Hampton Summer Wind CG...The good news: It's probably no more then 500 yards off of a major highway so getting to it is easy and it is big rig friendly (We are almost 70' long). The bad news: it's probably no more then 500 yards off of a major highway so you will hear the traffic day and night (it's not obnoxious but it is there).Beyond those two points this is a well maintained and clean but absolutely bare minimum, No frills campground. If that's a problem for you you shouldn't bother to read any further. If however that's not a problem for you then read on.This a small but easy to navigate Campground. You have mostly level and gravel pull through sights to park on with full hookups. There is only one building on the property that is used as an office, along with bathroom and laundry room. We were here for a week and never once saw anyone in the office. It just stays locked. The campground basically runs on the honor system. When you pull in you stop and get an envelope and you put your money in it for the amount of nights you're staying. If you extend your stay as we did, you just call and go get another envelope. Our reservations were made completely through the phone with the (friendly and helpful) daughter of the owners and she was located in a completely different state. The entire time we were there we only saw an owner one time for about 2 minutes as she drove through, said hello and then was gone. The view of the mountains and meadows is gorgeous here, and you are within an hour's drive of many wonderful things to see and do. So if you just want a place to sleep while you explore (like we did) this is a perfect and reasonably priced campground. We will definitely be staying here again when we're back in this area.

Great small park with full hookups just off I-64. Site was level enough and the view was very nice. Excellent location for our unplanned day trip of the New River Gorge area. We would stay again if passing through the area.

We were looking for a last minute place to camp at night when luckily we found Hampton. It was quite, bug free, and well maintained. They also have showers and wifi! When we woke up in the morning we noticed a beautiful view of West Virginia. We highly recommend. Thank you Kimberly for helping us feel right at home!

Ann was just the sweetest. We were passing through on Memorial weekend and she was very accommodating. Beautiful view and clean. We will definitely visit again.

We spent 2 nights at Hampton Summer Winds. The access, off of I-64 was fantastic. Despite the close proximity to the highway, road noise was not an issue. Our site did not require the use of leveling jacks, though most of the other sites were not quite so flat. All the sites are gravel/grass and are close together. While we don't have slides on our 41' Class A, there didn't seem to be any problems for other campers with slides deployed.I didn't think that the restroom was particularly clean. The simple concrete block building looked like it had been several days since anyone had been there with a mop. Just not up to the level of amenity I would expect at this price.

Easy on and off 64. Level full hookup. My only complaint is that I have a dog that I would like to tie out. Absolutely no yard...right on top literally of the other trailers. No space at all between units.

Site was not level. No amenities. No cable, no cell service. Good water pressure.

The most charming RV park in America. Beautiful views, over looking a field with a few pasture raised cows. It is such peaceful and serene campground. The owners are kind and keep the park clean and maintained. We came in late at night (which we don t like to do) but they had spots available. It s close to the highway but far enough away to not hear traffic. Safe place for kids to run around and play. Highly recommend this campground!

Great place to pull in and stay for night. Pull through with an easy in and out. Would stay again. There is no one on site and you pay in honor system. Make sure you have cash to pay.

The only reason I would not give a 5 is the WiFi never did work. Otherwise this is a fantastic place to camp! Beautiful views, clean restrooms, very nice laundry, and the sweetest cows come to visit you. The manager, Kim, was so gracious and helpful. This is a great place to stay a few days. It is immediately off the interstate and very well maintained. Thank you Kim!

Great place to stay on your way to OBX from Ohio, just about half way! We are very new to RV adventures; however, this place is great. The hook-ups were the best I have seen yet. They are new (or really well maintained), and right where you need them for easy setup. The place was so clean and had a great southern view with tables, chairs and a covered area. The staff (Russ), is really great. He had a genuine concern that we were taken care of and happy. This will be our place to stay on when traveling I-64!

We stopped here on the way home to Fl from Ohio. A little off the interstate, but worth it. Very friendly accommodating host. Beautiful view. Full drive through hook ups. Great views. Perfect quiet, overnight stop. Clean, shower house.

This very nice RV campground is designed to serve RVers on their way somewhere else. It features drive through level sites and full 50 amp hookups. Very close to I64 but a beautiful view of the country side. Of special note is a cow viewing chapel with two comfortable chairs looking out over a pasture. What could be better aftet a long day on the road with your RV? Note there is no playground equipment for kids.

Most wonderful people own the grounds! Went above and beyond to help us with a few equipment issues we had during our stay.Close to interstate, full hookups. All pull-thru sites with easy in and out, not to mention great scenery.Best to have leveling blocks/wood as there is a bit of a slope to most of the sites.

