I was very disappointed with my experience at Friendly Automotive. They basically charged me $375 to clear two codes from my computer. That s it. Nothing was wrong. AND they kept my car overnight without even calling to tell me they were going to do so. They promised continuous updates throughout the day, which I never got. And then when I realized how late in the day it had gotten and tried to call them, it was too late, they d closed and kept my car! Since they had cleared the codes first thing that morning, the codes had never returned, so they kept my car all day and overnight for nothing. What a huge inconvenience and waste of time and money. I should ve just taken it to the dealership, which I will do from now on. I feel like I was taken advantage of and ripped off.

Great service from Friendly Automotive West. We brought in our 2008 Toyota Camry for repair. Come to find out it was the water pump that needed to be replaced, which we kind of figured. They fixed it in no time. The car runs much more quieter now then before. Also great customer service from the office staff as well.

I waited to write this review until I had all facts.First of all, they are not friendly. Very entitled and standoffish.They charged me for a diagnostics, something most places do free. Than gave me a quote for a problem I knew didn't exist, over $1000 quote.Took the car somewhere else. Free diagnostics and $200 bill. Super friendly, explained everything, car fixed.Never ever stepping in this place again.

I do not leave reviews but I promised the owner that this needs shared.Huge lack of integrity.I have been a technician for over 30 years. I have a daughter that lives in Yakima and a business there. I trusted they would treat her well since Felix is a Chamber member and Rotary member. The exact opposite happened. Diagnosed by simply scanning (5 min) and charged $132 only to send her to Ford to repair on recall that did not exist. Then charged her $932 for a part that had nothing to do with her concerns and was un-needed. Took advantage of her lack of knowledge and the fact that I sent her there so she thought she could trust them. When I called them out for it they hung up on me several times knowing I am 3 hours away. After talking to the owner he assured me he was taking care of it only to lie and charge her grandmother an additional $400 to address the first complaint. He lied to me, my daughter, and to her grandmother. He charged for parts not needed. He then charged for a repair he failed to do originally while telling us he did it free to make amends. There was never a refund for the original un-related work. Complaints made to BBB, Rotary, and the Chamber.Service: General repairs & maintenance

NOT "Friendly," at all. Paid $150+ for a simple engine diagnostic test, which (for all I can tell) was the exact same thing AutoZone did two days prior for free. No explanation from the mechanic about the issues that I had in question. "It's not that," he asserts. My recommendation? Go somewhere else. Friendly s is the gift that keeps on giving, but not in a good way. After installing a rebuilt engine in our van 5 years ago we continue to find things wrong. In addition to the problems posted in previous reviews by myself and my husband, there are more. As mentioned in a previous review, after the installation we had a problem with the protective wraps around the sparkplug wires melting. We were told the engine just runs hotter, which did not make any sense as the temperature was always good. Well, on our last trip we noticed a rattle that was hard to pin down. We looked all over the underside and the engine to find it. Well, we finally did find it. One of the exhaust manifold bolts was all the way loose and banging against a metal flange that at least kept it from falling out on the road. We tightened it up and then discovered all but one bolt was loose. Had to tighten them all up. No wonder the plastic wires were melting with all that escaping exhaust. It is fortunate the cowling fits tight, or we would have been breathing those fumes. We have had continuous leaks from hoses that they were supposed to have replaced but did not. Just about every clamp has had to be tightened.Hopefully this is the last of the Friendly Gifts that we will have to deal with.On the positive side, we hope this message will be read by everyone and they will go somewhere else for their automotiveService: Engine repair

Do not go here for any diagnostic purposes. Wasn t called to even update on any progress and the tech just took my car for a test drive and didn t do any tests. I wrote a paragraph note for them about the problem but nothing was done to test the problem. $160 for free, hopped in my car and the problem is right in front of you when you start the car.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My car had an issue with the axel. Took it to this place, they replaced it the same day and even went to Subaru to get the Subaru part needed. The price was also reasonable, will use them again. I stopped in to discuss why my car seems to be running rough. After some discussion it was decided spark plugs were due to be replaced. I mentioned that I would like to have it scoped too and THEY talked me out of it! Their suggestion was to replace the plugs, use good, 92 octane, gas and see if there are still problems.They got me in the same day. A few hours later, I paid HALF the price the dealership quoted me. It runs a lot more smoothly.HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

