This place deserves less than zero stars. This hotel is absolutely inhabitable. Staying at OYO hotels before I expected a decent, not anything to call home about hotel/motel. I was not expecting to walk into The Hills Have Eyes . I arrive at property and come upon a Run down motel that is truly falling apart. It looks like no one has looked at it since the 1970s. When I walk up to the office, the door is locked. I ring the bell continuously for five minutes only for no one to answer. I finally started knocking on the door only for an elderly man to answer. He knew nothing of a reservation or anything. He scrambled for 10 minutes trying to figure everything out on a computer that was made in 1992. CRT monitor in black and white and dos prompt running. The inside of the office made me feel as if I was going to be abducted. There was a makeshift living quarters in what I would assume at one point in time was a breakfast area. The man was walking around with no shoes on and his shirt undone. After driving as far as I did, I just wanted to lay down. So i get the key and drive up a hill to the actual room. Upon entering the hotel hallway it has a very ominous atmosphere as if something terrible has happened there. Holes in the walls flickering lights everything. This is no joke btw. Gods honest experience. I try to open the door to my room. 620 that is, only for it not to open. I had to put all 300lbs of my body weight into it to open it. Finally I get in and I swear to god someone was murdered in there at some point. The door jamb was broken off, held together by duct tape, lock not even reinforced, tub was covered from ceiling to floor in mold, light fixture in disarray barely hanging on, a heater from 1960 and an ac that looked like someone stripped the copper from it. I didn t dare touch or look at the bed at that point. I was horrified for the safety of myself and my family. I immediately turned around and left. I called OYO only for them to act as if they don t care. I take the key back to the lobby to return it and explained that the room truly was inhabitable only for the older gentleman to slam the door in my face. OYO ultimately did issue a refund, but there needs to be some sort of investigation by OYO and the department of hotels and restaurants in regards to this place. It truly needs condemned. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU CHERISH ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE. drive the extra little bit to ANY other hotel. Also any picture you see on any booking sight ARE NOT of that hotel. BE AWARE!

As the old saying goes you get what you pay for, but this place really took the cake!As we entered the room, the owner picked up a device and when my wife saw the device and question about it the owner said it was a bug trap. Little did we know it was for the Cockroaches! We ended up killing around 10 of those bugs. The outside of the building looked nice, but the interior of the rooms that are posted don't look anything near what we had. I don't know where they got those pictures, unless that's when the building was first built. The fire alarm outside our room in the hallway look like it was about to fall off the wall, but it certainly let us know it was functioning with the constant beeping. (need a battery change perhaps) The rooms smelt the carpet was bad the mold all through the bathroom especially on the top of the shower ceiling was horrible. The sink water came out hot, but as far as the shower I wouldn't say lukewarm was it's temperature, but made do.Also water continuously dripped from the ceiling I'm assuming possibly a leak with the upstairs bathroom area. Pillows were nonexistent, so flat you might as well just laid on the mattress, we ended up folding ours so we could sleep. I am sorry if some people are used to these type of living conditions but for someone like my wife and myself we cannot condone. The only highlights of the room was the AC somewhat worked but you had to use the remote control to get it to turn on. The TV work perfectly fine and shockingly enough the safe that was in our room worked fine too. I don't know what the laws of inspection are in West Virginia but this place really really needs to be looked at. Strangely, our room was 621 which was the other side of the hotel, and accessed behind a pawnshop. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here, and you couldn't pay us enough to go back. We made the best out of a bad situation, and learnt a valuable lesson... Check reviews!

The room was nasty hair all in the shower. The remote didn't work the fridge didn't work either. Almost fell threw the steps walking up to find the room and if the shi++ wasn't unrefundable I'd have definitely left tonight. The rooms are nothing like the lies they postRooms: Bullshit

