Always a great time at Capon Springs and Farms. The resort is great, and the employees are wonderful. They truly know how to create a fun environment for everyone. There are tons of kids activities (and adult kid activities). The food is really good, but I wish they still did family style. The golf course is great. And Pete is the salt of the earth!Noteworthy details: Golf Course, Ping pong, Shuffleboard, board games, pools and spa, library, escape room, bonfire, fishing pond, frisbee golf, and SOOO much more. Really the nice people that make it so special.

I would honestly put zero for the rooms because they are in urgent need of updating and cleanliness. The mattresses are so old . Forget about comfort . Air conditioning is limited to a small number of rooms . The food is of mediocre diner quality . No cell service or internet .. God forbids there is an emergency you would have to find the office to call for help . It is 2024 except at Capon it is 1900 . This place is only for nostalgic people only . For what you charge you should offer better and at a minimum cleanliness

We are so glad to have found the amazing place that is Capon Springs. Capon allows our young family to disconnect from all the distractions that today's world brings and instead focus on being present with one another against the backdrop of the beautiful mountains of WV. My kids (3 & 5) love the playground, the trails, the yard games, and the scheduled activities. The food is filling and delicious, no need for snacking in between the provided meals here! The friendliness of the staff and leadership is second to none. No phones needed, just a longing to be outdoors and to spend quality time with friends and family. If you've never been and are considering a visit, you won't regret spending either a long weekend or a full week at Capon Springs.

My family came here yearly in the 1990s, and it was so special to be able to share this unplugged and wholesome experience with my 8 year old son. With the added spa options & escape room, along with the reliably delicious & nutritious 3 meals a day, this is a summer escape that will leave you feeling recharged, refreshed, and reinvigorated for the pace of the outside world.I can't recommend Capon Springs highly enough, and going there was beautifully memorable for myself, and my whole family this year. Absolutely a gem in the DC area for weekend or week long getaways!

I couldn't be happier with Capon Springs as my wedding destination this spring. My husband and I, along with many friends and family members, enjoyed a weekend of relaxation at Capon Springs while we married at a barn nearby. Capon staff was so friendly and accommodating, and they made us feel special throughout. I highly recommend this as a family getaway. There's tons to do and while you're there you feel like family!

Thank you to all of the staff for helping to make our wedding weekend AMAZING! Every detail of service was appreciated (by all 80 of us!), from the sippy cups for our toddlers, to the care and attention to special diets, to the golf cart for our great-grandmother. We love this charming resort... the gorgeous setting, the family-feeling, and the fun and relaxing amenities. We can't wait to return!

I visited Capon Springs and Farms in early fall of this year. Trees were turning yellow and red, beautiful.I loved my stay. Every meal, they assigned the closest table from the entrance and a high chair for my baby daughter, same spot all the time. They gave us attention and cared about us. It was so warm and I am very appreciated. They have everything. Hair dryers, baby crib, etc. My room was old but well maintained and clean. Wifi was available near the main building, just fast enough to check emails and news, so do not worry about emergencies. The private spa and massage cost some money but they were fantastic.I would definitely come back Capon Springs when my daughter becomes old enough to enjoy outside activities.

Capon Springs is a wonderful place for all ages. You can play badminton, croquet, shuffleboard, pingpong, golf, and go hiking if you're into sports. Or you can relax at the spa or read on the porch or balcony to beautiful scenery. Capon is also a great time to deplug from tech since most of the housing doesn't have Wi-Fi. Another perk is the amazing food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Best part is you don't have to wash them!

If there is a heaven in Earth, it s Capon Springs & Farms. From the time we walked through the lobby doors until the time we reluctantly left, we felt like we were home. We were concerned that the absence of TV s and internet in the rooms would be a problem but it was just the opposite. It put us the mindset to relax and enjoy everything around us. Plus, since they have a large TV room and a room set aside to get on the internet, we could do so anytime. We never went to those areas, though. This amazing haven has all of the amenities needed for a long- weekend or week(s) long vacation stay.Warm and friendly staff; comfy couch room for relaxing and meeting other guests in front of a big fireplace; spacious dining room with lots of windows for great light; guest rooms with super-comfortable linens, beds and pillows; tons of activities like golf, tennis, pickle ball, badminton, ping pong, croquet, shuffleboard, fishing pond, hiking, and spring-fed swimming pool. Plus a spa for mania & pedis, massage, facials and the delicious soaking baths. There s a game room, well-stocked library, and Escape Room to experience. During our stay, there was a bluegrass concert and a beer tasting event and we learned to play Fling Golf. If all of this sounds too good to be true, think again. And go there and experience for yourself. You ll be glad you didRooms: Simple furnishings, super comfy beds, pillows, and linens. Our room had a walkout to a deck that overlooked a stream and we kept our window opened to fall asleep to the sounds.Walkability: This is a park your car and walk haven. However, there is handicapped parking nearby every building and I think you can rent golf carts. And you can bring your bikes if you wantNoteworthy details: The place to stay to do nothing or take part in a wide range activities, planned and unplanned.

