Be cautious when dealing with Pat Kummrow - he'll smile and lie right to your face, I learned this the hard way with my 2006 M3, which had 43,000 miles on it when I brought it in for general maintenance. Despite spending a significant amount of money, close to a good percentage of the car's value, my vehicle came out worse than it went in.Just a few days later, every conceivable dash light came on, and the car died. Now, it's at another shop, far away from these folks, which means more money out of pocket for me. Pat will shake your hand and promise to do the work, but it's a lie.To make matters worse, they somehow forgot to tighten the bolts on one wheel, which almost came off - it would be laughable if it weren't so dangerous. Around the same time, my car developed a roof leak, not near the glass moon roof, but just a random leak that appeared during the first rain. The shop it's currently at told me it looked like grease had plugged up one of the drainage holes in the roof.I should have done my research and avoided this place. Instead, I was lazy and paid the price. It's been two weeks, and I'm still paying for another vehicle while mine is being repaired. I've had to order parts myself this time. As I watched my car being taken away by a flatbed truck, I noticed that the front brakes were warped - how could they have missed that? I had specifically asked them to check everything for safety during my previous oil change, and brakes certainly count as a safety issue.I asked them to check all systems, change all fluids, and that's what I paid for. But they did the bare minimum, and it took them plenty of time to do it. To be frank, I've never been compelled to write a review like this before. But I feel it's necessary to warn others about the problems I've experienced and spare them the trouble. Avoid this place at all costs and learn from my mistake.[Patrick]A covert narcissist is a term used to describe an individual who exhibits narcissistic personality disorder traits, but in a more subtle and hidden way compared to an overt narcissist.Covert narcissists, on the other hand, may come across as humble, empathetic, and caring. They may use their charm and ability to connect with others to manipulate people into doing their bidding, but they do so in a way that is less obvious than an overt narcissist.Covert narcissists may use tactics such as passive-aggressive behavior, gaslighting, and emotional manipulation to get what they want. They may also use their ability to mimic emotions and empathy to create a false sense of intimacy and connection with others, which can make it difficult for people to recognize their true motives. It's important to note that being a covert narcissist does not mean that someone is not a narcissist. Both overt and covert narcissists have a grandiose sense of self-importance, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration. The difference lies in how they present themselves to the world and how they go about getting what they want. It's also worth noting that being a covert narcissist can be just as damaging and harmful to those around them as being an overt narcissist. The subtle nature of their behavior can make it harder to recognize and address, which can lead to further manipulation and exploitation of others.Don't believe his lies; he's trying to obfuscate with his rebuttal. The entire story is disgusting, and every time I think about how I was taken advantage of, I feel ill and unable to function at work or home. I don't want others to suffer financially or physically, as life is already pulling us in many directions. I would rather have been writing a positive review, but this experience has given me no pleasure and has only caused problems."Bill (aka Vlad)" Question a.k.a. is this an attempt to shame me? Yes I came to America when I was two, during naturalization I was given an American name William this is not uncommon 99% of the world knows me as Bill I grew up being called Bill. I am going to check with google if I can add my phone number for anyone who needs more.

Kummrow has worked on a modified new to me 04 R32 several times now. Communication is friendly and top notch, timely estimates and repair. They where able to complete an alignment that involved adjustable aftermarket suspension, tire install and brake flush. Several weeks later accommodated a short notice water pump replacement when I had it towed in. Answered several questions I had not related to the repair done to the best of their ability without charge. Very fair prices for German car care using OEM+parts.Service: Tires

. Their numbers were double of what the dealer actually charged for repairs. The diagnostic charge was $150 more than the dealer. I am sure because I took the car to the dealer Beware of slick & shady practices.Take your auto elsewhere.

I have been going to Kummrow for years and can't say enough good things about the shop. Most recently they worked on my new (to me) E30 and went above and beyond. Sent it in for some preventative maintenance and they went the extra mile to fix some other issues which resulted in it running significantly better than I expected it to. Andy grabbed a spare part from his parts-bin at home and after all was said and done, Pat gave me the break down of what was done, what still needed to be done and offered advice where to look next to get the car in even better shape. I always head to Kummrow.

