Finished the construction program here a few years back (2nd class since the carpenter program began) and i think it s garbage to be honest. Going out in the field nobody got on into carpentry through perry and 20k for a 1 year program to make slightly above minimum wage is insane. I strongly believe perry tech really only cares about their graduation rates. Some of these programs are probably worth the headache since some trade s actually pay well such as hvac, but overall id say never again. Every time i see someone post anything related to perry on their social media i get sad for them.

Had a great experience coming to this school and was the best decisions I ever made. The instructors were great and very willing to help me since i fell behind. It also helped out that they have a after school tutor for anyone enrolled in Perry. I am not a book worm but i learned a lot faster with the hands on training i was provided. This school is veteran friendly and all of my tuition was paid for since they accepted VA. I was pretty much making minimum wage and now my salary has doubled since. They show you how to look for jobs as well as how to have successful interviews. Thanks you Perry!

My experience at Perry Technical Institute has been positive and every day of work I am made to feel welcomed. With being greeted by employees as I walk in, to personal interactions with the President herself and higher management, there is no such thing as a dull day. In my experience, every employee in the Perry Tech community is a team player working towards one goal: Providing the very best educational experience for students and guiding them down their career path of choice.

Everyone has a different experience when they go to higher education institutions.Me personally i had sub par experiences at other colleges, including teachers who don't know where to take IT certification courses and staff that lose your financial aid paperwork in the system and your forced to pay out of pocket. But my own experiences with Perry Tech were a life changer for me. I loved every day of it! They taught me to LOVE math and embrace it.Since then I was able to move to California and worked IT for a large school district and then moved up to a College with a larger IT dept. and better pay.I also have a friend whom was homeless, down on his luck. I helped out with his deposit, he took the electrical courses, and it turned his entire life around. He ended up being top of his class and now works for Intel in Oregon.Nothing is guaranteed, but PTI treated me well and made me feel welcome.Proud to be an Alumni!!Can i give more than 5 stars?!!!

I have been at Perry Tech for a little over 3 months now and it has been an awesome experience. Everyone is so friendly and I have seen first hand that all the staff truly care for the students here. The opportunities are great and provide each student the chance to really make a difference in the trade industry. I highly recommend any of the 12 programs to anyone who wants a solid career path.

Great trade school! I took the Instrumentation and industrial automation course 2007-2009. Its a well respected school here in the Northwest.Walking in the door it seems like any other school were they promise you the world but I can assure you they will back it up and come through. All my friends and got hired almost instantly thanks to the Perry tech reputation ! Not trying to brag but the investment I made with Perry Tech pays me back 300% each year =) Compared to my Perry tech buddies My income is pretty average if not low =).H/vac, Electrical, and Instrumentation !!

Exceptional school with outstanding instructors that are more than willing to answer questions and help! If you re seriously hungry for it, Perry can make it happen. Went through the electrical technology program and loved it! Basic A/C and D/C theory to hands on labs, such as motor controls, PLC s, residential, commercial wiring, conduit, variable frequency drives, solid state devices, to applicable field experience can t be beat by any school.5+ stars in my opinion!! If you want to be the best then Perry is the school!!

This school changed my life. The welding program treats every day as if you were at work. Both professors hold high standards for every student. Furthermore they go above and beyond to help everyone who comes prepared to work and learn reach those high standards.

My time at Perry Tech has been exhilarating and also very eye opening. The first quarter is fun and very constructive, I felt that it set a good foundation for my time at Perry Tech. The second quarter is interesting and also constructive. The 3rd quarter has a lot of hands on experience and I felt that instructor wanted me to succeed which is a thing I feel that every instructor wants at Perry Tech. The 4th quarter is very fun with learning about PLC s in all, the instructor is very experienced and is a great influence. The 5th quarter is challenging but the instructor teaching the class is knowledgeable and lays out the material in a way the is understandable and learnable. The Department head and the dean that run the program do a great job at organizing the program and keeping it running. Also, the department head is very good at job placement and is also a great leader of the program. I am now and E-6 and so far it has been great, with lots of hands on projects and a very real feel for the Electrical industry.

Very good school. As a past HVAC student I can say that this school compared to any other HVAC program I have seen provides the strongest foundation for a great future in the HVAC industry. It is hard work and you will only get out a result equal to the effort you put into your education, as well as your future career. I can also say that as someone now potentially hiring new employees, that Perry is the first place I turn to.

Perry Tech is not just a Trade School, locally in Yakima, Washington. Perry Tech is a Field of Training and Knowledge opened to the valley and outside of the valley. Each student comes from other places in multiple states just to be trained and certified by Perry Tech's Instructors and Journeymans. J&Perry has been keeping a reminder to all of the students in many programs that must be told when you are in class "Treat Everyday In Class as if it was The World of Work". Such an incredible experience with Lessons comprehensive and Projects so real. If I had kids and later on they don't know what to obtain as a career in their lives, I would recommend Perry Tech school out of all the schools my kids could even think of. As of now, I am in the Electrical technology Program and on my 2nd quarter with a strong team of students and a respectful Instructor. I appreciate my 1st Journeyman as well on my 1st quarter. He had a great attitude, a great heart with all his students, and made sure whatever he taught was understood and goes the same with my recent journeyman as well. Yet I must improve on attendance though. I hope you grabbed a type of motivation or a reason you should go.

