Stopped at the Quality Inn New River Gorge on the way home for an overnight heading home. This inn is an motor hotel type establishment from the past where you register at the office then drive up to your room. It makes unloading so much easier than dragging bags through a lobby and down hallways. The rooms are clean and modestly appointed. Decent value for an overnight traveler. Staff was friendly and helpful in the office. The place is very well kept and has a lovely feel about it. Its tucked in off hwy 19 out of the way and quiet.I believe this will be a favorite stop on the way home from the south.Another great aspect is the roadhouse restaurant which is housed right in the hotel. Elliott Whitewater Bar and Grill. We arrived at dinner and had a feed of the best wings I've had in years. Thick and meaty. Beer for me and wine for the spouse. The atmosphere is perfect with travellers and locals alike patrons to the establishment. Not a huge menu but enough to satisfy. Not overly expensive for good food either and nice staff. This type of Inn with an eatery is sadly lacking in this rushed world. This is a nice place and I will be back

The outside could do with some updates, but the rooms are better. We had a great night's sleep and everything was clean and fresh. The team was friendly and helpful. Elliott's bar and grill was super, the food was good and value for money, and the servers were attentive and friendly.Rooms: Don't be put off by the outside, they have invested on the inside. Clean, fresh and had a great night's sleep.Food & drinks: Elliott's is great and the breakfast in the morning was good as well

We stayed here for two nights as were passing through visiting New River Gorge NP. While the motel itself is somewhat outdated and in need of a general face lift, I thought the overall condition of the property, our rooms, comfort of the bed, etc was great. I like the convienence of parking right outside your room with outside access - in classic motel style. The front staff were very pleasant when we checked in and a definite plus was having Elliot's Whitewater Bar and Grill located right on the premises. We walked over one evening for dinner and it was outstanding. I would stay here again if I'm passing through.Food & drinks: Having a great pub and restaurant like Elliot's on-site is a definite plus.

We stayed here one night on our way to Myrtle Beach for our Christmas vacation and again on our way back home from Myrtle Beach to break up the drive and we were very pleased to find a very clean room with a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy but most important is clean rooms and a comfortable bed! When traveling a CLEAN PLACE TO SLEEP AND SHOWER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME!!!!! keep up the good work.

Would stay again.Rooms: Room was very clean.Nearby activities: New River Gorge National Park, hiking, climbing, white water rafting, and so much more.Safety: Felt safe staying here.Food & drinks: On site restaurant. Dairy Queen is right across the parking lot and Door Dash is also available. Many good options. Great Location! I was worried after reading a few reviews about the smell of some of the rooms. But this place was great. Staff was friendly, the rooms did not smell bad but I heard they have pet friendly rooms so those may have a different smell. The pool was warm and big. Overall I would definitely stay again. Hot breakfast in the morning also. Bar and grill on site. Close to New River Gorge Natural Park and Preserve. Great place especially for the price. I did overhear the lady say Queen rooms are not pet friendly so booking a Queen you should be fine if you do not want pet friendly :)

First time staying here and we d definitely come back. The rooms were nice, the pool refreshing, and the on-site restaurant fantastic. They had extra amenities on site which I didn t expect but were welcome such as a tennis court and corn hole. Unfortunately, their laundry machines were down when we stayed which was a little inconvenient. If I had one complaint it would be the fact that there are no chairs outside the hotel rooms. It would have been nice to relax outside in the evenings and feels like a missing piece without outdoor seating. We ate at the restaurant there both nights and enjoyed the meal. It was quite busy and crowded as apparently locals also enjoy it in addition to hotel guests. I don t know that they have room to expand but if they did it seems like they would have no trouble filling the additional space. It was also minutes from New River Gorge Bridge making it extremely convenient for those looking to check out the sites. Also biker friendly. Would definitely recommend.

We made reservations last minute as we were planning on camping and the weather was a little chilly. We made it in a little later in the evening and the 2 front desk workers were very polite and friendly. Our room smelled a little musty, but was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in, and the beds were very comfortable. My daughter forgot her jacket and the front desk was nice enough to hold it for us until we were able to come back for it. The rate for the room was a great value as well. The only complaint was when we went for breakfast in the morning there was still an hour left and we asked for milk, one worker went in the back and asked and we heard the other reply"There is only 30 minutes left. I'm not getting anymore out for the day" then we were told they were out. About 15 more people came in after us and asked for milk, there was still cereal out so quite a few of us had to throw it away because we opened a package before being told. Not a huge deal but would have rather been told the truth. Also, the kitchen door was open and at some point a dog ran in and the worker closed the doors quickly so no one would see it. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here.Nearby activities: Hiking, camping, sightseeing, rafting.

