If your going to New river gorge and want to see the bridge you can t find much closer lodging than this. Room was fair but definitely older than previous comfort inn stays. Also I think they deserve the award for smallest breakfast area in a hotel. They had a whopping 4 tables in the breakfast area which meant I had to stand to eat my breakfast and the breakfast wasn t anything to write home about. I m also convinced they won the worlds smallest parking lot contest. If I had arrived 15 minutes later I would have had no parking as I got the last spot and then I observed out the window as another guest had to park and walk from the grocery store next door. This place has potential just need to take care of some details to make it great!

I checked in very late last night on thanksgiving with my 2 yr old granddaughter. We were exhausted and didn t take the time to review the room entirely. This morning, I spent a few hours trying to get a shower but only had ice cold water. I only get a hotel when I visit my so that I can get a shower and start my day. It s so difficult to do that when I stay with either of my grown children and all my beautiful grand babies. I tried calling the front desk multiple times this morning for more than an hour before someone finally answered just to tell me at 10:00 am that I will not be getting a shower anytime soon today if at all today. The clerk at the front desk just called me back and suggested I go to another hotel. Which means I would have to pay for another hotel when I ve already paid to be in this one and another hotel won t let me check in until 3 PM and it is currently 10:30 AM I have a granddaughters birthday party today and I have a grandson s birthday party tomorrow And in the better light, I can also see now how disgustingly filthy the sink is and the corners of everything I am So extremely disappointed that I cannot get a shower cannot start my day and paid way too much for this room, and I am supposed to be here another night without knowing if I will have water to shower. And, of course, nothing has been offered by this hotel for this matter.Rooms: No hot water. Can definitely be cleaner

The staff is always nice but the hotel itself is cheaply made. I could hear every word of the conversation the people in the next room were having. I turned the fan on constantly so it would cover their (and our) conversation. Also, on this trip, I had to clean mold/mildew (I'm not sure which) off of the shower head before we felt comfortable showering.

Went for bridge day, couldn't beat location next to the shuttle stop. Had a weird reservation and the front desk attendant was a rockstar and helped me with it. Breakfast was meh, no bacon. When I was waiting in the lobby I heard other customers saying their rooms weren't cleaned, and had previous guests clothes hanging in the shower. Didn't think anything of it until after I checked out and found i had accidentally left my personal laptop in the room. I hoped they had it in lost and found, or maybe they didn't clean the drawer, but they didn't have it. Either it was taken by an employee without report or the next guest in the room found it because the staff didn't properly clean the room. This was my stupidity for forgetting it but it soured the entire experience after the fact.

Room was decent, so was the location. The whole room shook when people walked above me. Was entirely too loud to get any restful sleep. Will not stay again.Nearby activities: Was a 8 minute drive to the bridge tour location headquarters.

Friendly and accommodating, even when we showed up late at night. Comfy beds, helpful staff, tasty breakfast, and a short drive to the rafting we had booked for the next day. We were very happy with our stay.

We were supposed to check in at 4 pm, but we were late and got there around 7 pm. The front agent was busy because someone was booking several rooms in a row via telephone. The agent was so nice and pleasant and was very patient. The room we were staying in was very clean. Breakfast was excellent. I loved the location. It s about 3-4 miles from shopping centers. We will definitely come back again. I am sorry I didn t get your name Sir, but I want to say thank you.

It s nothing fancy, but this location and the hospitality is your perfect for your NRG stay! Our room was simple and clean and the area was very safe.I am a bit of a mattress snob, and these beds passed the test! Nice and firm. Breakfast was simple but convenient and got us ready to roll for all of our hiking excursions.

Generally satisfied with our stay. Decent basic accommodations, but did note cracks in drywall, shoddy drywall taping job, leaky sink faucet and loose sink faucet handle. Tile at north side entrance cracked/broken. Guest laundry was out of service. Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows to share. Bathroom linens were plenty and good quality. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, so can't review that. If you're looking for good, clean, basic accommodations at a good price, we would recommend Comfort Inn New River.

The pool is broken and we booked it mostly for the pool (and the rare option of 2 king beds). Why am I giving it 5 stars? The front desk person (I think his name was Frankie or something similarly informal). was super nice and apologetic and explained the situation and how he's really been trying to get it fixed. He offered to cancel our non-refundable reservation and have us try to find a similar place with a pool. Good Customer Service is more important than amenities.

The place was nice, bed was comfortable, sheets were clean. The towels left a lot to be desired; the ones we had 2 had stains in them & one had holes in it. The front desk clerk said that they were changing hands & they were getting all new linens. The Continental breakfast was subpar, but it puts food in your belly. The dining area was very tight quarters & chairs were obviously dirty from dirty hands & not proper cleaning. So in my opinion for the price we paid things could have been better.

The rooms are terrible. The noise from guests and the constant up and down of the elevator kept me awake most of the night. The bedding was used and dirty. My bed sheets had what looked like pee stains at the head of the bed and I found several black hairs on the pillow cases. Mine are blond. Please clean the bedding for new guests. The wires from the front doors were hanging down from the doorframe. That doesn't seem safe to me? The hot water machine scared me when it rumbled like a tornado. The breakfast was nice but the dining area was very small. The location was good.Nearby activities: New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.