I ve never experienced a place like Capon. It s the perfect reset our family needs. No phones, beautiful scenery, great food, kind people and all based around true tradition. You can tell the family keeping Capon alive truly has pride for their property and wants to share it with their guests. Every time I visit I wish I could share the experience with others. Thank you for another amazing set of memories!

Ripped out of the time capsule of 1935 and dropped into a hillside in Northern WV! Lots to unpack here for the resort- but the golf course was dynamite. Don t let 9 holes deter you. It s worth the drive. Perfect conditions and golden age architecture throughout. Prep course a fun walk as well - combined they make a great day of golf. Multiple tees and angles of them make for a very different 18 holes when running it back. Awesome place

This was my first time it won't be my last. This place is amazing. It is like completely stepping out of the stress filled technical world and going back to a simpler time. The simplicity is the charm. It's peaceful on so many levels. The natural beauty, the lack of technology (still accessible if you absolutely have to have it), the friendliness, home cooking. If you want to get away and really take a breath and relax this is the place if you want to keep it simple. The hiking trails put you into a wonderful frame of mind. There is a wonderful spa if you need it. Its a great place to relax and do nothing too. No reservations needed for dinner not tie no jacket unless it's chilly. They can also work with and do a great job with special dietary needs.

Fantastic, refreshing gem in beautiful West Virginia! I have been attending a terrific quilt retreat at Capon Springs and Farms for some years now, and have soaked up the genuine care and joy the proprietors offer at this beautiful retreat and spa center. I feel rejuvenated after a visit to Capon Springs, and right away start looking forward to the next trip

If you want a place that you can take family and friends to create memories and just enjoy each other this is it. You can participate in many things (trails , tennis, soccer, volleyball, pickleball, golf) or you can choose to relax (by the pool, spa, library and game room) The meals are all comfort foods!! They have a Saturday night camp fire with a sing a long and hot dogs. All the staff is very friendly and make you feel at home.

Capon Springs is my favorite place on earth. My family has visited every year for three generations, and it is our most beloved summer tradition. It is the perfect escape from the stresses of day to day life, and when you re there, you feel like family. My best childhood memories are at Capon, playing in the sand pit, walking along the creek bed, performing in the talent show, and stuffing my face with blueberry pie on the hill! I can t wait to go back in a few weeks. Country roads, take me home

Capon Springs and Farms is a great get away for people of all ages. I love all the activities you can safely play. My family was just at Capon last week. We swam in the pool that is super refreshing, played shuffleboard, cards, ping pong, and enjoyed going for walks to see the pigs. It was fun to explore the woods and see the beautiful scenery from the pavilion next to the golf course. The food is delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend a visit to Capon. My husband and I took my parents here this past August and it was as glorious as our first visit last fall.We enjoyed the pool, the spa (though the soaking tubs were out of order so we had to do the swim spa and get a facial), shuffleboard, badminton, Eagle Rock hike, and so much more. The meals as always were fantastic. My parents enjoyed staying in the Presidential cottages by the stream. We can't wait for our visit this summer, introducing our baby girl to the magic of Capon.

We have held our family reunion at Capon Springs for decades. It is excellent for that purpose - activities and spaces for all ages, someone else does the cooking, and no one has to be host. Other families come the same week, so reunion with them is also part of the pleasure. This is an old-fashioned, unpretentious, mountain springs resort. The spring-fed bathing pool is the heart of the experience for me, within the beautiful mountain setting.

This is a pretty place in the back woods down a back road. The whirlpools are unique being in a private room with a built in shower and steps going down into the tub area. It's comfortable because you're offered extreme privacy and you're free to shower as many times and you see fit during your time in the tub room.As with all places, be sure and watch your belongings and treasure them with your life! I lost my car keys inside the spa building and might never know what became of them. They disappeared mysteriously between the waiting room and a tub room. I was quite lucky that the back hatch of my car was unlocked with my spare keys inside. I was even luckier still to find a shop where I could get my keys replicated.

Capon was an easy choice for us for a little summer getaway. All safety protocols were taken seriously and my family and I felt extremely safe and relaxed. If you are looking for a place to get away for a bit and want to skip crowded beaches and restaurants, this is the best place to do it. Quiet, clean, great food and friendly staff and guests, you can leave the stress of quarantine behind.

