My family has gone to Rhodes for years. They are upfront, honest, and good people. They understand that the community they serve is not made of money and will help you to find the best deal. They won't sugarcoat the bad and they are always willing to answer any question I may have. Always friendly and ready to help.

BUYER BEWARE!!! If I could rate this -5 stars I would. I initially called to get E brakes fixed and they recommended other stuff which I stated I didn't want done, then I was saying alright let me think about it and he hung up and started service after I said alright. They stated that it'll be done by noon as I had a pick up to meet. I was charged 3800 to replace the E-brake, brakes, calipers, and rotors plus the starter. Early morning, I called to confirm things was on schedule and he stated that I could pick up at 3, which I reminded him and he stated that he'll try to make the time, he then told me after I called back around noon that I could come by 1 and pick up. They still weren't finished and we waited until2:30 to leave. They told me that they couldn't finish the ebrake and i have to schedule another appointment and drop it off but charged me for the E brake. The brakes smoked which I assumed were normal but after putting some mileage on them they were still smoking profusely.After 3 days, the truck didn't start as the starter just whirled and didn't crank. I looked under the truck and the screws were very loose. One was already halfway out this yet cost me another missed/late load pick up. They were not willing to admit any wrong doing and blamed my truck which every other mechanic that's worked on my truck never has any issues.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Brakes

I love this place. There a fully serviced auto shop. Friendly, experienced professional quality service. When they say the job will be done it will be done. If they cannot help you they will guide you in the right direction.

In November of 2020 my starter quit on me so, I had my vehicle towed from Waukegan, IL to Rhodes Auto. My vehicle stayed there for about a day and a half until the "new" starter was installed. When I picked my car up (it was close to closing time) I asked for the old starter or the box for the "new" one but they did not have either. Fast forward to NOV 2021, the starter quit on me in Waukegan IL again. Got towed to a shop in Waukegan, Technician confirmed that it was the starter (Gave the failed starter to me pics below) and asked if I purchased the failed starter from a salvage yard. The Technician picked up the remanufactured starter, had it installed and I was back on the road in 2 hours, and the car is still on the road. I don't trust Rhodes Auto repair. I am not sure how so much rust accumulated on the failed starter especially since I keep my vehicle in the garage. You would think that a remanufactured starter with a warranty would have a rust free body. The overall cost was about $350.00, buyer beware!

This repair shop can t do the most basic of repairs correctly. Don t bring your vehicles here. They re a joke of a business.

Needed light headlight bulbs put in. I didn't have an appointment but they worked me in. The price they quoted turned out to be more than what I paid. I appreciated the honesty. Also they have a text club that got me another $10 off. I will be going back to this business. Very friendly and seems honest.

The manager at Rhodes, is just wonderful. He was super informative and very helpful when I was there. He answered all my questions and I will definitely be going back there the next time I need anything done to my truck, or to rent a You Haul.

We rented a UHaul online and there was an error on UHaul s side. Tracy took it upon himself to track down our truck and give us direction. Very helpful and friendly and fixed an issue that wasn t even his, a very nice guy.

WORST PLACE! They had my car for 6 WEEKS to diagnose it and they never kept us updated. We had to constantly call them to check in. Finally when we said we were towing the car somewhere else they came up with something. Literal scammers. Best to take your car somewhere where the people are honest and respectful. You won t find that here.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Excellent customer service. I had an issue with my car battery plugs & the guys were so nice. They came out on Christmas Eve and fixed it even though it was close to them closing for the holiday. I had called so many shops in town and they were the ONLY ones willing to come out!! And they fixed it quick!!Super nice guys and the women who answers the phone was also really nice. I will definitely be going to them from now on for all my car needs!