Terror of terrors, don't read through these reviews and be like well it can't be that bad.. It is! It really is! I needed a cheap place to stay because of a delayed business transaction and thought well if nice people work there (which they do) it can't be just awful. Everything said about this place is true and now after two days without sleep and realizing that the bathroom ceiling became a waterfall.. I'm sitting in my PJs in my car in the rain at 430am at Chapmanville Police Department on Easter morning. I intended to file a public health complaint but Google is wrong they are not open 24 hours.I did my best to tough out my four day stay, I'm big believer in capitalism. Any hip traveler would run just pulling up outside this hotel, it is practically in ruin. Yes there is a neglected for decades cemetery right in the parking lot, complete with toppling headstones.The front desk lady and maintenance man were obviously locals and extremely polite. I feel for their health working there.Upon arriving to my room, the dreaded 620 mentioned in previous reviews I immediately checked the bathroom ceiling, it looked fine. This is when I realized the door casing was still duct taped and NOW wouldn't unlatch for me. I was trapped... I expected Rob Zombie to show up through the window at this point. I had to use my car key to pry the latch back on the door. I then used spare duct tape from the previous attempt at repair to secure the latch.Of course then I had to check the window, it wasn't shut all the way.. no screen .. I took one of the wooden hangers and secured the window.Whew... It appeared clean enough, fresh linens and towels and I believe independent business owners should be able to make a living...I can do this.Now I know my judgement is awful..I did kill 2 bed bugs, 6 cockroaches and a large moth.. they all showed up just about the same time like maybe they had sprayed prior to my arrival.Someone above me had a large dog that barked and tromped about sounding as if the ceiling might collapse... and then the last straw..I head dripping.. the fresh bathroom ceiling was now saturated and dripping to the point I couldn't even have used the toilet.Fearing for my sanity I grabbed up my things and you guessed it, the door latch had come free and I was locked in again.Heaven help me Holy Spirit, I trust you Jesus.. I truly feel blessed to be sitting here typing this long but necessary rebuke.If the city won't shut that place down, the state should.. it's rotting from inside and out.I'm not even going to request a refund, seeing the owner never considers them anyway. Here's a tip, buy a roll of caution tape and string it across the end of the driveway.I took pics but no way to attach.Safety: Run, do not stop!

Would not recommend this place to even a dog owner. This place should be shut down and torn down. It was the worse place to stay and they would not refund money back. Has bugs, sinks of mold and beds are horrible. Only reason why we had to stay was because they would not refund our money back and there was no other place to stay. We were late arrival. Took us over an hour to find how to get to the motel. Place is extremely dangerous has drop cords hanging all over the place floors are about ready to fall in only reason why they haven't yet is because of the horrible smelling carpet. ceiling falling down in bathroom, sink and counter top has painted bugs into it. Tub in very poor condition toilet set was and OLD padded one and was afraid to sit on it. The board of health needs to be notified and this place would probably be condemnRooms: horrible. Just horrible only reason why we stay, but slept in our clothes, cause would not refund our money and no place else to stay. Our dogs have better living and sleeping conditions. Never again,

NASTY NASTY NASTY!! I want to give this place zero stars! They don t even deserve one! When we arrived to check in we were not even able to walk in the office, we had to knock on the door and wake a woman up. Got to the room, the door had duct tape on it and would not barley open. The AC made a really loud noise all night and the room stunk badly. The worst part is there was BED BUGS!!! We did check prior to sleeping and did not see anything (we was not even sure what to look for other than bugs crawling). I woke up at 4am with bites all over me and then we found 2 of them crawling on the bed! The property would not refund me the money to get a new room or nothing. They told me they would spray them! Yeah, I laughed too! Do not stay here! Pay the extra and go some where else!

Sure rooms a little out dated. But were clean. As roaches or bed bugs no sings of either in either of our rooms. You can find bed bugs or roaches in even the fancy 5 star hotels. Water was very hot and excellent pressure. Location in the area we needed to be just straight up a mountain. I didn't minded that either. Staff was was wonderful. Would stay again if ever back in area but hope not be.

Roaches on every story of the hotel. Every single room there s at least one roach. This place is fully infested and according to previous reviews from months ago, nothing has been done about it. Killed 4 in my room, my friend killed 2 in theirs, and there s literally dead ones laying on the office floor. The owner s responses to these comments clearly show that they do not care at all. Holes everywhere and the walls are cracked, none of the rooms look like the images they post. One of the old male workers here kept trying to catch me naked. They never knocked on my door for room service. Literally nothing good to say about this place. 0/10 unless you like bugs and terrible staff.

