My old Subaru had an unfortunate death, and Nick from Subaru Morgantown spent a day with me in the summer heat and made my life easy to get my completely new Forester. Love it so far.

They are very helpful. We were greeted quickly and treated with kindness. The service writers helped get our car repaired, when the repair needed more then they could do quickly they got us a "loaner" car. The dealership made sure it was a new, clean vehicle comparable to what we were driving. They kept us up to date as to the work being done and we felt that when we got our car back it would be repaired correctly. We have had several things done at John Howard and will continue to do so. We have never had any problems they are not willing to "make right".

I ve been getting general maintenance and oil changes on my Subaru at John Howard for over a year since I bought it, and I have to say things have been pretty up and down. Starting out, it wasn t great, but fair. I won t talk about how fast service is because I don t understand what it s like to be in the garage so I won t hold long wait times against them. However, what I do hold against them is that they will try to convince you to do something you don t need to do. I get it, UPSELL, but I ve been straight up lied to about my air filters needing replaced. Literally watched them tell three other people in waiting room the exact same thing they told me, which surely wasn t a coincidence. The price of an oil change has bounced between $40 and $70 with no warning. I ve watched people driving my car slamming on the brakes and almost running into the building and/or other cars, like I can t see them from the waiting area. The final thing I will say is that the person who comes to ask if you want anything to eat or drink has not been trained whatsoever. It feels so uncomfortable, even though I understand the intent. Not exactly a solid note to end on, but definitely something they need to improve. In short, I m probably going to start looking for somewhere else to get my general maintenance done.

Wonderful service, knowledgeable staff, excellent to work with on financing. We've now purchased 4 cars within our family from John Howard on both the Nissan and Subaru sides with no issues and very pleasant experiences. Easy to get in for servicing as well. I would highly recommend Randy and his staff to anyone looking for great selection for any price point.

I can't speak much on John Howard Subaru as a whole, but my experience with one of your sales agents was extremely pleasant. Enough to merit a review, at least. Tyler Bramble was excellent throughout our exchange, and has kept in contact ever since. I couldn't buy a car at this second, but he makes me want to buy in the future. And a salesman who views a customer as a future sale rather than a current failure is fine by me.

Great Service, the best I had so far. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, caring and sincere. The car is great. I had a call from Pete Pro III, who did all the dealings with me, to make sure everything is fine and that I had no problem. Kirsten Surbrook went out of the way to accommodate the test drive after the normal closing hour. The service department is great. I met Megan Smith, she is very proactive, has arranged installation of the remote start within two days of purchase, and was very accommodating to fit my busy schedule. The whole team has an excellent leadership and I get a personal text from the owner Randy Buzzo. It all trickles from top to bottom and the whole dealership has great organizational culture and customer focus. The whole experience of buying the car was great. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone.

When I purchased my Subaru XV Crosstrek back in 2014, I was pretty happy with the dealership. They had cut through the chase of haggling back and forth like Jenkins Subaru had. In fact, they dropped the price to precisely where I wanted to right out of the box, which shocked me to say the least. And then I began getting service with John Howard. Now mind you, at the time, I worked in the area and it wasn't that big a deal due that I typically did it near the end of my day. My first 2-3 appointments, everything went smooth and I was in and out quickly. Then my next 3 appointments came up... One was smooth, he others very time consuming. And then there was the hassle of not having all the information I sent in on hand. I had requested a quote for a remote start prior to one visit. Once I was in, they were surprised about the request and seemed to not know I had done so until checking into it further and found I had indeed done a request. Another time, the site scheduler was buggy and they had to contact me, which was in a timely fashion. However, my most recent attempt to schedule an appointment has been frustrating. So the scheduler was still bugged when I tried to set up an appointment. I contacted John Howard via chat and was told I would get contact soon from the service department. I waited all day and never heard back from them at all. I contacted them again the next morning and the person on the chat was a bit surprised it hadn't been done yet, especially since I had just requested it the day before. I have received the same statement that the service department will contact me. I suppose we'll see soon.As a dealership, I was happy with John Howard Subaru. As a service department, I am mixed, mostly with the fact that service team seems to be declining in their abilities to perform simple tasks. Time will tell if that improves or declines, or even remains the same.

Well, I ll start out with I took my Forester to get a key made for my car. I was quoted $280 and 1 hour of my time over the phone for my model. Then, when I went to pay, the bill said $300 plus taxes. I mentioned that I was quoted differently. They gave me a coupon to make up for it so I was satisfied. Then I get a call later saying they undercharged me and asked if I might come back to pay them. I was in the middle of my work so I agreed to pay the extra. Later, as I m underage, my father called them and wanted to know why I paying for my own bill at 17 should have to pay for their mistake. They offered a free oil change or a partial refund. I took the oil change and was satisfied. When I finally went in for the oil change, I was handed a bill with $64 owed. I once again had to explain and someone there remembered. Then, the associate seemingly said no problem like it really was and that it was my fault. I will avoid John Howard Subaru from now on.

