We have been staying at the Waterbury for years. We have found the rooms to be spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and attentive. We enjoy the indoor pool and whirlpool (especially with kids) when the weather doesn't accommodate. The staff obviously takes pride in the appearance of the grounds, they are nicely manicured and decorated for the seasons. The location is ideal . . . in the heart of Door County, but away from the craziness of some of the other communities.

Have been coming here for years, usually in the summer. Fantastic outdoor area that we and our son enjoyed every time. Also in a super convenient location for places we tend to visit. We decided to try a November mid-week this year, our first as empty nesters. Really enjoyed the quiet season! The beds are always comfortable, nicely stocked kitchen utensils, pans, dishware, etc. we will be back in true winter!

We LOVE the Waterbury Inn!! I have been going there since I was a child, and now I get to bring my family there. The location is central to everything, easy drives and some walkable shops and eateries too! We love the indoor and outdoor pool! This is our go to!Nearby activities: Right between Sister Bay and Ephraim!

We visited Door County for a beautiful fall weekend & chose Waterbury for our family stay. We had an overall nice stay at the Inn until we got home. The location is great if you enjoy exploring that end of Door County! The staff was friendly & attentive the place was overall clean. The option to cook in our room was nice, the pool was great for our kids, and the grounds were beautiful. The room furnishings could use updates & there is no elevator - if you need to consider that for your ability (ask for a first floor room if you can t carry things up the stairs). We made great memories in Door County, had the perfect fall colors and great hospitality .UNTIL we came home.A day after our return home my children started to have bumps on their torso. I didn t know if they were a rash or what was happening. Because of the severity of my boys rash we made a doctors appointment to address it only to find out it was Bed Bug bites. While I know bed bugs can be a concern at hotels, we ve never encountered them & I honestly hadn t thought about what we, or a hotel, would do if we confronted them with these findings. I immediately called and left a message at the Waterbury (their desk closes at night). My main concern was making sure another guest was NOT staying in the room we were just in so they would not have to go through what we were now facing.I did not get a return call as soon as I had expected the next day, it took almost 24 hours (which I would not have expected with a call like this). My husband called to check in to make sure they got our message and it was reported that the manger would be in later to call. We waited several more hours and no call so I called and shared frustration that nobody had contacted us. I was told the manager was not in town that day and would call as soon as they were back. 30 minutes later they called.Now, again, I can imagine this happens at hotels. I can also imagine people make this occurrence up and hotels have to be cautious with how they approach. I also can imagine they don t want to be known for having bed bugs or people will avoid staying. I also know this particular inn has individual owners of units and the GM is there to protect profits for all. With all that being said, I had never thought what would happen if it were actually true and it happened to us, to anyone. How would they help make it right? We, unfortunately, were not lying. My boy had over 40 bites on his body & my daughter had about 30. They slept in separate beds and we stayed for two evenings. Their bites ended up needing a cream to treat the infection and over two weeks later they look like they have little scars. It s sad and hard to see as a parent.When I talked the GM initially he said they (and he) tore the room apart and found nothing (remember he was not there that day but he did a thorough search). He told me various ways to treat our home and things to avoid, and told me that bed bugs weren t a disease just a nuisance (I m not sure he d feel the same if he had them come home). Again, not thinking about what this response may look like - I was surprised that there was not an apology and that there wasn t a single bug found. My children didn t have one or two bites, they had dozens! This isn t the job of one bug that can easily escape.My husband called the next day to follow up after our frustration settled in and no ownership or apology was made. The GM asked if we could wait a week for their annual bed bug inspection - so we did. However - he told us they turned up nothing. Which then gives them zero ownership. Knowing that I m not lying, I hope they treated that room the week we told them and they inspection was after treatment. Though they never told us they treated the room I hope they did otherwise they have untreated bed bugs at their Inn. We had a lovely stay here minus this experience. It honestly will be hard to mentally recover from for future stays. Take the GM s response as you like. We stayed NOWHERE else long enough to get that many bites. Glad it s safe for future guests.

Wonderful stay at Waterbury! A great unit with a nice patio! Love the kitchen in the room. Great pool area (indoor pool & hot tub and outdoor pool). So many games and activities available! Beautiful landscaping as well, very well maintained! Chuck was so friendly at check in & out! My wife and I only stayed here for a night but we had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful during our stay. We took advantage of the indoor pool/hot tub during the cold weather. It was a very cozy and warm atmosphere with a lounge area that had a fireplace, a couch and tables to play games/puzzles. We appreciated having a stove with a kettle so we could have hot chocolate. We would stay here again!

