Nice Supper Club in Door County. The atmosphere is amazing, the service is top notch. It is a little pricey.I absolutely loved the Spinach Salad with Bacon Dressing. The French Onion Soup was also done perfectly. I ordered the Fried Shrimp and Rib combo. The Shrimp was tasty with a great breading. I didn't love the Ribs. They didn't fall off the bone, and the barbecue sauce tasted store bought. Only below average part of the meal, everything else was great!

We were here on a trolley tour with lunch. It is beautiful outside. Many nice seating options. The food we had was just average along with the drinks. The water provided had a well taste, so I bought my own two waters for a mere $13.25, what a deal!! ;) It smelled old and stuffy in the building & restroom which was a turnoff. If it's a nice day I'd recommend sitting outdoors. It's beautiful. Service was polite.

My NEW favorite restaurant in the area!! I don't know why I haven't eaten here before, but SO glad we did! First of all the building and ambiance are SUPER cool, the service was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. The hot bacon dressing on the salad was ahhhmazing! The pork chops (which we shared and glad that we did because the portions were very generous) were to DIE FOR, and the drinks were made to perfection! Honestly I haven't had a meal this good in a long time. I would definitely go back to the area just to eat here, but would absolutely come back the next time I am in the area.

I went here for dinner. I had the prime rib. It was okay. I found the prime rib to be a bit tough in some places, which is odd for this cut of meat.I had the french onion soup and it was good. The carrots that came with the meal were good, I don't normally like carrots. The baked potato was pretty good, though the skin was tough, I usually like the potato skin part. The people were friendly and helpful. She made some good suggestions.Would I return, maybe to try something else.Bicycling: The road running in front of the place isn't great as it's a high speed road with no sidewalk or side path. A positive is they have outdoor seating.

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The spinach salad with warm bacon dressing was phenomenal, the beef Wellington was cooked to perfection, and the twice-baked potatoes were absolutely amazing. The service was top-notch, making us feel truly welcomed. My boyfriend loved the flavorful chicken wings and veggie Alfredo. Overall, a fantastic meal with exceptional service. Can't wait to go back!

A week ago my party had a 5:30 reservation, and were seated promptly. This was the only good experience of the whole evening. We waited until 7:30 to get our meal. That's 2 hours. As far as service goes it was sub par. Waitress was non existent once she served us our drink order, and in the 2 hours of waiting never asked if we wanted more drinks. The food is over priced and overrated. I ordered the most expensive steak medium rare on the menu. (Porterhouse), and it came out the size of a pork chop well done. Their menu stated it was to be topped with steak butter. Mine had an apple glaze. Maybe they actually thought it was a $50 pork chop. As you can see in the photo I left, I gave the whole steak to my cat. The grilled Salmon was dry, but at least the baked potato was done correctly.I ordered a bloody mary and it came out thicker than motor oil. This place says it prides itself on making cocktails. Hmm! They can't even salt the rim on a bloody mary. "Lazy Bartender"What needs to be realized is Door County is not the only place that has high end restaurants. The tourists that come there also have the same restaurants in their communities. So when you pride yourself on the quality of food, you better get it right. The price of the food doesn't make the dish any better. The one thing this place should pride itself on is its decor, and ambience. That they got spot on.

Ate at The English Inn for our last vacation dinner in Door County, and was left pretty disappointed. For a $150 meal, the drinks and bread were good, but the baked Brie was served with pie filling cherries and individually wrapped club crackers, and the prime rib was grey and dry. When I tried to bring it up to the waiter, I was told the prime rib looks like that normally. When we looked at old google reviews for the restaurant the prime ribs looked fantastic- nothing like what I received tonight. I took 2 bites and left it, and we still ended up paying full price for the meal. Save your time if traveling long distances- this did not leave us with a good and lasting memory, unfortunately.

One of the nicest meals I ve had in a long time and in my top 10 of all time. The food was wonderful. The cherry salad with cherry bacon dressing was wonderful, and the mushroom ravioli in white sauce was delicious too. Crab cakes were awesome. Yummy bread.Atmosphere is charming, restrooms were clean, bar area (with casino games if you re into that) was lovely too.Our server Corinne was perfect. Polite, knowledgeable, attentive but not over the top. Amazing experience.

A fantastic restaurant. Great food. Great service. Ornate beautiful atmosphere. Much more than you would think simply from the outside. But the outside dining and entry areas are great too. The menu prices are rather high; however, that's because all things considered, it's certainly worth it. I'd love to dine here again sometime if I'm ever in the area again. I had the ribs and my wife had the fish and it was all fantastic.

Visited the English Inn for the first time on our anniversary. We travel to Door County often and always like to try new places. Checking out the menu online and reading through reviews made us comfortable this was a good choice. We were so happy to get a reservation considering it was only open 4+ hours per night. It is also very nice to be able to reserve a table, quickly, online. We arrived early and it was a packed house. Just enough time for a quick drink at the bar before we were sat. The bar was empty and we could not believe it. The bartender was friendly and quick enough to get us our drinks consider they were also making drinks for a packed dining room.On our way to the reserved seat, we quickly realized how packed it was. The place looks small from the outside and the rain that moved in kept all customers inside rather than taking advantage of the great outdoor seating. I was nervous. However, everything went just great! Our waitress was attentive and even kept us up to speed on how much longer our food would be. Filet Mignon and the Rib Eye were perfect. The clam chowder was a healthy portion and tasted great! With a long list of drinks, starters and entrees for all hunger types, this place was amazing. Each step of the way, we considered it was a packed house. From the time we sat, until we left, it was 2 hours. At one point we were concerned we've been forgotten. But, it was PACKED. I felt the night could have been far worse. Great for our anniversary and FIRST TIME VISIT!If needed, I will update my review after our next visit.