PTI Electrical is the best path... We re always on the move, building new labs or working on jobs around the school. It s evolved since I first started, and is only getting better. Instructors/Journeyman are excellent at demonstrating the material. Biggest benefit is the class sizes (lots of one on one). The ladies in the office are really helpful as well.

Perry Tech continues to be Vance Heating & AC's first choice for talented HVAC professionals. The techs come out with great attitudes, ready to get the job done. Thank you to the PTI staff & students for continuing raise the bar for all Trades!

PTI is a great school! From the instructors to the staff, everyone is working to provide opportunities for students in the building trades and beyond. I am a proud past HVAC graduate and fully attribute my success and career to what I learned at PTI. You get out what you put in! If you are not willing to do the hard work then you probably won t make it long in anything you plan on doing as a career. Instructors are there to HELP you learn, not show you how to do everything and that is exactly the environment you will find when you leave to start your career. No one will hold your hand and walk you through every task, you must be self sufficient and that starts with a great base of knowledge from Perry Tech.

Attending Perry Tech has been a family tradition. This tradition started with my Grandpa and was passed on to several uncles, my Dad, my Husband, and now my Son, who has his eyes set on attending Perry Tech when he graduates high school. Amazing school, high expectations, and professional staff and faculty. Our family wouldn't be the same without this school!

This school is terrible, BEWARE. Because they are a private school you have no rights. My husband is paying thousands of dollars to be taught by someone who doesn't even have teaching experience. His instructors basically bully him he is constantly having issues with a few instructors who are NOT professional at all and have placed a target on his back, not literally, but just be aware of you have a issue with a instructor I would keep your mouths shut because by going to the assistant Dean and thinking your speaking in confidentiality the Dean will go back and talk about you to your instructor therefore having your instructors feel some type of way about you. Please please be aware of this school and realize you have no rights and cannot express yourself freely without reprocussions. Also their last instructor was charged with some sexual misconduct crimes.

Perry tech provided me with the skills and training to succeed throughout over 30ys in a carreer that has afforded my family with a great life. I was 16 and a high school drop out. I had the opportunity to get sponsorship. I had to pass the entrance exam and missed by a few percentage points. Dick Dahl the refrigeration dept. Head said he would take a chance on me. I struggled , but with help I made it and had an early out because of Perry's outstanding job placement. It's not easy by any means, it takes dedication and a desire to achieve your goals. But boy! Is it worth it!

I came to Perry Tech back in 2005. Two years after graduating high school and working for a crappy ISP call center, I had to do something. I entered the Telecommunications and Limited Energy Technology program. Today it is known as ITC. I graduated in the summer of 2007 while already employed. My class had 100% job placement. Today, I am the Telecom Engineer for one of the top 5 largest Credit Unions in Washington. The trick is to keep going. Even if you graduate and get your first job, you are not done. Technology changes constantly. If you are not putting yourself out there, you are not succeeding.

The staff and faculty of Perry Tech take great pride in seeing their students succeed. It's amazing to watch their students grow and become industry leaders.

The School is just terrible, The classes are trash and the instructors are idiots. The food given to you tastes like Crayons and the building in which your classes take place are falling apart. Please take some time to think about what it is that you are signing up for or you will become a Loser for life. Consider a different technical school in Washington or elsewhere if you want a good education.

Anytime classes let out there is a stream of fast moving cars coming out of the Perry Technical Institute parking lots, a sudden surge of traffic all who can't wait to get away from the campus as fast as possible.Watch out around their campuses when the classes let out for the day! Speeding vehicles, cutting others off, aggressive driving.

"J.M Perry Trade", a.k.a. Perry Technical Institute is a very good choice for those considering a 'Trade' skill, especially in the fields of Instrumentation/Electronics, Auto-body, Refrigeration, (and who knows what other fields are now available as well...).I was in the process of learning the first one mentioned (Instrumentation/Electronics), when I was drafted into the ARMY in 1965, and volunteered for Viet Nam (1966-7). (I never did get to finish my education there, but did discover they had excellent instructors...)It's been 47 years since, and -- assuming they still have the same high caliber of instructors and career choices, feel it would be an excellent choice for someone considering entering a viable and continuing career field.

hvac program is completely a waste of time and money as of now since they can t afford to keep good instructors around. Plus their rules are very convoluted and work to their advantage feels like I m in elementary school.

The HVAC course is awsome for the first three sections. the last section known as R4 is a complete joke. The instructor is not educated what so ever and is incompetent. He dose not have the capability that his job requires. The last six months of the HVAC/R program is not worth your money.

Fantastic school- everyone from the staff to students are motivated and the environment is wonderful. So many resources available for students to learn and succeed, even after graduation.

I was casually walking through the parking lot before I got asked by security to leave the parking lot because I did not have a student card even though the official website states that visitors are welcome. Suboptimal experience.

Beautiful building and location. Seems rich in culture, with compassion for our beloved Veterans, and acknowledgement for our Armed Forces and Defense Departments.

The Electrical Technology Program gave me the base to go out and earn really good money for a two year program, I have earned over 125k a year for the last 4 years, cant think of a lot of 4 year college programs that can match that.
