Reliable, Knowledgeable and FairSDR has been a reliable source of auto repair that I trust to address my needs at a fair price. My ancient Toyota van (20+ years) is my bum around utility vehicle: move things haul to the dump back up primary vehicle. SDR has kept it going for me without any hesitation about its age. A sudden brake pedal to the floor resulted in the installation of custom bent rear brake lines that work like a charm. Good to go and I m happy.

Good work at very fair prices. Most importantly, theyre honest. Took my GTI in for front brakes and a transmission flush. They let me know the fluid looked basically brand new and must have been changed right before I bought the car. They could have easily just charged me and not even done the work. They were honest about it and I really respect that. I will be back if I ever need anything else

Only out for you re money don t recommend going here, had my car taken in for loud knocking in my engine they told me I needed a whole new engine with only saying it s just an internal engine issue nothing els. Went to get a second opinion and found I my oil pan, spark plugs and timing chain needed to be replaced thankfully jiffy lube told us about a dent in out oil pan which made me get a second opinion at a better auto repair just saved me 7k from a money grubby Business very disappointed.

So often you write a review and later your like, I need to change that cause they have changed . NOT THIS TIME!! Awesome professional service at a reasonable rate! You can tell Steve actually cares about what he does and what people think about his work!! I hope we will all continue to bring our vehicles to SDR so he stays around#goodhelpishardtofind!!!!!

The level of professionalism and the amount of care which have been demonstrated with the service provided by the people of SDR has been remarkable. I truest feel the people there are very knowledgeable, the shop is t trashed, everything appears to be very neat and orderly. Would I recommend SDR? The answer is definitely. Their service coupled with the warranty offered through them make it hard to find a better shop.

I spent oodles of money at SDR on my 2014 Honda Odyssey (195K miles) so far this year (as of April 2022) and had a great experience. Jason and Steve spoke to meet in detail about the diagnostics performed and recommendations moving forward. They were thorough, prompt, competitively priced and delivered a great costumer experience updates, dropped me off at work in the area, etc. They even saved me money by having all of the work done in one day versus scheduling for two separate time periods. They just did some work on my brothers 59 Rambler, and they got running great again. Done plenty of work on my vehicles as well. 5 Stars as always. Excellent service by skilled staff. They are good at communicating the limits of the service they can provide. And in the rare occasion they do make a mistake, they go above and beyond to remedy it. This has become my go-to car mechanic in the Kenosha area.

Beyond great! I had some dashboard issues on my way to work and was able to arrive to work safely. I called around and SDR were so great! She offered for them to check the car out and give me their thoughts. I planned to go in after work. On my way from work to SDR, about 5 miles, my dash did the same thing but quicker. I arrived to the shop and Steve greeted me and came right out to look. It wouldn't start and the had to jump it. Steve and the guys were so quick and efficient to make sure I could get it running and get home (45 miles). It was my alternator and they were able to get a new one, replace it, and test it in just about an hour to make sure I could get home. As a woman, I truly appreciate being treated with respect by auto shops, I've had some negative experiences at other shops and I felt confident that SDR was doing everything they could to help me. I'm so appreciative to SDR and couldn't recommend them more.

I am new to town and was referred to SDR after experiencing transmission issues. I showed up Monday morning and explained the problem. Jason immediately had an idea of what was happening and worked to fit me in despite having a packed schedule. Jason gave a fair diagnoses of the problem, and when he identified that I would need to take it to the dealership, he immediately made recommendations on how to save money and what to do going forward. I had many questions and he was very patient and willing to answer all of them. Jason even printed out exactly what I needed to bring to the dealership so that there would be no miscommunication. I will definitely be going back to SDR and I have already recommended SDR to all of my friends and family in the area!

I went to SDR when my power steering went out. Not only did I need a new pump, but they also informed me that my rear brakes were shot and the front brakes were on their way. They were incredibly professional and up front about the costs, and how long I could safely put off each repairI was hesitant to drop so much money on a car I don't plan on keeping for much longer, but after SDR worked their magic, my car has driven better than it has since I first bought it. I'm incredibly impressed and thrilled that my car drives this well, and will 100% be returning to SDR for any further service I need :)Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

I was impressed with the dedication to customer care and special attention to my vehicle. SDR has proven themselves to be the best shop in Kenosha based on their performance, honesty, prices and customer care. This shop is clean, the staff are friendly and professional, and best of all they took good care of my vehicle in a timely manner and explained everything I needed to know in a way I could actually understand. I've never felt this comfortable trusting someone with my vehicle and knowing that they will do quality work at an affordable price. *Highly Recommended for any repairs or maintenance* Furthermore, I will not be going anywhere else, ever, again. :)

