What can you say about a ferry boat that brings you across from land to an island and doesn't sink. It was great. And they had very nice looking women working there.

Have to say this experience has been amazing. From the captain greeting us, to the smooth transition from land to Oakland and then back had been perfect. Plenty of seating and everyone is so friendly. Things move continuously throughout the day and every 30 min it comes back.

Easy, if expensive, transport in Bayfield, WI to the lovely Madeline Island. Used many times over the years, never any issues.

Service on the ferry is great! Easy on and easy off. Just be sure to arrive about 20 minutes beforehand, maybe a bit more during high traffic times. It's fun to get out of your car and sit up top if the weather permits. No bathroom on the ship so plan accordingly. The trip is about 20 minutes.

Made a trek far north to the Madeline island ferry on snowmobiles. Plan was to take the ferry to Madeline Island. It was a very long ride and we missed the ferry by a bit. Captain was still extremely helpful on area recommendations along with current ice conditions. Even though his day was over he took the time to share some information. I will be making another trip, just plan on staying closer or leaving earlier

We had so much fun. It was a bit $$ for the vehicle and two of us, but in the end, it was so worth it. We got to explore Big Bay State Park and experience boating in a slushy. It's an experience I won't soon forget. Staff super friendly and engaging.

Totally loved the ferry experience where our car went along with us on the boat. This made our life easier to roam around on the Madeline Island which was quite big. The crew was super friendly. We had a great time Canoeing at the big bay state park.

Exhilarating experience. We had no wait as we went to Madeline Island in early evening and came back to mainland mid-morning. Van cost $30. $17 per adult. $8 per child to go on ferry.

Organized, clean and on time! Nice staff at ticket booth! Our only wish is that we would have been warned we'd be stuck in our car for the whole ride back. I was already sunburned and fried on the way home. Still, a great service! Beautiful views and access to Madeline Island.

Awesome experience, and THE way to the island.Staff is friendly and the trip is the perfect length. In the summer the schedule is often enough you don't really have to worry about making the trip.I had a camper in tow and on the way out there were super helpful and made sure we had a good spot that allowed easy on/off access.

Great ferry ride. The price was very fair. We took our truck over to Madeline Island for the day and had a blast.

Great staff. They were on time, every time. My ticket ripped while on the island, but the staff was understanding and helpful and replaced it. It was great to get out of the vehicle and enjoy the ride from the top deck.

A smooth process. Drive up and staff meet you at your car to take payment or view proof of payment if done in advance. Pull up in the line they say and wait for the ferry. Staff is friendly but no-nonsense. Packed like sardines on the ferry so not sure how/why people get out of their vehicles. Cyclists and people on foot visiting Madeline Island also on ferry.

Go do this! In nice weather its GRAND and in winter YOU CAN WALK IT. Beautiful island. Check out the crazy car and the beaches are PRISTINE.

Pretty awesome staff and frequent ferries. Only downfall is it can get pretty busy if you don't plan ahead, might end up waiting a little bit to board.

The ferry line for Madeline island was very fast and the crew was very polite. The ride is about 20 min. Prices are what you expect for a ferry and increase with vehicle length and amount of "stuff" your bringing with. I myself just rode it and walked around on foot on the island. Price to ride for me was 16$ round trip. Not that you have a whole lot of other choices to get there but at least you don't feel gouged to go.

Only my second experience with being on a ferry to an island. The other is in Washington Island in door county. Runs great and leaves within a few minutes of the scheduled times. It's a great view while you're on the boat.

Great service and a fun way to get to Madeline Island with your car, bike, or on foot. You can rent bikes of mopeds on Madeline Island or bring one with you. Be aware that you pay a fee per person and also pay a fee for any car or vehicle you bring over.

You are not able to make reservations for the ferry. There is a small ticket booth in the harbor parking lot where the attendants are very helpful. We walked on board, however the boat was at capacity for vehicles when we left the dock. The people parking the cars on the ferry were professional and efficient. The fact that this ferry loaded down with vehicles ranging from motorcycles to delivery trucks is a feat of science I may never understand! We sat on the outside deck, but had the option to sit inside as well. It is a short 20 minute ride and you can see the other islands off in the distance as you cruise.

Great service to Madeline Island! It was really easy to purchase ferry tickets while waiting in line on the dock. We didn't wait long, and the ride only lasted about 15-20 minutes. We went during the pandemic and felt very safe. All of the workers wore masks, and we just stayed in our cars to keep distant from other ferry riders.

I can't say enough about their service. First they all are great and service orientated. Secondly, they helped me get my car started after it stalled on the island. Third, as if the trip didn't have enough going on, I lost my trip. Luckily Ethan and Kim had me taken care for all my faults. All they had to do was tow me to and from. Nice job guys.

It is very expensive. $29 per smaller vehicle shorter than 19 ft. round trip plus $19 per adult person

First experience with a ferry of any kind. Was pleasantly surprised that taking your car over to Madeline Island was an option. This way you can explore the whole island without being confined to just the tourist area. The captain on the return trip did an excellent job. We didn t even realize we had docked. It was so smooth.

Great birthday weekend! Bayfield was a blast. After a cold ferry ride over to Madeline island. We saw Tom's burned down bar and other tourist sights. Loved it!!!!!! A must do!!

The only way to get vehicles to and from the big island. A great service but a bit pricey. 8/10 recommended
