I gave this shop a try this week for the first time as it is nearby. I was highly impressed with the customer service and work done. They caught an odd electrical issue where a small leak caused oil to get into a wire harness connection. It easily could be missed and was causing vehicle to stall. That and a new ignition switch got me back on the road.They were nice enough to give me a ride home and even picked me up when it was done. This shop now has all my future business and I highly recommend to anyone!

I have been bringing my vehicles to Hoffman s for quite some time and they do not disappoint. I have definitely brought them some complicated problems and somehow they still figure out the issues even when other places were stumped. The teams knowledge and experience at Hoffman s is bar none. They have much more comprehensive diag equipment than many shops have, which results in them figuring out the issues faster, saving everyone involved time and money.Paired with their excellent customer service and communication, I truly can not recommend Hoffman s highly enough. Al runs a tight ship and is fair and honest, also something important that you can t find everywhere.Long story short, if you re looking for an EXCELLENT repair facility to have your vehicle serviced at, look no further! Firstly I want to say that their level of professionalism and friendliness is outstanding and I was thoroughly impressed by that. I dropped my car off at 8:30 am yesterday, by 11am the next day they had a diagnosis and a plan of action for fixing the issues and by 3pm the issues were fixed. Thank you so much for your speedy services and your welcoming atmosphere! I will definitely be coming back for any future mechanical needs.

Al is such a great and honest man. He knows his stuff and doesn't fix and repair stuff you don't need just because. Very respectable and works with you. He's always my go to guy when I need something done, and have been doing business with Al for about 3 years. Best mechanic/owner I've ever known who doesn't cheat or lie to you. He's changed my tune about auto shops. Period.

I definitely will recommend this place for emissions. They do really good work and work fast. The other services they do i can't attest to but I believe they do well in it. The staff is quite kind and is willing to work with you

Great place for emissions testing and license plate renewal sticker. Pay them the fee and they ll even slap the sticker on ya before you leave.

Extortion simply put. Recently brought in my sons truck to have a wire diagnostic done due to brake lights staying on. Signed a contract for fee to have done. Had truck for more than 2 weeks due to kept pushing our scheduled appointment back. Had to call several times to get updates with answer always being need another day. Finally fed up went to pick up truck which is not fixed nor do they have an answer on what the problem is. When picking up was told it would be couple hundred more even though no answers. During argument over charge owner took vehicle and put in shop till we paid. If this isn t the definition of extortion i m not sure what is.

0/10 would not recommend. They had my car for over 2 weeks and it still runs terrible. They do low level work. They put my car to the side to as they said "work on more important clients." They lost my key in another customer's car and broke multiple bolts. Save your money and go to a place that actually works on your car.

Just got my emissions test done here, they were so polite and fast! Plus free coffee, can't go wrong there. All I needed today was the emissions test, but I saw their prices for other repairs and they were very competitive. I'm thinking I'll go here the next time I need something done.

Best service I've had in ages. Took my truck in for major repairs, came out almost $600 under estimate. (Total was $3000 less than Bouchier Ford) I just cant recommend these guys enough. Certainly have a customer for life with me!

I went to get my tires switched out at Costco. I was informed that the previous team who changed my tires stripped one of my stems and they would need to break it off to continue. I called Firestone, who completed this service, to ask them to fix it. They wanted to charge me $350. I called Hoffman Auto and within a day, it was fixed for less than half of what Firestone was charging. They dropped me back off to work (I went on my lunch break) and came and got the car after work. They were professional, polite and all around great people. If I still lived in Wisconsin, this would be my go to vehicle repair place.

This shop helped me out when I was on my way home to Chicago and my check engine light went on. Not only did they run a diagnostic for me right away so I knew it was safe to drive the rest of the way home, but they also gave me the information I needed to make sure I received only the right repair when I got back to Chicago.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

Originally I had an appointment set up with Midas to get my check engine light checked. I didn't have a great feeling about going there so I canceled the appointment and made one with Hoffman's based on the reviews I had seen. I can tell you that I will never go to another place to get any of our cars looked at or serviced. After going through the diagnostic check they were unable to find anything wrong with my car. I had been originally quoted $150ish and when I went to pay they would not take my money. I was told that since they didn't fix anything they would not accept payment. I was blown away. I have a customer service background of 25+ years and I have never received better service. These guys are the absolute best.

This is an honest automotive mechanic business. They are always price competitive if not the lowest priced for work. If there is an issue with the work they do, they will work with you to make it right. I know from experience. I've never been left unsatisfied with the work they do. I've also never been to a more customer focused shop. And this includes living in two states. The lengths they went to trying to save me money on a transmission problem was amazing. I ended up having to have the transmission replaced and they even got a rebuilt transmission, with warranty, at a lower price than I could find a used, non warrantied transmission. If you aren't satisfied with their work, you haven't given them the chance to do it right. Sometimes automotive repairs are not straight forward. With the newer cars there are many interactions that cause issues which are not easily diagnosed. I was very pleased with Hoffman s Auto & Tire. I had to get a new wheel bearing and back tires for my car. Al Hoffman and his team were very friendly, communicated the issue regarding my car, explained thoroughly, and gave me a fair estimate to resolve the issue. My car was fixed and I m fully satisfied with the work done. I highly recommend anyone to take their car to Al and his team. You won t be disappointed.

