My car needed a new battery. I was able to get it done at Doug's and was back on the road in under 30 minutes. Very fast professional service and the receptionist was very knowledgeable I wish to add. Other places I called either didn't return the call or had a bit of a chip on their shoulder. I will go to Doug's again next time I need car help!Service: Battery

Friendly service, but very disorganized. Apparently the owner is MIA due to a newborn baby, and his employees don't seem like they know what's going on nor can they quote a price. Tried to charge me $40 for a basic vehicle inspection without first quoting me a month ago, but was very nice and did it without charge. Also, they won't do oil changes if you have your own oil and filter because, quote, "it takes all the profit out of it." I don't understand why they wouldn't just charge a service fee, which I would assume would be charged anyway. But I'm not about to get ripped off by paying for jacked up costs on oil and filter. Would spend the time changing it myself at that rate. I don't think they're a bad business at all, just very inconsistent and disorganized.

These guys have helped me out so many times this year after getting an older van. I love the van and wanted to help it last a bit longer and was so blessed to have a team working to help me out when my hours made it difficult to get to the shop after work here on the island. When it was getting close, one of the awesome mechanics even came and gave me a ride up to the shop just out of the goodness of his heart! This is the kind of team that I want in my back pocket. On top of that, I supper appreciated them keeping in contact with me the whole time and gave me an itemized estimate and final price when all was said and done. These guys are awesome, so why wait to help get you back on the road when you can talk to Doug's auto and trust that the job will get done.

My partner called and made an opt to get out Subaru worked on, it s summer so we had to wait about a week and a half to finally be able to take it in and get checked out and worked on. 1 hour after we dropped it it they called and told him to pick up the car, they told us they don t work in cars with 3.0 engine, there s just too many extra steps to do any work that would have needed to be done so we picked it up and took it home, called around town and now are having to wait 2 more weeks!!Let me just tell you, we needed our spark plugs changed, and normally I would just change them myself (I ve don t it before on other vehicles) but since it is a 3.0 engine and we have a coil pack We took it in because it IS more steps to get to and do! I don t have the tools or background to do that! I m Just upset they didn t WANT to put in the necessary amount of work in to finish the project they said they could for for us when we made the opt. This is NOT a bad review on quality of work but on how I was treated. When an issue is being explained and doesn't make complete sense, the cashier/receptionist Should Not roll their eyes and get frustrated with the customer! Second, I do expect a business to communicate all parts cost before installing said parts. When I question this and explained my frustration (even if the parts only came to $11) I was treated like I was ridiculous and making a fuss over nothing. And this by the man that supposedly runs the place. He proceeded to put me in my place and walk out. To the credit of the cashier, she did apologize and say to me that she had wished he hadn't come into the office. That truly was embarrassing and unprofessional! I would like to see this business change it's communication policies internally as well externally. They clearly have some issues to deal with.Until these changes are made this will be the last time I will take my business to Doug's Auto!

These folks are honest and their prices are fair. Diagnosing car problems can be tricky, and things can go wrong in the process of repair, so you need a place like this that you can trust.
