It was so clean, cozy, and relaxing! This motel is decorated so cute! Even the office had seasonal decorations! Great location, just a short drive to nearby food and shopping. I m not ashamed to say that we ended up buying a quilt and shower curtain similar to the one in the room that we stayed in because I wanted that vacation feeling at home. Ope! I almost forgot to mention that the bathroom soap smelled ah-mazing! Can t wait to plan our next visit!

Absolutely perfect; we are purposely pre-planning our next road trip to return! This set-up for our motorcycle weekend getaway couldn't be better. Safely parked our bike directly within 10' of our room door, with cameras also on the parking area. A kickstand plate was provided along with a clean soft towel outside our room every morning to dry our bike off! The location was perfect for meandering the Great River Road but also only a few miles to the bridge to Winona, MN, which made it a great day trip loop north and across to Hastings, MN and back. Can't say enough about the motel, we stayed in the Angler's Retreat room and it was pristine. New carpet, super comfy king size bed, high thread count sheets; new bathroom flooring, vanity. Personal finishing touches included large absorbent towels, boutique shampoo/conditioner, locally sourced natural soap, and, even eye makeup remover for the ladies! We were so surprised and pleased to find our room was tidied up with fresh towels, toiletries, coffee supplies when we returned, it made it so nice to have after a long day on the bike! Can't say enough about the wonderful woman who owns and operates this gem of a place! Christine was so accommodating and sincere from the time I called to book last-minute, through check-out. Her attention to detail makes this a hidden treasure. Can't wait to get back!Rooms: CLEAN, CLEAN and CLEAN! New updates well appointed, property excellently maintained.Safety: Well lit extended parking area with cameras for parking area in front of rooms. Steel kickstand plates provided for motorcycle.

This was our 4th stay at this motel. It is the cleanest place you will find in the area, and the owners are really nice people. Price is reasonable and the area is beautiful, plus the motel is motorcycle friendly. We came up with 4 other couples two years ago and everyone enjoyed their stay. The themed rooms are fun too!Rooms: Rooms are all themed, pick when you select a room.

This motel really is setting standards. From very clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. The little amenities and small touches are just the sweetest. Staff is friendly and very helpful. My mom has stayed here multiple years and always tells me how great it is, and she was right. I m excited to stay again next year. Thank you for being amazing.

This place is fantastic, clean, quiet and the staff is outstanding. Our group has stayed here in a number of occasions and we've never been disappointed. It is far superior in my opinion than a chain hotel. Grab dinner in town and come back and sit in the gazebo or just outside your room. If you ride you motorcycle they leave towels outside in the morning for you to wipe the Dew off the bikes, it's a small thing but it really means a lot that they care about their customers. In my opinion there's no better place to stay in this area. Well done Fountain Motel!!!

The only reason that I give the Fountain Motel five stars is because I can't give it six stars. I had the Lodge room. It looked kind of tacky in the photo but, in-person, it's amazing: beautifully done with lots of nostalgic touches. Everything is spotless and clean. Great shower. Designer "dirty hippy" soap. Comfy bed. Recliner chair. The next time I am in the area, I am staying here.

I was in town for a friend during flood season, which has been more scarce this year. They don't accept pets which was unfortunate for my circumstance. The greeting I had was great. The room was great and clean. The accommodations were great. I want to say everything was more than great, but there is nothing better than great (in my book). Thank you for hosting at such last minute. I will be back. And I want the Cabin room again.

Rooms are uniquely decorated and very clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and super helpful. Well stocked and quality bedding.A great place to stay.Nearby activities: The area around fountian city is stunningly beautiful, Take a drive in the bluffs. Great weekend getaway

This is the best motel we have ever stayed at. The host (and her Mother)Are the absolute best. The last time we stayed they brought complementary donuts right to our door in the morning. How special is that.The rooms are fantastic.We always stay here whenever we get a chance for a little r and r.Thank you ChristineRooms: Sooo clean and every room has a diff theme. No complaints or problems with our stay. Owner was very nice, helpful, knowledgeable about the area. Check in/check out process very easy. Good water pressure in the shower. Room had fridge and microwave which was helpful. Only negatives, which are due more to personal preference, bed was a little harder than my liking, curtains were not blackout curtains so they let some light in, and slight lack of places to hang or place clothes and towels in bathroom when showering or getting ready, since there is no cover on toilet. Can also hear the train at night but not an issue for me. Overall, great stay. Generally quiet as far as guests go. Would stay again.