I brought my car in for coupon special which was....Flush & fill cooling system,, oil change & filter,, tire rotation,, and asked if a rattle underside of auto could be found. My car was there at 8 a.m.,, it wasn't done till about 4:45 p.m.,,, Much to long in shop for this service! When I paid the bill I was told many sounds were heard but could not find rattle. This is false words, my car is quiet except for that rattle ! Very disappointed ! Sorry,, won't be back. ----Today is 11-18-21,, I want all to know Al Hoffman contacted me regarding this complaint. Al Hoffman had my car taken back to his shop and found/silenced the rattle I speak of. My car was returned to me quiet and I'm most happy. This is quality service and I thank Al Hoffman,, I won't hesitate to recommend Hoffman's Auto & Tire to anyone looking for quality auto repair. Thank you,,, TomService: General repairs & maintenance

Had trouble finding one specific tire and a shop that was excited to do one tire in the first place. These guys were more than happy to help. Not only did they get the tire in by next morning, but they were able to get me in within a few hours and completed installation before I could finish a chapter of my book and make coffee. First experience went amazing and I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.Service: Tires

Took my car here for an emissions test and had a question about a noise my car was making and he was able to tell me right away and correct the issue free of charge. Recently I had a bad coolant leak I tried to fix myself but couldn t. I remembered Mr. Hoffman from my first experience so I took it over and they diagnosed the issue right away and was able to put in a new water pump and housing and all new tires for a great price! Great prices and great customer service. They even shuttled me back to my house and picked me up when it was ready.

I came here for a 2 wheel alignment on my winter car after doing some wheel bearings myself. I previously tried a different shop and they tried to tell me that I needed all kinds of parts up front which wasn't the case.I came here at the end of the day on a Friday and they were able to get my car right in. They did a good job and the car drives straight now. The price was good compared to most other shops that I called but their availability is what I liked since they got me in the same day that I called.The only issue that I will note that I had was that I was charged some money for materials and for hazardous waste disposal (total of like $6 or so) but for an alignment I don't see how that is needed. Perhaps for an oil change but maybe they just charge it on every job.Either way, overall a good experience and I'll be back for more alignments in the future on my other cars.Service: Wheel alignment

10/10 would recommend Hoffman motors, I was having troubles with my work truck and they knew how important it was I have it back in a hurry to keep business flowing. Got my truck in the day of calling, found the problems, and got it back to me faster than I could have asked for! Not to mention, over a holiday weekend!! Everyone over at Hoffman motors is easy to communicate with and they keep you updated as the process goes. I will most definitely be bringing my vehicle back for any future repairs. I had an excellent experience! Those of you that live in Kenosha, know how bad the roads are, so I had developed some serious suspension issues. The owner was very knowledgeable and took me back into the shop and walked me under the car to show me all the issues and what that meant for the health of my car. Being a single mom, my car is my only way back and forth to work. He went above and beyond to get my car completed within a day. His prices are very reasonable! I will definitely be returning for all my automotive repair needs.

I had an awesome experience getting my emissions tested here. They were able to renew my plates on the spot and put the stickers on right there. Additionally, staff checked my tire pressure and filled my tires up because they noticed the tires were low. Definitely above and beyond, quick service. Highly recommend.

Horrible, dishonest place! If you are a woman they will assume you're stupid and won't notice if they're overcharging you. They did so much extra stuff to my car without even asking me first. They also charged $100 to clean "battery corrosion" when I could have just gotten a new battery at Walmart for half the price.

Needed emissions. Every other place had specific times and and windows and when you d get there, there was an excuse of why they couldn t complete the emissions on my car.NOT Hoffman! They came through with professionalism, speed and value!! One stop shop- emissions certified and renewed my plates ! Thank you thank you thank you!!! You re the best!!

I have been going to Hoffman's Auto & Tire for 3 years now. I highly recommend going here; very reasonable prices, very courteous staff, and they always take care of me. I do not know much about cars and for that reason used to worry about repair shops taking advantage of me. I never have to worry about that with Hoffman's; they are 100% reliable and trustworthy. I am so lucky to have found this place because all of the stress that comes with vehicle problems are lessened knowing that Al and his team are doing everything they can to make the experience painless and inexpensive. Please take my recommendation- Hoffman's is the place to go.

This shop I thought was very honest and trustworthy reading from a review dated from 2010-2011. Brought my truck for fuel leak and check engine lights. What a mistake I made. They fixed the fuel leak and replaced the knock sensor which they told me needed to replace then reset the check engine light. Been back and forth for 2 months for the same check engine light and knock sensor problem. They finally gave up and told me take it to any repair shop and they will pay for the repair they can not fix. Took it to the dealerships and they won t even return my call to talk about paying the bill. This shop is more concern on taking your hard earned money. No integrity at all. If they do they should at least return the money for the things they can not fix. Very bad experienced with this shop. Will not recommend to anybody. Don t be taken by Al sweet and friendly talk. Never again to deal with this shop. They are good on state inspection and help you out on little things like low air pressure just to earn your business for the more serious problem in the future.
