The entire team at Pakes' were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Price was great and the work was top notch. Taking another cylinder head to them on Monday.

Was recommended this place by a friend to get my heads resurfaced. I came in and asked for a price and I never got one. Droped them off that day maybe thinking they would look over them and call back with a price or recommendations on what they might need. Got a call the next day saying they were done. Price was great and done fast but they never cleaned them after resurfacing and never asked if I wanted them cleaned.Service: Motor building

Pakes is always super busy, but that is a sign of quality work they do. They are relatively realistic in the time frame they give you. I always forget his name but the gentleman that is always at the front counter seems willing to answer any question you. I've had them work on some really rare engines and some common. They will be my go to for as long as I'm in Wisconsin.

Pakes did all the machine work on my 1976 Evinrude outboard back in 2015. I ddi the assembly but without Pakes, I couldn't have started the project. Engine still runs great and is used frequently during the boating season. Thank you !!Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Pakes did an outstanding job rebuilding my 289 HiPo motor. This was my first rebuild and they answered all my questions and gave great advice along the way. They documented the build great and were right on time with the completion. They even helped while I was assembling the engine with questions.They also gapped all the rings and installed the cam bearings without me asking which saved me a ton of time and the need to buy specialty tools. All I had to do was bolt it all together. I could not be more impressed with the quality of their work.Oh yeah, the cost was much less than any other shop I got a quote from. They also use top quality parts. I never had to ask for upgrades that are always recommended for these engines like ARP bolts for connecting rods and screw in oil galley plugs.I just wish they were closer to Madison! Choose them and you will not be disappointed.