The staff of John Howard Motors are very friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions and concerns with buying my new Subaru. Their price was the best in the state. I will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Our family has purchased several cars/trucks at John Howard Motors and had great service through the years as well. The staff is helpful, friendly and the maintenance dept. is great at fitting us in while completing the job in a timely fashion. FYI- The waiting area is clean, welcoming and there are no pushy sales people around.

My family and my company have been buying vehicles from John Howard Motors for the last 15 years. We have purchased new and used Subarus and Nissans and many used other vehicles and trucks. All around the quality has be great, the sales people in each area knowledgeable, courteous and fair. Their service departments are thorough and staff experienced to the point the the will advise on issues beyond what the original service call was for. And....the follow ups after the service visits are consistent and valuable. I would not visit any other dealer in North Central WV.

John Howard is by far the best dealership in north central Wv! The sales staff is friendly and were great to deal with. The service department has been nothing short of perfect and I ve even met some of the office staff while I was waiting during my service appointments! They were all so friendly! I highly recommend this dealership!

Had an appointment scheduled for an oil change and inspection. I was supposed to have 1 free oil changed left, since I bought my car new from John Howard I was given 4 free oil changes, but they failed to inform me that the free oil changes had expired. After they told us we were finished and we were driving away we noticed the forgot to inspect it. So here we sit again to wait. Hopefully we won't have to wait for an 1 and a half like before. I've purchased 3 new cars from them and I have a feeling that will be enough after this experience. Very disappointed.

Free coffee in sales and service was what hooked me. I have purchased 6 vehicles from John Howard Motors. The staff is wonderful. My parents have bought 2 cars there. I recommend the dealership for sales and service. The dealership is comfortable and clean.

Wow.. they removed my review.. also think it is funny they have all their employees and their families writing positive reviews about them to keep their ratings up. This dealership is a joke. Their service department is the worst in the tri-state area. I was told by the sexist, condescending service manager that I was incompetent and didn t know a thing about vehicles because I was a female. I did know that I was better than to be treated like this and took my business up the interstate to Jenkins. I was told by someone that previously worked in the service department at John Howard that they manipulated vehicles so warranties did not cover repairs and customers had to pay out of pocket and be lied to and sit and wait for HOURS on simple things like oil changes. Hope they delete this review too.. it s being screen shot and will be posted time and time again. Avoid this dealership at all costs if you own a Subaru!

Took my car to this dealership because of the location close to work. I called ahead and told the service desk that I was having an issue with the AC not blowing cold air, pulling to the right when driving, headlights kept burning out, and was aware that I was due for an oil change (which I typically do at home, but figured since it was already going into a garage why not). I was quickly set up in a loaner that was 6 years newer then my vehicle and sent on my way. I received a call 5 days later and a message saying we have finished with your car please call us to discuss what we have found I called twice with no answer and on the third time was informed that service had closed. I stopped by the next morning to pick up my vehicle and pay for repairs. But to my surprise the only thing that was done was an oil change and diagnostics . I was told that they didn t do repairs because they couldn t get ahold of me for permission to order parts and begin repairs. I was appalled. They told me exactly what was wrong, which I already knew (and was the reason I took it to the dealership) and said that they could order the parts for the AC compressor and sway bar link and have me scheduled to come back in AGAIN! I was quoted repairs for approximately $1300 for the AC and they said that parts wouldn t be in for a few days. Frustrated that I had left my car for almost a week with next to nothing being done to it I decided to leave and called a Subaru dealer in Pittsburgh for a quote. Pittsburgh quoted $910 for both issues to be repaired, this included labor. Needless to say I scheduled in Pittsburgh. When I got a call to ask about my experience I was honest and the girl told me a manager would call me later that day. It s been 3 days and no call. And I m still driving around in 85 degree heat with no AC. I WILL NEVER USE THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN.

My family and I have bought several vehicles from John Howard Motors over the past 20 years. They always go out of their way to make each buying experience the best it can be. I would recommend John Howard to anyone that wants a great deal and great service after the sale. Keep up the good work!

(Copied from my Facebook review). My wife and I wanted to buy our first new vehicle from John Howard, or at least we thought we did. When we arrived we were quickly greeted in the parking lot by a salesman (Ken I think) who helped us find the car we were looking for. That's about as helpful as they were. We got to test drive the 2018 Forrester. He spent an exordinary amount of time bragging about the car, explaining the features, more or less trying to sell us the car telling us things my wife and I already knew from our research which, all in all, wasn't anything unsual for a car sales men. Throughout the hour and a half long process of talking about the car I tried to focus the conversation on negotaing a price to which he kept putting off over and over again all the while pushing the concept of financing a car through them as our only acceptable method of purchasing the car. When my wife and I discussed the fact that we already had our financing squared away they were not happy. They kept pushing financing through the dealership despite us politely declining. When we were finally able to get to talking prices (at least 2 hours after arriving on the lot) there was absolutely no negotiating. The salesman pulled every single clich move; showing us the invoice price, talking to the sales manager, bringing him in to talk to us about how the price couldn't come down, and showing us a taylored bluebook price. The more we tried to negotiate the more aggravated the salesman and manager became with us. That's when the experience stopped being us trying to buy a car and turned into two stupid kids who don't know what we're doing because that's exactly how we were treated. We were insulted and laughed at for trying to negotiate a better price. The way I see it no one at John Howard was interested in selling us a car once we weren't willing to pay the ticket price right off the bat. A few days later I received a call back from Ken asking if there was anything that could be done to make a deal. Again, I gave price negotiations another try. Keep in mind the price I was working with was reasonable because I ended up purchasing the same 2018 Forrester from Louis Thomas Subaru in Parkersburg for the price the clowns at Howard refused to come. They even went as far as to tell me that no one would be willing to go that low. As a matter of fact, Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport went even lower than the price we ended up paying! Don't waste your time with Howard. They only care about the customers who lease cars, finance through them, or pay asking price outright. I legitimately wanted to do business with them at first, but from now on I'll be sure to tell anyone I know looking to buy a Subaru (or any car) to not even think about going to Howard. I feel sorry for anyone that gets suckered into doing business with them. Don't when waste your time there.