The English Inn was recommended by a friend, and she was spot on. I highly recommend making reservations, call after 4 PM, there is an online option too. We arrived at 6:50, sat by the big stone fireplace while we waited for our table and we were seated by 7:00 PM. I ordered the special, Chicken Wellington ( see photo) and my partner ordered the ribs and honey chicken wings combo. Our meal came with choice of potato and salad, order the house, bacon dressing, it's sweet but so good, we purchased a bottle the next day. Of course, we had food to take home but saved room to split a dessert, a chocolate lava cake with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. We were served by Nolan who provided great service with a smile.Parking: Plenty of parking for a Wednesday night, the parking wraps around the building. I am not sure if they had a full house if there would be a problem, but we were fine this evening.

First of all, this place got very busy after we arrived. But we were able to get seated right away (timing is everything). The menu explains right away that you should allow yourself one and a half hours for dining. They do not rush you! Fantastic! My husband had the clam chowder (too lemony) and the broiled white fish which he said was only okay. I had the cherry spinach salad with hot cherry bacon dressing which was delicious. I also had the seafood casserole which was fabulous. Made me want to try and figure out how to make it at home. We did finish off our meal with a root beer ice cream drink. It was okay.It was pricey but enjoyable enough.

It was my birthday and Robin was our server. She was absolutely wonderful, as was the food.I love the old supper club feel of this place as well. The only thing that was not pleasant was the bernaise sauce. It was clumpy, cold and separating. It should have been taken off the menu until the chef learns to properly make a sauce.

4.5 stars. Very busy, popular dinner place in Door County. Known for its Spinach salad. I had Filet Mignon, Potatoes Au Gratin. Very good.Service was excellent. Indoor and outdoor dining. Decor theme is England but it could use a facelift. Nicely lit party light give welcoming glow.

Arrived for our 7:30 reservation and was seated in a timely manner. I was excited to try this restaurant and take in the ambiounes of this unique restaurant. We are a pretty easy going couple so the table we were seated at was not quiet ready which was no big deal. The waitress was great very attentive. Received our drink order then our appetizers, so it was going fairly well. Then our main dish came and that's were it turned for the worst! I ordered the Pistachio Crusted Halibut ( absolutely terrible) over cooked and chewy and he ordered the Queen Rib Eye ( very grisly, tough like leather, bland and no flavor ) both bake potatoes were burnt. The only thing that was good was the fresh salad and fresh bread. Watched a couple walk in sit down next to us waited 20 minutes got up and left. If I could leave a 0 stars I would. For $140 dollars for 2 meals 2 ice teas and 2 desserts don't waste your money or time.

New Years Eve dinner, promptly seated and served. The Beef Wellington was the best I've ever had. Husband had Halibut...also delicious, very rich. We love this restaurant, it treats you well.

Update: Unfortunately our experience here in 2022 was nowhere near as good. Service was very slow and the steak was charred when medium well was the order. Dropping from 5 stars to 3 stars.2021 - We liked the food and experience here so much we dined two nights in a row! Beef Wellington, the steak and the whitefish, oscar style, were all excellent as were the ice cream drinks, the service, and the outside fireside dining tables. If we didn't live so far away we'd be back often!

The service was attentive and for the most part accurate. We had a party of 20 people and the service was friendly and well timed. Guests said the fish fry was just OK "too fishy" so the freshness if the fish was questionable. The prime rib was great but the Ribeyes were thinner cut, not sufficient for a $34 steak. Overall, great supper club atmosphere and friendly service. Good for groups, will return!

Ambiance: Great and cozy! The fire pits on the tables and heaters near each table are comfortable in chilly evenings of door county. Ambience gives them 2 stars otherwise would have given 1 star for food and service. Keep reading...Food: Okayish!!! Everything on the menu from appetizers to deserts is just overpriced and the food does not deserve $$$ price point. The $29 all you can eat fried fish is just overhyped. Only cod and catfish were properly fried and crispy. Rest 4 kind of fried fishes were too soggy and oily (Literally!!). The complimentary bread was the only savior on the table.Service: Pathetic, careless, negligent and worst to worst judge-mental servers. We told our server before ordering anything that we don't eat pork, bacon and beef due to our religious sentiments. He got me the first course: clam chowder soup which was loaded with bacon. Glad I looked at it and didn't eat it. When I asked the server if the soup had bacon, he casually said "yeah it will probably have bacon in it.". What!!! Are you kidding me, dude!Next, the fried fish was supposedly "all you can eat" but when I asked the server for second round of fish (the first round had only 4 small pieces of fish), he asked "are you sure you will be able to eat more fish?". I was like "yeah, didn't you say I can order and eat all night long!"...He looked and sounded very judgy and made me uncomfortable to order more fish. He never smiled or responded to my thank you. I said, "I loved the cod fish". And his response was, "what about it?" Third time was not a charm but a disaster. I ordered more fish and he made weird faces. LOLOverall, this place is waste of money and only for those who want to spend $$$$$$ on expensive drinks. By the way, they have vast drinks menu so that may excite you to visit this restaurant. I would probably buy a 6 pack and drink at the beach tomorrow.

We had a fantastic experience. The drinks were good, both of us had the ribeye which was very tender and cooked to order. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer and they were also delicious. The service was good, we will definitely return on our next trip to Door County.
