Service through Clausens Automotive was excellent. They kept me informed every step of the way; from towing to estimate, diagnostics, pickup. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a safe vehicle to drive home. They are skilled in car repair as well as customer interactions and are up to date with computer technology. I have nothing but good things to say about the service I received from Clausens.

I had an error message showing on my Volt. The Chevy dealer charged me $2k to do a bunch of (ultimately) unnecessary stuff and told me a needed a new battery (with the go away price of $38,000).I took it to Clausen's since they had a nice section on the website about working on hybrids.Everyone there was SUPER nice (even returning my late afternoon call after hours to apologize and tell me it was a busy day, but they got my message and would call me first thing in the morning). I get the sense they really know what they're doing, and they were able to get my car fixed for a very reasonable price.They've definitely earned my business!

I can t say enough how wonderful Cameron and the team at Clausen automotive were to work with. After my car broke down in the middle of I90 at 9pm on a Sunday, I had to quickly choose somewhere to tow it to and unfortunately wasn t close to home so towing would have been crazy expensive. When the tow company recommended this shop, I immediately thought it was a good sign, as Clausen is also my last name. Aside from the great choice in naming, they did a fantastic job. Daily these guys kept me in the loop with updates and were so helpful in diagnosing the issue with my car and getting it fixed as quickly as possible, despite that they are in their busy season. They are friendly, respectful and do great work. I only wish they were closer to home so we could get all of our vehicle service needs done with them.

We started taking vehicles to Clausen around 2003. My wife took her Stratus in, and Cameron impressed her with his honest and respectful demeanor. They do great work, they are straightforward about what s necessary and what can wait, and they make sure you understand what they are talking about. After completing diagnostics, they will text you pics with the estimate, and are willing to talk through everything until all your questions are answered. Claussen Automotive are excellent mechanics. If you're concerned about trustworthy mechanics, then these are your guys. I especially like the link to the review of items they checked, with a Green, Yellow, Red light for what is ok, what requires monitoring, and what needs immediate attention. They don't hard sell or upsell. They don't need to. I can't imaging going anywhere else.

Clausen Automotive is honest and goes the extra mile. I had the dreaded HV battery light come on on my Prius C. I was recommended to Clausen because they do a lot of work with hybrids. All initial indications pointed to needing a new battery but they kept looking and eventually diagnosed a potential issue with the oil level. Low and behold that small fix got me back on the road! I am certain that other mechanics would not have figured out and still others would just have pushed a new battery instal. Thank you!

Clausen Automotive did a great job on my 2014 Ford Edge had a complete brake job done in a timely manner. Very pleased with the work that was done! Highly recommend them for your automotive needs! Five

Lack of communication, was lied to about time and day to pick up a car. Was told i would recieve a call if there were any issues. Stopped in minutes after being told they were working on it, literally no one working on it. Looked around the shop, not a single person in any sort of uniform (t shirts/standing around doing nothing) no certifications of any kind displayed (ase, icar, etc.). Then to top it off I meet the snap on dealer for their area immediately after leaving and he tells me he has not been to this shop in many years because they waste time shopping/asking for estimates and buy their tools/equipment on amazon/ebay. Seriously sad situation.

I've had a great deal of work done, with the last being $300 to clear check engine lights and an oil change. While the work done was complete, I drove away and the next morning the check engine light came on again. It would be nice to not only clear the check engine issues, but to also solve them.Service: BatteryService: Battery

Impressive shop. This is a place that cares about their customers and cares about doing the job right. Great communication, helpful, timely. Glad I found a place I can trust! Added perk, surprisingly tech focused on the customer service side. The app they use is great, creates a costumer profile with vehicle service history, they send text updates and pictures when necessary. Scheduling is easy via text, app, or phone. Replaced the inverter water pump on my 2007 hybrid Toyota Highlander and I was totally impressed. They diagnosed quickly, explained thoroughly and had the the car all ready to receive the part when it got in. It was ready an hour later. I have great respect for the work they do at Clausen. When I switched over my records from having my car serviced at the dealership, they went through every page and made sure that the history was complete and thorough and there would be a seamless transition. They usually are able to accommodate my schedule and they have often given me a ride or a loaner car if they are going to take more than a brief amount of time to work. When I have waited in the lobby, they were quick and efficient. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. They have helped me with many issues on different cars over the years.Service: Auto maintenance

These guys are amazing!! I work in WI but live in IL. My car started acting funny the night of a snowstorm at work. These guys got me in ASAP after I left work in the morning. They had my car done by early afternoon. Cost wasn't bad considering the work that needed to be done. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the Madison area!!