Shame on the owners. Thank you to the staff for making the best of a bad hotel. I feel the staff was embarrassed for the condition and did what they could.The two rooms that I paid for had cockroaches, broken furniture, bare electrical wires, holes in the shower, loose flooring, and holes all the way through under the doors.The stairs are dangerous to walk up and down in spots. On top of it all, I paid $160 out of pocket. Also, they literally wrote down my credit card information to enter it into their customer database. I expect a full refund since I had to pay upfront for this.

Absolutely disgusting room and was very disappointed but the front desk clerk Kay, was wonderful and very pleasant .Rooms: Room was disgusting and dark floors dirty. The fridge didn't work, tv remote didn't work and the picture on wall broken snd light hanging out of socket.No soap and stained dirty towelsSafety: Very scary and dark parking lot . This place was the most disgusting place I have ever been it smells, dirty,out of date (run down) the staff chased us down for 86 cents that they said we owed when we tried to leave they wouldn't stop talking and followed us to the car. The room was not clean and look like there was blood stains on the floor and the table had screws in it to hold it together but it was still wobbly and the smell was awful and gave me a bad headache in the morning.will NEVER stay there again. I don't know where they took the room pictures but are didn't look anything like them.

First off the owner was super friendly and an absolute sweetheart however, that s where the positives stop. There was a gentleman who sat outside our room the entire night causing us not to leave, the room was absolutely disgusting and filthy. The walls were peeling and cracked, the door was nailed back in from what looked like it had been broken at one point, the lamp shades were brown and mildewing, on one picture frame there was some type of liquid stain dripping down it, the bathroom ceiling tiles had holes in them, the bathroom floors along with dead lightning bugs, was stained and cracked so none of us would take our socks off. The room had no phone, the alarm clock didn t work, and the refrigerator cord barely reached the outlet. What little amount of furniture that was in there was mismatched, cracked, partially broken, and very crooked. We didn t dare risk getting under the covers or taking showers and having to use the towels. When we first checked in there was a sign on the front desk with the word debit misspelled as depit . The woman out front didn t know how to do an online reservation. The man that stayed outside our room was either mentally unstable or substance dependent , im hoping the first. No key cards for rooms, old fashioned keys. The woman said you ll be in room 106 , two doors down, it ll say 106 on it . We weren t expecting anything luxurious as we only needed a place to sleep since we got a flat tire in the night and couldn t get it fixed until the morning, but I did expect it to be at least clean. The next day we were getting packed up to leave at 10:40, the lady from the front desk knocked on the door and when I answered she said she was housekeeping and that checkout had been at 11:00, I told her yes we still had 20 minutes. She seemed confused.

This was the worst hotel I've ever seen by far. The rooms smelled musty and of dog odor. Dirty handprints in the bathtub. Water smelled like sewage when turned on, and after laying in the bed, my husband started itching with whelps on his arms. After getting up and inspecting the bed, it was covered in bed bugs. I went to the desk, and the man was not the least bit concerned,and stated that he had problems with infestation in multiple rooms. He expected us to stay in the room overnight,and I insisted that he moved us. He then put us in the room nextdoor to it, and it had roaches everywhere. Roaches scattered around in both the refrigerator and microwave. I was refused a refund. This place needs to be shut down.

I mean I was kinda worried with all the comments but I decided to still try it out as it was a great price and convenient. That place is a little run down but honestly isn t that bad really. The staff was super friend and water pressure was hot and great. Couldn t figure the TV or WI-FI out but we were only there to sleep as we were out with family and friends. Will definitely return again in the future.

We reserved the so called luxury room with jet tub in Chapmanville West Virginia for a night for $97.00 paid with credit card room looked good online in the picture but when we arrived we went to park our car and the lady working front desk pretty much chased us to room and said we still owed 76 cents ..ahhhh ok ...then get into the hallway it stunk and there was a grocery store shopping cart in hallway withsome loose trash in it ..went into room it stunk !! the jet tub had mold around the top of tub in the crease all the way around....the smoke detector came off wall and was hanging by wires so we try to put it back on wall to find out it did not work, the microwave was dirty inside they had no ice machine it was in hallway and looked like trash ,the blow dryer on wall had taped wires was afraid to use....I would never stay at this particular motel ever again nor would I suggest it to anyone!!!!! Worst motel ever and for $97.00 plus the 76 cent we got chased down for was not even close to being a $ 35.00 room...would have left but to tired when we arrive....Marked down as bad experience even took pictures could not believe they charge this much....RIDICULOUS!!Rooms: TerribleSafety: SMOKE DETECTOR DID NOT WORK CAN OFF WALL AND HUNG BY WIRES WE TRIED TESTED IT BEFORE WE PUT IT BACK ON WALL DOD NOT WORK..Hair dryer had black tape around cord ...

