This place is easily the most miserable, out-of-date, and garbage building I have ever stepped foot in. Every single worker in this purgatory act and work at the swiftness of an elderly turtle that is just awaiting their shift to end. These people will gladly waste hours of your time, and have absolutely no actual clue of what is happening around them. You would think these miserable OLD workers would actually enjoy a job that they applied for, but I guess it s hard enjoying a job when you re such a miserable and sad person to begin with. How much longer until it s self service and people can actually make a trip to the DMV without having to waste an entire day on it?

Compared to the one in Glen Burnie Md. I was in and out with new tags and title everyone was nice yes nice. Especially Jennifer behind the counter, that girl knows her job and should get a metal and a raise. Putting up with people all day will professional help and a smile. It was a delight being waited on by her and the staff.

Took a while to get going but fortunately, once I made it to the window it was a quick and easy process. My visit was also at 1 pm on a Wednesday.

Went there on Wednesday evening and the two ladies that waited on me were very polite and helpful, I did not have to wait at all, had two different things to have done, was in and out in 20 or 25 minutes.

All the DMV staff who stepped up to help me get proper registration and tags for a Street Legal Side by Side were very professional, pleasant and extremely helpful. The dealership had to get the Charleston DMV office involved to make sure the online requirements were showing up properly in the system for them. Without that part of the puzzle nothing could be done by the Beckley office staff but sympathize with my predicament. Once all was said and done I got my tags & registration and left the building with a smile. The mission of helping me comply with all DMV licensing & registration requirements was eventually accomplished and it didn't take any longer than was reasonably necessary. What more can you ask for besides a pot of complimentary coffee? Not much in my book.

The information woman was an awful and tried to send me away for a 2nd time when I had all the documents to get my DL switched to WV. She was rude regarding my eye exam.

Place is too slow, waiting for over 2 hours just to renew my license. Can't even schedule it cuz every appointment is booked over a week ahead for the times I can only get there. I don't blame the poor workers, but management needs to get ALL the lanes opened. Imagine sitting for 2 hours with literally no windows operating. It's complete incompetence and wasting everyone's day and time, many people complaining and agreeing that it's unacceptable. I do hope the staffing problem can be alleviated, but it's no excuse in just simply getting people in and out.

I've been to the DMV several times in the last couple of months and they are not fast but they are efficient and friendly. You really can't expect anything out of the DMV except that so I'm happy with them.

The workers there are extremely rude. Especially when you go to take your road skills test to get your licenses.

It was very quick. Back in South Carolina the line was all the way out the door and down the street so it literally took all day and that's if you were standing in line before the doors opened. Here it took maybe 30 minutes! Excellent staff service!

USELESS!!! I'm disabled since birth so never needed a driver's license, need an ID but they won't use anything I have for proof of residency, my bills are included in my rent and I have no lease, because I rent from family. Also, the lady who "helped" me was no help at all and rude!!

I had to wait in line for quite a while, when it was my turn the lady was so nice and helpfulWhen I finally got processed the lady at booth 8 was just as helpful. I would rather be patient and safe a job than use the online services.

This is absolutely the worst DMV I have ever been to. I grew up here, but left and I have moved 7 times in 14 years, lived in many different states and never had a problem at any other place, just here.. yes, all my bad DMV experiences happened here in Beckley, WV. Now I m back and yes, everytime we have visited there has been ridiculous problems here and most from one particularly rude and very aggressive lady who works here. Oh and if you are new to the area make sure you plan on making a trip to the DMV and all day event because it s going to take hours!

Was there 2 and half hours just to renew registration... Basically making an appointment isn't optional, it's definitely necessary, if you plan on getting something done in a reasonable amount of time... the lady that took care of me was extra sweet though - she gets 5 stars!

Employees are great and very helpful. Got everything done very quickly considering everything else going on with virus. Would have been better if I would have gotten a appointment setup for it though! Still wasn't to bad without one.

I have been here 3 or 4 times to renew my license. Awful service! Every single person I talked to was short, rude, & inconsiderate. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I bring everything they tell you to bring, & every time I am turned away & told to bring something else. Last time I went, they wouldn't accept my birth certificate, proofs of ID, copies of bills, or W-2. They told me I need a copy of a lease, & that's all I need. Totally wrong information. I would suggest going to the Summerville or Charleston DMVs. You will receive friendly, quick, accurate service.

Some of the staff are nice and all, most will work harder to try and get out of doing their job. There is a reason people always tell me it s worth driving to charleston to go to the DMV than trying to do anything in Beckley. They are correct

The experience after COVID seems like it's wanting everyone to essentially make an appointment, walk ins take up to an hour and a half for not even 10 people ahead. Ridiculous. Other DMVs aren't nearly as long even though they deal with a larger population.

Wait was horrible but under COVID rules idk what they could've done better. If you have an appointment you came in and out quickly. My biggest complaint is I had an appointment 2 days ago and their computers were down, again not their fault, but noone could reschedule me without me going thru charleston so I could either be a walk-in today or a scheduled appointment in 3 weeks. Seems like they could've handled that better.

Staff at first desk were ok, but said our wait would be over 3 hours & it was not even as busy as it used to be. They told us if we want to be seen faster to make an appointment but those are booked 3 weeks out at a time!? Why is their system so flawed? Seems that a lot more could be done to get ppl in & out. We need our cars & license when we go not 3 weeks later. Summersville has their system together & are very fast & efficient. Go there!

Staff was very nice, why I gave 5 stars.But, of course, it is the DMV so if you don't have appt you'll be waiting and they will be taking appts before walk-ins.Wait wasn't too bad. It could have been,(and has been), a lot worse.

Just about everyone there is as rude as can be. I sat forever just trying to pay for my registration even though they weren t busy. The workers were too busy gossiping and drinking Monster Energy. I do not recommend coming here unless you absolutely have to. The Beckley DMV is a joke and desperately needs new management and a good morale boost.

Rude people. District manager Rhonda Mckinney was very nasty to my mother who has stage 4 lung cancer. Did not even offer to help her. Rude/aggressive. Stone cold expression. No compassion. These people need retrained on how to work with the public. I've worked with the public for 20 years and would never treat my customers/consumers/clients in this manner. These people wouldn't last a week before getting fired. Zero stars.

The absolutely worst DMV I ve ever been to and we all know that says a lot. The employees are so rude and treated us so poorly during our appointment in a pandemic. We moved from out of state and needed two cars registers and two licenses. They were 30 mins late for us and once we did get our stuff, they rejected us because our bill was online. WORST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET!! They even knew we drove from 1hr away and still had not a care in the world to reject us. The woman even smiled as we were walking away. Pathetic.

This place is horrible. It is extremely mismanaged. The other DMV offices are run much better. If you want to be treated like a human go somewhere else. This office serves a large area and needs to be staffed accordingly.

My experience was confusing and I was not considered valuable enough to try and help with all the details of my transactions. It was like " if you dont know " then were not interested in helping you. So having said this I feel my next trip will probably be worse.