Amazing customer service, Andyanswered all my questions and evensqueezed me in before the weekend so lcan enjoy my car! They installed a Dinan mid pipe for my340i (sounds great) and I plan to continue to bring my car there to have additional aftermarket components installed when the time comes!Highly recommend this place as the team is very professional, granted I didn't have the opportunity to talk everyone there, but Andy and Scott werewelcoming and professional. There was one more guy there that helped me load up my stock mid pipe, didn t catch his name, but he was also a great guy!2023 Update: Brought my car in to have aftermarket suspension installed as well as new wheels/tires to be mounted balanced and an alignment done. I stand by my first review of Kummrow team, they're awesome to work with. Highly recommend Kummrow Automotive! Thanks Kummrow team!Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension replacement, Wheel alignment

On every occasion, Kummrow Auto has provided me with outstanding customer service & top-notch repairs & maintenance on my VW Passat. Along with performing relatively routine repairs (brakes, oil changes, tires, etc.) reliably & honestly, their knowledgeable techs can also handle any of the more challenging or unique repairs that can surface in a VW. Most recently, they completed a flawless engine swap with ZERO related post-repair problems. This is an extremely difficult task to do well & I've read numerous posts detailing the ongoing issues & costs that can arise from a poorly executed engine swap. So, if you need an honest & knowledgeable mechanic whose results are reliable & superior to the rest, Kummrow Auto is the place to visit!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake repair, Engine repair, Wheel alignment

Kummrow Automotive is a very competent specialty European car shop. They are easy to deal with and communication has been consistently good. On my 2015 BMW 335 X-drive with 85K miles, Kummrow replaced three leaking engine gaskets, replaced the worn-out and leaking struts and rebuilt the front disc brakes. The three-day job was done on time and at the quoted price. About two weeks after I picked the car up, while passing, the Check Engine light went on and the car was running rough. I took it back and the guys at Kummrow discovered the motor for the eccentric shaft had somehow become disconnected, even though that connector was far from where they had worked. They did the simple fix and charged me nothing for the diagnostic and repair work. The car now runs as smooth as it did when new. Kummrow has my trust to do the repair and make it right if there s a problem.Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes

The folks at Kummrow are absolutely top notch. I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a used BMW only to have it leave me stranded on the side of the road 7 days later with a significant engine fault.I contacted Andy at Kummrow and let him know I'd be having it towed in, within an hour of the car arriving at the shop, they had an understanding of the car's issues and proceeded to communicate clearly and often with me about what the car needed and why, as well as what it would cost. I thought my car would be down for a few weeks, but they ordered the parts quickly and had the car done within days!I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Andy and his team made me a happy customer and I will be referring friends and family to them in the future.-MaxServices: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery, Oil change

Kummrow Automotive is a wonderful European automotive shop. I started using them because my previous independent shop started making mistakes.Kummrow has always done exactly what they said they are going to do, and in a timely matter. I find if I want certain parts installed, I source them ahead of time. This speeds up the entire process.I would also like to point out to other potential customers that if you have a high performance vehicle, expect higher bills. We have an X3 and a 550i. The 550i is always more expensive to fix, and this is not a reflection on Kummrow, this is the nature of owning such a vehicle.

Only place you should have your BMW worked on in SE Wisconsin. The knowledge and expertise here on these German cars is better than every other shop.