I loved this park beautiful view and wildlife......I have traveled all over the United States and stay a thousands of parks big rv parks with places that had 300 plus sites and small parks with 5 spots.......and every place I had a issue rather it was water sewer or just down right getting my camper in the spot or the typical problem where the spot you get one end of the camper is 6 foot off the ground and the other end your landing gear is extended out all the way or bottomed out ....but at summer wind rv park .....the spots are drive threw ....take the second entrance if your water hook up is on the driver side of your camper or rv ........so ya don't have to turn around....... and the most important thing I loved about this park is the owner Ann and her husband are very good ppl ....they make you feel as if you are family honestly I can say I miss seeing them everyday pretty much they will give ya the shirt off their backs and I'm not just saying that I mean it .....when I was there and I was there for 7 months at a time 2 years in a row and there was a guy there I'm not sure the complete story on his issue but he was basically homeless had a tent and a bike and a backpack cause his house burnt and he lost everything the let him stay there rent free to get back on his feet the guy rode his bike 10 to 15 miles to work ......I would be surprised if Ann and her husband gave him the tent and bike everything he owned

You cannot tell that you are so close to the interstate. Nice capital improvements in the last year. Beautiful setting. Fair size sites for big rigs. Probably won't stay here again, though. The Keystone ppipeline workers are here long term, and they pretty much feel like they can do whatever they want with music, parking, carrying on. It was like living next to Animal House. Definitely ask if the pipeline workers are still in residence before you book your stay; if so, go elsewhere.

Easy in and out. Kimberly was very helpful and kind. It is not a resort but a beautiful enroute rest stop. Lots of scenic photo shots nearby. It's Near Lewisberg and the Greenbriar resort. Also, the Greenbriar river, the New river ( a very old river that flows north from North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, joins the Gauley river and empties its water into the Ohio river.) Also, the Shenandoah river is nearby along with the historic town of Harper's Ferry W. Va.The town, Harper's Ferry, rests along the banks of the North fork and South forks of the Shenandoah (which join at Front Royal Virginia)and confluence of the Potomac river. All have hiking trails and National sites. We will return when our travel takes us close by!! (I'm old so don't rely on my accuracy of rivers and such)

So convenient! Right smack off the interstate and the road noise was hardly noticeable much to our surprise. Our level, pull-through spot had a full hook up with no issue. Great water pressure for entire stay. The bathhouse is clean and that great water pressure felt real nice at the end of a long, hot day. This is a no-frills campsite if you need a night or two when traveling through the area. It is very convenient for visiting the West VA Renaissance Festival as well as the Lewisburg and Greenbriar areas. Pretty views and a well-cared for property is enough for us.Anne was a gem and while I did not get to meet her personally, I felt that she took good care of us just the same.We did not have any issues with the long-term, pipeline residents during our two-night stay in the summer of 2018.Edited to add: We could not access the WiFi, apparently you need to standing next to the office to do so according to another camper.

We had big camping plans for Labor Day weekend, we got up to our original camp ground only to be told they had rented out our spot. Far away from home with several family members coming in the next day we felt helpless and emotionally exhausted. We called 10 campgrounds within a 50 mile radius and everyone was booked, we came across Summerwinds RV park and the kindest woman answered, after explaining our situation she made sure we had a spot at her park even meeting us there after hours! The pictures do not do it justice, the view is breathtaking and the owners are incredibly sweet caring folks. We had no issues with the long term pipeline workers they were very friendly and helpful, we even had a couple of them join us for dinner!Very peaceful 4 night stay close to all the places we wanted to go!Friday and Saturaday they have a quaint barn market open next to the site it is worth the walk over! The Homemade jelly and fudge is to die for!I can t thank these kind folks enough for the heroes hospitality and beautiful land they share!Highly recommend this hidden gem!

We had to outrun Hurricane Florence so we moved west into WV and found this rv park and thank goodness that we did. It's clean, scenery is beautiful and the owner Ann is so sweet. Great price for a week to wait out the storm, really nice and quiet. We really liked it...granted the nearest grocery store is 25 minutes away so be prepared for that, but for the price and full hookups, it can't be beat.

Very nice over night spot. A couple of shade trees added to the over night area would b nice addition. Very clean, staff very helpful. Both nights we camped here 3weeks apart we were gifted with beautiful rainbows.

A nice quiet place with all pull through sites. A picnic table and a charcoal grill at each site would be a wonderful touch that would bring me back. Many of us prefer to not cook inside when we are camping. Even the tent sites don't have any place to sit, or cook.Otherwise, it's a nice stop over.

I've been here for a little over a week, grounds maintain beautiful. You have water, electric and sewer! Wifi at office building plus restrooms and showers! Plus they even have two washers and dryers! Best kept secret I've found in West Virginia yet!

Staff is super friendly...nice open sites. Beautiful views of the hills in distance. Out in the country, but right off the highway for easy on and off for RV or large travel trailers like ours. Full hook ups and clean facilities.

Nice RV park right off the interstate, road noise not bad. Check in is a box with envelopes for money put in the mail slot on the office door. Other campers were quiet.

A nice small RV campground. Clean shower house/restrooms and laundry room and machine were clean and newer machines. Easy to find right off the main road. I tent camped and felt safe staying alone.