When I met Steve he told me he lives by the Golden rule to treat others as he would want to be treated. Apparently, Steve likes to be treated VERY well with honesty, dependability and the with the utmost respect and care. I wish 10 stars was a possibility and that would still be too low. The service and care at SDR from Steve and his staff is unlike any you find in the current world we live in. I was facing what seemed an impossible situation. My daughter's car was making a horrible metal scraping noise and locking up, turns out needed a new Transfer case. I had taken the car somewhere else and the option was not a good one. I called several places who just don't do what I needed. With the lack of inventory in the used parts world I was looking at a huge expense with parts that were so old it wouldn't be worth the time and money. I didn't know who to trust and which option to choose. I was actually referred to SDR by another shop who couldn't help me. Steve listened to me explain the issues and fears and then went so far above and beyond to help me out, kept in constant contact with me about the options, he spent his own time late at night researching to make sure he was giving me all the possibilities. When it came to making a decision I felt calm and confident that I was making the best choice and that Steve was going to make sure it was done right. It was still going to be a big expense for me but at least I knew I was making the right choice. Steve took the time to educate me about the problem and explain exactly what they were going to do and why. He made sure that I was not going to be without a car, he dropped me off at the car rental place and had the whole job done by the next day. He fixed the tire that caused the problem to make sure it wouldn't happen again and even threw that in at no cost which is not expected! He made me feel like one of his own. This is my shop for life and I will always refer everyone to SDR knowing with confidence that the people I send to him will be taken care of the same way I was because that's just who SDR is. Thank you, Steve and staff for making a very difficult time in my life as easy as possible.

Amazing service. I just recently started going to SDR for my auto repair. Wouldn't suggest getting your work done anywhere else. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable about what they do, and the owner always helps me save a little money when possible. Great people, great service. I will be going back as long as I have a car. Thank you everyone from SDR. You make me feel safe when I'm on the road. It is a tad expensive.

My car was dead with a problem that was impossible to diagnose without spending a lot of money at a stealership. There were also a couple of red herrings that made diagnosis even more difficult. One call to SDR and they had the car towed to their business, diagnosed and per my request, towed back to my home where I repaired it confidently with their diagnosis instead of throwing a bunch of unnecessary parts at it.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I had an intermittent transmission problem that required Steve, the owner of SDR, to drive the truck long enough for it to reoccur. He personally took the time to diagnose the problem, though it took him commuting 30+ miles with all the computers and gizmos connected. Once it was determined that the transmission was on its way out, they had it repaired in no time, though the parts were not readily available. It s my work truck, and Steve a d team did what it took to get me back in operation.I had been to other shops who were both unable to diagnose the issue, and seemed to be in a big hurry to get me out of their hair so they could move on to the quick fixes.I believe it takes an established, owner-operated shop like SDR to provide the level of service I needed. I ve been a customer of SDR for a few years now and I recommend everyone I know to them. They are very good at explaining issues with your vehicles and don t try to Upsell you on parts or services you don t need. They are also very good about honoring warranties on the parts they install on your vehicle.

I was in a road trip for work when my car had major problems and become unsafe to drive. Steve and his staff were amazing taking care of me and my dogs. Helped me find a place to stay for the night and even delivered the car to me once it was complete. On top of that the cost was more than $100 less than the original amount I was quoted. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing auto repairs and maintenance.Service: Tires

SDR is a top notch shop. They have performed numerous repairs for me on my truck and motor home. They are up front with recommendations and costs. The inspect the vehicle for potential future problems and advise. My latest service was for Transmission service and they found a serious issue with the brakes that I was unaware of. They completed all repairs quickly at a very fair price. I highly recommend this shop.

I have been going to SDR for years. Started with needing to fix the transfer case on my '96 Cherokee, and I've been going back for vehicle needs ever since. Steve has always been straightforward and has two obvious priorities: 1st, when your vehicle leaves his shop, it's ready to go and safe. 2nd, saving you money while making sure your vehicle gets the best parts and service. He's honest with you, and will tell you if what your vehicle needs, if anything. I feel I can't say enough for this review, but I won't bore you with the details. He is an honest professional, who leads an honest and professional staff of mechanics- they will go above and beyond to do right by you.

SDR is awesome! I came across SDR when looking for a Auto shop that worked on trans. After my experience, it is easy to see whey they have such a high rating.Great customer service, pricing, and detailed repair work orders. My only regret is not finding them sooner!Thanks Steve, Bobby, and the crew!This is my go-to spot from now on.