John Howard exercised great patience with me. I was in the market for months trying to find the best fit. It was my first time buying a car and the car I was driving was a 2005. It took me awhile to see what was out there and get to know all of the current features. The Subaru Crosstrek turned out to be what best suited me. John Howard offered the best deal and did what they could to make the sell.

I had a great experience buying my new Subaru at John Howard Motors! Jim, my salesman, and everyone there were super nice and extremely helpful. They worked with me and for me until I was able to drive home in the vehicle of my choice. I would highly recommend John Howard and especially salesman Jim Churilla to anyone looking to buy a new Subaru!!

UNDERSTAND... A year ago this was under different management and we were VERY dissatisfied. This year, VERY GOOD! We had a problem with our Subaru the required a dealer. John Howard won us back under their new management.Great service waiting area with wifi, coffee, and someone just came through asking if I needed anything to eat or drink!I hate bad service. But redemption is pleasing, thus I write.

Highly recommend going thru JHM when buying or leasing a vehicle! Being a female in a male dominated atmosphere I felt extremely comfortable throughout the complete leasing process.I also felt the same way while dealing with the service department. Ever since I had a incident when I was younger, I haven t felt comfortable getting my oil changed, issues fix etc. Although I am older and wiser the staff still didn t seem to be over powering. All the staff was presentable, kind and the atmosphere was pleasant and clean.Red Pendergast had all the answers to all my questions and was super helpful! My car was freshly washed and detailed before I drove off of the lot and I was extremely pleased.

John Howard Motors has been good to deal with over the years. I have purchased 3 cars, and my daughter bought one. She traded Impreza for Impreza. Service has been good with my 2011 Outback, & I appreciate all they do. Good follow up after every visit.

I went there the other day hoping to make a deal on a Subaru, but left there very disappointed. My dad bought a car from there a few years back and he always brags about what a wonderful experience he had, but I did not. He told the salesman the price he was looking to pay (which was $16,000) and he was able to drive out of there in a brand new Forester for the price he wanted to pay. Like I said, this was a few years ago so I guess a lot has changed. Not sure if it's because I'm in my early twenties or what, but they would not work with you on price at all. I was told basically what the price they have on their website was final. Finally admitting defeat, I walked out wasting hours of my time.

My first salesman was pushy, wanting to get me into a car I didn't love. My second salesman, Joe Brown, was fantastic! He was not pushy at all, and wanted to make sure I had all my questions answered, was willing to do what it took to get the car I wanted in a price we could agree on. He was very accommodating and had no problem emailing and talking with me for over a month until we got the right car!

I'm very pleased with my 2017 Subaru Outback. My salesman, Mike Koval, was able to find a car meeting my expectations and had it delivered to the lot overnight. I was a repeat customer for Mike and he worked very well with me to supply the right car. I was also pleased to receive training on "Eyesight" and other car features from Ken Bodnovich. He took extra time to make sure that I'm able to use the advanced features that came with the car. We've taken the car on a couple of trips so far and it has performed flawlessly. Nice car! Good sales staff.

When I needed a new vehicle for my fiancee we looked around to see what was available. She really liked the Juke so we went up to John Howard and found the one she wanted. The sales staff there was amazing and did everything they could to get us the best deal. I know that the next time I need a new car I'm going to go to John Howard. They have got a customer for life.

Having kept my beloved '97 Saab 9000 for 15 years, I was definitely not "in the know" about buying a new car these days. Sales Consultant Joe Brown at John Howard Motors made it a pleasure. We feel he went the extra mile in every way to find us the car that was right for us at a price that was right for us (Subaru Impreza Sport Premium 5-door). From our first internet contact all the way through to the closing, he walked me through the many steps with professionalism, courtesy, and patience, and even offered advice that saved me money when I transferred my auto insurance to the new car. Thanks, Joe! Business Manager Scott Shaffer was equally helpful. Everyone we encountered at John Howard was friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely do business there again.

So I've only used the service department here, but they are top notch. Great communication as they found a couple issues with my car during routine maintenance. I had a call advising of an issue with an estimate of what it would take to to fix. I'll come back for additional service again.