These people are absolute SCAM ARTIST! I brought my truck in for a pressure test because its leaking coolant bad. I already had an idea of where it was leaking from as it was near the back of the motor but wanted to make sure. I figured $45 test would be a good way to make sure I bought the right seal.The only two options were the intake manifold or the head gasket. These scam artist charged me $45 for a coolant pressure service they didnt even do... Not only is the service suppose to be quick and they took over a day to call me. The owner or manager tried telling me I needed a new radiator and proceeded to quote me over %120 percent mark up on the same exact part i could get from orielys.He said for the radiator alone was $359.00 when it only cost $200 at orielys. Not only did he try and scam me on the mark up but hes trying to sell me a part and labor i dont need. The entire quote was over $700 and It wouldnt of fixed anything!!! Absolutely pitiful...Paying $700 then driving my truck to only leak coolant and damage the motor permanently makes me so angry to consider. Just so he can rob me and make a quick buck and not care of the damage it would cause me is infuriating.I know he didnt even do the service for a fact because if he did he would of seen how it leaks so much coolant from the back of the motor instantly, DO NOT take your car to these scam artist ever!!!Just to put this in perspective I was able to quote a new radiotor, thermostat, water pump with lifetime warranty new hoses and clamps for cheaper than what he tried scamming me for a single radiator.... Absolute crooks... You will be hearing from me again... Im going to get you guys on the 5pm news for your theft...

Asked them to replace front struts and back shocks with performance Bilsteins. I noticed they seemed really soft so I looked up the part number and found out they installed OE replacement ones for standard suspension. My car came with the sport suspension so not only did I not get the performance like I asked for the car is now softer than when it came out of the factory and the owner refuses to acknowledge this even though Bilsteins official website shows the part as standard oe replacement. I had planned for this shop to do a lot of work on my car in the future but I basically threw 1700 Dollars away. The mechanics and employees are great and friendly but I don't trust the owner to work on my car ever again

I brought my truck down in perfect running condition. They were just suppose to take a look at the A/C system. Upon leaving and finding out they were charging 2 times what everyone else was, my engine was running horribly. The engine was misfiring and puttering. Keep in mind I brought the vehicle in to have them look at the A/C. After some investigation my #1 spark plug boot was pulled back just enough where it would cause a misfire but not be noticeable. I am 100% CERTAIN THEY SABOTAGED MY VEHICLE. These people are criminals and do fraudulent things to unsuspecting customers vehicles. They will take advantage of you. They have multiple complaints against them filed with the Better Business Bureau. So many better places out there than this. Stay Away!!!! I got lucky you might not.Service: A/C installation & repair

I really like this shop. They are in my neighborhood. I had a leak in my cooling system and went to Felix. They called in a couple hours and told me the problem and how much it was to fix it, and when it would be done. Went back when it was done and guess what?? IT WAS DONE!! Then they charged me what they said they would and NO MORE LEAK! I trust and recommend them. What more can you ask for??Service: Engine repair

I have been going to friendly for years and Felix has been helpful in the past however, my last visit I felt cheated with no help with my problem. Felix wasn't available so worked with someone else. I asked for tune up and let them know my idle was off. They put 4 plugs and did not look at anything else - the cost was $118.00 and my truck still ran bad. They wanted a lot more money to further diagnose the problem. I then talked to a friend that works at Midas and he said be sure to check radiator fluid sure enough fixed problem. Apparently this is a very common problem but this place didn't even mention it. Just wanted to get as much money out of me as they could. Beware!

It s all in the name! They are definitely friendly and willing to help. I had a dead battery at Safeway and was stranded with three kids and my parents. My dad walked over to see if they could jump the battery and they didn t hesitate! After the nice young man helped us I asked him how much I owned him and the service was free. I will do business with them for sure!

I can guarantee whatever reasons you're visiting this business for they'll be addressed. I also appreciate their honesty If something comes up along the line during a repair they will personally call you and let you know vs Fixing the issue you came in for and not making mention of other issues apparent or soon to come.

These guys are GREAT!! I ran over a box knife & slashed my tire. They had a new set ordered and put on the next business day. Great prices, excellent service, fantastic staff. Love this place!! Highly recommend them!!!

