This hotel has a great location near the highway and has several stores and casual restaurants in the adjacent plaza, so everything is an easy walk. Rooms were ok but nothing special, however the shower wasn't so great due to variable water temp and a sketchy shower head. Staff are accommodating but there can be lineups at peak check-in times (esp. 4-6pm).

Room itself is okay, smaller then expected though. Fridge is very small. No freezer so don't expect one. Hotel floors overall are pretty dirty. Floors definitely need redone. Carpet in hallways is gross. Elevator floors are gross. The worst part about this hotel is the NOISE.. these walls are PAPER THIN and you hear EVERY CAR outside. It's right next to a shopping plaza, and cars and trucks use the lane in between as a race way at night. It's insane how loud it is ALL DAY. Bathrooms don't have vent fans. So it gets insanely steamy in the bathroom.. and no privacy noise cover like with an exhaust fan. Laundry room? Nope..out of service.. spa?? Nope.. that's down too.. oh did you want pancakes with your "good breakfast" ?? Sorry, that machine is also down...The employees however are SUPER nice. Very accommodating and kind. They saved the review from being a 1 star. If the noise level was better it wouldn't be so bad.. it's just impossible to sleep.. walls are WAY to thin to be next to the raceway shopping plaza and highway.

Upon entering hotel a customer was waiting at desk for staff. They had been waiting for staff to come back to desk with keys due to a mix-up from rooms. They said they had been waiting about 15 minutes. I made my car from the entrance and parked grabbed my things and came back inside wasn't sure how long it would have to wait to be checked in by the time I got inside there were four other families ahead of me. And finally someone came to check us in. It just so happened to be a staff member who stopped in off their shift.I was satisfied with my room It was very clean and neat and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with toiletries that I always seem to forget, however this time I did pack them in my bag.I had been called into work night shift. I was heading home and I realized that I left my makeup bag and my skin care bag and toothbrush on the sink in the bathroom at the hotel. I called the hotel and let them know immediately that I had left my bags and for them to notify me if they get turned in and they said great they would let me know, I told them that my friend work there and if they found them to leave them and she would get them to me.My friend works at the hotel so I knew my stuff would be safe. So I sent her a message after getting off the phone with the hotel staff and let her know that I left my stuff and I asked the staff to leave a note on it for her and that you would make sure I got my stuff.I called the hotel later that day to check the status of the room being clean and if my stuff had been found and asked to speak with the management team and was told that my stuff had never been turned in they'd looked at the videotapes and nothing had been brought out of the room management stated that they would follow up by checking with the housekeeping staff who cleaned the room and get back with me and at this time I've still heard nothing except that I claim to have left my things there no I left my bags there and unfortunately I have not received them back.

Room was clean , however it was cold and the room stayed fairly chilly inside heater did not seem to functioning very well. The worst part was that we had our do not disturb sign on the door at 9am the housekeepers tried barging in, made a huge amount of noise, then they proceeded to yell back and forth in the hallway for the next 30 minutes while cleaning the other rooms, check out isn't until 11am , they showed a complete lack of respect for paying guests and were very unprofessional. Other than those two things room was fine.

Check in was awkward and slow. I feel like the front desk could present themselves a little more professionall and be more informative. They were dressed in very casual street clothes sitting in chairs at the desk easily mistaken for guests. As far as our room, it was clean and spacious. We had a suite and it had two larger smart tvs that my husband really enjoyed. The pool was very crowded so we didn't get to enjoy that and the hut tub was broken. (We were not informed of this and there were no signs so we were a little dissapointed about that.) The location was great and close to everything we needed. We will probably stay again with different expectations but overall we enjoyed our stay.

No hot water to shower. Broken elevator. Rude employees. Random dogs unattended in hallways on floors dogs aren t supposed to be in. Owners had no idea their dog was alone in the hallway? Pool and hot tub were closed, they were a year ago as well at the time of our stay. No blankets or pillows in rooms until 10pm after checking in and making them aware at 6pm. Charged $71 twice when we paid for our stay ahead of time. Once after we checked in which was refunded after we noticed and then once again after check out. When we paid in full before our arrival. Less than pleased and this is at least my 4th stay at this location. Last year my husbands service dog was attacked by an off lead dog in the lobby and we were told it wasn t their problem.