Everything about the Fountain Motel was wonderful. It wasvery clean, the reservation was easy to make, check-in was easy, the communication prior to arrival was clear and concise, and the location for our travel destination was ideal. That takes care of the business side of this adorable lodging. While the rooms themselves were immaculate, they are also well stocked with necessary amenities (including the best bar of soap I have ever had the pleasure of finding at a hotel!) Sink and vanity area are separate from the tub and toilet. Each room has a theme so the decor is delightfully variable. We stayed in the Vineyard room, complete with a wine bottle night light, and the Burlington Route room, decorated in train motif. A bench was provided in the rooms to use as luggage racks and the vineyard room had a comfy chair, which is essential to my aching back. Treat yourself to a good night's sleep listening to nearby train whistles all night long, which sure beats the big city sounds of noisy traffic and frequent sirens.

Loved every minute of our stay.... very clean .rooms...we had clean towels everyday garbage emptied.......nice to have that....haven't had house cleaning in a very long .time..at other stays .....very friendly, polite, very helpful with directions, ideas on what to see, where to eat...already planning on coming back this fall!!!!! Also... just wondering if you know what weekend in fall would be the best for fall color's !?

My friend and I were on a motorcycle trip around the Northwest parts of Wisconsin. Our first night was spent in Fountain City and I chose The Fountain Motel as the place to stay. My friend had no idea I picked a themed motel! The motel is located along the Mississippi River and the view was very nice.Arriving at check-in, everything was ready for us. All payments and such are done in advance so check-in was a breeze. We went to the room and my friend just about died laughing at The Jungle Room! (I would have picked the Harley-Davidson room but it only had a King Size Bed) The 2 Queen size beds were super comfortable, the room clean and big, the bathroom was separate from the vanity which made it even easier for 2 people to get ready in the morning. The motel has no ice maker but the owner was great about giving us a small pail of ice for our use, which was the perfect size. The room does have a fridge and microwave along with HDTV.The next morning we were surprised with a towel on each of our bikes to dry them off. We have never received that kind of service anywhere we have traveled.I highly recommend The Fountain Motel for that special getaway. I know we'll be back!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Anglers Retreat room, while volunteering at Ashley for the Arts. It's not a big fancy place. Don't let that sway your decision to stay. It was so clean, smelled great. Beds and bedding nice and clean. Towels were awesome. It was really quiet. There is a train near by, but it never bothered me. I would go stay again and again. I have one suggestion. Only because I'm a short woman and it was hard to get to the mirror on the vanity to put my face on. I think a mirror behind the bathroom door would be great for putting on make-up with the natural light the bathroom window brings. Not sure if all the rooms have a window in the bathrooms. See you next year for Ashley for the Arts 2020!

I have been cyclotouring for more than 30 years and sleep often in motel. This motel is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Price is reasonable for a such quality. 5 stars!

Fabulous location! Fisherman's bliss across from public boat launch! Rooms spotless! Read each room is themed we had the Harley room! Massive motel room! Massive bathroom! Wonderfully appointed bath soaps, and mini fridge and coffee cups! Quiet AC and plentiful parking for boats! Great owner and great town friendly locals plenty of dining options close by! Will return!

The hotel and service were great. The owner gave us lots of places to go try. And was very friendly. Every day when we came back the beds were made and fresh towels.We loved the themed rooms. They were fun!Only thing I wish we had was a swimming pool so while my husband was off doing his business I had a place to hang out instead of just the room.Everything else was wonderful!

Love this little motel, great rooms, each room has a different "theme" only complaint is the rail road noise which isnt too bad overall. Hard to get away from it in this town. The motel was spick and span! I will be staying here again if I head this direction in the future. Highly recommend

Owner very nice, place spotless, bed very comfy, each room has it own theme, we stayed in the angler room. We will stay there on our next trip. Another place just down the road is in walking distance, wingdam restaurant and bar. Excellent service and food. The wife really enjoyed it.