THE HITS JUST KEEP COMING (update on our last review)When I see a review about a business and I see a bad one out of many good ones I think someone is just out of line. But PLEASE don t regard this review that way. We are patient people and have realistic expectations. We have been more patient than most people would be. If I could rate these people more than from 1 to 5 I would give than a minus 1 zillion. They are careless and their lack of pride goes way beyond ridiculous. They should just close down their business before they do any more harm.Got to say I was pissed when we were driving in the desert and our turn light assembly falls off the car because they broke the bracket holding it in place. We stopped ran back to pick it up and luckily It was damaged but intact. It is now duct taped to the front of our car as we were 1200 miles from home and in the middle of nowhere. We are waiting for a replacement part, another out of pocket expense we should not have incurred if they had been careful. We have continued to have trouble with our van do to their poor workmanship. Think just about every hose has leaked during our trip because they did not properly tightened them. We are still having trouble with the engine running hot.I hate to always point out the negative so here is a positive. After our last review we finally received 2 checks to cover repairs that were made to fix mistakes they made. Felix must have felt his ears burning. Of Course this didn t include our time and labor (weeks). But we didn t ask for that. We have several more expensive we have incurred because of their shoddy workmanship.Please don t ever never go to these people. There are other businesses in town that would be happy to work on your vehicles and you would save yourself a lot of grief.There won t be any more views over the next few months because the vehicle is going into storage for the season. Can hardly wait for the next mistake to show up, yah right. Sick of this whole thing.

If you are looking for a mechanic that will fix your car on time, fix it right, keep you informed and not do any damage to your vehicle don't go here. We spent over $6200.00 on our van. Had a rebuilt engine delivered to them and they said it would take 3 days. 15 days later we get it back and have to return it in an hour because it was bucking when driven on the freeway. 7 days later we get it back again. They changed the transmission mounts that we are sure might have needed to be changed BUT the van is still bucking and that is what they were supposed to fix. Did not go back to them but think maybe we have a transmission problem. No that's not the problem. We discover they didn't phase the distributor correctly and we take it back to them. Schedule an appointment and tell them we aren't leaving it as the repair will only take an hour. Get there and they can't work on it for 3 days. Really ticked. Go somewhere else and the guy fixes it in 15 minutes. The distributor was off 20 point. We sent them the bill for the repair as it was something that should have been done when the engine was replaced. The problems with this company just goes on and on. We even tried trouble shooting the problems created by Friendly. They also damaged the pulley attached to the harmonic balancer, I assume when they took out the engine. We spent many hours trying to find another and finally found someone who could take the wobble out of it. Sent them the bill for that, too. As of today they have not paid for the repair work we have had to do other places because they are too busy or just don t care. We aren't talking about a lot of money. $64.00 for the distributor and $43.00 for fixing the pulley they damaged. The other damage to the van we have fix ourselves, like the bent back door, grease on the car seat, door and carpet, broken bracket holding the turn lights, leaking radiator hose fitting, loose brackets for the transmission, cruise control not working, and other evidence of sloppy worksmanship. If you are looking for a company that will make you want to drive your vehicle off a cliff after spending a ton of money this is the one to go to.

After my Chevy Malibu was rear-ended I was stuck looking for an affordable replacement. Felix recommended a good deal on an almost-new Nissan intown... I'm still glad to have made the purchase, and I still get all of my repairs and checks with good service quality at Friendly Automotive.

I would not recommend this mechanic. He did repairs to my vehicle without my authorization. He charged an extra $400 on top of the original estimate. When I questioned why he had made additional repairs, he said he was entitled by law to charge 10% above the original price. After consulting with an attorney, I learned he was entitled to the 10%, however; he over exceeded the amount by far. He failed to provide me with a written estimate as I was entitled by law. He gave me some of the parts back but not all as I had requested initially. My attorney also told me I am entitled to get all parts back because I requested them in advance. When I requested to speak with the Mgr; Mr Felix Rifa stated abruptly "I am the owner!" The car took longer than a month to be ready and Mr. Rifa would not answer the phone nor return my calls. He threatened to keep my car if I was not willing to pay the full amount. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. Best luck with your car. My advise to you is to look at the WA state auto repair laws and regulations before taking your car anywhere or consult with your attorney.

Got us in quick. Was able to diagnose a very strange problem with our Toyota Camery. They were very diligent with the issue that took a lot of patience in finding it.