I visit Kummrow regularly for oil changes on my Jetta TDI and always feel welcomed by the friendly staff and handsome mechanics. Recently, my car started falling apart and it was quickly diagnosed and repaired. Pricing has remained fair even while our economy is in shambles. There have been few and far between instances where I had to wait on a part to ship or wasn t able to get my car in within the week, but I m pretty sure this locally owned Milwaukee business isn t in control of the worldwide shipping and freight issues almost every human on earth is facing. Thanks Kummrow!Services: Exhaust, Oil change

This shop might be a bit more expensive than other places in town, but you get what you pay for here. They do great work and do not cut corners. It's the only shop in town that I trust for service & repair on my older BMWs.Service: Wheel alignmentService: Wheel alignment

The whole team at Kummrow is awesome. They always exceed our expectations. Having owned a BMW for the last 19 years I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Told them that my car had leaks of coolant. I had the car checked elsewhere to get a second opinion. Needed thermostat and water pump replaced. I waited over a week to get my car looked at for them to tell me i had leaks all over the car. I had coolant leaking from reservoir. I told them what I wanted and needed replaced and I was told not to put anymore money into my car. Didn't diagnose any problems just lifted the hood saw leaks and said it leaked from everywhere. Was told I needed new tires but didn't give me any codes for why the engine light was on. I knew what I needed for my vehicle and they gave me some outrageous price to fix it.

I've been a customer for the past three years at Kummrow. Also referred my parents and friends to this shop. In late June 2012, my expansion tank cracked straight down the middle and they did a great job fixing it as usual. I also had work done on my car in September of 2012 to prepare me for my move to another state. I took my car to the shop today because coolant was leaking and they informed me that I need an new expansion tank. I called Kummrow to see if I can get the part from them since it was under warranty and also explained that I would take it to them if I still lived in the area and not 15 hours away. The father informed me that he would not pay for shipping. I stated that I would and he went on to say that he wasn't going to ship the part all of the United States and also that I was 3 days past my original warranty. I would of thought since I've been a customer for these past 3 years and considering how much work my older BMW has had there, plus referrals, that they could at least help me out, but NOPE! Now I'm paying for the exact same work almost exactly a year later. Personally, I thought the son was nice and the father was racist and rude.

First visit after using VW dealer for years. Changed after recent dealer quoted $360 for $60 fan regulator part that i was able to replace in 15 minutes. Also dealer could not accommodate checking engine check light very quickly.Overall experience at Kummrow, easy scheduling accommodating taking my car in the same day, listened to my request and symptoms, quoted costs up front after diagnosis competed, work done correctly as far as I can tell.I can't claim this was cheaper than dealer but believe it was definitely competitive.I also know that not every experience can be great but I left with a sense of honest work for the $900+ cost of all repairs.

This is my first negative review of any company, but I could not let their rudeness, dishonesty and disrespect go without warning people about this place. The van had just gotten back from their shop the day we bought it. Sadly, they did not fix the issue. The previous owners had told them that they were going to take care of the problem. When we called Kummrow, not only could they not get us in for almost 2 weeks, but they were extremely rude. Telling us, "New owners, new problem."Once they did take the van, it was in their shop for over 3 weeks, and they still were UNABLE TO FIX IT. We had to call them each time to find out what was taking so long, since they didn't follow through on updates. They told us they were having trouble locating a part. When they finally gave me the part number, which I had to practically beg for, I found it within 10 minutes. Ironically, when I called them back to see if I should order this part, they miraculously found it. We could have had the part shipped overnight, gotten the van back at least 5 days sooner, and paid less than they charged for the part (Online $29.00; their price $75.00).With all this being said, we finally picked up our van, thinking it was done, it STILL WASN'T FIXED. They told us there was another part they needed, but said, "It was discontinued...they couldn't get this part." They claimed they tried hard to find the part, but when we asked for that part number they weren't sure they were giving us the correct number. Again when I searched for this part, I found a new part quickly. There was no mention of it being discontinued. Not sure if they had a problem with us, or if they treat other customers so unprofessionally. Regardless, THE OWNER TOLD US HE WILL NO LONGER WORK ON OLDER VW VANS, so if you happen to have a VW van, or any vehicle, I would highly recommend taking it elsewhere.