This place met our needs while visiting the north end of New River Gorge National Park. The staff was pleasant and efficient. There is an on-site bar/grill where we enjoyed great burgers, onion rings, and fried banana peppers.Breakfast was hot and good. And, there is a gift shop in the breakfast area that had merch branded for West Vitginia and the National Park.We enjoyed our stay. The feel of the place was friendly. Even guests were chatting with each other as they moved about the property. This is a motel with multiple detached buildings. There is no elevator. That was not a problem for us. Just be aware. Our room was very satisfactory. We noted a couple of very minor maintenance items to the staff, just so they could address them before they became a real issue. We would stay here again.Rooms: Our room was clean and comfortable.Nearby activities: Very convenient to the north end of New River Gorge National Park. The Canyon Rim Visitors Center and multiple trailheads are only a few minutes away.Food & drinks: There is an on-site bar/grill. We ate supper there. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We enjoyed walking over foe supper rather than having to get back in the car to go to a resturant.Noteworthy details: Great place to stay for New River Gorge National Park.

I've been staying at this hotel for a week each year while we are in town for our annual mission trip. I've stayed here about 15 times and never once have had a bad experience. The location is perfect. The rooms are always clean. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Is it a big fancy 5 star place? No, but it gets you everything you need.Rooms: Clean. Updated. Spacious.Nearby activities: Rafting. New River Gorge National Park. Plenty of great restaurants.Walkability: Dairy Queen is right next door.

This was a great location but beware of them trying to charge you more than they should. Further more my room was on the top in the middle between stairs. When I said I had a lot of luggage and wanted a ground floor room they told me that was more. When you check out make sure you have them take the price of the safe off the bill (it is added automatically whether you use it or not). Room was clean, basic, what you expect from Quality Inn. It was just the feeling of being overcharged that left a bad taste in my mouth.

It was 10PM and we were sitting in the car in the rain. We called the number listed on Google and were sent through a maze of "press one, press two" prompts before finally reaching a person that did not seem to actually be located at the hotel. Rather than providing speedy service or just holding the room for ten minutes so we could drive to the hotel, the representative on the other end of the line was more interested in upselling me on a rewards program, and told me that they could not hold the room for even ten minutes without a credit card.So we spent 20 minutes sitting in the car in the rain booking the room and giving all of our contact details. As soon as we hung up I received a call from the hotel saying that the room we had just booked was not actually available and there were no rooms at all available. Immensely frustrating and a total waste of time.

Great location, great guests, great staff, great amenities. This location is close to Ace Adventure Park and the New River Gorge Bridge. If you are stuck up and used to the bells and whistles, this place might not be for you, but if you are the laid back type that values the small things in life, you will absolutely love this place. My best friend and I stayed in one double room with our daughters. We all had so much fun. This is a very special motel that we can't wait to come back to. So many memories were made. The hotel pool provides towels for pool use, coin laundry, cornhole boards, charcoal grills, etc. Every evening you will find guests gathering at the picnic tables and lounge chairs under the shelter. There is a real sense of community here among strangers which i think is something you can only find at Motels. I prefer to stay in these places because of the small town feel, and the staff and guests that you meet along the way. The highlight of this place is definitely the bar and grill located at the back of the property! We ate here both nights on our two night stay. They have a happy hour and a wonderful menu. We ate inside the first night, and on the patio the second night. This grill doubles as a bar after 10, they do not allow children to attend because locals do frequent this bar nightly and overall it is a great place to grab dinner with kids, or drinks anytime of the day. Honerable mention to the free breakfast. Very nice options and even a cute gift shop with sunglasses, shirts, keychains, etc. Lastly I will say the staff provided extra towels and blankets when we requested them, they were on the property 24/7 so you could go to the office for anything at any time. 10/10 experience for us.Nearby activities: Nearby bridge (pictured) is a great activity for the day you're traveling back homeFood & drinks: Meals pictured are from the bar and grill located at the back of the property...amazing!

Value for the dollar you cannot go wrong staying here. We were able to check in late after a long day on the road- we didn't check in until 12:40am. The person who assisted with check in was very polite. The room was clean- though part of the coffee maker is missing so we couldn't make coffee (but I do believe they serve coffee in the main office). The bed was comfortable and we were able to get a great sleep beforebthe last leg of our trip.