This was our second time staying at the La Quinta Inn in Summersbille WV. Will never stay there again. 1st time people had dogs that were barking at night. Front desk said well they paid a pet deposit. I don't care, we paid for our room. Could not sleep. 2nd time was on 2/8 through 2/11. No hot water, Could not take a shower. The batteries in the remote for the TV was held in with black electrical tape. People yelling in hallway, doors slamming all night, and kids running up and down hallway. Also someone came into our room yesterday when we were gone and went through our belongings. I want a refund.

The room was ok but noisy we were on the side of the highway and it was so noisy all night also during the night we got woken up by a screeching sound from the neighbors room shower .. we also heard dripping noises during the night the room was ok .. but the hotel was just overall noisy. The beds were uncomfortable.. we had decent service from the front desk .. we passed on the breakfast as it did not look great

Stayed here for one night. The service desk was very friendly. We had a 4th floor room and it was very clean and I was surprised to see that it had a smart TV! My only complaint is that the walls are thin! You can hear people outside the door very easily and there were many people outside the hotel doing burnouts and revving their trucks throughout the night. So if you are a light sleeper. Be warned. Otherwise I'd stay here again!Rooms: Comfy, clean, but feels like thin walls.

While they advertise as one, they are not really all that pet friendly. Dogs of course can stay, but good luck finding them a place to use the restroom! Especially if you are a woman traveling alone with dogs, you have to go behind the building in the dark. I attached a video to show what I mean. The room was okay for the most part, it was kind of dirty. Hair everywhere! There was even an old jolly rancher wrapper on the floor. They said they had waffles on the website, but no waffles! Pancakes were bad. Cant really complain about free breakfast though. Its good for a night stop, thats about it.Jacuzzi was closed, saw one review 9 months ago showed 2/3 washers out of comission but one was working. During my stay, only one was out of comission. One of the doors on the side that has swipe access was never locked. Concerning. Lack of security is also a concerning point.Bathtub was kind of gross - hair stuck.

The hotel was in a nice central location for our needs. We were intent on splitting time between Summersville Lake and the New River Gorge National Park. Additionally, several restaurants, gas stations, and grocery options were within walking distance or a short drive. The king size room was above average. The king bed was comfortable. The room is equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast was decent, with options like fried eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, and fried potatoes. The only reason I didn't give the experience a higher rating is that the pool area was closed. The reason we initially booked La Quinta over other less expensive options in the area was the fact it has a pool and hot tub. We were unable to use either, so it had a large impact on the value of our stay.We would definitely stay again, though we would confirm before our visit that the pool area would be available. If not, we would reevaluate our options.Rooms: We stayed in the king room. The room was exceptional. It is equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. The bed is comfortable. The shower always seemed to have enough hot water, which is often a problem on trips.Nearby activities: Summersville Lake is close. Also, New River Gorge National Park is a short trip to the south. Staying in the Summersville area on our trip to the Gorge meant we were close enough to the park without the hassle of all the crowds. We could easily make our way to any activity in the park with a short drive, then retreat from the crowds when we were done.Walkability: Many restaurants are within walking distance. Walmart is also within walking distance for most... Though common sense should prevail. You don't want to make the walk back loaded down with shopping bags.Food & drinks: There is a Hibachi restaurant next door. On the other side is a Bob Evans. A short stroll away there is a Mexican restaurant. A little further to the north is an Italian place.

Overall pretty disappointed. It s expensive for what it s worth. Hot tub wasn t working, but we weren t made aware of that. Pool was open, but was too cold to swim in. Elevator made noises and didn t run smoothly; and we were informed after many trips in it that it had stopped working several times over the last two weeks. Very short hours on breakfast, so if you sleep in you miss it. Definitely overrated and too expensive for what it was.

In need of some updating. Beds are uncomfortable. Things were broken (hot tub, elevator). Pool is small, gym is large. It is right in new downtown and very close to shops. Leaves a lot to be desired but I think for the area one of the better places to stay. If this was in a more competitive market region, it would be a horrible hotel.

A satisfied stay in my recent times. The room was hygiene, odor free and spacious (and the bathroom too) as it was a king suite. The toiletries were from dove and and pure. Ensured we had sufficient supplies for a second day. They have pool, gym and free breakfast.Breakfast menu: juices & beverages, sausage, biscuits, scrambled eggs/omelets, potatoes, breads, fruits, milk, yogurt, cereals and more.If lucky you may find fresh lemonade and popcorn at the lounge.

We stayed one night this past week. The price was very reasonable and the room was lovely. Clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower in our room was great! Tony on the front desk on Sunday was cheerful and very helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we d had in a hotel. Real eggs and potatoes! Definitely would stay here again.