The service was fantastic and food was delicious. I don't usually get up early for breakfast, but their breakfast is definitely worth it! The room I was in was a bit unsafe with the door handle not working, the bathroom door not closing, and no a/c, but that did not change the experience. There was also no cellular reception, but Capon Springs has so much to do that internet is nowhere in mind at the time and makes you focus on what's around you to do rather than sitting on a device. All around beautiful experience, would definitely love to visit again in the next year or two.

Loved our recent stay here and it s perfect for a digital detox from the city. Capon Springs is a beautiful property tucked away in a quiet oasis with lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation. My wife and I stayed in the honeymoon suite, which is spacious and comfortable, tucked away in the woods overlooking the swimming pool. It s both isolated and close to the amenities and dining. Great for a romantic getaway. While there is only a/c in rooms in the Main Building it cooled off enough at night early September and there are also ceiling fans.Their spa is wonderful- I highly recommend going for a soaking bath at least. I felt so much more relaxed afterwards. Hygeia Spa also offers massages.Play tennis, badminton or hit a round on their beautiful golf course. They even offer a quirky new sport called fling golf on a dedicated course - it s like a cross between lacrosse and golf. Give it a try, Jonathan is passionate about giving guests lessons and it s fun!We both enjoyed the food included in the rates. Rates include 3 meals a day, and you can defer meals after check-out if you arrive late for check-in, which is nice. Thursday night grilled steak dinner overlooking the golf course at Sunset Lodge is a beautiful setting for a great feast! The homemade blueberry pie is phenomenal.Pro tip: Bring empty water containers to take some of the famed Capon Springs water with you. It tastes good and it s meant to have health benefits. Also, be sure to visit the pigs on the property as they re entertaining to watch for a bit!

We have been going to Capon Springs on and off since 1994. Beautiful setting, thoughtful staff that remembers our names, delicious food and that delightfully refreshing spring fed swimming pool. A fine selection of activities such as hiking and golf or just relax and catch up on my reading. The rooms are always immaculate and I enjoy going here much more than any bland resort hotel.

My husband s family has been coming to this wonderful family-owned mountain resort for 60+ years! I just returned from my 30th summer vacation at Capon Springs and Farms, and I continue to cherish everything about this special place!! The people and life-long friendships we ve made, the endless variety of fun activities, the beauty of the mountains and the enchanting gardens and flowers, the healing fresh spring water, the yummy food, the babbling stream that soothes us to sleep at night, the friendly and accommodating staff, the relaxing and restorative spa treatments at Hygeia, the stunning golf course, the hiking trails, etc. If you value family, kindness, fun and respect for others, this all inclusive vacation destination is for you!!

I have been there many times with my friends and our children. It is a lovely old fashioned resort. Children always have fun, golfers have golf, frisbee golfers have a tournament. The hiking is very good. The food is fresh locally sourced and a bit of the 50s and sixties. The water from their own spring is delicious and I otherwise never think of the taste of water. The guests are kindly, well spoken and have come back every summer for years. It is not a luxury resort but if you love the place it s part of the retro charm. The staff can t be beat. We couldn t live without our week there which we refer to as Brigadoon. Oh yes, the internet reception is rotten except in one room or the top of hill or cliff. . Aw, shucks, how can anyone live without it.

This is an amazing place. My wife's family has been coming here for 30+ years. The first time I came (around 2005?) I was amazed to see teenage kids singing around a campfire with their parents. I have since had kids of my own and they would rather come here for fishing, shuffleboard, badminton, sleeping in the hammock, family meals, talent show, and bingo than Disney World. The connection you make with your kids during this week is amazing. Just a relaxing vacation (although you have to be prepared to gain 5 pounds- they feed you three meals a day, lots of dessert, and snacks).

Listen. I'm a child. And I must asure you Capon is amazing! Here's my reason. Yes it's expensive, but worth it. There's a playground for kids, which if you have any you can tell them to play in the playground and you can go inside for a while, because the community is all family here. Their tours with the springs and such are quite nice. The food. OHHH the good food! It's quality is quite high. You can ask for extras, hot chocolate, etc. At dinner, you can ask for desert. Either ice cream I think or the special of the day. At 9PM snacks come in, and it can be giant pretzels, and other things depending on the day. In the morning we gather up near the food house to listen to the national anthem and then we go eat. Other than the playground there is also tennis, basketball, disc golf, tons of hiking trails, golf, and most of those things have weekly tournaments. Idk anything about those I'm too young haha. Near the kitchen not many if anyone else knows this, there is a small family of cats. Or there was. I recorded a YouTube video of it 2 years ago, but I don't know if they are still there. If you want to try being a photographer, any photo you take of the mountains nearby will automatically be 5 stars. West Virginia is a great place in general. Capon springs and farms is % better. Also, the road is good for scootering down and maybe skate boarding down. And biking, of course. Cars don't come down very much, and if they do then they are always slow because of all the kids playing. There is also a talent show. Alright, that's my rant.
