDIT (upgraded stars): We had another occasion to use Hansen's and they were very helpful and responsive to our needs. We have one car and needed some quick service to keep our family in transportation.

Hansen's auto has always been excellent to deal with. They've been honest with me on issues and cost, and have always finished the work on time. Their per hour labor cost is also very low when compared to dealerships and other shops. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Recently I bought a 13yr old truck with worn steering and suspension parts that didn't seem that bad. John personally showed me what parts and how they were bad. Hanson's repaired my front end in a timely matter at a fair price. It rides nice, real nice. I should have talked to John before I bought truck, I would have paid less for it.A week later my truck stalled with a dead battery 1 mile from johns shop. He jump started the truck and brought me a new battery which I put in when I got home.Thanks John and everyone at Hanson's Auto for years of friendly, honest and reliable service and repairs. You all deserve a slice of raisin pie this holiday season

Hansen's is a great auto repair shop. John comes across as a respectable honorable guy. They worked patiently with me as I took days to get the money to get them started on my car. They worked quickly and efficiently on repairing my car. Tyler is also a nice guy.

I would recommend Hansen's Auto to anyone! I needed several things fixed on my car recently and the service Hansen's provided was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, professional, transparent and honest. I spent quite a bit of time in the shop over the course of a few days and every interaction I saw between Hansen's staff members and customers exemplified professionalism and friendliness. It's clear that Hansen's has developed many genuine, longstanding relationships with its customers, which is quite rare to find these days. Madison is fortunate to have such an outstanding local business!

I've been taking my cars to Hansen's for several years now, and have been impressed with the service and the conscientiousness of the staff. I have always been fairly treated and my car has been fixed when promised. The ride to work is an extra perk, too, that just makes it easier to schedule repairs.

This auto shop went above and beyond to make sure my car left in the best condition possible. When a specific tool was needed for my vehicle, they went to a nearby shop to procure it for me at no extra cost. They test drove my car multiple times and showed a sincere interest in correcting my problem. On top of it all, they had top-tier customer service--from the front desk, to the mechanics, to the head of the shop!Services: Tires, Wheel alignment