I chose this shop because I have a hybrid & they have a specialization in hybrids. Got in within a couple of days for transmission fluid change. Received a very nice multi-point inspection report via text message with pictures. Friendly employees. Everything went smoothly. I have taken two different cars to Clausen Automotive multiple times, for various reasons, and every time I go there I am always amazed with the quality of service I receive. I always receive a full breakdown of items needing repair, but I never feel pressured to fix things I don't want fixed at that time. Their pricing is fair, their estimates are accurate, and they are regularly my go-to repair shop. I had front struts put on by Clausen on my 2013 Toyota Sienna. The service was very courteous, I was given a ride home and pick up by the mechanic. My vehicle feels good after months of driving. Service fixed the problem. Great experience. Thank you.

Cameron and Clausen Automotive off Stoughton Road scammed me and I believe damage my vehicle on purpose.I have a hybrid car that needed a software update and coolant sensor changed. Clausen off Stoughton Rd was the only place I could find that dealt with hybrids locally but three out of the five yelp reviews were customers stating they were ripped off there. Because I only needed a software update and a coolant sensor changed I figured it d be straightforward and relatively low risk of getting scammed. They ended up lying about the scope of work needed and charged me $750 to change a coolant sensor. I provided evidence proving they were lying to me and they instantly change their story on why all the extra work was done and refunded me a few hundred bucks. So now I ve paid around $500 for a coolant sensor to be changed. Still ripped off as this work is generally around $150 at your local, trustworthy shop. A few months later I get the same coolant sensor error. I call them up and ask if the sensor is under warranty. They can t tell me but do ask that I bring it in. To be clear, I was gonna have them replace the sensor if needed - if under warranty - and if anything more was needed I was gonna take it elsewhere. They call me a day later and tell me I have a radiator leak and want $2000 to repair. I m confused as I park in my garage 100% of the time and have never seen a leak. The next day I am thinking about it when it occurs to me that I may NOW have a radiator leak after taking it there. I literally rush to my garage and look under my car. Wouldn t you know, I now have a huge pile of radiator fluid on my garage floor. And not a small leak, it is everywhere. Ripping off and scamming your customers is a dirt bag move. These people don t care about you or your vehicle. They should be out of business.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Easy to line up an appointment. Love their detailed inspection and online report which gave new insights and helps me budget for preventative maintenance while simply addressing the immediate exhaust issue at hand. Had my ford explorer towed in after hours, they had a really easy to understand form by the drop box for keys, filled that out and the following morning they had called with a cost on repair. After a brief search of the repair the price was at or below surrounding shops. They had it fixed and ready to roll by lunch.Now the only down side was there was this random fuse box cover in my cup holder. The plastic tabs were busted off. When I asked the counter guy he said it was found on the floor. I didn t really watch the tow truck guy that close, and it may have just broke and fell on the floor from wear and tear, or the mechanic broke it, I truly have no idea. So the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is they didn t just make this right (which I understand may not have been there fault) it s not an expensive piece to replace, but it s certainly easier for someone trained to do itServices: Brakes, Auto maintenance

I have been a customer of Clasens for over 25 years. My mother in-law was a customer for many years before. They have been in my opinion one of the finest automotive repair companies I have ever encountered. The service team has been courteous and friendly, above and beyond my expectations. I found Clausen Automotive and called about my brakes. They were extremely helpful and easy to talk with! They did the job quickly and even inspected the car for other problems! I really appreciated that as I know nothing about taking car of cars. I was very pleased with their prompt attention and workmanship they did on my car!