We were very pleasantly surprised how wonderful our experience was at New River Comfort Inn. With no hotel in site we were not expecting a top notch experience. From the checkin by a very welcoming front desk agent. The rooms were super clean and furnished nicely, the very comfy bed and linens, the great morning complimentary breakfast and to top it off the exceptional price!Thank you again!

Hotel was one of just a few close to the rafting outfitters for the Gauley River. Brandon at the front desk was very friendly and professional (both on the phone and in person). Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, whole fruit, and pastries. Sign said sorry, we are out of yogurt . Other than that, great breakfast and friendly breakfast staff. Our room was fine, beds were comfy. However, I had booked two rooms with one king bed per room, but when we got into the rooms there were two queens in each. No big deal because we were two couples, but the room type change wasn t mentioned when we checked in.The biggest negative was that the shower curtain liner was visibly moldy in many spots, so it hadn t been changed for quite a while. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully the shower curtain was a one-off thing and doesn t normally happen. Overall the hotel should get something closer to 3.8 stars, but Google doesn t have an in-between rating.

In picking a hotel, I always use recent reviews to understand what to expect. There were mixed reviews on this hotel but I have to say our 4 days here were fine. I had chosen the two king bed room and it was clean along with a clean bathroom. The towels were thicker and not frayed or old. You could hear kids running down the halls, but that is in every hotel, and we only heard that in the mornings. It was nice and quiet at night! We ate breakfast at the hotel and it was the normal continental breakfast, nothing to write home about but gave us plenty of options to fuel our days of hiking. The location was great for exploring the New River Gorge National Park and close a lot of "local" great restaurants. I would stay there again without any hesistation!

We stayed here for a wedding. We asked if we could check in a little bit earlier due to needing to get to the wedding by 4. The manager on staff was rude to us and by the time we were able to check in after 3, we had to rush to get to the wedding on time. The hairdryer didn t work, the sheets on both beds were stained, the towels were stained and the room overall felt dirty. The ice machine was out of order. I know this place is in the middle of nowhere and maybe that s the standard for the area, but clean sheets and towels are the least they could provide for the $200 they charged us. Definitely don t recommend staying here!

Outside security door had to be propped open because it wasn't working, not enough room in the breakfast area, and the quality and quantity of food was lacking (actually ran out). Pool detached from building and padlocks until open but key card swipe did not work so anybody could go in and fencing made it secluded but not secure...had a funny smell.

We stayed here for a 2 day weekend. It was an average hotel. The hot water was more like warm, but the bathroom was nice. Beds were also comfortableWhen my husband pulled the drawer open in the stand next to the bed there were candy wrappers left in there from a previous guest. So unfortunately not too sure how well they follow cleaning procedures. Never saw one employee wear a mask properly the entire stay either.

I stayed there while hiking in New River Gorge NP. Great location for visiting National Park. 10 minute drive to Visitor Center, 5 minutes to supermarkets, shopping. My room was clean, furniture was up to date, bathroom clean, good water pressure at the shower. Staff was polite, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast area is not big, bit I did not feel uncomfortable sitting there. They provide typical food for their free breakfast: eggs, cereal, oatmeal, cream cheese, bagels, bread, coffee, tea, juice. Overall I had a great expierience.

Good: The room was clean and recently renovated. Everything was in working order. The employees were pleasant.Bad: The breakfast room is too small. We were unable to eat breakfast one morning because the room was full and people were waiting outside to get in. Also, there were no full size plates, only small dessert size plates.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and had just come from a disaster of a hotel previously that we canceled. Fortunately, we found Comfort Inn and we were a little apprehensive at first. However, it was 100x better than the previous place! Frankie was very kind and welcoming, and told us some of the minor appearances we may encounter such as stained sheets and such but that they were well cleaned. We had a great nights sleep! Thank you for a great experience!

After traveling through the mountains from South Carolina for 6 hours through rain and fog I needed to get off the highway because I was getting very tired. So I was just looking for a room I can get into where I could just rest until the next morning. So going down route 19 heading north I drove for maybe a half hour and decided to get off not knowing what kind of hotel I was going to get. So the first one I came across was the comfort inn And I elected to go inside and talk with the front desk and see what kind of rooms they had available. I asked for a room on the first floor which The man at the front desk who is extremely nice got me a room on the first floor with two queen size beds. I really didn't know what to expect but I thought even if the beds are uncomfortable I'm still tired and I'll probably fall asleep anyways. But to my surprise, The beds were quite comfortable and the room was very clean. So I'm just glad that I decided to stay at the comfort inn because I slept very well and was very rested for the rest of my trip to New York.

I am a very, very picky person when it comes to hotels, I always prefer a Hampton. Well I came across this hotel it was close to ace adventure so I decided to chance it, trying to keep an open mind. I was absolutely impressed!!! Clean rooms, staff was fabulous. The only issue I had was the room to get your breakfast, it is super crowded and not much room at all, but the breakfast was very delicious and the cooks are wonderful.