Wouldn't recommend these guys. Took my car in because it shakes when driving above 50 so I needed new outer tie rods. Initially tried to charge me $341 without informing me there was a cheaper option with cheaper parts. Maybe its because they don't know me and they feel comfortable nickel and diming customers they don't know. There was also a hazardous material fee and a shop supply fee that added extra $10. They never informed me of any this beforehand. Just seems like they do what they can to get as much as possible out of the customer. My car still shakes by the way. I don't think they even drove afterwards to make sure they fixed the problem even though they told me they did. I would go back and complain but I figure I'm just better off going somewhere else. They'll probably just tell me they need to replace something else and charge like $500 more. I'll just take this $272 loss on the chin.

Stopped in today because a couple of my tires were low. Had trouble airing them up myself for some reason, so thought I'd stop by to have someone who knew what they were doing check my tire pressure and air them up. I'm from out of town and had never been to Rhodes before, but they were very friendly, helped me immediately and didn't charge me. I know that airing up my tires is not a big deal, but it meant a lot to me as I was about to leave for a 250 mile road trip. Thanks again!

Request diagnostic. At last oil change everything was as should be. Light came on . Went to oil change place all is well like always. Slid on ice had front end damage repaired won't say by who. Not Rhodes.Shortly after I was driving home and engine light came on. Loud grinding noise. I pulled over. Car was out of oil. No light no warning. So a friend recommended Rhodes auto. I stated the situation and that I want to know where oil went with no warning. Shouldn't a car burning oil show signs ? Smoke , smell, etc. . After diagnostic. And no questions asked ie; smoke? Smell? . I received a receipt stating needs engine replacement and that I wanted to know if previous company was responsible for oil light not warning me . Diagnostic / receipt " not a diagnostic print out" said nothing about where the oil went just that all makes sense to him because car is 170.000. MI called as soon as time permitted and still no one can say where oil went except all of a sudden a car that never burned oil now does. And oil light should have come on since it does when car is initially turned on. .Not very professional infact didn't even sound sure of himself. only thing professional was the billing. The tow driver as stated in directions he himself delivered says to driveway park and car was left on road side with out even a knock or call to inform us of the change in parking plans.

So in the middle of the night my Cadillac converter of my 07 prius was stolen. These guys were able to fix it, but not only that they were able to see a few other things that needed repair badly and fixed everything for a pretty reasonable price. Would recommend for all car needs.

I've had Rhode's work on my car and my wife's car quite a few times. They've always been honest, approachable, informative, and never made me feel stupid. They're good guys. The owner is also pretty cool and the guy that works the counter is a riot. At this point, I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else.

They might be good mechanics but their bookkeeping practices are atrocious. I'm on a fixed income I owe them $162 for work and they double charge my account which put me into overdraft . no phone call from the owner no attempt to relieve the problem

I brought my truck to Rhodes for powersteeri power steering problems. They fixed it, and a few days later I had problems with it again. They took it back and repaired it again at no additional cost. (The replacement part was bad, they didn't do anything wrong). Top notch guys.

These guys are eager to work and very friendly - even after dealing with my Miata's seized camber bolts! The service is fast and the hourly rate is super reasonable.

I brought my 2006 F150 to 3 other shops including the Ford dealership in Kenosha before bring my truck to Rhodes. The 3 other shops could not figure out what was wrong with my truck. After a Rhodes mechanic looked at my truck, he told me it needed 2 new coils and new spark plugs. They did the work and it fixed the issue. Thank guys!

These people suck. took my truck there,and they had it for a week.never once called me to inform me of what was going on. I called them every day and was told tomorrow every day.finally had enough and went to check in person. truck was parked on the lot,while they worked on other vehicles. when I asked what they had done. THE ANSWER WAS WE DON'T KNOW. did I mention they had my truck for a week. never ever again will these people get as much as a tire rotation from me.

Great service! Dan at the front is so nice and knowledgeable. The guys are good people who will be honest about what needs to be done, which is so rare it seems these days for auto shops.

Always very helpful. Have had work done on cars with excellent outcomes and service. However, they no longer do emissions testing.

Literally put one band aid after another. Three trips never took the seven hour time to replace ac core. Finally had it done elsewhere. Stay away.Service: A/C installation & repairService: A/C installation & repair
