I came here years ago and found him fair, honest and thorough. I moved Way but now am backNow, with a different truck, different problem but he is the same honest and fair man he's always been. I cannot say enough positive things about this shop. Don't hesitate and don't go anywhere else. Jim's is THE place to go for your transmission work.

My transmission was starting to "slip". I checked the transmission fluid correctly so I thought. It seemed fine. I took it in to a transmission shop in Vancouver that had good ratings on Angie's list. They told me my transmission was no good and needed a new one which would cost over $3000. My friend sent me to Jim's to get a second opinion. I dropped it off in the morning and he called me back later that day. He said he checked the fluid level 1st which was low and added fluid and test drove it and could not find a problem with it other than being low on fluid. I picked my truck up that afternoon and he only charged me $20. I decided to tip him $100 because I was so happy he was an honest person/mechanic when I was about to get screwed out of $3000+ by this other "highly rated" and well known shop. My truck runs great again ever since. Jim may or may not be the sweetest guy over the phone but I met and spoke with him that afternoon and he is a very nice guy and I can definitely tell you he is HONEST! Go ahead and take your chances going somewhere else where they will be extremely nice to your face and stroke you with one hand while ripping you off with the other but I for one will always go to Jim's for all my transmission needs for now on.

Tried to get a quote for transmission, he start talking like I was some idiot all sarcastic, and hung up on me, called him back and said WTH? Is this a business or what, he said without looking at it he can't tell me what's wrong, u don't have to look at it, I told him I know about cars, I'm asking how much for a new trans to be installed or rebuilt, well he said he didn't want my business,STRAIGHT F#$@&*G - AS*"!#E 100% TO THE FULLEST

My trani was not shifting and my truck had 185K on it so I needed a trani rebuild. I took it Jim and told him to rebuild the trani. I revived a call next day the truck was done and my bill was $75. The trani was fine it just needed a shifter valve. He had an open check and was honest to only fix what it needed.

Jim was so nice, he checked for what in thought was a possible transmission leak, found nothing and even took the time to show me. Charged me nothing for his time and effort. I highly recommend him! Thanks again Jim !

Jim was very rude on the phone. Would not give me a straight answer on any question I asked. His condescending tone reassured me of his superior knowledge of transmissions. And ultimately convinced me not to patron his business by referring to me as a "yanker" before hanging up on the conversation.
