3 years ago on my drive through from Madison to Minneapolis, my water pump blew on I94. Gave this shop a call and they were able to squeeze me in and get me back on the road in a few short hours. I still think about the top notch service, how genuine the owner/employees are, and the fair pricing 3 years later. After visiting many other auto shops, it s easy to say this place does it right! My dad had the same positive experience when he had a breakdown in the area a few years back. The quintessential small business that deserves nothing but praise!

Absolute, top notch customer service! I needed an inspection for a used car in Baraboo, as I am 3+ hours away. I called Hometown Auto and at first, he couldn't fit me in in the time frame I needed, but then he promised to squeak me in. As it turns out, he got it done a day early, gave me great info on both the vehicle and the dealership that is selling it. They sent me pics of the undercarriage, too. Thanks to Craig and his son, I have peace of mind making such a large, long distance purchase. We visit the area frequently, and should an auto related need arise, I'm going to Hometown Auto. Highly Recommended!

Will be taking all my vehicles here moving forward. Had a major issue with one of my cars and they walked me through everything without making me feel like they were talking down to me. Gave their honest opinion and advice for the car and ended up saving me a lot of money on a fix that was unnecessary.

Fantastic shop. My son's car broke down at Devil's lake and I gave them a call. They recommended Craig's towing who was great as well to pick it up and drop it off at their shop. In a few hours they had the problem diagnosed, the starter replaced and had us on our way. I couldn't have asked for better service and pricing.

Just moved here from Florida. Was super nervous about my car after that 16 hour drive. Craig and Chance took care of me and really made me feel safe and taken care of in my new hometown!!! Super grateful to know I have an auto shop I can depend on for anything I need. Truly outstanding customer service and quality work!! 10 out of 10. Highly recommended!!!!

My wife and I were visiting Baraboo and about to leave for our home in Chicago, when our car indicated that the air presser in our tires were low. Fearing that we may have picked up a nail, a local resident recommended that we take the car to Hometown Auto Repair. As it turned out, she was so right. They attended to my car quickly. Inspected the tires and found no leak, but did find that the air presser was a little low in all tires. They brought the presser to the correct levels. There was no charge. Even the gratuity I offered was politely declined.I get to Baraboo twice a year. In the future, if I should ever have auto difficulties while there, I would not hesitate bringing my car to Hometown Auto Repair.

Cannot recommend enough!! Sooo kind and caring! We were vacationing in the Dells and headed home when our car started making a horrible grinding noise. It was 4:30 PM and most places were closing soon. Every mechanic in the area said they would try their best to get to it the next day, no promises, but we decided to go with Hometown Auto - and were so happy we did! They recommended a very prompt tow company, and stayed there late until our car arrived, and looked at it right away! I was shocked to get their phone call around 5:30, past their close time, that we could go pick it up!! It was thankfully a very quick fix for them, and they literally got us on the road right away so we could still get home that night. They even called the next day to make sure we got home safely and had no more problems. If you want service that really cares, definitely Hometown Auto!

The best experience I have ever had! You almost expect to be taken advantage of when you have issues with your car. Chance helped us right away and was so nice. Turned out to be an easy fix that we weren t charged for! I wish more businesses were like this one.Thank you so much Hometown Auto!!

Fantastic shop, we are traveling, had visiting family and noticed an odd sound and thought was something with the brakes. Called them mid-day and even though they were booked well over a week n a half out they said come in they d take a look. We came in and less than a half hr they had diagnosed and fixed the problem.Thank you very much for fitting us in and getting us back on the road with safe brakes and rotors. As we were in town visiting the local waterparks, we hit a shredded tire on the road. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by Chance and the issue was diagnosed. In 10 minutes, we were in and out. Best auto experience ever!!

In a world where integrity, transparency and honesty is not easy to find especially in the automobile industry, this establishment delivers every time. They have serviced our many vehicles for almost three years, they are are customer focused and go out of their way to ensure your satisfaction is meet. It is blessing to know our vehicles will always be safely serviced and I would recommend them to anyone. The shop is clean, they priced fairly and every service appointment has meet our expectations. The guy that runs the shop is extremely knowledgeable. And within two minutes of talking to him I got a feel for his honesty. Gave me a no cost assessment and told me exactly how long I could band aid the issue before it became a big deal. What mechanic does that? Only one who aren't screwing you!

I wasn't able to have the issue that I had taken my car in for done, no fault of his. I was happy to see how friendly he is and on that and that alone I give him 4 stars. He does have a good reputation for the work he does and is highly recommended

So thankful for this shop!! My family was traveling and our service light came on and it turns out our alternater had gone bad. They were able to get us in immediately and also got it fixed for us so quickly to get us back on the road. They were so friendly and helpful!! So happy we found them! Thank you again!!

Came from out of town to check out a car for sale and brought here to have it looked at. They were extremely accommodating, even when plans changed and I had to reschedule on a day s notice. They were very fast and respectful, even took the time to take me into the shop and show me everything they were looking at on the car. Would recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy mechanic in Baraboo!!

Experienced a flat tire with a rental SUV and they changed it to the spare, inspected the tire and charged us nothing ( although we did give the young man a tip). They referred us to another garage to get a new tire because they didn t have one in stock. Such nice people; I would highly recommend them!Service: TiresService: Tires

Craig and his son are two of the nicest, honest, hardest working guys I have ever met. I had an estimate for brakes a few years ago and it was about $1500. I went to see Craig on a whim to get a second opinion. He told me immediately that there was a very small chance the estimate I got was remotely accurate. When it was all said and done. He repaired my brakes for half the money. Hometown Auto is the only repair shop I will visit. Craig is a great guy who knows his cars. When I lived in Baraboo I always went to Hometown Auto because I knew I would get charged for the actual cost of the repair and that he would do a good job. He is reliable and a fun character. As well, he runs a good business and is professional about his work. He took the time to walk me through the issues with my vehicle and helped me become more knowledgeable too. I really appreciated the extra details. Compared to other auto repair services I have received, where communication is slow/nonexistent and they charge me exorbitantly for a mechanics time, Craig charges very fairly and gets the work done in a timely fashion. Great business!

Craig is most honest mechanic we have every had the pleasure to deal with. He always makes time if we have a strange noise or knock in the car. He goes way above and beyond for his customers. His prices are very reasonable and explains and shows you what is needed for your vehicle. We recommend him highly to all our family and friends.

My daughter and friends were visiting the Baraboo area and ran into car problems. I called Hometown Auto right away the next day when they opened and they were able to tow the vehicle and fix the broken brake line same day! We can't thank them enough. When I spoke with Craig I felt like I had always been a client of theirs as opposed to a client in need of service who they had never met before, living 3 hours away. I called when I discovered a screw in one of my tires. They were very accommodating and told me to come right in. The tire was fixed in less than 15 minutes. Great customer service, very friendly and their prices can t be beat!Service: TiresService: Tires
