My truck was hit by a lovely person who didn t feel a stop sign applied to them. So, I was in need of a body repair shop. I chose Mackin s as my wife had a minor repair done there years ago and was real happy with the outcome. Pretty much right away I knew my truck was in good hands. Due to complications caused by the global pandemic shutdown, a major part needed to complete my repair, wasn t available anywhere in the US for almost 7 months!! Throughout that entire time, Lauryn kept me very in the loop on what was going on. She was so patient and kind when it came to all my dumb questions and schemes as well as putting up with my long winded chatterbox tendencies. One thing that really surprised me, I assumed my truck was sitting out in the elements with critters nesting in it for all that time. Nope! It was all safe and secure in a huge, dry , climate controlled shop. That made me feel a whole lot better since it sat for so long. Suffice to say, this was a great experience with Mackin s and due to their great work and fantastic customer service, I ll be a customer for as long as I live in the area. Oh and they even got the offenders insurance to pay for the aftermarket bumper I wanted!!! Thanks for everything Mackin s!!!!Services: Painting, Body & Trim, Welding

These guys are great! I've worked with the Portland location and now the Salmon Creek one. I had a door "bumper" that was hanging off my door because I'm an idiot. They took me right in and were able to re-attach it for me in about 15 minutes. Didn't charge me. What great service and a guarantee that I'll be back for any more body work that I would need on my car. Thank you for your kindness and awesome service!

I don t ever go out of my way to leave reviews but I made an exception here. I m beyond happy with the quality of work & customer service I received. It did take 3 weeks before I got my car back which sucked, but so glad I stuck it out because my car looks brand new again. They kept me updated every week about my car and what was going on. Couldn t be happier. Thank you Mackin s.

My car was hit and ended up with minor yet noticeable damage. The repair brought my car back to good as new. Mostly I enjoyed working with the team in the office. Very good communication and friendly.

Excellent repair to our vehicle. Sadly, we were all set to bring it in for a side swipe repair and two days before our appointment it was rear ended. Despite the delay in processing the two claims, concurrently, we brought the car in and Mackin did an excellent job. Sadly, parts were also the problem causing the repair to last longer than expected, nearly 3 months. Once the car was released to us, it looked fantastic, clean and as if it was never in an accident to begin with. Great job and well done! If the repair is straightforward, I'm sure the repair timing would be much better! I would use them again for sure.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

Replaced my bumper for a relatively minor damage and they did a great job. Debated between Mackin's and a dealership repair center in Beaverton, but Mackin's was much closer to my place. After all, it was a right decision. Mackin's communicated with the dealership in Beaverton to get the new bumper so that I don't have to travel 30 miles back and forth just for the repair. Mackin's also did a great job sorting things out with rental car as well as insurance company. Alex (the agent) was helpful in explaining things in detail, when asked about the timeline, cost, and risks involved.

2000 S-10 front driver fender damaged. Took about 2 months to get an appointment to drop the truck off for repair. They ordered I think 3 maybe 4 used fenders, all of which weren't good enough for them probably because they would need to strip the paint and repair damages. Then the next option was a Chinese built fender.Rule #1 for Makin's: If your vehicle is more than 4-5 years old, don't take it here unless your ok with a lower quality panel than factory. A little dent pulling and filling doesn't seem to be an option, too much labor.The repair was finally complete about 2 1/2 months later. Glad I didn't rent a car. Would have cost a bundle while waiting. Drove back to my work, probably 2 miles from Makin's. Soon as I got there, noticed my side mirror that I bought was cracked, and there was a chip in the drivers door.Rule#2 for Makin's: Make sure you go over their repair work with a fine tooth comb before leaving.They offered to repair the damage to my surprise. Although the repair of the chip on the door was about as good as I could have done myself with touch-up paint, very poor considering they caused the damage in their shop. I was so tired of waiting for my vehicle to be repaired at that point that I just wanted out of there.Today (12-11-23) I noticed that my driver door was making noise. So I sprayed the hinges with WD40. It seemed to help but I still heard a rubbing sound. Didn't take long to find that the driver door was rubbing on the front fender they replaced towards the bottom of gap when opened. The paint on the door (factory) has worn down to the metal on the edge. Obviously the fender wasn't properly aligned by Makin's.Rule#3 for Makin's: Find another shop.The time wasted waiting on the final repair is grueling. And finding shoddy surprises along the way is a reminder that they must have workers in the shop that are staring their career (or cost savings) and aren't being properly trained. Or they aren't much interested in customers with older vehicles. I don't know how or why Makin's is busy. Other than they probably get most of their work from dealers who get their vehicles repaired by the skilled workers.I'm going back to my Insurance company to see about another shop that can fix my rig. And I'll be out another deductible.