Pat, Andy and The team at Kummrow have exemplified the auto repair shop experience. Kummrow has become the sole service provider to all of our German vehicles. Is it comforting knowing the repair team has years worth of highly-trained experience and is able to diagnose even the most troublesome repairs. The added benefit of using all OEM replacement parts ensures repairs are done right the first time. They have effortlessly worked with me to maximum my repair value. The approach to seamlessly operate such a successful business is hard to replicate and I wouldn't hesitate giving my recommendation to anyone in need of service, preventative maintenance or performance and track-day upgrades.Thanks. - JServices: Transmission, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Kummrow Automotive is always so accommodating. My check engine light came on and I avoided bringing it in for weeks in fear of a huge expense. I thought coordinating an appointment would take time but they were able to schedule an appointment the same day, diagnosed my issue and had it fixed within the hour. So grateful for Pat and his crew! I highly recommend them!!!

Kummrow has been a great service for my BMW! I had to have a hefty replacement of my intake cam gear and the service was unbeatable! They put back every single bolt and clip as it was supposed to be! It looks like they never did any work in the first place! With this place being a Dinan dealer, I trust their advice and work! Furthermore, their pricing is reasonable for what the job is and how long it takes them to do it.

I stopped by at the place based on the reviews. Here is my experience:1. I came in and mentioned right away that I have a computer, know all the codes, provided the codes to them, and asked if they can just take it further by performing a test that will tell them what exactly is wrong with a vehicle. About 30min later they came back to me showing the codes I mentioned and saying that I have to keep the car with them for more testing. They charged me $70+ for running the codes and said it will be another $70 for more testing.2. After paying, I asked if they looked under the hood to spot any oil leaks - the answer was NO.However, I knew it's there and you do not have to be a mechanic to see the leak. Which tells me, he lied to me and they did not even open the hood and charged me for connecting their computer and showing me the codes, which I gave them prior to their testing.I would prefer you telling me the truth. You did make an easy money but lost all the trust and a customer.Based on all the certificates you have in your office, I am sure that the staff is very knowledgeable. Best of luck!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Excellent service and staff! We brought our 2013 BMW 550i in for a dinan tune a few months ago, the car runs amazing and the service was outstanding. We needed to have an emissions test done on the vehicle and it didn t pass the first time due to an OEM system not registering. I waiting 1.5 hours to get the emissions test and wasn t sure what I needed to do. I called Kummero Automotive and spoke with Pat, the owner, and he said swing by and let him take a look. No waiting time, took about 10 minutes and he didn t charge me for his time. He sent me down the street to Manyo Motors to have the emissions test redone, once again only a 10 minute wait and it passed emissions! Liz at Manyo Motors was great and I renewed my sticker right there. My day started out rough but due to the excellent service at Kummero Automotive I am happy to say I ended my day with a smile. Thank you to everyone who has helped us, we are loyal customers for life!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning

Didn t have a good experience here. They replaced parts on my 06 BMW 325i that didn t need to be replaced even though I had told them about the root cause. They seemed annoyed dealing with a knowledgeable customer. Pat - none of your diagnosis mentioned oil seeping through the eccentric shaft sensor.. after I stopped by, I ordered that sensor online along with gaskets for the cover and replaced it myself following YouTube videos.. the car runs perfect now..

Personally the worst experience I ve had with a car shop. Took almost a week for them to even look at my car after I dropped it off the first time. Then after I paid over 500 for them to just replace the battery, the car broke down again and they said it wasn t their fault that they didn t find the actual problem on the first visit. So I had to get the car towed a second time, and pay for an additional 2.5 hours of labor for them to replace the alternator (which I told them that what I suspected was the problem from day 1. Almost 2 weeks and $1200 later I have a new alternator.

Knowledgeable car guys. Don't let the modest building fool you. This is a top notch auto shop with capability to handle high end luxury, performance or daily driver cars. I put both price and expertise above dealers. These guys love cars and it shows in their work and willingness to talk shop. They have helped over the phone a few times no questions asked. I've had great experience with an Alpina here. Trustworthy. I will be back.
