Reasonably priced for a beachfront hotel. We had two queen beds and a small deck overlooking the lake. View was spectacular. The beds were only a little uncomfortable and the sheets didn't fit well.There is coffee and pastries available in the morning in the lobby which was nice.The rocky beach has tables, firepits, and chairs.We enjoyed our two nights on that.I would recommend for a well priced basic hotel room.

Remodeled, older motel. The room was immaculate, and the view out of the patio door was awesome. With the raised, private deck, we left the patio door slightly open so we could hear the waves.Rooms: Not handicapped accessible.

The rooms are a little bit dated and eclectically decorated, but they make up for it in service. Honestly the people at this hotel are so incredibly nice. There are 24-hour beverages at the office and they give you cinnamon rolls for breakfast and oatmeal and a few other things. If you thinking about going rock hunting in door county this would be the place you would want to stay. The beach is literally feet from lake and it is covered with agates and basalt geodes with crystals and also some amazing fossils. It is very low key it is not a busy town and everyone here is incredibly friendly. The motel is a few minutes away from some really good restaurants and right along the boardwalk. Fire pits and beach chairs for every room. Definitely try to get a lakeside view.

Cannot get any closer to the water without waves hitting your bed. Smallish round rocks and sandy beach right there. Rockhounds dream fyi. Absolutely a joy to fall asleep listening to the waves crash. The guy who checked me in was very friendly and courteous and accommodating. My room seemed perfectly fine decoration and condition wise. Clean as well. My only complaint is they really could use new mattresses. If you like a super soft mattress you'll be fine, if you have a funky back I'm not sure what to tell you. There may be a room with a firmer bed if you ask when reserving. There are fire rings out back with chairs your welcome to light a fire and listen to the waves. I will definitely be back. It's only an easy 22 min drive to sturgeon Bay. There is a small town diner a short walk up the beach that was extremely affordable (eggs, toast, bacon, hash browns, and coffee with tax under $10). Was a lovely way to start the day walking up there and back.

I stayed here one night on a work trip in an average room with a queen bed; the lake view rooms are an extra charge. The room was dated, the pillows were flat, the bed moved when I leaned on it, the bathroom fan made a horrible screeching sound whenever I turned on the light, the water came out brown when turned on for the first time and the sheets were stained! Makes me wonder how often they maintenance the rooms for these issues to be present when a guest checks in. There was no real breakfast in the morning but juice, coffee and packaged pastries. The view behind the motel was nice but not enough to make me want to stay here again. I wish I could attach a video for full effect.

We had a great time and experience at Algona beach motel. It s nothing extraordinary in amenities or so, but the location itself is the strongest point to book your next visit. Right on the Michigan lake. Every room provides great views of lake and that feeling when you open room door and step just on lakeshore is amazing. Enjoying sunrise, sunset on lake while sipping to hot tea coffee is a pleasure to treasure. We have been there in 2019/20.

Nice location a little out dated but the view from our balcony was spectacular. Will return.This trip we got a room that had a smell of urine.A tree was blocking our view.Window screen had a hole with a piece of kleenex stuffed in it.Would be nice to have some privacy barriers on each side of the deck. But for the low price and location on the lake, it is a good place to stay.

My boys and I had a great time here! Loved our room view. Friendly & helpful staff & service. Walk out of your room and dive into Lake Michigan!!! We even built a campfire on the beach. Pits & chairs provided. Woke up to a beautiful sunrise on the lake!!! Great place.

The view was amazing, unfortunately because it backs right up to the lake you will constantly have people walking and sitting in front of your window. The wifi is spotty at best. As far as the room goes, there were cobwebs in a few spots, dead bugs and as soon as I filled the hot tub there was a black ring. Based on my full experience of this town, this might be the best place to stay there.

Enjoyed our stay, right on the beach, private area, sat on the balcony, watched the sun rises, and the full moon gorgeous, the waves lulled you to sleep, also had fire pits. The staff were very friendly. Yes it is a Motel, but I would definitely say location, location, location. Will definitely be going back. Social distancing & safety practices were in place.

Small but nice, can hear the waves all night. Beware on hot summer nights there are sand flies that can get in through the screens, but they don't bother you, just stay on the screen or ceiling. Good coffee all day.

I have stopped at this motel for several years and find it a nice place for a short stay. It is not perfect but the location makes it good. The rooms are musty until they've been aired out for a while, and the rugs tend to be stained. But the rooms have a great view of the lake and are clean.

Small, clean hotel right on Lake Michigan. They have grills, picnic tables, and fire pits for your use. Owner very friendly. Mom and I had a room with a kitchenette in it. Lulled to sleep by the waves every night. Not fancy, but we loved it!

Bed bugs were found in one of our rooms! When management came to look he actually said he didn t think it was a big deal! He said they can t compensate for every complaint and that he wasn t authorized anyway. I was supposed to get a call back once he spoke to the higher up gods and have never heard back from anyone! The surroundings are beautiful but not enough to endure bed bugs! People just don t stay here! Very poor poor management and customer service! On their website they have a comment Hello. Our motel has been present for over 20 years. We make the best for all! I would think after 20 years they should ring true to this statement but they couldn t be farther from it!

Beach is beautiful!!! room views are awesome! Staff was more than happy and helpful, rooms have a bed, ha,..that's all I need! That, and changing clothes was the only time spent in there. The private beach is beautiful, movable chairs, and fire pits so you can make your own "spot"... very happy memories were made, look forward to more in the future :)

Very disappointing place to stay! if you enjoy sleeping on rocks then these beds are for you. The rooms don t look very clean, the bathtubs don t drain. The towels had stains on them had to go back to the office more then once to feel like u could dry off. I would not recommend anyone ever staying here!!!

For the price we paid, I expected a lot more. A clean room, for one. A dirty towel was on my side of the bed, the lights wouldn't turn on so I checked if they were plugged in and found garbage and a half (dirty cup, candy wrappers, etc) behind the night stand INCLUDING the alarm clock. Clearly housekeeping isn't their fort�. I was not impressed and wish a refund would have been offered. WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN.

What makes this place is location, location, location. Be sure to get a room with a lake view. It's so worth it. Not only for the view, but the sound of the water. I would have given it 5 stars but the mattress was more like a box spring, so so so uncomfortable. You just couldn't lay in one position without having to reposition every couple hours. But otherwise, it meet our needs in every other way. And just fair warning, go slow coming into the entrance drive. Your car will thank you.

We loved our experience with Algoma Beach Motel. Rooms were clean and views were spectacular. Being able to walk out our door less than 100 ft. to the beach and build a campfire was wonderful and right up our alley! Coffee available in the lobby all day, juice and danishes available for breakfast, which was just right to hold us until we fixed our own breakfast.(Our room had a kitchenette) I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone looking for a place to stay directly on the shore of Lake Michigan.

The location was great and the room was average. The only issue was the bed was really uncomfortable it felt like an air mattress and I was worried we would fall in the middle of the night. Even though the mattress was uncomfortable the room was clean and I would consider staying here again.

Located right on the beach of Lake Michigan, beach facing hotel rooms have great views. The rooms were clean and pleasant, but the TV was old and beds and pillows were a little stiff. Service was good and staff were flexible about plans.