Can't thank Scott enough for his help getting me in and out as quickly as possible today after an unfortunate event. He was extremely flexible and his estimate was on-point. Concise communication on the phone. Clear and affordable rates. Amazing results and workmanship. I'm very pleased! Great experience. They have their process down to a science. We were updated about the status of our repairs and they finished earlier than estimated. The quality of the work was amazing. I chose Mackin's to repair my vehicle after an accident based on their reputation and excellent reviews. While it took about 5 weeks to get into the shop because they were so booked, I am SO glad I waited because it was worth it! The bodywork and paint job are superior(you would never know there was any damage), and their customer service is A+ as they kept me informed during the repair process- and the work was completed on time and as promised. I highly recommend Mackin's Salmon Creek Auto Body and encourage customers to be patient and wait for the appointment- you won't be disappointed!Service: Body & Trim

I had a memorable experience with Mackin's Salmon Creek Auto Body this week. Getting out of the parking lot at Regal Cinemas in Downtown Vancouver, I hit my driver side mirror on the pole next to parking meter on my way out, and the mirror got loose. I went to Mackin's Salmon Creek since I had previous excellent experience, see my review below. Once again I was greeted by Scott, who got his service manager Justin to do a quick evaluation whether it was a major repair or can be fixed by workaround. Justin came and took a look and said maybe he will have a better idea if he can take the door panel out in the morning, and see if the mirror can be pushed in and glued back to save a major repair of ordering parts and cost over thousand dollars. I came back next morning, and within half an hour he was able to fix the mirror by removing door panel and gluing the mirror back. He even removed the white paint on the back of the mirror. I was very grateful and asked him how much it will cost, and he said nothing.The mirror is stable and I am very happy that I did not have to get a major repair and get insurance involved which would have raised my premium. I am once again very impressed with the remarkable customer service and long term support the staff at Mackin's Salmon Creek Auto Body is providing. Thank you once again, Justin, Scott, and Loren at front desk, I am grateful for your professionalism and outstanding customer service.*****************************************************We were very pleased with the professional service provided by Scott. He explained all the work to be done, worked with the insurance company, and kept us informed of the progress. The work was of high quality and completed a day before scheduled completion day.

Mackins was the first choice for convenience through my insurance as this was my first accident. I was nervous about the repairs not being up to my expectations of "new condition". I am very satisfied with their work and my car appears to have never had an accident. On 9/7/23 I pulled out of a strip mall parking lot onto 99. A Macklin worker in a company vehicle was well beyond them needing to be concerned that I turned onto 99.However, they proceeded to massively speed up so as to tail and intimidate me although I was taking a right about 100 yards from where I pulled out, approximately 100 yards from the Macklin business entry.This kind individual then thought it was most appropriate to flip me off as I was making my turn.I turned around to greet them in the parking lot. They emerged from the company vehicle with a cloud of vape smoke and proceeded to vape upon approaching my vehicle. I inquired them about flipping me the bird and they seemed to lack any sense of concern and made me feel insignificant, going inside as they rolled their eyes.I will never use this business and am saddened to have had this experience that had no reason to occur.

Our car was taken here on an insurance claim. So far the body work seems to be okay.But on the basis of timeline, communication, and customer service. I wouldn t recommend this shop to anyone. They made the entire process extremely stressful and complicated along the way, and would not listen. As well as accusing us of lying about the claim after they misinformed us.I understand when timelines are delayed but several months is excessive.When these issues come up and their response is to be disrespectful, insult us, and not give any effort to resolve the problem, the customer service is nonexistent. Mackin auto body on Highway 99 has excellent customer service with frequent communications, helpful, problem-solving, excellent help with rental vehicles. I had a great experience getting my bumper replaced here. The guys were attentive and courteous. They were extremely responsive and finished the work ahead of schedule, updating me along the way. They did impeccable work, I can t tell anything was ever wrong. The new paint matches perfectly, even though my van is 10 years old. They even cleaned my car, inside and out. I would highly recommend them and go again.

This was Honestly the nicest car wreck experience I have had in 44 years of driving! John got me in short notice to give me an estimate, since I travel for work. Estimate was $1000 less than a previous estimate I received from another auto body shop. I went to Mackin s because my auto insurance (USAA) recommended them and they worked flawlessly with my insurance. I also received text messages on the progress of the repairs, so I was very informed. The car was ready when promised and detailed inside and out when I picked it up. John walked me around the car to make sure I was completely satisfied before I left and there were no unanswered questions on the repairs. Worked with Scott to get our Lexus repaired. It took a little longer than I expected but the quality of the work performed was great. Perfect paint blend and they covered every possibility for hidden damage. Communication was good. Opted for text messages and I received brief updates on progress every few days. Incredibly nice people and professional. Scott was awesome and he answered all my questions completely each time. If he didn t know he found the answer quickly. I will use Mackin s again in the future and recommend them to friends.

This place is amazing. After my accident it was so hard to find a good and trustworthy auto body shop that was not just going to BS you but I am glad that this place was recommended to me. When I called Alex was so helpful and explained the process to me of what they needed to do as well as time lines that it could be done. When I came to drop my highlander off Alex did a full inspection including a safety one and told me what needed to fixed. Through the process we received text messages and phone calls letting us know what was happening. I also had the pleasure of meeting the manager Scott, who was professional and helpful explaining when things came up and it felt like he kept a close eye on everything. He also took the time to help us chose a hitch which we were very excited to get. I did not think that after an accident getting my car fixed would be so easy and professional. I couldn't recommend Scott and his team more if you need your car fixed. We will be coming to this place for future needs for our vehicles.