The rooms are moldy smelling. They have tv s and beds from the 1970s the mentally challenged maids are rude. The pictures they have online are nothing like the rooms they actually have. I stay in motels nightly and have had such better rooms for a lot cheaper. For 7 bucks more you can get a great motel room at the best western. The lodge is 20 bucks more well worth it.

We walked into the room and left. That was the nastiest hotel I have ever been in. Holes in the walls. Ceiling looks like it had been leaking. We wanted a room with a balcony and spa tub. We didn't even have a window much less a balcony. And the spa tub..omg it was horrible looking. There was no way we were staying there. The pictures they have online are probably from when they first opened bc what we saw is not what we were supposed to have gotte. Or seen. If there was a way to upload photos I would show them. Yes we took pictures. Absolutely disgusting.

Bad it needs shut down the phone don't work they over charge people all kinds of fire Hazzard got to leave your doors unlocked so u can get out from the inside in room 209 and in room 616 they are missing outlet covers the owner Jay treats his employees like garbage we stayed there for 38 days. Was ordering the rooms online for 50$ then we paid cash and it was 60.35 then next Dat it went up to 73.45 next day was 85$ n then the next it up to 100$ so he told us that it b cheaper to pay a week which was 500$ so we did once we ended up paying close to $3,500. He is a very rood man. Beter beroue business needs to.be called. its a dump all the electrical needs to b updated on the second floor the wood is rotted it all needs redone. There's open junction boxes in the rooms. I wouldn't recommend it to nobody. It says free breakfast and coffee but itno so that's false advertisement that's another thing is against the law theybwant come in and clean want give u toilet paper u gotta go buy your own. My opinion it needs shut down or upgraded to the code the owner Jay is a d**k head to everyone but u can go to best western for 10$ more n get breakfast and room service it's a lot better hotel than chapmanville in

Rooms were in horrible shape, dirty, stained mattresses and linens, visible smoke residue in non smoking room, bathroom lights broken,management rude and did not want to give a refund. I have stayed at this hotel various times throughout my life but the recent ownership change has poorly affected this establishment. Do not recommend. We later stayed at the Cheif Logan Resort, much nicer for 20 additional dollars!

I wish there was a zero star option. Place was nasty. The people working/living the were so high and drunk. Room was nasty. Was going 4 wheeling so I thought eh I ll get a shower and head out early. No hot water!!!!! Nicely called the next day and told them I d like a refund. Owner never would call me back. But if you re looking to buy meth and get a disease this is your place!

STAY AWAY!!!! One star is too many! Lets start with the toilet not working then move on to the bugs and the busted up a/c unit. The toilet ran constanly and would not fill so then it would not flush. To many bugs to count and i consider one too many and i I saw alot more than one. I was working the night shift and just needed a place to crash for a couple of hours so decided to try this little place. BIG MISTAKE. I cannot emphasize enough that you should STAY AWAY. Only slep 5 hours and left. The place is run down and in need of a total remodel. The ac unit didnt have nobs on it to change the setting or the temperature. PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELF I NIGHT OF WORRYING ABOUT TAKING BUGS HOME WITH YOU AND STAY AWAY.

If you like really nice people, it'll do. If you love the smell of mildew and dilapidated structures, this is your place. If you enjoy being asked for a cigarette(although you dont even smoke) before you even turn your vehicle off to go inside, wunderbar!!! If you weren't alive in 1985 and would like to step into a time machine and see what it looked like, book now!!! If none of these "features" catch your attention, my suggestion is go on into Logan, skip this stop.

I stay last night with my family we enjoy this place is so Quiet and peacefull the owner is a very nice guy and also the stuff the work there KAY she is a really great person I will tell you 1 thing is way better then best western inn or any other hotels I have ever stay go on and give it a try you won t be disappointed love chapmanville inn