Brought my fiance up here for the first time and wanted to try a different hotel and I m glad I picked here to stay! I only have two complaints. First, check in time was listed as 3pm and we arrived at 2pm and just went in to see if we could check in early but the employee at the front desk didn t even look to see if we could check in early. I understand that it is there policy but to disregard a small request so quickly rubbed me the wrong way. Second, we are on the 1st floor and the second we stepped into the hallway, we could feel the humidity. We turned the corner and saw at least 5 or 6 dehumidifier s where most were filled and have been since we arrived. I know how hard keeping humidity in a large area can be but when the rooms and fabric in the rooms are damp all the time, it pays to keep emptying the dehumidifiers. Otherwise, it s a great value for the location! Would come back!

This was my first time staying here this past weekend. I really enjoyed having the indoor pool and hot tub, both of which were very clean and well maintained. The fire pit outside is also a nice feature we got to enjoy as well. The rooms were clean and had plenty of space (2 of us in a 2 bedroom). Its' location is also central to everywhere on the peninsula. I will be returning here for sure.

Our suite was comfortable (although a bit dated) with a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room. The outdoor pool area was very nice, as were the grounds in general. Lots of flowers. But while we were provided coffee and a coffee maker, there were no cream or sugar packets. When I went to ask for some at the desk, the response was we don t provide those now. And most people just go to the store and get some . While I know this is a nit-picking thing to complain about, I had to wonder why such an inexpensive item couldn t be provided. In fact, it always has been in every other place we ve stayed over the years. So, stay here, but bring your own cream and sugar.

Two weeks ago my high school classmate & lifelong friend stayed for 3 nights in the bitter cold & had the most wonderful time! The staff were so accommodating & friendly, even fired up the fire pit for us. Our 2 bedroom loft was perfect, warm, clean, & cozy. We sat by the fire pit all 3 nights in our fur coats.

Had a wonderful time here for the weekend, one of the nicest hotels I've ever been to. Lots of amenities, very clean, and we enjoyed playing board games in front of the fireplace. Unlike most hotels, rooms come with a small kitchen equipped with pots and utensils, a stove, oven and everything else you could need to make it feel like home. Also, chat with Ron at the front desk, talking to him was probably my favourite part of our stay! Our room was great, but Ron made the experience wonderful. We will definitely be coming there again!

Stayed here for a 3-night girls trip and the hotel was great. First thing I noticed, after meeting the friendly onsite manager, was how clean our room was! Indoor pool was perfect temperature and pool area was clean and stocked with towels. We didn't try the outdoor pool, but that looked nice as well. Perfect location in the middle of the peninsula. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff and facility exceeded our expectations. We felt appreciated and that staff wanted us to be there. It is rare to find such welcoming and friendly individuals. The room was very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We sat by the fire outside at night which was a really nice touch. Nice to have an area to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. We will definitely bring our kids back as this would work great for families.

Friendly staff and it s my home away from home whether I m in Door for pleasure or business. Waterbury Inn has great location!Rooms: Very clean always and comfortable bed.Lots of amenities at Waterbury. Enjoy art gallery and SIP next door. Love the gas firepit and hot tub especially each visit!

Good location, not next to water though. The rooms and washrooms were clean. Towels and linen was also very clean. Every room had a small kitchenette. Perfect for breakfast. Microwave, fridge, coffee machine. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. We had gone with friends and had a nice time. The cafe opposite to it has very nice coffee and very good breakfast options

The customer service here is impeccable. The place feels big and small at the same time. Location is centrally located between all the little towns in the area. We just wanted to get out of our house and take our toddler to a pool. We mentioned that and were put in the closest room to the pool which was very convenient. Our room had a kitchen and separate private bedroom. Most importantly, it is clean. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone.

We had a nice stay. The room is pretty nice. Small tv's but very comfy beds. The room was clean. The grounds could use some work. The indoor pool area is really nice and the pool temperature is perfect. We were here in early October, if that makes any difference for the pool temperature. Our biggest issue (not a huge deal) would be that the coffee isn't made until 8:00am. They do supply coffee pods and a coffee maker in the room but we generally do not use those.
